The newest member of the Duggar clan has arrived! Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo just welcomed their third child, a son. Jinger was induced, and she and Jeremy say that the birth, which Duggar family matriarch Michelle Duggar attended, went well. They will provide more details soon. In the meantime, they uploaded a short YouTube video introducing their son and sharing his name, Finnegan Charles Vuolo. His nickname will be Finn.
The Vuolos chose Finnegan because it is a strong name, and Charles is a family name on Jeremy’s side. Jeremy’s middle name is Joseph, but his father is Charles, and his brother is Charles Jr.

DeleteShe is saying that Charles is the name of a family member (or multiple family members) in Jeremy’s family, and that they chose to name Finnegan after that name. Also, people often refer to one spouse’s family or the other spouse’s family by saying “my wife’s side of the family” or “my husband’s side”, etc. It’s a way of talking. Also, it would be physically impossible for Jinger to be pregnant again within just days of having a baby.

ReplyDeleteJinger said it was Jeremy who suggested the name. What I found funny is that "Finnegan" means "fair haired" and of Irish origin. Jeremy is Italian and has dark features, Jinger has probably the darkest hair of all Duggars. Both heir daughters have dark eyes and dark hair. So the baby will not be "fair haired". I guess Jeremy just liked the name.

DeleteActually, we do. Our second child is named Mathilde (we are from the Netherlands). There are way too many short names nowadays, in my opinion. Love to call her by her full name!

ReplyDeleteI agree that Finnegan is an unusual choice of a first name. Charles is Jeremy's father's name, right? Why not Charles Finnegan Vuolo? The same thing along the lines of Elliott Spurgeon Seewald. They seem to choose such strange first names for their children IMO. This one....not a good choice but it's their business. I feel for this kid.

DeleteNothing strange about choosing the name you want to roll with. Julia Roberts’ son is named Finn. People name their son‘s gunner, Asher, archer, LeBron, Jett, Jeb, Robin, Harvey, etc. The choice is as individual as there are parents out there. I will say it’s not the easiest name to say with his last name. Finn Vuolo. But hey, it’s what they rolled with.

ReplyDeleteI just listened, for the first time, to Jinger’s podcast and I honestly now have a headache. I just can’t take Jeremy who comes across as a know it all and his explanations seem to be as if he memorized them from books with no heartfelt emotion in the words. The podcast I listened to was on Jinger’s pregnancy, and Jeremy actually stated that it’s hard to be pregnant! I will not be listening anymore, personally for me, he is a lot to take.
