Jessa and Ben Seewald just made a big announcement. Jessa is halfway through her pregnancy with her sixth child! This little one will join three brothers and two sisters. Spurgeon Seewald is nine, Henry Seewald is 8, Ivy Seewald will be 6 in May, Fern Seewald is three-and-a-half, and George Seewald turned one in December. Congratulations to the Seewalds!
Not at all surprised by this . Is anyone?
ReplyDeleteUnless they prevent it, it's going to happen over and over like clockwork. Maybe Jessa is hoping her parents will swap houses with her?
DeleteAnd I think its wonderful news!
DeleteNot surprised by the not surprised comment
DeleteActually me!!
DeleteCongrats to the Seewalds, they have the cutest kiddos.
ReplyDeleteWhen is her due date.
ReplyDeleteShe said she was half way to holding the baby so probably August...just a guess.
Delete20 weeks from March 7 would make her due on July 25. Jim Bob & Fern share their birthday on the 18th & Felicity was born on the 19th. Someone may end up with a new birthday buddy!
DeleteShe hasn't announced it
DeleteDon't worry, we'll know the date. Jeremy will post a bunch of pictures of his heir, wearing all sorts of outfits. Michelle will be in the labor room. Sister-aunts will be swarming to take care of the kids. No Duggar birth goes unannounced.
Delete12:18, is Jeremy adopting Ben and Jessa's child? Why would this baby be his heir?
DeleteCongrats! Can't wait to see the gender and name. Jessa and Ben have well be-have children.
ReplyDeleteIt would be great to see a more up to date banner photo.
ReplyDeleteNeed an up dated photo chart with weddings babies plus birthdays and anniversary chart -
ReplyDeleteI'd also love to see all of this updated. :)
DeleteRight on cue. Sounds like the baby will arrive toward the end of July.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it will be on July 29th, my birthday.
DeleteAwesome news!!! Congratulations to the family! ๐
ReplyDeleteIsn't she one of the sisters who said she wanted to adopt?
ReplyDeleteHaving a family member convicted of a crime against children and all that negative publicity, along with the family's involvement with what some consider a questionable religious organization could make adoption difficult. They also have income requirements and in some states want children to have their own rooms.
DeleteWhat does what a brother from the childhood home have to do with a sister who is grown up and married. His crimes were dealt with and he is now away serving his sentence. So that should not be a reason for jessa to not be allowed to adopt. Another reason they may not be adopting is that they are increasing their family naturally every few years. Having many children would put a strain on room and resources at their house. It might also create a place where the inner life and development of the children was not focused on enough to really have an influence, which does go back to your point.
Delete5:21 Do you realize that Josh could be out in 7 years? Meaning a child adopted now would still be a minor then. Josh's release conditions will forbid him from being around minors unsupervised. Unless Josh and Anna move far, far away, they will be right there in Arkansas where they always were, near their family and those children. What legitimate adoption agency who does background checks into the family is going to allow a child to be placed in such a situation? Let's face it - all their talk about adopting was just that, talk, to make them sound kind-hearted. They would have known at the time what was going on in their own house!
DeletePoor Ivy!
ReplyDelete1:18 Yes indeed..Poor Ivy!
DeleteI hope they have another girl then they would have 3 girls and 3 boys.
ReplyDeleteHope they have a boy, it will give George a brother to play boy things with instead being smack in the middle of girls.
DeleteI can only imagine how Spurgeon feels. He's old enough to understand that he will not be getting much attention, just as he's about to transition to pre-teen. The youngest one is still pretty much a baby and will probably be fussy from frustration, since he can't verbalize his feelings. The middle kids will just form a gang and become free range. This isn't good parenting, it's collecting kids (in a small house). It's exactly what Jessa's parents did, and you all saw how that turned out.
ReplyDeleteSo you just came here to find something to criticise,Jessa will give all her kids individual attention like her parents did with them, just because the family got one bad apple you can't put down the whole family,I know many families that have a blacksheep, including my own, these things can happen, when one rebels and doesn't follow the parents teaching, and it can be stressful for the family, I actually pity the family for what they went through, but I guess you're not an empathic person
Delete6:08 wow, you are sure negative..you either don’t want children or your children have become delinquent. Being number five of six kids..it’s fun to have siblings, if they are raised to love and enjoy on another. I’m sure your dark predictions of fussy babies, kids forming a gang, leading to not expressing their feeling will never happen in this functional, loving family. Perhaps seeking counseling will help you overcome some unhappy feelings of past disappointments you are dealing with.
Delete6:08 I know someone from a family of 7 kids, each about 2 years apart, and that is exactly what happened! Even as adults, there is that pattern. The oldest has a chip on their shoulder for sure against the rest of the family. The youngest still acts like the baby. The middles raised themselves, with the oldest trying to boss them, and have ganged up. The dynamics of large families. It's textbook.
DeleteI think there is a big difference between six and nineteen. Jessa and Ben, I believe are more aware of the emotional needs of their children and will make sure "all" their needs are met. They aren't involved in IBLP and seem much more evolved while maintaining a conservative lifestyle.
Delete@1:52 I'd say they're very empathetic. They know what happens in big families. You do too.
Delete@10:26 Telling someone else to get counseling is a heartless thing to do. How would you feel if you expressed your opinion and were told to get therapy?
6:08. To even think about this lovely couple having to worry about their kids joining a gang, not being able to communicate their feelings and the babies being more fussy than normal babies is insensitive and mean thing to say. Their little family have shown a happy normal Christian family.
Delete@5:48 Just like the family Jessa was raised in.
Delete@5:48 Being Christian is not a prerequisite for being a happy and normal family.
DeleteWell congratulations. A new little one is always exciting.
ReplyDeleteI assume this will be Jessa’s last baby. She already has five children as of now: three boys and two girls which means she would have to have another girl in order to have three of each. If Jessa is already halfway through her pregnancy, it means she got pregnant in late October or early November which means her due date should be sometime in late July or early August.
ReplyDeleteWhat leads you to believe Jessa won't have any more children after this one? I'd say she will continue to have more as that's what this family does.
DeleteCurious as to why you assume it will be her last child?
DeleteWhy would you assume anything? SMH.
DeleteLast baby? LOLOLOL
DeleteDoes this make 4 more grandchildren for Jim Bob & Michelle this year? (Lauren, Jinger, Hannah, Jessa, not necessarily in that order) Congratulations to everyone!
ReplyDeleteSpeculation going around that Jase and Mrs. Jase are possibly on the nest...
DeleteI didn't know Lauren was pregnant. She and Josiah sure have dropped out of sight.
DeleteWow, another blessing, congratulations. Your kids are the cutest and best behaved, good parenting.
ReplyDeleteBest behaved? The videos she used to post didn't demonstrate that.
DeleteWow. A bumper crop of Duggar babies this year. Is Jana pregnant?
ReplyDelete@10:33 It sure looks that way in a recent picture. Face has changed, dress is very loose.
DeleteNo announcement yet, would anyone be shocked if she chose not to have children....I wouldn't. If she chooses to have kids I think she will only have two.
DeleteCongratulations to Jessa & Ben!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Seewald family. Prayers for a healthy baby and mom.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you both. Another addition to your beautiful family.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you all.
WOOOOOW 6!!!!! JESSA, CAN U BELIEVE IT, U N BEN TOGETHER FOR 11 YEARS, AND 6 BABIES!!!!!! U N BEN , ARE THE BEST DUGGAR MARRIAGE GOING!!!!! SINCE, FOREVER U 2 ARE MY FAVE COUPLE #1!!!!! JESSA PLEASE TAKE CARE OF U!!!!!! PUT YOUR FEET UP, AND I, LOVE U R
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you Seewald Fam! I’m sure all the big siblings are so excited.
ReplyDeleteNot sure why everyone is acting like this is announcement of child 15 or something. 6 kids is a big family for sure but not outlandish or super atypical at all.
6 kids in that short of a time with no end in sight is atypical
DeleteWhile it may be her 6th baby, it's her (?what number?) pregnancy in the last 10 years. A lot. She had how many miscarriages that she announced, and possibly how many more that she didn't? She has spent the majority of her married life pregnant or post-partum, and that is atypical.
DeleteJESSA OUT OF ALL THE KIDS, CAN HANDLE LOADS OF KIDS!!!!! WATCH 18 KIDS N COUNTING , JESSA USED TO TAKE CARE OF THE KIDS, PACK, DO THE LAUNDRY ๐งบ, ALL SINGLED HANDLY!!! JESSA WAS MADE TO BE A CREAT MOTHER!!!!!! SHE ALSO WAS THE ONLY TEACHER, WHO TAUGHT THOSE KIDS!!!!
DeleteNot true, Justine. A lot of the girls had to be the teachers, along with Michelle, and at one point, Ben. Jana was in charge of packing and laundry.
Delete@8:40 Jessa didn't do that stuff. You have her confused with Jana.
DeleteU DON'T KNOW THE SHOW AS WELL I DO!!!!!
DeleteLAUNDRY WORKERS 1 JESSA 2 GRANDMA DUGGAR, 3 JINGER!!!!! IN THE BEGINNING!!!!!
Deletewell we knew this was coming, every two years like clockwork. That being said, congratulations, he or she will be another beautiful baby.
ReplyDeleteOur family had six children. The youngest is doing very well as an adult and contributes positively to society. Look out on an empty field of nothing, would be life without that sibling. Congratulations to the Seewald family!
ReplyDeleteYou can't think of having another kid in those terms or you'll never come to the end of that number. There could always be "one more." You have to think of the time and resources you have for the number of kids you have, and what quality of life you can give all of them. No sense having one more if you can't provide enough. Children are not pawns in a game of "one more."
Delete5:33, the point is that bigger families can have children at the end who are valuable, contributing members to society who would not have existed if they had stopped after 1 or 2. Nobody said it was a game, and they aren't "pawns," they're people. Valuable people.
DeleteCongratulations thats so exciting!!!!
ReplyDeleteSister Joy just said that she is not having 19 kids because she wants to "be able to effectively and intentionally raise [her] kids for Jesus." So who was ineffective and unintentional that gave her that idea?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations re Joy’s pure heart but please explain what Jesus wants with all those kids. Plus a zillion more kids all over the world. Probably there are a lot of sister moms helping him.
ReplyDeleteJesus loves kids. And the teens and adults they grow up to be.
DeleteI am soooooo confused is Justine a Duggar stepsibling? She acts or tries to like she knows them on a personal basis. Somebody PLEASEV EXPLAIN
