    5. Every time I see or hear about a full-term or near full-term pregnant woman attending a wedding, I just cringe ever since my cousin went into labor at my uncle's wedding. It's like I know you can't control but a pregnant woman should stay home starting around the 30 week mark. It's to bad law makers can't make it where soon as a woman starts showing she needs to just stay home and don't go out in public until the baby is born. That's how we did it back in my day. It's not proper. I know some people will get mad at me for that but that's the generation I came from. A pregnant woman should be resting and be waited on hand and foot. She also shouldn't be around a bunch of people as that can be stressful.

    6. 8:44 What generation did you come from that allowed this? Or maybe you are a member of the royal family? Lol! Plus the women in the Duggar family have one baby after another-- how do you lay around being waited on with multiple children to care for?

    7. To Anonymous March 31, 2022 at 8:44 AM Far better that the United State be like Canada and have a longer maternity leave to give the new parents time to spend with their baby. Also, the expectation that pregnant women were to isolate started to disappear during the 1930s. During the 1940s pregnant women who were part of the WWII Home Front would work at a desk job or light work. Definitely during the 1950s a woman wasn't expected to "confine" herself just because she had a baby bump. By the 1980s not only were pregnant women "allowed" to be out and about, feminists started claiming that pregnant women should be "encouraged" to work until they were 36 weeks pregnant. These days you're regarded as a Victorian wimp if you attempt to start your maternity leave before 36 weeks.

    8. @8:44 many pregnant women today need to work...not a choice. Life is expensive and many families have two working parents. It seems like you think pregnancy is shameful, something to be hidden. Yes, babies don't always come on time or when it's convenient and for safeties sake travel should be limited in last month. I can't believe you said stay at home out of sight 🙄

    10. March 31 @ 8:44 has got to be fake and someone who just wants to rile people up for responses.

    11. 8:44 You have to be joking. Don't go out in public if pregnant? Rest and be waited on? Not be around people? Thanks for the good laugh!

    12. 8:44 LOL! Perhaps some resorts could be built, where pregnant women could go and lounge during their pregnancies.

    13. @3:03 There actually were places where pregnant girls and women were sent to be out of sight. They were often run by churches. I remember when girls in high school would "move away" for a year.

    14. 9:32 I think you are referring to "unwed" mothers, which is different than any woman who is pregnant having to hide from the public like the OP said. And what a shame that unwed mothers were treated that way.

    15. Times have changed @8:44. You know, that's what my grandma believed however she thought it wasn't right that a pregnant woman went out in public at all and had baby showers. She made it sound like a shameful thing because people know you did the deed regardless of martial status lol.

  8. Congratulations Jeremiah and Hannah! Hope you two will have a long and happy marriage. Can't wait to see pictures of the big day. Did all the Duggar family (minus Josh who is sadly sitting in jail until his sentencing) attend,Anna and her 7 kids included and Jill and Derick and their 2 boys? Did any Bates family members attend as well?

    1. Couldn't you just wish them well without bringing up the situation with Josh? Seems rather unkind IMO

  12. Congratulations Jeremiah & Hannah Duggar on your wedding day. Wishing you a happy honeymoon and future together. On a side note I heard there is going to be a Duggar/Bates courtship coming soon? I am also hoping and praying really hard that the Duggars Family members and also The Bates Family come back on cable TV with new shows and long seasons. There is always hope and prayers. I wonder when the time will come hopefully soon. Best wishes. Natasha b

  13. She's wearing pants. Good for her.

    1. I’m glad I live in a place where women can where what they want, instead of having to wear pants to be regarded as a “good” woman. I don’t care whether a woman is wearing a skirt, pants, a burka, a sari or hide skirt/hide leggings, it’s how they have chosen to dress based on their beliefs.

    2. Then you have the women who go on TV, go on speaking tours about modesty, and write books about wearing nothing but skirts, then years later, after all the checks have cleared, wear pants and shorts.

    3. @4:59 The Duggar daughters were not adults when they went on tour and preached the importance of modest dress and old fashioned prairie dresses. Today they are women raising families, they are active and probably realize pants verses dresses has nothing to do with your relationship with Jesus.

    4. @3:15 Is that another way of saying they were wrong about pants?

    5. The wearing of pants by women was never really an issue until the Duggars created it in their effort to be special. Now they're walking it back big time. lol

    1. I've thought about this too-- I think they meet other families at religious gatherings, like the annual one in Texas the Duggars always attend. Of course, three of the daughters did marry someone the family didn't know previously.
