Jed and Katey Duggar have been newlyweds for 10 days. We thought it would be fun to share this photo from their beach trip honeymoon. Don't they make an adorable couple?
It's been over two years since a Duggar married that is before Justin, a lot of the courtships have happened with two siblings courting at the same time, Justin and Jed courted at the same time, also John David and Josiah,Joseph and Joy Anna the previous year,Jill and Jessa in 2015,just Josh and Jinger had a wedding in a single year, maybe next year two more courtships and weddings, lol!
@2:10: Jill and Jessa married in 2014. In 2015 they both had first kids. Interestingly, they second kids both were born in 2017. But anyway, it was 2014 - Jill, Jessa 2016 - Jinger 2017 - Joy, Joe 2018 - Josiah, John-David no weddings in 2019 and 2020 2021 - Justin, Jed so far. Maybe they will try to catch up for 2019 and 2020 and will have more weddings in 2021 :).
Ahem, Jessa clearly explained in a primetime TV interview special years ago that her family is not “a TV family; we’re just a family that happens to be on TV.” She went on to explain that the show isn’t their lives and they will be perfectly fine and content when it comes time for it to end one day. This was mere weeks before the big scandal with her brother and parents came out. And just weeks before the whole family rallied behind a massive PR effort to Save The Show! Jessa was positioned at the helm with her defiant and tear-filled interview with Megyn Kelly and her prepared notes set across her lap. Not a TV family, indeed.
@12:43 I think that ship has sailed and it was quite some time ago. If they're not a TV family, I don't know what is. Keeping your family on a show this long is a good sign that the media exposure is a very profitable meal-ticket.
If they are such a TV oriented group, then why have so many of the “Counting On” age young adults opted to cut back being on the show - some not at all; some only present for group family events; some keeping their marriages and engagements out of the public eye. Even Jeremy and Jinger have not even been featured much lately.
I think some of that has been because of Pandemic regulations and TLC's unwillingness to put their production and filming crews at risk, given the Duggars large and frequent gatherings. Some may be due in part to the large amount of negative publicity following the Fall Harvest Party, the Christmas gathering, the New Years Eve crowd, and all the traveling to weddings and visiting friends and family in other states, when a number of states are in lockdowns or otherwise restricted travel mandates.
Car rentals usually require you to be 25. Most hotels require you to be 21. I had a 2 day drive back & forth to college and often I had to check 3-4 hotels before I could find one that'd rent to a 19/20 year old. Maybe Justin & Claire had the same issue LOL.
They probably did not go to Europe or Australia, like some other Duggars did, but Mexico and Carribean resorts are open, so they could just fly out there.
He probably couldn't have taken a honeymoon like that if he had won the election last year. He would be busy representing his district and being present for hearings and voting on bills.
MO- Very cute couple- Best wishes to both. I'm so happy they kept the everything under the radar, very smart IMO. What does Jed do for a living? Not being nasty, I just haven't heard much about him until now. :o)
He did or does own a used carlot. This was shown on the show (remember the episode they bought the limousines?). Tabloids also say he recently started a real estate business but I don't know if this is accurate.
They did better than that they showed their wedding footage online,if they wanted privacy they wouldn't have showed the footage, so I reckon they will be sho more on Counting on.
They are a sweet couple. Was shocked at first when I heard the day after Easter that Jed married after a secret courtship with Katey. Thought it was tabloid fake news at first then I saw the post later on here on the blog confirming the news as true. Congratulations to the happy couple. I respect your privacy for keeping your courtship a secret from the media. Not every Duggar needs to have their courtship displayed on camera for the world to see on Counting On. And to answer your question Gabrielle,I'm guessing either Jana (who is rumored to have a "special" boy-friend in Texas),Jeremiah, Jason,or James, since those are the only 4 who are still single. Haley P. from Colorado
I am glad to see Jedidiah & Katey on their honeymoon at the beach. I ♥️ love the picture of them. I am glad that were having a wonderful time. I can't wait to see there courtship, engagement, wedding, honeymoon & beyond on the show. I also can't wait to see what's going in their future ♥️. I really can't wait for season 12 of counting on & I would ♥️ love to see reruns aired. Natasha b
Most countries have closed their borders to non-essential travel. Being Americans does not change that. Our border is closed and will stay closed for at least till 2022. I am sure other countries will be the same.
Many countries do not welcome American visitors at this time. Unfortunately Americans are seen as "disease spreaders" due to the country's poor response to the Covid.
It’s a selfie. He took it himself. You can see his arm outstretched. It was probably an iPhone. Nothing about this photo looks remotely like “a photographer” took it. Seriously, who can’t identify a selfie?
Ellie: Can you do a post on the Bates & Duggar families getting their Covid vaccinations, as an encouragement to Republicans to #GetTheirShot. I got my Pfizer shot today, sooooo happy😁
I hope EVERYONE gets vaccinated including the Duggars. It's NOT a political thing you know. It's a public health issue and the more of us that are vaccinated the sooner the epidemic will be under control. I'm getting my 2nd shot next Friday. So glad that is happening and I'll be fully vaccinated.
I agree that this is a celebratory blog for Jed and Katey. But Jed chose to be a public figure by running for office, so maybe he could have some influence over all voters of either parties. And I have to wonder here, will the Duggar’s get shots since there is some controversy with some folks over stem-cell use?
@1:34 I'm happy for you too, seriously. I got my first dose, within 5 minutes had an allergic reaction (nothing new for me), and cannot get the second dose. So I'm counting on the rest of you to get vaccinated for me. If you want to be pro-life, start with pro-ing my life please. This virus could end it.
3:30/3:38/11:08 Anon (all the same person) The ill or "dying" from the shot are such a small percentage - 6 in 7 million for the clots. Who's to say they didn't have some underlying condition that added to that? And what would have happened to them if they had gotten Covid, not the shot? The breakthrough cases after the shot are in much better shape than they would have been without it.
1:21, the 6 from the J&J shot are not the only deaths. They're just the only deaths that we've been told about on national news. Local news and other outlets have covered other ones.
I don't need to see pictures of anyone getting a shot of anything. I don't even like to look when my own shots or blood drawn.Needles give me the creeps.😮 I would have to pass on seeing a post on them getting the Covid shot.
@Anon April 16 1:34..I'm glad you're happy about your Pfizer vaccine as it looks like you will now be getting a 2nd and 3rd one as well as an annual booster too. Why would you think that people would go and get the vaccine because the Bates and the Duggars did? Also, not sure why you think it is the Republicans who need encouragement. Everyone I know who has received the vaccine is a Republican. So tired of all the division in this country. Not everything is political. I can promise you when you get your vaccine, if you choose to do so, they do NOT ask you who you voted for!
2:49, I also know many Republicans who have gotten the vaccine, however it seems the people most vocal against it are Republicans or anti-vaxers. Approximately 60% of Republican men say they won’t get it. Have you read the comments to Ivanka’s tweet about getting vaccinated? You are correct when you say this isn’t a political issue. It’s a health issue but many people believe otherwise.
@1:34 what does political parties have to do with it? I'm a Republican and I received my shots. I know people of both parties who got theirs. I also know some Democrats that have not. Like @2:49 said I was not asked who I voted for. Not everything is political.
It amazes me when the very people who keep saying that they want America to be great again won't participate in the vaccinations. Here is something GREAT we all can do for each other. Look at the volunteers and employees working the vaccination events. How selfless they are. But how selfish are those who say I'm not getting the vaccine and you can't make me. The numbers of hospitalized medical workers and elderly are proving that the vaccines work. Who wouldn't take the opportunity to be part of that success? What is the definition of greatness if not saving lives?
12:53, there have been a number of hospitalizations, miscarriages, and deaths already from the shots. There are NO long-term studies on the safety yet. It is selfish to insist other people jump to get something of unproven safety and possibly risk their health so that you can feel "safe." Vaccinated people can still spread it and get it, so there is no logical reason for you to push this on other peoples' bodies and make them feel bad because they want the right to choose.
anon@3:33 It's estimated that as many as 26% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage, with nearly 80% of early miscarriages occurring in the first 12 weeks, or first trimester, according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Given this, the MHRA acknowledged that some miscarriages would be expected to occur following vaccination purely by chance. There have been wild claims on some alternative news sites of an explosion in miscarriages due to the vaccine. There is no evidence to suggest that this is the case. Taken in context, the incidence of pregnancy related problems are no greater among vaccinated women than the general population. Also, the purpose of the vaccine is to prevent serious illness and subsequent surges in hospitalizations. I'm not sure how you can find fault with that. We know how devastating COVID can be.
@6:32. Actually, in support of your post, the medical authorities of my country have reported that they are seeing a disturbing increase in the number of pregnant women in our ICUs with Covid. Being pregnant puts a load on a woman's body, including her respiratory system and her ability to fight infections. Our Covid Medical authorities are considering including pregnant women in list of those with high risk health conditions. Those people "jump" the queue.
2:49PM: The Bates and the Duggars are influencers and certainly people would consider the vaccine if it were given the thumbs up on these blogs. These two families encouraged voting in November and posted pictures of themselves with their "I Voted" buttons on, and I am sure it sparked other people to go out and vote. You are correct that not everything is political, but it has been widely reported that Republican men are the most hesitant about the Covid vaccine. I'm suggesting a little positive reinforcement here wouldn't hurt.
Properly tested? How many million more people do you need to see get the vaccine with no problem before you're convinced that the vaccines have been tested enough? The percentages of problems there have been, while given time in the news, are minuscule compared to the problems from actually contracting the virus.
5:16, properly tested means you are going through all the steps a vaccine is supposed to go through before approval. We are not there yet. I don't understand why wanting a safe, effective vaccine is a bad thing. Seems selfish to be so impatient to "feel safe" that you don't care about those who might have adverse effects. I continue to hear about people having strokes, Bell's palsy, hospitalized for breathing problems, miscarriage, etc., after getting the vaccine. That is hardly reassuring.
5:16, the news is NOT covering the thousands of deaths that have occurred already from the shots. The miscarriages. All the hospitalizations and allergic reactions and strokes. They say 6 people have died from the J and J shot. You are NOT hearing the whole story. Have you seen the compilation of cases of people who have died from the shot, including medical personnel? I have. Have you heard about all the medical personnel who are refusing the shot because of bad science and censorship of any medical professional who disagrees with Fauci (who has both shady personal financial ties and shady personal back history with this whole thing)? Don't be naive to the lack of logic to pushing a shot that neither keeps a person from getting covid nor spreading it to others. The point of the shot is to lessen the severity of symptoms. Does that mean we will have more asymptomatic carriers or carriers walking around, spreading covid, because they think they have the vaccine so they're fine? If the vaccine is so effective, they wouldn't be saying you should still wear a mask and socially distance and only hang around others who are vaccinated. The whole thing is ludicrous, compounded by people parroting that they are "following the science" instead of thinking logically.
Anon 2:48. Where on Earth did you get this information? If "thousands" of people had died from being vaccinated our health departments would be reporting it. Hasn't happened. Nor have there been the number of severe side effects you claim. I prefer to trust the public health officials in MY state rather than the sorts of rumors you're repeating.
anon@12:48 You are missing the point of the vaccine. It prevents serious illness from COVID and the long-term problems associated with it. This will keep people out of the hospitals and relieve the strain on our medical professsionals. I'm not sure how you can find that ludicrous. My brother-in-law spent two weeks in the hospital at death's door from COVID. Two months later, he's still fighting symptoms. If he'd been vaccinated, this would not have happened. Apparently, the story you've heard fits the narrative you are looking for, but comes up very short on facts.
No one should ever vote or get vaccinated because someone who works on a television show did. Not an anti-vaxxer or conspiracy theorist by any stretch here, but also have 45 years of medical experience. There simply hasn't been enough time to fully test these vaccines for long-term side effects (or even potentially fatal short term, it seems). There clearly hasn't been enough time to accurately assess efficacy either (initial findings indicated one dose, then two; now we're up to a six month booster shot). It could potentially be that more than one 6-month booster will be necessary to maintain any benefit. Even after the vaccines have been administered (any of the "big Three"), vaccinated people are instructed to follow the exact same protocols as non-vaccinated people. Therefore, medically speaking, the vaccine manufacturers and the medical community know the vaccines aren't the magical silver bullet (mass medical safeguard) that they're being promoted as.
Anon 2:05 So "how long" should we wait until the vaccine has been tested before getting it? The vaccine may not have been tested long term, but when over 560,000 people in this country alone have died of a disease, IMO it's time to do anything we can to lessen our odds of getting the disease. It's pretty obvious that is DOES help as the groups who have been vaccinated are not getting the disease and dying at the rates unvaccinated people are. Those who say they won't get vaccinated tend to be the more conservative and those in minority groups. I'm not saying it's "political" but it's a worrisome trend.
2:05 I've known too many people for my liking who have been seriously ill and/or suffered long term problems due to COVID. I have been fully vaccinated and am glad I did. If it helps prevent serious illness from the virus, I'm all for it.
Anon 2:05. If you choose not to be vaccinated that's your choice. Many of us after watching our relatives, friends and neighbors suffer and some die of this virus choose to take our chances with the vaccine even though it's relatively new. Life is full of choices. This one is a risk benefit choice.
"If you choose not to be vaccinated, that's your choice." Yes, some people are claiming it's "their body, their choice" not to get a vaccination. See how that idea works for them this time, but they won't let others have that same idea when it comes to anything else?
@11:26 P.M. Who is widely reporting that Republican men are the most hesitant to receive the vaccine? CNN, 60 minutes, or the "reliable" polls that we have all seen in the last few years? Think about it. Why would a vaccine that was pushed to be developed by Trump and even received by Trump be shunned by Republicans? It wouldn't be. This has nothing to do with political parties and maybe if the media would stop all their "reports" to try to keep it political and keep us divided, the country could start to heal and I don't mean from Covid!!!!
Trump kept his vaccination under wraps for quite a while. He finally made a brief statement about it months later. Not exactly an ethusiastic endorsement.
Ellie is more than patient. LOL If it were me, I would scrapped this blog a long time ago as impatient and demanding as some fans/viewers seem to be. Ellie has a real life and it's not writing or updating this blog. This is something she chooses to do in her spare time. Her family comes first, as it should. Can we try to remember that, please?
Thanks for leaving your comments! We answer as many of your questions as we can, but due to the number of comments we receive daily, we are unable to answer every one. Our aim is to post all points of view, but we do not post anything that is profane, insulting, derogatory, or in poor taste.
I was so happy to see this pic, what a cute couple they make 😘 Wonder who the next Duggar to marry will be?
ReplyDeleteJana, Jer, James
DeleteProbably Jana if she isn't already.
DeleteI'm thinking Jer. But guess we'll find out one of these days.

no weddings in 2019 and 2020
2021 - Justin, Jed so far. Maybe they will try to catch up for 2019 and 2020 and will have more weddings in 2021 :).
This post is about Jed and Katey. Not everyone in the Duggar family whi is married. Let them have a moment to shine!
DeleteDo many people keep track of t.v. families' dates?
DeleteAhem, Jessa clearly explained in a primetime TV interview special years ago that her family is not “a TV family; we’re just a family that happens to be on TV.” She went on to explain that the show isn’t their lives and they will be perfectly fine and content when it comes time for it to end one day.
DeleteAnon 12:43. Yes. And then "Counting On" was born. It was supposed to be about the younger generation but soon JB and Michelle were front and center.
Delete@12:43 I think that ship has sailed and it was quite some time ago. If they're not a TV family, I don't know what is. Keeping your family on a show this long is a good sign that the media exposure is a very profitable meal-ticket.
DeleteIf they are such a TV oriented group, then why have so many of the “Counting On” age young adults opted to cut back being on the show - some not at all; some only present for group family events; some keeping their marriages and engagements out of the public eye. DeleteNice photo. I wonder where the beach is located. Also, any news if Justin and claire took a honeymoon, and to where?
ReplyDeleteSome of us wonder if Justin and Claire's honeymoon was to Legoland in CA?
DeleteWherever they went, they would have been barely old enough to get a hotel room, and do places rent cars to people that young?
DeleteUhhhh, why would you think that??????
Deleteyou have to be 21 to rent a car in many states...
Delete@1:43 that's what Uber is for 🙂

DeleteIs it that important to anyone where they went for the honeymoon? Let them enjoy the private moment.
DeleteThey're not all that private if you're making sure to send pictures from your honeymoon to share with viewers and fans on a blog. LOL
DeleteTexas has many fine beaches. This picture could be from Galveston or South Padre Island, for example.
DeleteThey are precious. I wish them well.

DeleteNot another Jana rumor....the last one was she was dating a pilot based in Arkansas.
DeleteThey are super cute! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThey look adorable and when are we going to see them on the banner

ReplyDeleteIDK. Considering that this couple wanted privacy, I don't see their courtship, wedding and honeymoon being shown on national TV.
DeleteAwwwww so nice!
ReplyDeleteA beach trip. Sounds like a normal honeymoon instead of the usual trip abroad with a film crew along. Good for them.
ReplyDeleteCovid was probably the reason why they didn’t take a huge trip.
DeleteMaybe they wanted that but tlc said no, there's a pandemic!
DeleteUh oh I hope they didn’t see any people in swimwear.

ReplyDeleteSo happy for this nice couple and what a gorgeous view of the ocean behind them!
ReplyDeleteIs she much older than he is? She looks about 30.
ReplyDeleteKatie and Jed are both 22.
DeleteShe’s 29, so that’s close to 30. She’s younger than him.
DeleteShe's reported to be age 22. About the same age as Jed.

Deleteanon@3:33 It's estimated that as many as 26% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage, with nearly 80% of early miscarriages occurring in the first 12 weeks, or first trimester, according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Delete@6:32.
DeleteAnd the vaccine will not stop them from getting covid.
DeleteThey look so happy!
ReplyDelete2:49PM: The Bates and the Duggars are influencers and certainly people would consider the vaccine if it were given the thumbs up on these blogs. These two families encouraged voting in November and posted pictures of themselves with their "I Voted" buttons on, and I am sure it sparked other people to go out and vote.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct that not everything is political, but it has been widely reported that Republican men are the most hesitant about the Covid vaccine. I'm suggesting a little positive reinforcement here wouldn't hurt.
Why the rush? Some people would like to wait until these have been properly tested and gone through the whole process.
DeleteProperly tested? How many million more people do you need to see get the vaccine with no problem before you're convinced that the vaccines have been tested enough? The percentages of problems there have been, while given time in the news, are minuscule compared to the problems from actually contracting the virus.
Delete5:16, properly tested means you are going through all the steps a vaccine is supposed to go through before approval.
Delete5:16, the news is NOT covering the thousands of deaths that have occurred already from the shots.
DeleteAnon 2:48. Where on Earth did you get this information? If "thousands" of people had died from being vaccinated our health departments would be reporting it. Hasn't happened. Nor have there been the number of severe side effects you claim. I prefer to trust the public health officials in MY state rather than the sorts of rumors you're repeating.
Deleteanon@12:48 You are missing the point of the vaccine.
DeleteMany Republicans who I work with and know where I live also have had their vaccines for the same reason.
ReplyDeleteNo one should ever vote or get vaccinated because someone who works on a television show did.
DeleteAnon 2:05 So "how long" should we wait until the vaccine has been tested before getting it? The vaccine may not have been tested long term, but when over 560,000 people in this country alone have died of a disease, IMO it's time to do anything we can to lessen our odds of getting the disease. It's pretty obvious that is DOES help as the groups who have been vaccinated are not getting the disease and dying at the rates unvaccinated people are. Those who say they won't get vaccinated tend to be the more conservative and those in minority groups. I'm not saying it's "political" but it's a worrisome trend.
Delete2:05 I've known too many people for my liking who have been seriously ill and/or suffered long term problems due to COVID. I have been fully vaccinated and am glad I did. If it helps prevent serious illness from the virus, I'm all for it.
DeleteAnon 2:05. If you choose not to be vaccinated that's your choice. Many of us after watching our relatives, friends and neighbors suffer and some die of this virus choose to take our chances with the vaccine even though it's relatively new. Life is full of choices. This one is a risk benefit choice.
Delete"If you choose not to be vaccinated, that's your choice." Yes, some people are claiming it's "their body, their choice" not to get a vaccination. See how that idea works for them this time, but they won't let others have that same idea when it comes to anything else?
Delete@11:26 P.M. Who is widely reporting that Republican men are the most hesitant to receive the vaccine? CNN, 60 minutes, or the "reliable" polls that we have all seen in the last few years?
ReplyDeleteThink about it. Why would a vaccine that was pushed to be developed by Trump and even received by Trump be shunned by Republicans? It wouldn't be. This has nothing to do with political parties and maybe if the media would stop all their "reports"
to try to keep it political and keep us divided, the country could start to heal and I don't mean from Covid!!!!
I agree!
DeleteVery well stated, 2:36pm.
DeleteI agree with you!
Trump kept his vaccination under wraps for quite a while. He finally made a brief statement about it months later. Not exactly an ethusiastic endorsement.
DeleteThis is the Duggars pages not the Bates blod. So would you guys quite people stuff about Bates on the Duggar's
ReplyDeleteI awhile back Ellie put a comment that told you people should put stuff abouts the Duggars on duggars blog, and stuff about Bates on the Bates blog
Thank you
What about all the times the Duggars have visited the Bates or attended and participated in each others' weddings? Which blog does that go on?
DeleteAt 5:18 Ellie did say that, so the poster is correct. I would assume it would go on which ever blog Ellie posted it on. Jill
DeleteWill there be an update to the banner with Katey and baby Brooklyn, or are you waiting on something first please?
ReplyDeleteEllie is a patient person with all the nagging about banner pictures over the years. If it were me, I probably would delete those comments.
DeletePatience, patience.
DeleteEllie is more than patient.
DeleteLol, no impatience here - just wondering if something else is coming up that they're waiting on!
DeleteCongratulations on your marriage Jed and Katey! Praying for God to bless and keep you and for your marriage to full of joy, faith, and fruitfulness!
ReplyDeleteNo they do not
ReplyDeleteNo, who does not????
