Baby Girl Forsyth is four days old. Joy and Austin still haven't revealed her name, but we thought we would share this adorable photo. Do you think she resembles Gideon? How about the other two Duggar babies pictured below? The Duggar genes certainly are strong!

Wow! If I didn't know that they were two-and-a-half years apart, I would have guessed that Baby Girl Forsyth and Gideon are twins! The resemblance is amazing.

DeleteAs someone who works with newborn babies everyday, I can confirm that they do indeed look like tiny old men. Sometimes they also look like aliens. I mean this as a compliment because tiny old men, alien babies are totally adorable!

The Vuolo genes are also strong as Felicity takes after her grandmother, Diana Vuolo.
I agree with you completely. So far the Forsyth genes and Vuolo genes are coming through clear. That's why it's interesting when they have many kids because then eventually some may have one with different features. The first few Duggars had lighter hair and then suddenly Jessa and Jinger came a long. With so many decades of birth control in our society most of us only are around families with 1-4 kids. It's interesting to see the family resemblances and differences (who takes after who) when you let nature take it's course and you don't stop at 2 kids.
DeleteThat is interesting! A larger sample size will be able to show more variation. I have also used the Duggar and Bates families to refute the notion that certain genders run in families. You’ll have a family with three boys say, “well boys just run in my family.” Same with girls. If you looked at the Duggar’s first six kids, you could say that girls run stronger in their family because they had four girls and two boys. The next nine would show the opposite with eight boys and only one girl in the mix. Then their last four kids were all girls. It’s a 50/50 shot every time people. Families do not have a genetic propensity to only have one gender

DeleteAnon 1:46, I think that Kendra looks very much like a Duggar herself. When she was first intoduced on the show, I used to always get her mixed up with the Duggar sisters, especially Joy and Jana. Now that Jennifer and Jordyn are older, they look a lot like the others too.

DeleteI believe and anyone on here can correct me if I am wrong but I think Jessa and Ben waited 5 days to name Spurgeon and maybe 6 days to name Henry. It's Joy and Austin's child. I'm sure whatever they name her and when they announce will be up to them.
DeleteI'm sure they've chosen a name by now. They just haven't shared it with the public yet. It's my understanding that this baby was born in a hospital on August 21 and a name must be chosen before the mother (Joy) can be discharged. It all has to do with hospital paperwork, including new baby's social security number application.

I thought maybe Georgia too but not sure why other than the G. Someone suggested August Anna Joy. That IS really pretty but I hope they don't use Anna again since they already have a daughter (Annabell) blessed with that name. August Joy is great though and kind of after both parents... AUstin/AUgust and obviously Joy for Joy. It may also establish a pattern. G for boys and A for girls.

ReplyDeleteAnonymous 1:40, maybe they don't have a name yet. Ben and Jessa didn't choose or announce Spurgeon's name for about a week and it seems like Henry was five days old. I have a friend that didn't name her kids until 28 days and 30 days. I think it's perfectly okay not to tell us everything. I'm excited too but I understand it will be announced when they're ready.
