We all make mistakes unfortunately Josh's was all over the news. I like to see him it reminds me that if we don't forgive others how can we expect God's forgiveness.
That’s all you guy’s problem not his. He made a bad mistake, but has corrected his life and found forgiveness from his wife and God, so everyone needs to forgive and move on. It’s not even you that he wronged🤷♀️. Besides Josh was made by God just like you were, so he is just as loved by Him as you are. Never forget that
He sought help and his family has forgiven him. If you can't forgive him, and are uncomfortable reading about him and seeing pictures of him, then you are the one that needs to remove yourself from this site.
If someone is sensitive enough to be bothered by him being wished a happy birthday, perhaps someone should forgo this particular blog lest they get triggered.
@anonymous -> If you are uncomfortable then why visit the duggarfamilyblog? I enjoy posts on the Duggar kids because even though Josh is the oldest and at the age of 33, it is pretty special that Michelle and Jim Bob have 20 kids that are alive, healthy and living their own lives! -
If you don't want to read or see about Josh then it's customary not to read the post. For example, if the post was about liver and onions with sauteed brussels sprouts, I won't read the post because I don't like such yuckiness but I know there are some that do.
anon@10:39 I define forgiveness in a bit different way. To me, it's something I do for myself, not the perpetrator. It means that I allow myself to let go of the hatred and anger. It does not mean I must keep that person in my life or embrace them with trust and acceptance. Josh has not hurt me personally, so there's nothing for me to forgive. Has he earned my respect or trust based on the example he's set in the past? No, because I have no way of knowing if he's really changed for the better or received the right kind of professional help to do so.
I don t like reading about him too but if you visit this blog he Will be written about....i think its a shame they accept Josh but kind of shunned Jill.
Some people have personal experience with this type of problem and seeing a picture like that pop up suddenly is a trigger for all sorts of feelings. Why is that hard to understand? Is giving a perpetrator forgiveness more important than having compassion for your innocent victim fellow humans?
@3:35 Good analogy but you'd think that a blog that wanted to stay popular wouldn't be posting about liver and onions and Brussels sprouts, knowing they are unpopular things. You'd think they'd highlight other tasty things and not try to make unappetizing liver and onions and Brussels sprouts an acceptable idea.
I doubt that if Josh were the son of some of you (most of you) that you'd be so quick to post his picture online yourselves. Josh needs to step out of the public eye and quietly go about his life with is wife and his 6 kids, who need no more spotlights. Yes, seeing him does bring back all the memories of what happened and what everyone said and did. That can't be erased or forgotten.
Josh doesn't have to hide or stop living life just because some people are not comfortable with him. It's not his job to make you comfortable. I don't confine what he did at all but people should learn to find their comfort and happiness themselves and not look to others to give it to them.
12:13, Josh has stepped out of the public eye. He does not post anything on social media, he's not on the TV show, and he can't help what this blog or anyone else posts about him.
I think there will likely be another baby by the end of this year. I wonder where they live? There was a story they were living in a warehouse on the duggar property, but surely that isn't true.
1:36 So what if they are living in a warehouse its their home. Some people have nowhere to live except under the bridge. If they are happy great. It could be made up as an apartment.
Does anyone have the link to the video of Josh explaining how his views on Christmas trees have evolved, after the video he made explaining to the public that they go against his beliefs?
I remember the video of him explaining his original belief, but haven't seen an update on how his view of Christmas trees has changed. It would be very interesting to hear his explanation.
Why do you hope this for another person? As a mother myself, I certainly agree that parenthood has been a joyful, rewarding and enriching role, along with being tremendously challenging. However, it's not all who I am. I was me long before I became a mother and I don't want anyone to look at me and only take inventory on my value as a human being by how many children I have. I'm afraid these Christian TV mega families are sending this very message to viewers with the relentless focus on finding mates and procreating as quickly as possible. I genuinely hope that Anna has other outlets that enrich her spirit outside of being a mom to so many. I also hope she understands that she doesn't have to prove her worth by having more children. I have been very glad that I've had the opportunity to sustain my identity along with being a mother.
I find it curious with 6 children, they manage to have a Christmas tree and it's not knocked down. Years ago, Michelle's 'excuse' for not having one was that they kids would knock it down. We all know it was because they thought it was not a Godly symbol of Christmas and that's why they didn't have one. They admitted that once on TV very early on and never re-admitted it again.
Most of us manage to have a Christmas tree with small children in the house without it getting "knocked down". Perhaps the Duggars have also learned how to do that.
Josh talked about it in an obnoxious Christmas video tour he made years ago. He explained that they only focused on Jesus’s birth, not more secular parts of the celebration, like Christmas trees. Like so many other things, the family has clearly adopted new beliefs about Christmas decor but never felt the need to re-address their evolving beliefs and lifestyles, despite proclaiming them for years on their TV shows. See also: pants, hair color, “leave and cleave,” buy used & save the difference, etc.
Happy 33rd birthday Joshua James Duggar. May God bless your day. I can't wait to see what he has in store for you & I can't wait to hopefully see Anna & the 6 kids & hopefully you someday back on counting on sometime. Natasha b
But if your dad's always stepping in to provide for you (whether that's a house or a job), isn't that the same as bailing you out? Aren't these young adults a little too old to keep being helped/bailed out by their parents? These seemingly "better-raised" kids seem to need a lot of help from Mom & Dad to make it. Just my opinion.
When will the other side explain? Will it be like the interview they had on TV one time? Until then, we have to go with what we've been told and what we've witnessed.
Everybody makes mistakes period Only Jesus was PERFECT. I luv how their family keeps growing! Joseph & Jessa are catching up!!!!!🤗 HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSHUA 🎉🎁🎂🎈
It wasn't a mistake. A mistake is when you do something unintentional like forget to send your mother a birthday card. What josh did was sinful. Stop minimizing his behavior.
No, let's stop minimizing it. Jesus was the only sinless person. The rest of us sin. Sin is not a mistake- we all know right from wrong because we have a conscience. We choose to sin because we want to. Mistakes are things like misunderstanding what someone was trying to communicate. Sinning is a choice that violates our conscience. If our conscience is working, we feel guilty. That guilt is designed to compel us to come clean and openly admit our sin (not minimize it or justify it with soft language like "mistake" or "misspoke" or use youth as an excuse). The more times we override our conscience, the more we kill it, until our sin no longer bothers us...and we're far from God. The more times we fight that guilt, by stubbornly refusing to admit our sin to ourselves or anyone else and actively trying to hide /minimize it, the more we kill our conscience. The truth is everybody sins, but not everybody has the integrity/courage to fully admit it and accept the full consequences of their choices. Human Nature at Work: Most of us deceive ourselves (and try to deceive others) by comparing ourselves to someone worse and telling ourselves "We're not as bad as _______." Not being as "bad" as the worst still doesn't make us good. LOL

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Joshua! Hope it's a nice day for you and your lovely wife and children.

DeleteWell, it's possible they were both reasons.
DeleteYes! I’d like to know the answer to that as well @4:21 am
DeleteThey managed by teaching them to be careful around the tree. There were 7 of us kids and we were taught not to play around the Christmas tree.
DeleteBut most of us don't have that many children, either. If you doubled or tripled your number of kids, maybe you'd think differently?
DeleteJosh talked about it in an obnoxious Christmas video tour he made years ago. DeleteAs a parent, one could easily teach the children not to be destructive and to take proper care of things.
DeleteHah. Some kids are not "easy" to teach not to be destructive. Some kids are way more ingenious, creative, sneaky, or curious than that.
DeleteHappy 33rd birthday Joshua James Duggar. May God bless your day. I can't wait to see what he has in store for you & I can't wait to hopefully see Anna & the 6 kids & hopefully you someday back on counting on sometime. Natasha b
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Josh
ReplyDeleteFor what?
DeleteFor making it through another year (especially this last one).
DeleteHappy Birthday, Josh!! May God bless you!!
ReplyDeleteHope Josh had a nice birthday. That's a really great family picture of everyone. The kids are growing up so fast, especially Mackynzie & Michael!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Josh! I love that family picture and I always love how happy they all are. I adore this little family.
ReplyDeleteCute bunch of kiddos! Mackynzie used to give very cute interviews when she was little.
DeleteHappy Birthday Josh! Blessings to you and your beautiful family!
ReplyDeleteHappiness and Blessings to you Josh throughout your birthday year. God Bless.

How is he supporting his family now that he can't be a reality star and the status of his work on any car lot has been in question for a long time?
ReplyDeleteGood question!
DeleteYou know his dad can help him find something to do, with all his self-employed avenues.

ReplyDeletehappy birthday josh i hope you have a wonderful birthday :)
