Duggars Abroad

A group of Duggars recently took a trip overseas! Their final destination was Rome, but James had a layover in London. He uploaded a video to YouTube, for those who would like to see footage of his adventure.

James Duggar: Unexpected Trip to London (Video)

  1. Why do the Duggars turn so clueless when taken out of Arkansas? James didn't know what "state" he was in while in London, what those horses were doing, why the car was so small, etc. etc. etc. He just stumbled around the city, filming weird things (dead bird, ditched scooter) and complaining.

    1. He needs to stay in flyover country with that attitude. How embarrassing!

    2. Yeah. What a bad attitude. My sister and niece went to Scotland and also spent a couple of days in London. They didn't have that sort of attitude and enjoyed their visit so much.

    3. It's a shame, because he could have learned so much if he had taken the time to think or research online instead of laughing at things.

    4. 1:57 You're right. It is embarrassing. Grown men shouldn't act like that.

    5. It seems he die not know there is a whole world outside the USA

    6. Why do you guys always make nasty remarks, leave James along he's probably never been their before

    7. It's embarrassing to see grown adults accuse another adult of bad behavior lol. I don't see it in the video at all. Stop reaching for something.

    8. @8:23 Did you watch the right video?

      Delete
    9. 10:32 and 7:24 did y'all really watch it?

  2. With so many wonderful things to see and do in London, James wastes his time doing this? How sad.

    1. The view from the London Eye is cool, I'll give him that much. But they whipped right past the museum. They didn't have to go any further than that. Could have spent the whole day there, easily.

    2. Tbh London is really not all that great.

      Delete
    3. @5:21 Right. A city nearly 2000 years old with a mile-long list of famous people born or living there, a city that endured a great fire and multiple attempts at obliteration, including a nerve-rattling 9-month blitz over 80 years ago, a city that has the most amazing architecture, the world's first underground railway, and top-class museums...is not all that great. They did have that icky plague in 1665 you know.

    4. @5:21. Have you ever actually been there? I loved going to London back in 2017 and can't wait to go back for a second time in April.

    5. London is still not great and will never be.

    6. London isny favorite city in the world. I was lucky enough to be an intern there and visited it before and After on many occasions. So many beautiful sights, historical visits, cultural offres, shopping opportunities, great restaurants, amazing museums, incredible markets, fabulous buildings... And fantastic people. I can't wait to go back!

  3. I can't believe James was in a London pub where alcohol and forbidden music are! Maybe he'll be the next one to write a book about breaking free.

    1. How about you get to the point and say no matter what the Duggars do you are not going to be happy about it. Be honest.

    2. Yeah for kids who weren't allowed to listen to a musical toy in a thrift store because it wasn't the "right" kind of music and could encourage dancing, rules sure have gone out the old van window.

    3. I don't recall ever seeing a Duggar in a bar before. That was a first.

    1. Both England and Scotland does not have that great of food.

      Delete
    2. 5:22 Whatever do you mean? Have you been to any of those countries? They have plenty of farm land and access to the same types of food the US does - meat, produce, dairy, and so on. Their beef is amazing, from old lines of cattle that are mainly grass-fed. They are surrounded by seas of fresh fish. They have fine restaurants and chefs who can cook. You don't have to go to Britain and eat nothing but bubble and squeak or haggis! Now the Duggar kids are in Italy. Need I say more about great food choices?

      Delete
    3. Anon 5:22. Nonsense. And when you're in another country you should at least TRY the local cuisine. And don't try to tell they don't have GREAT food in Italy.

      Delete
    4. Anon 5:22. When someone makes that sort of generalization, I know they haven't actually made any effort to try different types of food. Not everything in England and Scotland may be to your taste but that doesn't mean it's "bad" or that they don't have good food there. My niece makes the best pasties ever.

      Delete
    5. 5:22. I loved the food in England and Scotland. They have every cuisine possible now. The scones and tea are the best!

    6. Remember the faces the Duggars made when they had to eat Japanese food in Japan?!

    7. 9:02 Italy and Sicily has great food. But I am just being honest. England and Ireland does not have great food. I am talking traditional foods and pastries. They don't season nothing. Now I been to the pubs in Ireland and they had good food but I wouldn't recommend the restaurants there either.

      Delete
    8. 8:39 I am going to tell you the same thing and yes I have been there a few times with my family. They do not season their food. You don't even know how much money we spent on what was suppose to be grand meal at very expensive restaurants. I even tried Haggis. I am not afraid to try anything but again flavorless. It lightly tasted like bread dressing we get in a box here. I tried meat pies and pastries but they was so soggy and unseasoned. The only good thing I found good to eat in England was the Mr. Kipling cakes. That's it. My family would eat them for breakfast lol.

    9. Alternating with pizza.

    10. It's not exactly nonsense. I've heard that about English food quite a bit, including from people I know personally who've spent time there.

      Delete
    11. @5:59 Mr. Kipling is really good! lol. I love the peach fancies.

      Delete
    12. Well at least you have something to write home about 5:49. James can only tell you about hamburgers. P.S. Don't tell Jamie Oliver or Gordon Ramsay that the English don't season their food. You'll be sorry.

    13. @ Anyone who has doubts about English food. My family had friends in England (and Scotland) all their lives - since my father was a little boy. Except for the war years when some foods were scarce, they ate well. (We sent them food packages after the war when ships could deliver again but rationing had not ended yet - things like canned meats and dried fruits). One of the most memorable meals I ever had was the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding they cooked for me when I visited. So delicious. So were the local fish & chips. You can't get anything like them in the US. The English baked goods are out of this world too. The things they can do with cakes!

      Delete
    14. Re 10:31 Little history lesson. Fish was not rationed during or after WW2. Nor were most home-grown vegetables. That's when fish & chips became so popular. That was considered working-class food but during and after the war the upper classes had to make do with the fish too.

  6. Why Rome? Why February? Why James & Elijah? Why Jed & Katy & 1 and 1/2 babies in tow? Nothing makes sense.

    1. Because they wanted to see Rome. Why does anyone want to go there?

    2. Maybe they were looking for earthquake damage but took a wrong turn.

    3. With earthquakes, fighting, and now a new high-level warning from the US State Dept. for Americans to leave Russia, I wouldn't be a tourist right now any further than my own back yard.

    4. The timing is quite interesting, considering the recent release of Jinger's book and all the press she's getting. I wouldn't doubt that JB foot the bill for the trip in order to get them away from the fallout.

      Delete
    5. It's not Jinger's book tour that JB would be concerning himself with right now. Wrong child. It was appeal hearing week.

  7. I sacrificed so that my son could have a semester abroad when he was in college. I'm so grateful he didn't act like this. He travelled as much as he could and brought back hundreds of pictures of all the wonderful places he visited while in Europe. James surely doesn't appreciate his opportunity.

  8. At least he didn't try to put flamingos on the palace lawn, or poke at the guard the way his father did. But it's not Arkansas, son. Show some respect.

  9. I've decided that the Duggars are proud of their image of being "hicks from the sticks" and that's why they engage in these sorts of antics when travelling abroad.

  10. Them traveling to England and doing business makes my heart happy because it gives my people money as we are strugging over here. Thank you Duggars.

  11. I haven’t been able to comment on my favourite blog for over a year. Every time I tried signing in it wouldn’t allow me to do so. Was very much missing people who had become like friends over the years. Then all of a sudden today it allows me to sign in again. Hope you are both well lily & Ellie & all the blog readers are too.

  12. Wow. Why such petty comments, people? He's 21 years old on a spur-of-the-moment extended layover. Both he and his friend were tired and making the best of their day in London. If you aren't enjoying the video, there's no need to belittle some one, just turn it off. James, thank you for sharing - hope you and your family are having a wonderful time in Rome!

    1. Traveling is extremely safe to most places! I would not visit Ukraine or Russia right now for obvious reasons but the war isn't in London! Stop with the exaggerated scare tactics.

    2. When is there NOT unrest or danger somewhere in the world?

      Delete
    3. It's not even safe to go to the store these days with all the lunatics with guns out there. I guess the Duggars don't care about taking a risk.
