Jana (Duggar) Wissmann and Stephen Wissmann have been married for six months, and Jana has been providing life updates on her YouTube account. Her most recent video documents her honeymoon, which was spent in both Arkansas and Saint Lucia, and her move to Nebraska.
Jana doesn't know how to cook?! There's no excuse for that. Michelle didn't do her job as a mother and Jana didn't do her job as a future wife. All 19 of those kids should know how to cook since they have a SAHM, are homeschooled, and are required to live at home until marriage. Cooking is a basic skill that's needed daily by everyone. They made a big deal of showing that these girls knew how to change the oil in a car, but they didn't teach them how to cook? No excuse.
ReplyDeleteNot every one likes to cook 🤷♀️
DeleteTwo people who know how to cook can marry each other.
DeleteJust to clarify...that Duggar episode about the girls changing the oil in a car was a scripted episode about them LEARNING how to do this. They didn't have any idea about such "boy" things and still have no knowledge of this.
DeleteMichelle was a very uninspiring cook. She made plain ramen noodles for the kids and claimed the noodles were "full of protein," remember? There were also a lot of restaurant take-out bags a lot, especially if they had people over.
DeleteI'm sure Jana knew how to cook basic recipes, after all she stayed home with younger kids when her parents went on trips last few years,we have seen that various times on this blog,,I'm sure she will learn to cook the more difficult recipes in no time,Stephen will have thaught her how to cook that spaghetti bolognese I'm sure and as she lives close to her mother in law she would have thaught her to cook also,I'm sure she's an expert by now, same happened to me when I married as I only knew basic recipes like roasting and frying but my inlaws thaught me all the rest
DeleteJana had other interests and can do so much. I admire her and all her abilities. She'll be a great cook. You need to calm down.
Delete@6:08 No, I agree that Jana should have learned how to cook long before this. The Duggars and others like them make huge deals out of their daughters being raised to be wives and mothers and nothing else. That means concentrating on the skills you need to do the job you're given so that you're ready someday. The way Jana laughs in the video about needing a cooking class shows that somewhere, someone didn't do their job preparing her for this basic skill.
DeleteAll that homemade stuff stopped happening when the show money started rolling in. Then it was off for fast food and coffee while Mom was on another a book or speaking tour. When have we not seen the girls out at a restaurant or holding a coffee-to-go cup? Much easier than cooking at home.
DeleteI agree. I’m shocked but Jana wasn’t the only one who claimed she couldn’t cook after getting married. I was under the impression that Michelle relied upon the older girls to cook and help out in the kitchen. You know, traditional female roles. Not sure what happened there. But you never hear the boys complain they can’t change a tire or do an oil change, after getting married.
DeleteWho was it that turned the stove on with the instruction book inside after she was married? Jessa? And I remember the changing oil episode as them trying to show that their daughters could do anything, even "boy" stuff. In skirts!!
DeleteI find original comment, hilarious. My oldest is 33 and she doesn't cook, does that mean as her mom I failed her? Seriously. My sister in law is 62 and her husband does the cooking. Get a grip.
DeleteThe honeymoon really looked classic! They make a perfect couple! When they finally came back to earth and were at home in their renovated kitchen cooking up a supper, that was pretty classic too! (Stephen never has to do that just for himself again!)
ReplyDeleteYes, meals are included. Sandals resorts are all-inclusive.
DeleteSome meals that are more fancy may cost money. There are good included options. We went to sandals kintego bay and loved it. We woupd go back. We were going to go to the Sandals and St lucia but went on an African safari instead.
Looked like a fun relaxing place for honeymoon..I’ve seen sandals advertised on tv..but it was nice to see the layout, I wonder if meals are included. What a sweet couple, how fun to be using your beautiful kitchen.
ReplyDeleteSandals is an all inclusive resort.
DeleteI don't understand why Jana is posting is such slow-motion!!! She's been married six months and just posted her honeymoon. At first I thought maybe they took a delayed honeymoon, and went this month, but no, it was last August!!!! Current content would be much more interesting.
ReplyDeleteShe's busy having a life with her husband??
DeleteSt Lucia is so beautiful, so happy they got away for special time together. Wish she would do a questions and answers....of course everyone would be nosey and ask the baby question. Yes, we want to know their plans but really so many other questions; how do you like married life, how do you like Nebraska, do you miss your family, how is your house coming along.
ReplyDeleteI noticed she said she needed a cooking class....and here I thought all the Duggar women learned to cook.
They had nobody to show them how to cook anything other than what you could toss together fast and cheap and in bulk. This is what happens when you go for quantity over quality. Yes you might make a fortune thanks to a TV producer, but look what gets sacrificed. Dinner, and a whole lot more...
DeleteJana had plenty of time while living in her "little house" to learn to cook for 1 or 2. If that shed or trailer or whatever it was didn't have a stove, she could have walked across the yard and used the stoves in the main house. She could have taught herself. With everything else she was proud of knowing how to do, it's a wonder cooking wasn't on that list. We'll probably see a video next of her cooking a 5-course meal, to try to show that she didn't really mean what she said in this video. There will be back-peddling.
DeleteAt least hanging up blinds is a step above watching paint dry.
ReplyDeleteHere’s hoping Sadie is enjoying her 3rd birthday!
DeleteYep. Nothing much to do in Nebraska
DeleteSadie?
DeleteI wish people on this site would quit badmouthing the other states (1:58 pm). I find these comments quite rude and uninformed. EVERY state has beautiful and exciting things to see and do.
Delete11:45AM: The only person that has a birthday March 3rd is Joshua, and I'm sure nobody wants to send him any good wishes. Otherwise, who is Sadie?
DeleteSadie is also the name of the girl Tyler’s engaged to.
DeleteAt 7:34, is Tyler engaged to a three year old? lil
Delete7:34. Don't be silly. People mag did not give her age . . . but she looks to be 17or so.
DeleteWas wonderful to see them so happy and enjoying their honeymoon. Wishing them every joy imaginable. Cooking together is so much fun. 😊
ReplyDeleteWent to Saint Lucia for my honeymoon 40 years ago this June . Happy they had a great time.
ReplyDeleteOf course not everyone likes to cook, but there is ‘cooking’ and then there’s putting supper on the table. Jana doesn’t need to know how to make Beef Wellington etc. but come on ……browning ground meat, boiling noodles and opening a jar of sauce ( if you don’t easily make your own) and tossing a salad is putting food on the table for your family. That’s easy enough, no? It’s not rocket science. It’s called making an effort.
ReplyDeleteI don't need to cook my new husband does it tee hee hee
Delete1:07, I'm glad you don't need to cook your new husband. 😄 I know you left out a comma, but it turned into a funny read.
DeleteHere's hoping that Hannah & Jeremiah are both enjoying their 3rd Anniversary!!!!! (Posted by Here's Hoping.)
