Catch Up With 6 Duggar Sisters

"Even if we don't necessarily agree on everything, a lot of us are non-confrontational, and we can still enjoy each other's company and have differences."

-Joy Forsyth

With the Duggars' TV show off the air, it's been a while since fans have heard from Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's younger children. Join Joy Forsyth and Jana Duggar and their four youngest sisters (Johannah Duggar, Jennifer Duggar, Jordyn Duggar, and Josie Duggar) for a Q & A session at the Forsyths' house, during which the ladies cover a wide variety of topics. Johannah reveals that she hopes to improve her construction skills and her Spanish, Josie mentions learning to jump her pony, and Jana talks about serving her siblings by helping them with house projects. And if you look closely, there is a small, white animal camouflaged on one of the blankets.

  1. What a refreshing video of you lovely young ladies. You all did a great job of expressing yourself with such a fun game. I feel Jim Duggar was right in not allowing the negative pair of Jill and Derrick into the big house to cause chaos when they were in such a destructive season of life. I suppose they let them in this Christmas because they saw a more calming of the spirit. It took me awhile to recognize the white lamb on the blanket..have fun with your animals, Jennifer.

    1. There’s nothing wrong with Jill and Derrick!

    2. I think it was mostly Derick. Jill was brought up to be an obedient wife who follows her husband, so that's what she does - following her husband's lead. And I agree that the parents did the right think to not allow the destructive couple around their younger children.

      Delete
    3. @12:30 How could Derick lead his family knowing what his wife had gone through and not say anything? We should all speak up when we witness something that's not right! That's not being "destructive," that's being truthful and brave.

      Delete
    4. Derek is a trouble maker.. the girls.in the video are obviously doing fine. They're all growing, and healthy and happy. Jill can be happy with her family away from them but it's her loss

      Delete
    5. 9:04 well said.. Derek is a trouble maker and there is nothing brave or noble about the disrespect he has shown towards the Duggar parents.

      Delete
    6. @9:04 Exactly how is Derick making trouble? He won't toe the Gothard line with the rest of his in-laws? I don't see that as a bad thing at all.

      Delete
    7. @12:30. I agree wholeheartedly. Derrick and Jill are and have spoken the truth.

    8. 1:57 yes, back to this video..these little girls appear to have grown into such lovely young ladies. With all the tragedies that surrounded them regarding Josh and then Jill with all her negative feedback, it is refreshing to see how the parents invested in the four younger girls during these crises, and they appear to be thriving. Hats off to Jim and Michelle for staying focused on raising the little girls with all the heartache they had to deal with, you are such a great testimony to us fellow Christians.

    9. @4:28 How do you know that everything is as perfect as you're describing?

      Delete
    10. 4:28 really? Usually the parents are eager to be in the spotlight to make money. But when they get called out, they suddenly want to hide and settle things privately.

      Delete
    11. 4:28..definitely some good points.raising four little ones under any circumstances is a challenge, but considering the heartaches they have encountered it is inspirational to see them triumph over the trials..Im sure they give God all the credit for their strength.

    1. Jill had the right to be confrontational though. Her parents needed to be called out for what they did.

  3. Our prayers to the family that all is well. I liked the video but my Dad and I and lots of fans really miss the Duggars and extended family members. We are hoping and praying to have another spin off of some kind back on cable TV and other devices. Duggars please let me and other fans know? Natasha b

  4. Michael and/or Tyler tore the head off Josie's American Girl doll? Where is the discipline this family was supposed to have? Kids often act out like that when they have personal issues, too. Not a good thing to hear about.

    1. Children destroying things or hurting things is a big cry for help.

      Delete
    2. No, that's what kids do lol. It doesn't mean nothing. Some kids strap their toys to fireworks.

      Delete
    3. Wait a minute. Who are you to judge when you clearly don't have children and siblings? You may of had a very concerning upbringing yourself. You can discipline a child, but that's not always gonna stop them from being a kid and doing what kids do. This is normal behavior. We don't know if and how they disciplined them. But I know one thing, kids cut their dolls hair and write on their faces. Typical brothers teasing their sisters. Stuff like that. I can't even tell you how many dolls of mine was missing limbs from being rough or my brother stealing them to make half human robot figurines. People these don't know normalcy. They think everything means something. They look for any reason to bring their child to a doctor or psychologist. A lot of it is because they want a check off their child. Grow up.

      Delete
    4. Without a doubt, OP is a gen x.

      Delete
    5. The story about the doll makes me think that everything isn't as idyllic in the Duggar household as the sisters are saying in the video. In a large family, not everyone always gets along perfectly.

      Delete
    6. Isn't he the adopted kid too? It sounds like there are issues

      Delete
    7. Tyler wasn't adopted, he was placed with the Duggars as his guardians for awhile. I believe he has left that house now. It may be "common" behavior among children to destroy things, but it's not "normal" behavior or acceptable behavior. If your children are doing that or being mean to each other, you need to step in and get to the bottom of it. It's called parenting and straightening out bad behavior before it gets worse.

      Delete
    8. @8:11 It's evident that there should've been more attention paid to the deviant behavior of the eldest Duggar, rather than making excuses and minimizing it.

      Delete
    9. Fourteen is way too old for dolls. I actually think it's hilarious that one of the boys wrecked it.

      Delete
    10. It's not hilarious to be destructive of someone else's property.

      Delete
    11. Some of you all don't have kids and it shows big time. Its normal child behavior and I am sure they correct the situation. Its not really for us to worry about since he's not our own kid.

      Delete
    12. You are so mistaken 8:06. We have kids and we don't let them behave that way! It is for us to worry about, since it's every parent's responsibility to discipline their kids, and society's problem when the parents don't.

      Delete
    13. 6:52 kids are not perfect and need to be corrected. Yours must live in fear if they don't do nothing.

      Delete
    14. There is a difference between "letting" your kid do something and not knowing they are doing it at the time and dealing with it afterward. Parents can't keep an eye on their kids 24/7, it's physically impossible. Kids do things when other people aren't looking or get mischievous ideas with other kids. Some kids are afraid to do anything wrong, and some don't care about consequences or think the risk is worth it. Even well-behaved kids can have their moments. Parenting should be pro-active, yes, but sonetimes it's reactive. And better look out if you think you are the perfect parent. Your turn is coming!

      Delete
    15. What good is it then to let your kids be "sister moms" in "buddy teams" if the pre-teen kids are doing bad stuff like that themselves? Plus I thought the Duggar kids studied the Bible every day and knew right from wrong and consequences. That isn't enough moral lessons?

      Delete
    16. Our children have jurisdiction chores and schoolwork that keep them busy.
      Our children study the Bible.
Our children are taught to put others ahead of themselves.
Our children are taught not to get angry at anyone.
Our children are taught not to raise their voices.
Our children watch out for their younger siblings.
      Our children...
Does any of this sound familiar?

      Delete
    17. Re 12:27 What they forgot to say was that their children still mess up. Rather big time, wouldn't you say? The only time they talked about the kids specifically doing something bad was the jewelry box thing. I wish they would have been more honest about what it's like raising kids who do bad things.

      Delete
    18. 4:20 they do, but children are still going to be children. They are still learning and young minds haven't fully grasp the Bible. And its totally normal for the eldest siblings to help with the younger ones.

      Delete
    19. 12:27, that is what Jim Bob and Michelle said, not the next generation of parents.

  6. Jana, at 34 yrs old, seemed out of place here with the younger sisters. This woman really needs to be shown more respect than she gets from her parents and family. This is how it appears to the public, as YES, I do not know her or her family....but this is the impression they give.

    1. I agree with you. The age gap between a 34 y/o and high school age girls really shows here. None of the younger girls seem to have any plans to engage in any sort of career which I thought was rather sad. Obsiously they see marriage as their career.

      Delete
    2. Did you not hangout with your younger siblings?

      Delete
    3. Since when is spending time with your younger siblings and having being a wife and full time mother a bad thing? Good grief if more moms were home raising their own kids maybe we wouldn't have gangs of youth robbing stores, shooting each other, stealing cars, disrespecting others and their country. Stay at home moms made all the difference in society along with men and woman keeping their marriages together. Look at the decay of society now that kids are raising themselves. You stay at home moms are vital to this country and I salute each and every one of you who chose that as your life goal.

      Delete
    4. 8:14, are you seriously saying that working moms are bad for the country?! They do so much for the country through their work! What about mothers who work as teachers, doctors, engineers, and first responders? My mom worked full-time. I’ve never done anything illegal and I certainly don’t disrespect my country.

      Delete
    5. @8:14 In one breath, people say moms should stay home. In another breath, they say how "bad" the economy is and how everything is more expensive. So what are moms supposed to do, especially single moms? Stay home and not earn any money to support their families? If they did that and went on gov't assistance, people would still complain! I guess the solution is to assign a man to every household to earn income for them, whether he's related or not. That might take care of the problem of gang members having too much time on their hands. Gee, I think I just solved society! You're welcome!

      Delete
    6. 8:14 sadly that's all you see. Public schools have become a new shop. They can easily purchase these things from other students who parents don't care about their child.

      Delete
    7. Stay at home moms are just as smart as working moms. They make the best teachers (for the most part)

      Delete
    8. 8:14 Please explain sth : for THOUSANDS OF YEARS women were stay-at-home moms. Yet for thousands of years, there have been murders, rapes, kidnappings, rights, burglaries, theft, larceny, arson, gangs, mafias, crooks, adultères, abusive spouses, abusive parents, ETC. How Come ? It doesn't fit with your reasoning...

      Delete
    9. @8:14 If you think society is "decayed" now you should have been around in the Middle Ages. Worst violence you can imagine. Actually, I can't think of any time in the history of humans that didn't have its social problems. Look at animals - even they fight. It's inherent. Taking women out of the work force is not going to solve anything.

  7. It depends on the circumstances though. Jim Bob and Michelle was also non-confrontational which led to Josh's downfall.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. 8:43AM: Jim Bob and Michelle's parenting did not lead to Josh's downfall. Josh has a sick mind, leading him to deviant behaviour. Most times pedophilia can't be cured by doctors, never mind disciplined by parents.

      Delete
    2. Re 11:21 - Yes, but unfortunately, the Duggars wanted all of us, at the time the first scandal broke, to believe that Josh was a changed man and would never do anything bad again. That was the entire basis of their wanting sympathy and wanting to stay on the air, remember? It was over, Josh was forgiven, Josh repented, and everyone was moving on to a happier future with this problem behind them... How many viewers doubted that and were waiting to see what happened next? How many of us knew that the parents didn't handle it properly?

      Delete
    3. I thought "the wages of sin is death," not going to stay with a friend for awhile. The Duggars seem to have forgotten some handy Bible verses.

      Delete
    4. 7:21, we're ALL sinners and ALL deserve death, which is why Jesus came to die on the cross to take the death penalty for the world. That applies to us as well as Josh.

      Delete
    5. 7:21, that handy Bible verse is talking about what we ALL deserve, plus you left out the second part. Context is important. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

      Delete
    6. 6:30 Amen..the gift of God is eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord. We have to accept the risen Lord and repent of our sins. Another good verse..I am the resurrection and the life..he that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live..and he that liveth and believeth in me shall never die….

  19. Funny Joy would say something like that when "differences" are the very reason the Duggars have kept to their own kind and judged others unlike them. Why would they need to form their own church at home and socialize or do business with church friends exclusively? Why would they criticize what others wear or how they live? "Nike," and Jana went so far as to Photoshop skirts onto girls wearing shorts in one of her social media photos. "We can still enjoy each other's company and have differences." Yes, if those differences are that you like Twix A and the other person likes Twix B. But beyond that, we'd need proof in order to believe that statement.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Jana did not mess with photos. I am not sure where you got your info from.

      Delete
    2. I agree with you. Their "differences" are pretty superficial. Maybe what the like to eat or wear but beyond that they strictly adhere to the same beliefs, social group and follow the same pathway in life. None of them ever really branch out on their own and make life decisions that aren't approved by their parents.

      Delete
    3. They never judged people outside their own family.

      Delete
    4. @3:34 There were photos on Jana's social media that were obviously doctored to add skirts. Can't believe you didn't see that. It was right on her account.

      Delete
    5. @8:57, you have got to be kidding me! The Duggars and many conservative Christians are some of the most judgmental people alive! 9:20 is right about the photoshopping also. It was all over the news back in 2019.

      Delete
    6. 8:57 What do you call the behavior of people who make their children look down at their shoes and have a special code word for that moment, because they don't approve of how someone outside their family is dressed? You certainly don't call that being open-minded and accepting. Covering up the TV screen is another example of that.

      Delete
    7. @3:42 Right. It's a pity they think of those superficial things as "differences." If they would truly examine themselves, they would see they're completely isolated from others by their parents. There are your differences, kids. I'd love to see just one of them hack it at a public school or college. They would not be prepared for what they found. "Differences" that other people take in stride and accept - different faiths, different backgrounds, different family situations. When you teach your children that "different" is "worse" or "not as wholesome," then you set the groundwork for global conflicts.

      Delete
    8. You guys obviously did not read their book. They hung out with families like the Robertson's who dress pretty modern in very short Louisiana shorts. If they really judged that harshly, the parents wouldn't had allowed Sadie to visit them.

      Delete
    9. @641 exactly! They seem to keep it between them which doesn't make it better. Anyone outside the family, they won't say nothing.

      Delete
    10. @6:41 Experiences like that are perfect times to point out what others are doing wrong or how they are failing - after they leave, of course. I saw it a hundred times. Smile and be gracious to them to show how "sweet" you are, but then talk behind their backs.

    11. Who is Sadie?

      Delete
    12. 9:50 you saw it, but you didn't speak up?

    13. @5:42 You don't get it. You can't speak up as a child/teen. You have no power over the adults.

      Delete
    14. They look down when someone is dressed inappropriately so they don't have impure thoughts about the woman. As for Conservative Christians being judgemental, good! God gave people a brain and common sense for discernment. There is a book in the Bible called Judges. Read it

      Delete
    15. 10:07 the Bible does not tell us to judge others. That's between them and the Lord. Jesus never judged a sinner right off, he talked to them. You live by his example. You show them love and mercy. Not hatred and a gavel. I did this so many times, and led people to the Lord. Your way will have people running.

      Delete
    16. Everyone judges..don't give me that malarkey. When you see a large group of people walking down the street cursing at people and hitting them, what will you do? Go up to them, or walk away quickly? You're making a judgement call!
