It's Duggar Day! Don't miss tonight's new episode of Counting On, which premieres at 9pm ET/8pm CT on TLC.
In "Meet Gracie Duggar," you'll watch John-David Duggar prepare for his daughter's arrival by making a special video for Abbie. Abbie goes into labor, but it is deemed a false alarm. After laboring all night, she and John meet their daughter. Last week's episode, "The Best Duggar Christmas Pageant Ever," reruns beforehand, at 8pm ET/7pm CT.

Aww she is so cute looks like
ReplyDeleteAbby & Johndavid.
Time 1:30AM Tues 9/1/20
I'm glad their showing last weeks episode over again. I dozed off last week, didn't get to see all of the good singing.I'll take a nap today so I can stay awake tonight.Lol
ReplyDeleteWe've ALREADY met Gracie. I'll give this one a miss as I don't want to hear Michelle telling Abbie how to moan.
ReplyDeleteThere must be more to not watching it since that takes up maybe 60 seconds of the episode.
DeleteSuch an infantile thing to say! If you must spread such negativity then have the guts to put your name on it.
DeleteDidn't we already see this birth? They're all becoming one big birth blur at this point.
ReplyDeleteIs there a way even for those who are not in us to see the next episode listing? I mean the description I don't know if this is the right word sorry English is not my first language. I was interested in the last two ep of this season I think next week and then the other.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Poor girl, she has no real house but lives in a trailer park? Maybe Abbie should get back to work.
ReplyDeleteWell John DOES give her pedicures. However, I don't see that as making up for the fact that the REST of the married couples all have nice houses.
DeleteIt's not a trailer park, it's a single trailer and has some connection to a church or church property, I forget. Maybe they're saving to buy or build a house. If I had that many in-laws so close when I was first married, I think I'd live in a tiny shoebox too so I wouldn't be expected to host them all for meals or events. The only thing that worries me about trailer living in Arkansas is the tornado possibility and where you'd go for shelter. Unless there's a sturdy building nearby, they'd need lots of warning and would have to be able to drive to a safe location. Their part of the country is at high risk for tornadoes.
DeleteMaybe Abbie is happy and content.
DeleteMaybe we should let them live their own lives and make their own choices.
DeleteYes, he should give her a house not a trailer. Jb has many houses.
DeleteI just watch tonight’s episode on Demand on my cable TV..... oh my goodness must Michelle be in every daughter-in-laws birth ....she has to comment on everything. We get it she’s had 19 kids... she needs to get out of there now.... she should be in the background if at all... it should have been Abby,John and Abbys mother .... Loved seeing Jinger and Lissy ... and why at every birth the entire family and married kids visit newborn all at the same time and cram everyone in such a tiny space!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat bothered me was how they called Michelle the doula. Real doulas usually have some sort of training or certification. Not always, but usually. The only experience Michelle has is giving birth a lot of times. I've been in a plane probably 100 times, but that doesn't make me a pilot, a co-pilot, or even a flight attendant. This family always tends to elevate status when it comes to occupations or training.
Delete1:30 I agree. Michelle really didn't have much to add except to tell Abbie to relax. When I was in labor, I wanted medical professionals in the room, not outside family. I guess Michelle thinks she's somehow able to calm laboring women down and help labor along just by the fact that she's had kids herself? Who knows. I do get the feeling that Michelle gets a really large kick out of anyone having babies, herself or someone else. It makes her feel important.
DeleteAgreed on the Michelle part! I mean I would let her be around for early labor but then she would have to go.
DeleteYou people should be blocked just because you're so unkind. Why are you on this blog anyway? Your jealousy is palatable. For all time, women have helped each other have babies. Most young women want their Mothers there for comfort and support and to remind them 'They can do this!'. Most women, of Michelle's caliper, don't need training to be there to support their daughters. Irregardless of how many children she has had. She has lived a lot of life, period.
DeleteNot a fan of watching women labor. Especially not a fan if the footage has already aired. How many more episodes make up this season? They're running out of births, family competitions, and parties. The show really has become rather predictable and pointless.
ReplyDeleteI doubt they're ever going to run out of births to film! I agree about not being a fan of watching women in labor.
DeleteThey should rename this show "Previously On."
ReplyDeleteLOL!!
DeleteWe've already seen Abbie give birth. It's a rerun.
ReplyDeletehaven't we already seen this on a previous birth special?
ReplyDeleteWhy does Michelle use that little baby voice when talking to adults? It sounds like she's talking to a puppy or a 2 year old, not adult people.
ReplyDelete🤣🤣
DeleteShe does that all the time. I think it's really annoying.
DeleteTime 10:11PM Wed 9/2/20
DeleteThat is a rude comment that the way
She talks. I find your comment very
Disrespectful It sounds like she's
Talking to a puppy or a 2 year old not
Adult people. If Michelle saw this
Comment she would be very hurt. Very
Rude & disrespectful to post a
Comment like. Think before u speak.
I’ve noticed that about her voice too! I don’t even use that voice when talking to little kids. However, puppies are a different story!
DeleteIt was really bad this episode.
DeleteI don"t find Michelle's voice annoying, I find it calmimg.
DeleteNeddy-I think people comment on Michelle's speaking voice because it's not her natural God-given speaking voice. It's a voice she developed after reading the scripture that "A soft answer turns away wrath..." (Michelle herself explained this in an early 14 Kids and Counting episode). Parents generally use a "parent voice" when they're instructing their children. I think some viewers are offended that Michelle is using her "parenting voice" to grown adults. Perhaps Michelle doesn't realize she's doing that, I don't know. But her voice is very fake and overly controlled sounding because it's not her actual voice and it's something she's practiced. That's not disrespectful or mean, it's true. She knows it's not her natural voice, as she explained on that episode.
DeleteEllie, this is your blog & you can run it like you wish, but I’m getting sick of reading the comments that Neddy posts. Most of them calling people rude, hateful, disrespectful etc. seem to violate your own policies. Just curious as to why these comments are allowed. I’ve gotten to the point of skipping her comments.
DeleteI understand Neddy's situation, but I have to agree with 12:09. Let Ellie decide what gets posted. If it fits her standards, then all you can do is add your comments about the discussion, NOT about the other people or their opinions.
DeleteI agree, just talk with a normal voice. Its nonsence talk always with such a voice.
DeleteThere are women whose normal manner of speaking is very hard and harsh. I would take Michelle's voice any day over theirs.
DeleteTo Anonymous 9/4 12:09pm
DeleteI'm sick of people that have nothing positive to say. Why are you here? In fact, your rudeness and your all around attitude is totally uncalled for. The fact that this huge, wonderful family has successfully remained in tact is Incredible! It is a true testament to Michelle's love, patience, faith and willingness to put others first. She deserves respect on this blog!
I like the Duggar Family, Counting On and Lily and Ellie"s blog. I have comment many times on this blog and its not always positive and I enjoy reading all the comments.
DeleteMichelle commented during Abbie’s labor that she was a “super athlete”. Is Abbie “athletic”? What sports does she play?
ReplyDeleteWho knows? Michelle says lots of stuff that makes NO sense to me.
DeleteShe was talking about the endurance Abbie displayed. Labor requires a lot of strength and endurance.
DeleteI guess they consider having babies a sport.
DeleteI thought it was an odd choice of a word for the situation. You don't have to be athletic to endure childbirth. Women of all body types and physical shapes give birth every day. I suppose she was just trying to be encouraging.
Delete11:09, yes, I think that was her intent.
DeleteI absolutely love this episode. This was such amazing to see your dad there and reading scriptures to help in a way only a daughter father could. This was such a blessing to witness. Congratulations mommy and daddy🙏🏾💕🙏🏾
ReplyDeleteI was very close to my dad and he was always there for me during many difficult times. Not once did he ever feel the need to quote scriptures, nor did I feel the need to hear them. Just his presence, touch of his hand, and heartfelt personal reassurances were my source of
Deletecomfort. He passed away 30 years ago and I still miss him every single day.
I love my Dad dearly (I'm closer to him than my mom), but the only man I want in Labor & Delivery with me is my husband and the doctor or anesthesiologist.
DeleteDifferent strokes for different folks.
DeleteAnybody can read scriptures. What's best is to hear your parents' own words of comfort, to have that dialogue. Abbie missed out on that. I have a feeling they wanted to show it though to show the shower attendees that the cards they filled out were actually used. Oh well.
DeleteFrankly, I thought it was ridiculous. I'd rather TALK with my father during such a time instead of listening to him read something.
DeleteIt seemed like a staged activity to me. It's one thing to support your child during labor with your presence but scripture reading for TV cameras is a bit over the top IMO.
DeleteBut Scripture is the words of God her Father, highly comforting to those who are close to Him.
DeleteSuch a doll! Congrats again John and Abbie.
ReplyDeleteTime 10:11PM Tues 9/1/20
ReplyDeleteAww Gracie is so cute in the photo
Look like mommy & daddy.
What an exceptionally cute little baby!!
ReplyDeleteMeet Gracie Duggar????We have already seen her, met her and we know her. This is so old it's not funny. I agree that they have to come up with other things of get off the air.
ReplyDeleteI love to hear from Michelle. She is so kind. I would choose her to be in the labor room anytime.
ReplyDeleteAbbie and John are such a solid couple. I love that Abbie conveys her knowledge or opinion in a very intelligent, soft manner.
ReplyDeleteDoes Abbie give back as much "romance" as she seems to get from John? They kept talking about how he was the romantic one. She seems cool and practical, and doesn't seem to treat him the same way he treats her.
DeleteI even get the feeling that she gets a little weary of all the attention. Not that she doesn’t totally love him. She most certainly does. But since she doesn’t reciprocate, maybe John should cut back a little?
Delete8:17, the show doesn't tell us everything. I'm sure she has ways of reciprocating, or John wouldn't be as gaga about her as he is.
DeleteIf anybody read me scriptures during the worst pain of my life, I’d yell at them to stop!
ReplyDeleteME TOO 7:58. Who can concentrate on anything else at a time like that? Give me an epidural and a nap, not a sermonette.
DeleteMe too!
DeleteI have to say that last year I suffered a backwards fall at my MIL's the day before Thanksgiving (something on the floor), striking my neck on coffee table. The day after Thanksgiving I went to my Dr. for x-rays and ended up in a neck brace in an ambulance to the ER with a fractured neck vertebrae that any movement could paralyze me. Waiting 4 hours in the ER (in excruciating pain from the neck brace digging into the back of my head and fighting the urge to shift at all) for a scan, with them talking about flying me to a major medical hospital for emergency spinal surgery, I asked my family to get out the lists of "Fear not" Bible verses I carry in my purse and read them out loud to me. Of course that's a little different than Labor though. LOL
DeleteIf Abbie liked it, it's OK. Seems rather useless to me.
DeleteThese people have no regard for the privacy of their children and use them as entertainment props to earn a buck. These newborns have barely even come into the world and they’re being splashed on television and the public internet because their lazy family can’t be bothered to work proper jobs? Horrible.
ReplyDeleteMost celebrities are very protective of their children's privacy. But then we have the Duggars and Bates using their children to earn a living. Sad.
DeleteJD needs to open a nail salon.
ReplyDeletelol
DeleteDoes John have a job? We saw him working as a constable in the past but I believe that is an unpaid position, and not sure he even does that anymore. And while he is a pilot, we haven't seen any way that this is a money-making thing for him. Does Medicorps pay him a salary? Maybe the show pays enough for the two of them to live without any other job??
ReplyDeleteIt probably would be hard to make ends meet for some of them without money from the show.
DeleteWho knows where the money donated to Medicorps goes. I doubt we'll ever be shown a breakdown, although being a non-profit, that info should be given.
DeletePersonally, I'm glad this "lazy family" is on TV. It's been enjoyable watching their children mature, get married and have their own children. If you can't say something nice.......
ReplyDeleteVoicing a concern for children is nice. Exploiting them, on the other hand, is not nice.
DeleteIt's fine John is living in a trailer. Saves money. And only one baby Don't really need the space. Don't need a house yet. Don't need to spend money "decorating." It's fine to wait a bit. Maybe they will stop at one child. That will save money too!
ReplyDeleteWhy do I never hear people commenting on Hollywood stars, who make their living off of movies and TV being lazy, using their kids to make money, etc., etc., etc. Could their comments about this family have anything to do with the fact that this family is Christian?
ReplyDelete@9:02 Perhaps people think that those who hold themselves up as Godlly Christians and are out trying to save souls should be held to a higher standard than your average Hollywood celebrity. BTW, there are many in Hollywood who go to great lengths to protect the privacy of their minor children.
DeleteWhy Michelle as doula? She has no training in the matter, just has given birth many times. Not the same thing. Whatever happened to 'professionally trained doula", Jana? Didn't she have an interest in that or was it just to be an accountability partner for Jill? We all suspected that was the real reason Jana 'trained' as a doula. Jana's sudden dumping of this right after Jill married was proof enough for me. This family twists the truth and carefully releases information to protect themselves.
ReplyDeleteA doula is there for support, primarily, and some women are great at that without professional training. A friend of mine was my "doula" and did an amazing job!
Delete5:52, Right on all accounts. And many viewers accept everything they see on TV or everything the family says without question and without checking facts. Not 100% "reality" on this show.
Delete
