Love is in the air, and another Duggar wedding is in the works! Jason Duggar, 24, just asked his girlfriend, Maddie Grace, to marry him, and she said yes. Jason, who is No. 12 in the Duggar lineup. proposed on the beach.
Tyler no longer lives with them, I believe. And did he get engaged or something too? I thought there was Tyler news out there awhile ago. Someone who knows, chime in.
Congratulations you two! I'm so happy another Duggar boy is marrying a girl who isn't a part of the whole IBLP and dares to wear pants (shorts in this case in the photos in the article). This will make the fifth Duggar boy who has broken tradition not marrying a girl JB would hand pick for his son's to be the perfect obedient modest skirts and dresses wearing wife. Only Josh and Joseph married traditional IBLP girls and have popped out 7 and 5? kids while the other boys have 2 to 4 or no kids yet.
Why do people think having lots of kids is IBLP? Hello folks couples having lots of kids/not using bc has been around for thousands of years!!!!! The idea is NOT original with Gothard, oh and so people don't tell me "Oh but bc wasn't around/available all those years ago", yes it was. seriously you'd be shocked at what kind of methods were already around centuries ago that people were most certainly aware of and employed them.
Neddy Constant I agree with you said about The original idea of bill Gothard Said have many kids. Even King George 3rd had 13 kids. Time 3:36AM Sun 9/15/24
To 9:03,you are so right. My grandmother on my Mom's side had 16. They counted their days to track ovulation to try and avoid a pregnancy. Now obviously it didn't always prevent a pregnancy lol but the point is they were neither IBLP nor Baptist. Their particular religion didn't support birth control of any kind either but they decided for themselves. Some people just want a big family regardless of what religion they are or not. Nothing wrong in that whatsoever unless they expect other people to support them financially. Your kids, your responsibility. I will never understand why people on here get so bent out of shape over how many kids another person has or why they have them. I've always believed it was a personal choice. I also don't think any church should have any say in it either. They aren't the ones raising, feeding and clothing those children, you are. If you can afford them great. If you can't then I just can't see Jesus wanting you to have some anyway just to see them starve.
The Duggars are constantly having weddings or babies, but at least some of the adult children are coming out into their own. Very refreshing to see especially despite the colt upbringing the Duggar parents tried to promote. And after watching the first two episodes of Shinny Happy Duggars, I think it's a good thing they no longer have a TV Show. I'll follow some of the adult children who've stepped away of all of this, but I can't follow the whole family and the parents who still chose to promote these tactics.
@7:14 Curious about how do you see them as coming out into their own. I think they have the same core beliefs as their parents, the same thoughts about things, and really aren't that far from their upbringing in personal life or church life. Just because they might wear pants and shorts doesn't change much. If you step away from IBLP, you can still be following another church that will have hold of your thinking.
I really don't like to fight people about differing opinions on the comments. I have my own opinions and you have your yours. You may not see what I am seeing or choose to ignore it and that's okay. Let's just please be respectful of everyone's comments. Be respectful of what a person may choose to comment on whether you believe in it or not.
Just because many of them have ditched Jim Bob and Michelle's "dress code" doesn't mean they've moved away from IBLP teachings. Jinger and Jeremy may talk a good game, but they remain acceptable and participate in family doings. The only one who has actually made a real move is Jill and she's treated like an outcast.
To everyone who made a comment about my comment, I'm not here to fight you. I'm just here to share my own opinion. You can agree or you can disagree, but please be respectful of the people who choose to share their own thoughts and opinions. I'm glad that Jill's making a move away from the IBLP teaching while finding another sensible way towards God and that's my opinion. I'll continue to support her regardless. It's just a shame she's been distanced from her family in doing so. They should continue to love and support her regardless of her choice of religion.
Congratulations, Jason Michael and Maddie Grace. My dad and I can't wait to see your wedding in the spring of 2025. We pray you two have a wonderful future together. I'm still praying for a spinoff. We miss everyone.

ReplyDeleteI wish them the best.

ReplyDeleteIDK. At the rate Jed and Katey are pumping out kids, they seem to be traditional IBLP.

Natalie it is very unlikely there will be a spin off following all the negative press the family has generated.
DeleteThat's Natasha b
DeleteWas just curious if anyone knows how old Maddie is? She seems very nice!
ReplyDeleteJason's summons is just as interesting as his engagement. Why no mention?
ReplyDeleteIt seems they were a bit secretive about this engagement. The latest news is that they're getting married October 3.
