July is a busy month for Duggar birthdays, so we decided to combine two of the grandchildren. Samuel Dillard turned three last week, and Meredith Duggar turns five today. Happy birthday to these two!

ReplyDeleteHappy 5th birthday Meredith Grace Duggarπ
May God bless your day π
I hope you have a wonderful day ❣️ Natasha B.
Happy Birthday to both of these adorable kids!ππ
ReplyDeleteI think Meredith deserves her own post. 5 is a big birthday!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think Meredith knows or cares.
DeleteYes. I agree. Give Meredith Grace her own blog post!
Delete5 is usually a big birthday because that’s the age children start kindergarten, which is a huge milestone ( first day of big kid school!). Merideth isn’t not going to a brick and mortar school so this is t really a big milestone birthday
DeleteDear Meredith: I hope, that you are having, a fantastic 5th Birthday!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are just cousins, not siblings. Why not do a separate post for each of them?
ReplyDeleteBecause it's easier and less time-consuming for the people who run this blog and also for the me as a reader.
DeleteIt is Elly's blog so she does it as she sees fit.
DeleteThere are so many birthdays that honestly I'm even a little tired of them, and I enjoy reading about their family.
DeleteI think maybe we shouldn’t cover the Dillards as they have made a different path and do not wish to associated with the show or main family in a positive manner.
ReplyDeleteI agree in some way, but their kids are still GrandDuggars, so just a birthday post would not hurt anyone.
DeleteThe blog is about the family. The Dillards are still part of the family. The blog doesn't have to follow the same rules as the show.
DeleteWould you like their photo removed from the header, too?
Delete'We' don't cover the Dillards. Lily and Ellie write this blog, presumably in consultation with the Duggar family, and they are free to cover it in any way that they agree upon. 'We' can choose to follow it or not.
DeleteWe know about the rift from the show and the chasm between Derick and Jim Bob. However, Jill is still on pretty good terms with her siblings and these birthday kids are innocent bystanders in a family 'feud' they never asked to be any part of.
DeleteYep, those poor innocent kids have been through enough already.
DeleteShame on you 7:05pm... Samuel is a 3 yr old toddler ...they can celebrate whom ever they choose to celebrate ... it's their grandchild for goodness sake. I sure hope this isn’t the way you treat children in general...Jill and Derick have done nothing wrong... Derick is the head of his family and is leading his family.... not Jim Bob telling them what to do!
DeleteI’m not sure if you guys follow the mainstream news here but Derek has been saying awful things about the family over and over for at least a year. While Jill is adorable and not to blame, she has also said nothing to defend her family. He has clearly stated he plans to write a defamatory tell-all book on the family.
DeleteTo me, this means if you are a fan of the Duggar family (which we all are!), we do have to acknowledge that Jill has chosen to go with her husband and his choices. That is her rite. However, yes, I personally think it means no birthday tributes or headings or updates. Derek seems to want to create his own news for his own family independently and we should respect their choice to break off.
What's wrong with what the Dillards are doing? There's nothing wrong with going to law school, sending kids to public school, or women wearing pants!
Delete3:40, the Dillard’s are no longer participating on the show, they are however still part of the family and always will be so they will remain on the blog, and I really don’t think they mind that. Also Dereck has been letting people in on the truth behind what goes on in the Duggar household and I say good for him.
DeleteMO- Just goes to show you, all families have issues. It's just a sad part of life. :o(
DeleteI respect the Dillards a lot and love seeing them covered here.
DeleteIf all families have issues, then why aren't the Duggars truthful and talk about theirs? I mean other than getting paid to talk about them in a heavily edited "special" where everyone says carefully scripted things and cries on cue for sympathy.
DeleteBelieve it or not, not sharing your family issues with the whole world is actually ok.
DeleteTwo little cuties! Happy Birthday to you!
ReplyDeleteGrandduggar #5 turned 5! Happy birthday Meredith!
ReplyDeleteNot trolling, but I think she’s #6? Wasn’t Israel #5 and born in April 2015. Old memory could be wayyyyy off π
DeleteAnonymous 11:53, is correct. In the "Birthday," section of this blog, you can see that Israel, is grandchild #4 and Meredith is grandchild #5.
DeleteHappy birthday Meredith!! I turned 31 yesterday too. Wish I was 5 again! Lol!
ReplyDeleteBeing 5 again maybe, but definitely with the bank accounts and car keys and boyfriend I have now, not then! LOL
DeleteI wish i was 31 again... π
DeleteWishing you a year of fun and blessings. God Bless.

Joan,Marion and Marilyn
Hope they had good ones
ReplyDeleteAt 1117 I think Samuel deserves his on birthday post. His parents are my favorite Duggar couple. Natasha B.
ReplyDeleteI thought you were suppose to love your kids unconditionally not conditionally. Looks like Jim Bob only treats his kids with fatherly love and open arms only if they live by his rules. Very sadππ
ReplyDeleteDerrick carries his dislike of Jim Bob too far, especially if Derrick does write a tell-all book. He is married to this man’s daughter, for goodness sake. I feel so sorry for Jill. Her husband is tearing down And tearing apart the people she loves; the people who love her. Jim Bob did something right in raising Jill. She is a lovely human being. If Derrick, indeed writes a book, he is trying to make money off of his negative feelings about his wife’s parents. Why in the world wouldn’t Derrick take Jill’s feelings into consideration?!? I feel bad when my husband criticizes someone in my family. I can’t imagine how badly I would feel if he carried it to the extent that Derrick does. I imagine Derrick has some valid complaints about Jim Bob, but for Jill’s sake, keep those complaints privately between himself and Jim Bob.
ReplyDeleteIf the cows are already out, it's a little late to close the barn door. I pin any publicity regarding Duggar family relationships entirely on JimBob. He's the one who made a deal with TLC years ago and sold out the family's privacy. I don't think Derick has done anything without consulting Jill first and I think he truly cares about her. It's entirely possible that Jill is trying to preserve whatever contact JimBob allows her to have with her siblings. I've seen red flags with this family since they first went on the air. It just all seemed a little too perfect.
DeleteI think Derick is taking Jill's feelings into consideration. Perhaps it's something her own father has failed to do in the past. I suspect the Duggars have a lot of issues that need working out, just like most families do. It's unfortunate that JimBob has subjected his family to years of public scrutiny on TLC.
DeleteI agree with 9:56. Derick may have some valid complaints about the family and about Jim Bob. But as Jill's husband, he is still part of the family. It really would be best to keep those complaints private and not air them publicly. As a attorney, he will need to keep those things in mind when dealing with clients as well. There will be private matters between him and clients. Anyway, airing the family dirt publicly seems like it will only make matters worse. And it isn't good for Derick either.
