Seewald Moving Day Coming Soon

Have you been following along with Jessa and Ben's fixer upper progress? They started posting about their home renovations on their YouTube account back in January and have been working hard to complete the project. The house is finally move-in ready (video below).

  2. The home is beautiful! Go with the deeper refrigerator -- it's horrible not to have enough room.

  3. I have. It has been very enjoyable to see the progress and changes that have been made over about a yr. The house looks quite beautiful now. Jessa put a lot of thought into all her choices. I wish her and her family all kinds of positive times and memories in their new home. Eileen

  5. Doesn't Jessa see that the black horizontal pulls she chose for all her lower cabinets are at toddler height and have sharp edges? Someone is going to hurt a forehead or worse, an eye, on them. I saw them on her earlier video and can't believe she ended up installing those. They are a hazard!

    1. I don't think they're a "hazard". Please stop nit-picking.

    2. I'm sure Jessa will deal with everything appropriately for her kiddos.

    3. Actually it doesn't from my point of view. I worked on houses for years BUT then again it's hard to judge just from video and pictures. Since they started this project people keep trying to find things that are wrong or question if they have permits lol. They wouldn't be posting it knowing how Karens like to call if they was doing anything wrong. Plus the house has to pass inspection before they move inside of it.

    4. Those pulls do look like they could be a problem. I'd have trouble standing or working at the counter near them. I have knobs that are just the right height to snag my pants and shorts pockets all the time. So annoying. I can't imagine having something with sharp looking square edges like that. I'd constantly be poking or scraping myself, or maybe ripping clothes (I did that on the overhead garage door lock that stuck out). And if I had little kids near those pulls, wow.

    5. Go with the small pulls! The horizontal pulls are too big. Everything is lovely though.

    6. I looked up those pulls. They do have edges and are big enough for kids to bonk themselves on. Plus the pulls got terrible reviews for durability. Most people said don't put them in a high-use area like a kitchen, that they'll strip out their screws when tugged on and the finish wears off quickly.

    7. You know what else are hazards? Corners, floors, tubs--with and without water--stairs, poisonous plants, tools, electricity, fire, chemicals and pointy things. Let it go. Children have survived since the dawn of time with hazards. If Jessa somehow can't stop her child from being attacked by a rogue door pull, the child will probably learn from the experience and do better next time.

    8. I don't think the handles are very practical in a kitchen and have poor reviews by users. However, I don't think they are "hazardous" to small children.

    9. I don’t think it’s nit picking if someone has a true concern about safety. That’s thoughtful to give advice

      Delete
    10. Gee 9:50 you really don't care about hazardous things and kids? You think all kids survive them?

      Delete
    11. True 7:43. Every childproofing kit for the home includes soft covers for edges at child height (tables, hearths, etc.). Edges are definitely a safety problem.

    12. I can tell you guys are not parents. There is nothing wrong with the cabinets. Do you think she plans on her child climbing? Who doesn't watch them kids anymore?

      Delete
    13. @9:17 Disagree. It's the people without kids who look at a room and see nothing wrong. It's the parents who can spot and hopefully stop trouble before it happens.

    14. 9:17, by your comment I question if you have kids. Anyone who has more than 1 small child in the house knows how those little guys can climb on top of the cabinets while mom or dad is helping another one in the bathroom, changing a diaper or bandaging a skinned knee. I found my 3 year old son on top of the fridge one time. As parents it’s our job to make the house as safe as possible for our kids.

  7. Is this house next to the church where Ben is a pastor? That would be convenient if it is.

  12. They have done such a great job on this house. It’s unrecognizable from how it was when they first started! It’s lovely!

  13. Very glad the house is done now,so they can move out of their first (and hand me-down because it was Josh and Anna's first home before they moved to Washington D.C. for their little stint prior the the events that led to them moving back to AK) home. I haven't watched the video yet,but I hope now the two oldest boys can share a room and the two younger girls another room and not have the oldest 3 in one room and Fern sleeping in Jessa and Ben's room. At least it's a good sized house so as they grow and have more kids, they will have enough space. Is it still close to Jessa and Ben's parents' homes?

    1. Can you just say first home? Wow! That's a new one. A hand-me-down house. I bet you was one of those privy people that was to good to take hand-me-downs from your siblings or cousins or even go to yard sales, huh?

    2. I think 10:04 was one of those "privy" people who learned proper verb usage in school.

  14. Congratulations Jessa and Ben and children on the new house. I'm glad you're enjoying it. I'm still wandering which kid gets which room and who shares. I tried watching you on YouTube and other TV shows on other channels but I believe the Duggar's and the extended family members get another chance and more with another show and more seasons back on Cable TV with New episodes. Hopefully sometime soon. Natasha b

    1. They are NOT coming back on a TV show. Most of them don't seem to WANT to be in the public eye.

    2. With everything that has happened, do you really honestly believe any corporation would sponsor a new Duggar show? The Duggars have lots of fans and just as many that dislike them and would boycott products that would sponsor the show. Give it a rest. We all know you love them and want them back.

    3. 3:18 PM - The siblings should not be punished. They are the ones in fact that sat in the court room to see the truth themselves and walked out because they been lied to so many times.

      Delete
    4. Punished? Since when is it punishment not to have your personal life all over TV and the tabloids? The siblings are smart to stay out of the public eye. But I think they already share too much online. Jinger and Jeremy for instance. They don't want their kids seen but they sure want themselves seen!

    5. Yes, I look forward to more Duggar tv shows. A joint interview with Anna and Michelle would be highest rating$ ever for TLC!

    6. 8:48, having a t.v. show is a privilege not a right. They benefited from that privilege for many years but it’s now over. No one is being punished. As 3:18 said, advertisers won’t spend money on this show unless it’s beneficial to them. It’s time to retire that thought of the rest of the family being punished.

  15. Maybe John and Abbie can move into the house Jessa and Ben are moving out of as the trailer is a bit small for them.

    1. Jessa said the land the old house sits on has been sold....new owners don't want the house. They are hoping to sell it and move ir.

      Delete
    2. She says in the video that they are selling to a property developer, but didn't want the house only the land. One of her brothers might be moving the house to some vacant land that is owned by them. She didn't really say which one

    3. I don't really think it's our business to say where and how they should live. We are lucky they even give us updates on their house projects. If they want to live in a trailer, let them. I hope someone does the same to you.
