Forsyth party of five! Joy-Anna and Austin Forysth just announced that they are expecting a baby in May. They found out while on an Alaskan getaway (without kids) a few weeks ago. The video of that moment, as well as an update on Joy's heath, is on YouTube. When baby arrives, Gideon will be five and three months, and Evelyn will be about three months short of turning three.

Congratulations! Prayers going up for a healthy baby and Mom.
ReplyDeleteAt least she's admitting that she's high risk and she's using a real medical facility (I hope), not a "midwife" family member or just "trusting" all will be OK.
ReplyDeleteJoy was receiving medical care when she miscarried her second pregnancy. Until the loss there was no reason for concern. She had no complications with Evelyn and the "high risk" is precautionary. Your comments sounds accusatory. Joy did nothing wrong when she lost her baby, the sad truth is a loss can happen during a picture perfect pregnancy.
DeleteIt's their choice on birth plan. The midwives you are talking about goes through the same training as the ones you get in the hospital. These days you get staph infections so easy in hospitals. You should look at the new levels of that before you knock it.
DeleteIt's every woman's choice. Midwives are safe as long as they've done the correct schooling. Ask questions so you know what they know. Personally, I'd only go to a hospital if I needed a c section.
Delete@3:31 The "midwife family member" does not have the same level of training as a midwife who works with a hospital. Jill was never allowed to practice in a hospital in the US because she lacked the proper training. That was fully discussed at the time and you can look it up in the Arkansas rules for midwives.
Delete@3:31 Risks are present for both hospital or home births. Joy having had a second trimester loss will be delivered in a hospital and most likely by a physician not a midwife. Liability insurance dictates how high risk pregnancies are managed.
DeleteHospitals do a lot of things different than these days since they are low on staff. I can tell you don't work in a maternity ward or haven't visited one of late. Those midwives you are talking down about are the same ones hospitals have on call and work between shifts in the hospital so they always have someone to step in just in case their regular obstetricians are unavailable and they can't get to their patients birth in time. They work hard between shifts going from the hospitals and birthing centers and/or homes. They have the same training and are fully capable.
DeleteI got a staph infection when I had to get fluid drained off my knee, @3:31! There are so many others that got staph infections going to the hospitals. It's ridiculous anymore.
DeleteBecause the hospitals are not as clean as they use to be due to being low on staff. Sad but true. However, it's not like this at every hospital but stay clear from places like saint francis.
DeleteGuys, there's a big difference between a midwife that works in a hospital and the type of midwife that's a family member. Every state has requirements for midwives who are allowed to work in hospitals, and other less-qualified midwives are not allowed. Low staffing has not made states relax these requirements.
Delete9:25 AM - Untrue. You need to read up on that more.
Delete5:27 PM - Exactly! I have so new babies in my family and they was delivered by midwives on call that don't technically work in the hospital because of how bad the staffing is and they did better! At my local hospital they been doing this for 2 years since the start of the pandemic.
DeleteMy youngest is 3 months old and the hospital I gave birth to my baby at did this because they was also under staff. But the midwives was amazing! My father-in-law had to have surgery and they had to pull in doctors from other hospitals because staff issues. Crazy times we are living in now.
DeleteCPM's (Jill's level) are not allowed to practice in hospitals, only birthing centers or home births. You need to be a CM or CNM level to work in a hospital.
Delete12:56, untrue because I know my local hospital had to pull them in when they got short staff during between 2020-2021. Maybe it's certain states but you can call your local maternity wards about it.
DeleteThe CPM course is very involved. It is also an excellent choice for women who want to enter into the midwifery profession without having to help perform an abortion.
DeleteSo happy for them! Praise the Lord!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteWhy does her video title say Baby #3? This is #4. She wears the name of #3 on a necklace all the time. ??????
ReplyDeleteAnnabelle is not here to be included in the living family of 5 they will soon be.
DeleteYes!! I was thinking the same thing. It is baby # 4.
DeleteBaby #2 was Annabelle they lost and her name is on the necklace. Evelyn is baby #3
DeleteNeddy Constant
DeleteBecause they had baby before
That would had been their 3rd
Child but died as a stillborn
The stillborn baby girls name is
Annabell Elise.
Time 2:50AM Fri 10/7/22
Yes there are 2 living children but they named, buried, and will always remember Annabelle. So if all goes as planned, this will be their 4th carried and delivered child. They sure wouldn't want us to overlook Annabelle so I don't understand why anyone is talking as if she didn't happen when it comes to numbering their children.
DeleteShe still has 4 but 3 as in alive. I am sure they don't want to hear people bring that up as I am sure it's very painful.
DeleteI'm the mom of 4 living children. But I had a missed ab between my 3rd 5th pregnancy. I call myself a mom of 4 because I don't want to complicate things or explain this painful thing over and over again that I have a child whom I lost.
DeleteJoy refers to this new baby as baby 3, so why should we say it is baby 4?
DeleteI think it's more common to just say how many living children you have instead of having to explain to strangers about any lost babies you might have had.
Delete@3:32 If it's so painful then why is that necklace always visible?
DeleteHave you ever heard Michelle count Jubilee as the 20th child? No. She doesn't count Caleb for some reason, but only Jubilee.
DeleteMy parents lost a premie before I was born. For the sake of simplicity I’m an only child. It’s painful to repetitively have to explain that a baby passed. They will have three living kids. Her announcing baby three isn’t her forgetting what was probably the worst day of her life, it’s her acknowledging that they’ll have three living children.
DeleteExactly 7:49 PM, the same with my mother. She had 5 children but 4 living. It took her years before she could talk about it.
DeleteI thought Joy's baby was classified as a stillbirth not a miscarriage, since the baby had reached 20 weeks.
Delete9:29 AM - No, it's the same thing depending on your views of it.
DeleteA stillbirth and miscarriage are technically the same because the baby is a baby at conception.
Delete4:48 At conception it’s a zygote. Then two more stages, including embryo and fetus. Only when it emerges can we define it as a baby.
Delete4:22, it's life regardless and they detect the flickers which is the heartbeat they can't hear yet sooner and sooner. Life begins at conception. You can call it what you want. When a woman has a miscarriage in early weeks, you open the sack - the part they don't show you - there is a tiny little person with eyes. Social media has blinded you.
DeleteAnon 4:22. Exactly. I'm old enough to remember the 70's when churches taught and we all believed that fertilized eggs, embryos and fetuses where potential people and that no one was a person until they were born. Guess I'm too old to buy into these new teachings from the church leaders.
Deletecongratulations Joy and Austin
ReplyDeleteSo excited for them!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Joy-Anna and Austin!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGOD Bless
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your next baby.
ReplyDeleteWhy announce so early, anything can happen
ReplyDeleteIt’s their business and they can announce when they want.
DeleteSomething can also happen in week 13, week 20 or even in week 40.
DeleteShe miscarried at week 20 with her 2nd pregnancy. So it really doesn’t matter either way.they can do what they want.
DeleteThere are no guarantees in life. But why would they hide their happiness for the pregnancy? They are happy and trust in God.
DeleteAfter what happed in 2019 why announce so early.
ReplyDeleteI agree 8:53. Seems you'd keep it more to yourselves right now, given her recent history.
DeleteProbably because they lost the other baby pretty far into the pregnancy so she's aware that waiting to announce does not prevent a loss
DeleteWhy did you comment this twice?
DeleteWell that's them. You do you. Remember anything can happen at any week during pregnancy. Not just between 6-11 weeks.
Delete??? It doesn't matter when you announce a pregnancy, it doesn't affect what happens with the pregnancy.
DeleteI was hoping they would stop at 2
ReplyDeleteGood thing they get to make their own choices.
DeleteThat was never on the table. Joy has made it clear she wants many children.
DeleteI'm happy that lots of my ancestors didn't stop at 2 and therefore I can live!
DeleteNo, she lives in the United States of America where women have the freedom to choose how many children they have. Single women who want to be mothers tend to choose 1-2. Married women it varies. I always feel sorry for women who live in a country where they are expected to have 0-2 children, as well as those children's birth carefully calculated to have gaps in between. That's definitely not freedom of choice.
Delete@Alberta Rose, I have 2 children and won't have more by choice. This is what makes us all the happiest. We waited for a year before getting pregnant after baby 1 to get some hap between them, and there's nothing worng with that either. You do you, and let others choose their on path.
DeleteAlberta Rose, what countries are you referring to? I know of no country that imposes certain gaps in child birth. The only country I know that had limits on family size was China but that is not the case now.
Delete
DeleteTo AnonymousOctober 21, 2022 at 2:39 PM: I think you're missing my point. My point is that if women in the United States of America truly had Freedom of Choice, no one would question a couple's decision to conceive a baby on their honeymoon, have more than 2 children, question a couple's decision to have the children close together in age and pressure the woman to birth in a hospital with an OB.
Congratulations Joy and Austin on Baby Forsyth #3!🥳👶🏼 Can't wait to find out what it will be to break the tie of one boy and one girl. Glad Joy is one of the few Duggar girls that actually gives her body a break and has a baby every 2-3 years than every year like some of her sister's/sister-in laws.
ReplyDeleteI don't think she "gives her body a break" on purpose.
DeleteThat's their choice what they do with their bodies. The best timing is 1 year after pregnancy. But each their own.
DeleteThat's real crass and insensitive. Some women don't choose to give their body a break, it's how it happens. That's like telling people in an infertility clinic one of them must be using birth control because everyone who doesn't use birth control has a child every year.
DeleteEveryone is different and it's their body. It's good to give your body a break, however, I can also see the benefits of having babies close together because your body knows what to do and breastfeeding is not as sore.
DeleteCongratulations to them!!! And Happy Birthday to all the October birthdays!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the happy family.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS! SO MISS ALL OF YOUR WONDERFUL FAMILY! LOVED WATCHING YOU ALL! GOD BLESS YOU!
ReplyDeleteThat's nice. Joy wants lots of kids.
ReplyDeleteBe sure to take a couple of pregnancy tests while on vacation. lol
ReplyDeleteThey were trying.
DeletePregnancy tests are also sold in Alaska.
DeleteSomething about Joy just gets me heart. What a special moment. You deserve every happiness honey.
ReplyDeleteJoy gets my heart also. I hope she skips over the negative comments and continues to love her life
DeleteSo sweet! Congrats Joy & Austin!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Joy-Anna,Austin,Gideon and Evelyn. Prayers for a healthy baby and pregnancy.God Bless.
ReplyDeleteJoan,Marion and Marilyn
JOOOOYYYY I AM SOOOO HAPPY, FOR U 4!!!!!!!!! PLEASE TAKE GREAT CARE OF U, BUT YOUR FEET UP, AND I LOVE U WAS 4 NOW I LOVE U 5, A WHOLE HAND, LOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteAwww, congrats Joy and Austin! I love that you announce early so that others can pray for you throughout the whole journey. It’s wonderful to have the prayers in good times and, God forbid, in bad. Praying for a healthy pregnancy! (I’m also due in May with baby #5!)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Joy and Austin on baby #3💕 I pray everything goes well with your pregnancy and the delivery of a healthy baby 💗 For a boys name I like Austin Jo and for a girl's name I like Nevaeh Hope ❣️ I really miss everyone and pray all is doing well. l still wish there was a spinoff on Cable TV with long seasons 🙏 Natasha b
ReplyDeleteNatasha, do you still seriously think that after all that's happened, any TV network would want to make a deal with the Duggars? Same with the Bates. Too much truth came to light to make a TV show pretending that all is picture perfect. This has happened with so many reality shows and stars!
Delete9:32 AM - To many people said they pretended to be something they are not and that was the parents doings. However, most reality stars act like the perfect couple/family. Why call out only them? Plus the Duggar children are innocent (but one) and some of them are victims. Let's stop pretending there sis/sir. They will get it back one day, best better believe that.
DeleteDear Mackynzie: I hope that you are having a fantastic 13th Birthday!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so. happy for them! Joy is such a blessing. She just seems so authentic and truly Christian in everything that she says and does. She and Jessa are my favorite Duggars. I think that they are both great role-models for young women.
ReplyDeleteAs a note, I also miss hearing about Kendra and Joe, and Lauren and Josiah; but I respect their wishes for privacy. Ellie and Lily, could you let them know that people are praying for them.
I don't understand it. Joy-Anna got two kids and lost one at 20 weeks. Why would she do this to herself again? I have questioned many other mothers as well on this. I could care less if I lose friends. It's like they are trying to replace the one they lost. You can't do that.
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't lost a baby, you don't understand. Having more children after never replaces. But it sure fills you heart with joy as any child does. I had a stillborn at 30 weeks and there will always be a hole in our hearts, but our two children we had after her have been wonderful!
DeleteYou question many other mothers who have lost children? I hope that's not what you do. Highly insensitive! Wanting another child doesn't mean you think you are replacing the child who passed away.
DeleteWhat??
DeleteThat's extremely crass and insensitive to ask someone why they are having a child or two after a miscarriage. They live in the United States, where couples have the freedom to choose whether or not they will have more children after a miscarriage. That choice gets treated with respect. I feel sorry for people who live in a country where people do not have the freedom to choose family size and are expected to stop conceiving a child if they had a miscarriage.
DeleteOP, you lose friends because you're incredibly lacking empathy, sensitivity and tact. Grieving a child is the worst thing in the world, including during pregnancy or delivery. They will never ever forget. But they are allowed to still want a family !!! Please leave these poor mothers alone !
Delete8:35 I hope you are exaggerating when you say you've questioned many mothers about this. A mother's love isn't disposable. I assure you, nobody who has lost a child is trying to "replace" the one they lost with another. It isn't possible. As far as why Joy would "do this", perhaps she wants more children. There is nothing wrong with being a mother and wife, it isn't a badge of same. In fact, you are here on this Earth because someone wanted to be your mother.
DeleteCongrats to the Forsyths! I know I might get hate for this but just hear me out. No future daughter of mine, especially if she's still living at home at 18+, would quickly marry and have children. She will get an education rather she likes it or not. Now, if she doesn't want that, than she'll have to move out. Period. But long as she's living under my roof she is going to do as I say and go to college. And yes, it will be my choice on what she does. If she has no plans for her life, I'll pick the career. It's not to be mean, I am only helping her. Same goes if I have sons.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that. You can only help your children after 18 if they let you! :)
DeleteO@8:42 Oh I get it now. I thought you were being serious! You really had me going there for awhile 😂😆
DeleteGlad I'm not your kid.
DeleteI had to read this multiple times and I can't get through it without laughing. I know you have to be joking xD
DeleteGive your "future kids" some credit. They'll probably have good incentive to leave on their own. And they'll have some stories to tell their friends and possibly their therapists.
DeleteYou sound like my parents which is why I left to live with a family member and I haven't had any contact with them for over 10 years.
Delete😂 As spoken by a non-parent. You children are not your things or your muppets to move around. They are fully formed human beings with likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses, ambitions, dreams and fears. Let them choose their on life or risk losing them forever.
Delete8:42 The family picks the careers for the girls. What could be a better career than wife and mother.
DeleteI don't know why people want to camp and vacation in Alaska. The same as Hawaii. It's native land that's suppose to be protected and preserved but of course our leaders say anything for votes.
ReplyDeleteIdk about Alaska but well said about Hawaii. Residentials cannot stand people from the outside coming in and buying up ancestry property. The Islands should be marked as a reservation.
DeleteA lot of these states depend on tourist money for the local economy. They want visitors. It's been that way no matter who was governor. The only thing you can hope for is that the people overseeing the state lands are being good stewards and keeping the parts natural that need to stay natural and untouched. They will argue that letting tourists in gives people more of an appreciation for the land, and hopefully more incentive to keep it pristine. Just like zoos are supposed to teach people to take care of wildlife......
Delete12:50, I don't see how with how high the grocery prices was in Hawaii and Alaska pre-2020. I can only imagine what it is now.
DeleteDear Johannah: I hope that you are having a fantastic 17th Birthday!!!!!

DeleteJohanna turned 17 in October. She was born in 2005. She's not 18.
DeleteNice to see huge family while I only have very very tiny family. Wish have big family.
ReplyDeleteIt is NOBODIES business to comment on how these young woman conceive, give birth, and raise their children! Let them live their own life!
