  1. I like the interview. Jinger is a strong woman and I respect her. I hope a lot of the readers will buy her book, I know I will.

  2. I quit going to my parents' church when I was in high school and became free indeed. Should I be on TV? Does everyone want to hear my story? No?

    1. She was on TV years prior to the book and that's how she got published. Some people got their story books through YT. Calm down.

    2. If someone offers you money to write a book or be in a show, I guess you can decide.

  3. This has turned into the "Jinger Show". I think the book may sell well. Although I don't believe it was intended to be a "tell all" book, it sheds a strong light on the IBLP culture and the negative effects it has on young people who are raised in that belief system. Perhaps Jinger's siblings will read the book and do a little soul searching of their own.

    1. The Jinger show? Wow. I can read between the lines of that but yeah she stated in a interview this is not really a tell-all. This is about her leaving IBLP.

    2. I think she still has a lot of childhood baggage to unpack and I don't think doing it publicly like this is the way to go. Has she talked to a professional counselor, or anyone other than Jeremy and his church?

    3. @8:53 By going public, she's exposing the corruption of ILBP and doing other people a huge service. Perhaps it's her way of helping the siblings who are still a part of it.

    4. 8:53 AM - I think the book speaks for itself. She gave herself help. And she might be helping a lot of other people stuck in the same place she was so...

  4. Both the Duggars and Bates were trained throuth the iblp, right? The Duggar family really seems to be very negatively affected by it more so than the Bates

    1. Although the two families have common beliefs, the family dynamics seem quite different. Gil and Kelly come across as far less rigid and controlling. Their children appeared to be free to date, go places and do things on their own without constant supervision. They also seemed to choose their mates on their own instead of it being an arrangement between the two sets of parents. As adults the Bates seem much more independent than the Duggars do.

  6. How long until will we hear about a libel and/or slander lawsuit from IBLP? Unless she really didn't tell all...

    1. There's no dropping a lawsuit from that because what she spoke was the truth. Read the book. Plus Gothard has already been exposed.

    2. IBLP has enough problems without filing a lawsuit over a book that didn't directly attack them.

    3. I think the reason she doesn't come right out and call the IBLP a cult is from fear of a lawsuit.

  7. I really respect Jinger for finding her own voice and her lawn way! Being an adult is totally this. I love how she explained how she found her own answers to her questions. She did exactly how and what any healthy young adult should do. Find THEIR OWN VOICE and their own answers! So as a parent, she can now teach her children what he morals and values are and that's she understands and believes them. Any adult child only following their parents ways to just make them proud and happy are using their parents voice. They don't or havnt found their own yet.

    1. Sorry, but to me she sounds confused and anxious about offending someone with what she says or believes. She's trying to please everyone else BUT herself. If she really had her OWN voice, the book wouldn't have been written "with help," Jeremy wouldn't be present in the background at her interviews, and she wouldn't tread so lightly on the topics of her family, her upbringing, and her brother. She's still nervously trying to make everyone around her happy. I've known plenty of people like that. They're all struggling terribly internally while trying to be sweet externally. Not a good mix.

    2. 8:50 AM - That is your opinion but if you actually read the book you know. She also says she knows Jeremy is going to get the blame for it. He just opened her eyes and she finally seen that Bill was not reading from the bible.

    3. I think Jinger is still stuck in that Keep Sweet mode that was drummed into her as a child. All these video interviews point that way.

    4. I can't believe the way she can't bring herself to say what a cult is and how what she was in was a cult. It ticks all the boxes. I don't know how she could write a book about becoming free yet claim to not know about cults.
