"We're looking forward to Felicity having a sibling. She's a little social butterfly."
-Jeremy Vuolo

Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo are expecting, and they are also ready to reveal the gender. Jinger is 15 weeks pregnant with their second baby girl! Visit the TLC website to watch the couple's video announcement. People Magazine also has an online article. The Vuolos had a miscarriage last fall and say that their faith, family, and friends got them through.

In other news, new episodes of Counting On will return Tuesday, June 30th, at 9pm ET/8pm CT.

  1. Wow, I had no idea that Jinger was currently expecting and had also suffered a miscarriage. I wish the Vuolos all the best.

  2. A few monts ago, I got slammed on this site for posting that Jinger might be pregnant when I saw a picture of her holding her Valentines Day bouquet at an odd angle in front of her. The comments were vicious and as it turns out, uncalled for. Thankfully, the Vuolo's cleared up my suspicion.
    Congratulations Jinger, Jeremy, and Felicity.

    1. She's only 15 weeks along now, so that means she was just barely pregnant and not even showing on Valentine's Day. I don't understand why it's so important to some people that they guess correctly if someone is pregnant. Do you do that to people you know?

      Delete
    2. She would barely have been pregnant at that time and wouldn't have anything to hide.

      Delete
    3. If she is now 15 wks, then she would have been not or only a few days pregnant on Valentine's Day.

      Delete
    4. If she's 15 weeks now, she would have been on her cycle on Valentine's Day, hadn't conceived yet.

    5. If Jinger is 15 weeks pregnant now, she would have been 0-2 weeks pregnant then. Fun fact, pregnancy is timed from the date of your last period, so when a baby is conceived, you’re already two weeks pregnant. The point is it would have been impossible to know from a glance at that point. Jinger wouldn’t even have known if she’d been pregnant or not.
No one should ever be vicious, but you also shouldn’t speculate if someone is pregnant or not. Beyond it being incredibly bad manners, it can be hurtful too. Jinger had recently suffered a miscarriage. She “should” have still been pregnant then. On a less serious note, when you do that, you’re also saying someone looks fatter. Something a woman never wants to here. Couples have the right to announce pregnancy when they feel comfortable. I work with a lot of women. We always have several pregnant people. Sometimes I see a girl who I think is pregnant. I’m often right, but not always. I would never ask!

  3. I don’t understand the concept of announcing early miscarriages. Why can’t they just say the are pregnant again? Whats the need for announcing they had a miscarriage, is it for attention?
Obviously joy had to because she was already 5 months and they announced the pregnancy to the public. But why announce if you one before the 12 week point. Sorry it just sounds attention seeking and screams look at me I want sympathy from complete strangers.

    1. They could be trying to remove some of the stigma of talking about miscarriage. I know from experience with my first loss how isolating and lonely miscarriage can be, with those around you not knowing that you’ve recently experienced trauma. With my second miscarriage I told more people, and was able to get the support that I needed. I felt safer telling people the second time because I had heard of others speaking out about their experiences. I don’t think that Jinger is attention seeking, I think she’s brave.

      Delete
    2. Um, because it was their baby whose life they valued?? Why shame someone for speaking about something important to them

      Delete
    3. I think there is content in the new season of the show with them announcing the pregnancy.....so they sort of had to explain since this pregnancy is not that one.

      Delete
    4. Some of us desire to share our loss of life so others can celebrate that baby's life with us. I miscarried two of my babies and was comforted by sharing my loss with others.

    5. Well, they already filmed the announcement of the first pregnancy for tlc, the pregnant gingerbread they showed her family online was obviously before Christmas so it must have been that pregnancy, it's obvious tlc will want to keep that, I would blame tlc not them, they want as much drama as possible to keep the show interesting to keep ratings up, they will be filming Jinger crying and talking about her pain like they did when Lauren miscarried.

      Delete
    6. Maybe just to show how common miscarriages are, and that they are just a normal family that sometimes experiences setbacks, but still have faith. Michelle Duggar, Anna, Lauren, Joy and Jinger have all experienced a miscarriage.

      Delete
    7. @1:11, yeah but why announce such as common occurrence to the whole world then?

      Delete
    8. I agree OP. Especially when they keep on bringing it up.

      Delete
    9. It is helpful for people in the public eye to speak about it and help people know they aren’t alone and that there’s hope afterwards

      Delete
    10. 7:43. Because when you speak out, you are inviting comments that disagree, is jinger doesn't want to be shamed don’t share it to the public.

      Delete
    11. @6:23, if a miscarriage is so isolating and lonely why can’t you just talk about with your family and friends? Why announce it to the whole world. Sorry but announcing such a private matter like a miscarriage to the public is attention seeking behavior to me. It’s not like she announced her pregnancy to then public and then miscarried. It happened very early and and should have been a private matter.

      Delete
    12. 6:23- I think it's safe to say that any "stigma" there has been regarding sharing miscarriage stories has passed. It seems to be a popular topc of discussion with celebrities especially- that, along with infertility. I'm not saying it's not healthy to talk about these things. I could never conceive myself and know the pain of that. However, there is a time to move on. There's a an old poem, rather sad really, but with a stark element of truth:

      Solitude by E.W. Wilcox
      Laugh, and the world laughs with you;
      Weep, and you weep alone;
For the sad old earth must borrow its mirth,
But has trouble enough of its own.
      Sing, and the hills will answer;
      Sigh, it is lost on the air;
The echoes bound to a joyful sound,
      But shrink from voicing care.

      Rejoice, and men will seek you;
      Grieve, and they turn and go;
They want full measure of all your pleasure,
But they do not need your woe.
      Be glad, and your friends are many;
Be sad, and you lose them all,—
There are none to decline your nectared wine,
But alone you must drink life’s gall.

      Feast, and your halls are crowded;
Fast, and the world goes by.
Succeed and give, and it helps you live,
But no man can help you die.
There is room in the halls of pleasure
For a large and lordly train,
But one by one we must all file on
Through the narrow aisles of pain.

    1. Good point! I thought Jinger looked gorgeous in her pink dress for the maternity shoot.

    2. I agree. In addition there is no like pregnancy announcement here, just "gender reveal" as if we were supposed to know already that Jinger is pregnant.

      Delete
    3. Who owns the rights to those pink dress pictures? Not this blog. The Vuolos were probably paid to shoot those pictures and there's got to be a signed or implied contract limiting photo rights.

    4. They had an article in People magazine that came out same day they announced. The pics are nice😊

      Delete
    5. I think they are given the pictures for the blog. They don’t pick them.

    6. Jinger looked nice in the pictures. Jeremy did not. I’m sorry, but IMO, it literally looks as if he’s a grandpa.

      Delete
    7. I agree 9:02! He literally looks years and years older than jinger. He needs to trim his hair beard to get back looking young again. I guess I don’t understand men wanting to look old because of a fad or statement. Ben did that too awhile back and he looked awful! Why wouldn’t you !!want!! to look young?! I guess I wouldn’t be helping myself look old, it’ll come fast enough and then I can’t do anything about it anymore!

    3. Yes? If she is 15 weeks along she was NOT pregnant on Valentine's Day.

    4. 8:45 AM: if she id due in November, she got pregnant around Valentine's Day.

    6. 8:45 - she’s 15 weeks now meaning she conceived at the end of February, not in the middle.

  9. How a "Gender reveal" post can come without any prior "Pregnancy Announcement"? Just saying...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. They did a pregnancy announcement and a gender reveal all at once. But I agree, the title should’ve been “pregnancy announcement” instead of “gender reveal”. It made it seem like they announced their pregnancy a while ago.

      Delete
    2. Even more puzzling, how can a gender reveal be done without anything being released, shot at, or blown up? No confetti or paint mess?

      Delete
    3. They look so foolish with masks on.. if you're not sick you dont need a mask! Unless you have health issues, stay home! President broke off from World Health Organization most likely because they're frauds and lied to everyone to break down our economy! Now the world is burning! May God help us...

      Delete
    4. Oh for Pete’s sake. I’m sure the WHO was just chomping at the bit to tear down our economy! Did they also have the same goal for every other country in the world? We need to stop looking at every catastrophe through such a very narrow lens. The whole world does NOT revolve around the U.S. That is a very ethnocentric point of view.

      Delete
    5. @7:27 They look so HEALTHY with masks on. Your information about when to wear masks (only when sick) is outdated and incorrect. If that were true, then no healthy doctor or dentist would ever wear a mask, pandemic or not. There is no valid reason any more to go out in public without covering your nose and mouth. I'm not going to listen to "masks pick up germs" and all that. Not true anyway, and there are tests to prove that masks are good. Wear the mask, unless you're on oxygen or have a true medical problem (not one you made up to get into Costco or wherever) that prevents it. People are getting assaulted and even arrested/fined for not wearing masks in this country and in others. Jinger and Jeremy are smart to cover up, for many reasons. The rest, the non-maskers, are the spreaders.

      Delete
    6. We don't know why they have the masks on in the picture. For all we know, they may not be at home or they may have someone else there at the time that they're being considerate and respectful of. They may be practicing wearing their masks to get Lizzy comfortable wearing hers if they need to go out (pediatrician's office, or eventually when Jinger goes into labor). It's difficult to just start masking a 3 year old and many children are terrified when mom/dad mask up. Developmental Child Psychology Fact: Children "read" a person by their facial expression-covered faces often scare children (think malls and Santa, the Easter Bunny/ costumed characters with big heads at theme parks or children's events, etc.). I take it from the doll's inclusion, they're trying to "normalize" the mask for Felicity.

      Delete
    7. 3:44, there is nothing "healthy looking" about wearing a mask. Supposedly they were to catch droplets from going out, not to keep the virus from coming in, so the supposition if you are wearing one is "might be sick," not "healthy." Besides, the WHO changed their status yet again and said you only should wear one if you are caring for someone sick, which doesn't make any sense to me.

      Delete
    8. @7:27- Information has been evolving with COVID. Experts recommend wearing a mask, as you would cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough. It's just common courtesy and respect for others. If retailers are wearing them, I don't think it's asking to much for customers to do the same. My sister-in-law is recovering from COVID after a three week trip through hell. She was otherwise healthy with no underlying conditions. She lives in a rural area and an asymptomatic guest in her home exposed her. It's that easy to catch, not so easy to recover.

      Delete
    9. @9:14 I'm sorry about your SIL. That sounds terrible. Glad she's recovering. How it was transmitted is an example of why it's not safe to be around anyone outside the immediate household. The Duggars don't seem to be able to grasp that concept and have been back and forth visiting, posting pictures to prove it, plus they traveled out of state recently and had that large gathering in late February. This nasty virus looks for even the smallest opportunity to infect.

      Delete
    10. 5:49, Felicity is under the age of 2, and it's not recommended for children under 2 to wear a mask.

      Delete
    11. Newest study, results out this week:

Chances of catching Covid without wearing a mask: 18%

Chances of catching Covid with wearing a mask: 3%

I think they just proved what common sense could have told you all along.

      Delete
    12. 8:38, that your chances of catching Covid aren't that large?

    1. You all want to call babies after miscarriage "rainbow" babies....I'd like to point out the neither Jinger or Jeremy have referred to this baby as a "rainbow" baby.

      Delete
    2. Hi all. Recently I’ve been thinking about the term “rainbow baby” and wondering if it’s one Christians should use. I’m not trying to call anyone out. This is a term I have used myself. In the Bible, God sets the rainbow in the sky as a sign of the covenant He has made not to destroy the earth with a flood again. It is God’s promise to all creation. I get that a lot of people see rainbows as hope after a storm, and they are. The reason I am beginning to take issue with the term rainbow baby is that it seems to imply that healthy babies are promised after miscarriage. That God owes them to us. This is simply not true. There are many women who do not have other babies after miscarrying. Are they less blessed by God? Is God cheating them? If you are not a Christian, I do not expect you to understand or agree. I know many Christians won’t either. I am not trying to make a declaration that everyone who uses the term shouldn’t. I am just thinking and wondering what other Christians thoughts are.

      Delete
    3. 9:57, interesting thought. I don't think that's the intent most people have when they use that term, but I don't really know.

      Delete
    4. Yes, 9:57, I’ve always had a nagging wondering about that term. I understand now how maybe I was feeling after you explained it like that. I wholeheartedly agree to your idea. It’s kinda like the whole “if you’re rich you must be blessed from God” idea that a lot of Christians embrace. Actually God said money was a abomination to Him, that a lack of it was more of a blessing than the other way around as we rely on Him more. If money was a blessing what about all the poor ones out there that are His children also and trying to live a sanctified life? They could say to God, am I not anything to you since you won’t bless me with money? This all is kinda down that same thing with the term rainbow baby I think.

      Delete
    5. 9:57- If you live long enough, you come to understand that there are no guarantees in this life, no promises. It doesn't matter if you are religious, go to church, or not. Life just happens- the good, the bad, and the ugly. No one is spared. People have been making up "feel good" stories since time began to help cope with life's uncertainties.

    1. If somebody guessed no one is pregnant and was right-that would be a miracle and a skill. Otherwise... So the end to the theories of Jinger being different or at least spacing kids.

Anyway, 2 girls growing together is great! Love my sister!

      Delete
    2. It's pretty easy. Their faces always get fuller when they're pregnant, for starters.

      Delete
    3. @ 11:28am - considering Felicity will be 2 years, 4 months when the new baby is born, she’s definitely spacing more than traditional Duggars. Even if she hadn’t miscarried, that baby would have been born near Felicity’s 2nd birthday. Two years apart is a common age difference for the general public.

      Delete
    4. 6:31 I believe she is just not as fertile as other Duggars, neither they waited a year after the marriage nor spaced kids. Just could not get pregnant sooner. There were some hints before Felicity. And I'm even more sure now.

  29. Congratulations, Jeremy and Jinger! Wow, they look so different than when they announced their first pregnancy. Is Jeremy growing his hair out? I love Jinger's blonde hair; it looks so natural!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. His hairline is receding.
Also, I don’t think Jinger’s blonde hair looks natural at all. It doesn’t suit her skin tone.

      Delete
    2. Sure, the blonde looks like it naturally came out of a bottle.

      Delete
    3. God knew what he was doing when he gave her dark hair. The blonde looks too forced.

      Delete
    4. Personally, I like Jinger with dark hair and maybe some copper highlights. Her features are so dark, it just looks more natural to me. I feel like Jinger gets so much attention because she has totally broken away from the way she was raised and she is viewed as "rebellious". I don't see it as rebellion but just not in agreement with her parents values and Biblical interpretation of dress.

      Delete
    5. She looks nicer with dark hair anyway. California is no longer about blondes...

      Delete
    6. I am so disappointed in all of the unkind comments about Jeremy and Jinger. He can't do anything about the receding hairline. As long as Jinger and Jeremy like her hair, we really should keep our "snide" remarks to ourselves. Jinger is an adult with the right to make her own decisions about the way she dresses and wears her hair. Who are we to judge her values?

      Delete
  30. Why did they hide the miscarriage for so long?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don’t think you can ‘hide’ a miscarriage. It’s all up to the mother (and father) to share about a miscarriage or not. That has nothing to do with hiding, just everyone’s personal choice and privacy.

      Delete
    2. I'm sure the ones that mattered most knew and they didn't hide it from those. The whole world doesn't need to know everything asap.

      Delete
    3. A lot of couples don’t talk about their miscarriages until they get pregnant again and further into a pregnancy. Otherwise people start to speculate over whether or not they’ll be able to conceive again and it’s very frustrating.

      Delete
    4. It's their personal business and they should decide whether or when they will share. Something that painful can feel raw for a long time. Why would you purposely share a personal hurt if you weren't emotionally ready?

      Delete
    5. I don't think one has to announce a miscarriage to the whole world. It's good that they mentioned it now, but most probably it was very early term.

      Delete
    6. I don't think they "hid" the miscarriage from anyone in their family circle or from their friends. Some people don't share everything that happens in their life with the general public when it happens.

      Delete
    7. People are allowed to grieve in private.

      Delete
    8. For media clicks in their social pages. You know Jeremy is aching to be mega famous!

      Delete
    9. Then they shouldn’t tell us they love us and act like they are soooo grateful for their followers.

      Delete
    10. Maybe they don't consider it the public's business.

      Delete
    11. I didn't share my miscarriage with anyone because frankly I didn't want to hear people telling me the details of their own while I was still trying to get through mine. I also didn't appreciate people listing off their miscarriages. It may be your 50+, but it's my first. I hope I'm never and will never be that blase about anyone's pain and loss (1st or 50th).

  31. Yay congrats to them!

  32. I was actually thinking to myself two days ago that Jinger is going to have another soon. I know I should trust my gut instinct more but sometimes I don’t like to because it has also been right about negative happenings and I have a bad feeling about another person in a different reality show.
Congratulations Jinger and Jeremy and our prayers are focused on you right now for your excitement, but also for your devastating loss. I just can’t imagine how hard it is. I personally feel immense guilt for ‘giving’ my child autism. It has to be me, I ‘baked’ her. :(

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. 6:53- It's not you. No one knows for sure what causes autism. There's speculation that it can be a combination of inherited or environmental factors, or it just happens. I hope you can make peace with this and not blame yourself for your child's condition. It's counterproductive.

      Delete
    2. I feel so sorry for you - please don‘t blame yourself for your daughter‘s autism. I‘m sure you‘re loving your child a lot and support her with/in whatever you can. And this is what matters.

      Delete
    3. Anon 6.53. Believe me, you did not ‘give’ your child autism. What happened in the womb did not cause your child’s autism & neither did anything you did while ‘baking her’ as you so nicely put it. Please, please, do not blame yourself for this extremely complex condition. I’m sure you have a lovely daughter who is a credit to you & im sure your a fantastic mother too. Please be kind to yourself & get rid of those awful thoughts. I know how hard it is when you have a child with any medical condition to believe that it’s something you did as a mother, I felt this for years with my own son’s dyspraxia (which is also another condition on the Asd spectrum), & it was only years later I realised these things just happen. As someone who sees genetic anomalies every day I know so well how easily mums blame themselves for their child’s condition, but you must stop. Take care of yourself & your daughter 💞.

      Delete
    4. Please - never ever say you gave your child autism. It is so very far from the truth & not fair to you or your husband. Consider this, review the child's vitamin & mineral levels. Find a good naturopath. Search on the computer for holistic or natural cures. One site I like is called naturalnews.com. so much info on there, search all over. Read the articles but go all the way to the bottom & folks write in their stories. I could say alot more but please believe me you did not make your child this way. Help her by being the never give up Mom. Be the research investigator. But taking charge of making changes & add in things you learn will only help her & you. Leave the guilt - kick it out the door & tell it never to return! Then what I do when I have a question or decision to make I pray to God & ask him to show me in a way that I will understand & he will show you the way. He will answer those questions but you also have to be listening & watching for the answers. They sometimes come in funny & odd ways! I once got a very important answer from a dog! 5. Adding my two cents here, I've been so privileged to know three children on the autism spectrum, take care of and teach another, and have a brother-in-law also on the spectrum. Each one is individual and beautiful, with their own set of gifts, talents, and interests. Likewise, they all have different challenges as part of their individuality. Yes, the challenges may be more intense, but the person is worth the effort. Autism is a disorder-It's the disorder's fault and no one else's. The reality is that we live in a less than perfect world where diseases and disorder happen. Mom, pick yourself up, hold your head up and just love your child to the best of your ability, remembering that you're human and show yourself some grace. Don't let anyone or any idea make you feel guilty or ashamed. Some of the best moms I've even known (and I"m 52) all parent children with autism. Seriously. They focus on seeing their children, instead of the disorder.

    6. One question I have. I’ll get kicked for this and that’s ok. People need to research this more before coming back with a negative comment. Did she receive any vaccinations? It’s coming out more and more what vaccines will really do to our children and autism is a huge number 1 thing coming out of vaccinations.

      Delete
    7. I think the one who needs to research this more is 10:51. That vaccination - autism link has been debunked over and over by reputable science. What you read about a vaccination link is opinion, not fact. An easy thing to blame.

      Delete
    8. Well, you called it 10:51!

      Delete
    9. It's time to stop blaming autism on vaccines. Even the Autism Society does not list that as a cause! It's not "coming out more and more."

      Delete
    10. Did they have vaccines? I know a few people with kids on the spectrum that developed autism after receiving certain vaccines so yes.. they very well may have been given autism. Not to judge anyone but my son is healthier than any vaccinated child we know.

      Delete
    11. 4: 27 I'm sorry you felt the need to.use poison rather than natural herbs

      Delete
    12. @8:21 There's not an herb in the world that will stop the spread of polio, diptheria, measles, chicken pox, etc. etc. etc.

      Delete
    13. 8:13 Why do you think your child is "healthier" than other children? Did it occur to you that he/she might not be catching diseases because the other children around him/her are vaccinated, and their immunity is protecting your child? You should be thankful for the parents who vaccinate.

Remember, autism naturally becomes apparent at some point in development. Children are constantly being vaccinated during their early years. The timing of the two is simply coincidental. It's like saying I got a pimple on a day when I was out in the rain so rain causes pimples. Two separate things, just like autism and vaccines.

You can't "give" someone what is probably an underlying genetic disorder by administering anything like a vaccine. Your house is chock-full of chemicals, many more than any vaccine. You expose yourself to countless chemicals all day long. Everything is made of chemical elements, from the air you breathe to the food you eat to everything you use on or in your body. Why not blame them, too? Why single out vaccines? While this unfounded accusation continues, children worldwide are dying of preventable diseases.

      Delete
    14. Autism Speaks, the advocacy group for parents and children, says that vaccines do not cause autism. The American Academy of Pediatrics has a list of about 50 studies that were done, and none of them found a link to vaccines. A federal court studied the evidence and ruled there was no connection. How much more evidence do some of you need before you, certainly no experts or researchers, will stop claiming there's a link?

  33. Congratulations, to Jinger, and Jeremy!!!!! I was curious, which of the married couples, would have Michelle, and Jim Bob's, 19th Grandchild, which would tie the number of Michelle, and Jim Bob's children (19), with the number of Michelle and Jim Bob's grandchildren (19). I am looking forward, to June 30th, when the new season of Counting On, will be on.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yes,and there is also a tie in gender, ten son and nine daughters and ten grandsons and nine granddaughters by the end of this year, actually ten each for both if you count daughter Jubilee and granddaughter Annabel as we know their gender and they were born but to eternal rest.

      Delete
  34. So sorry for the loss, but congratulations on the new one! With Joy-Anna's coming and now Jinger, I just realized that Jim Bob and Michelle will now be the parents of 19 children and 19 grandchildren. The number of grandchildren will match the number of children.

  35. That is really sad news about their loss. Dugger women sure seem to have a lot of miscarriages even those who marry in to the family don't they? Hope everything goes well for them with this baby.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't think they're having more miscarriages than the normal odds and percentages. It may seem that way because this group of women have more pregnancies than most women, but if you do the math (misses versus successes), they're probably within the odds.

      Delete
    2. Miscarriages are more common than you might think. 4 of the 5 child-bearing age women in my family, including in-laws, have had them.

      Delete
    3. Most people don’t mention their miscarriages. They are just a blip, a very common blip.

      Delete
    4. 1 in every 4 women have at least one miscarriage, it’s really not uncommon

      Delete
    5. Lauren had a miscarriage, and she is not a Duggar daughter.
Though, I agree, while Michelle had quite easy pregnancies and only 2 miscarriages with 19 live children, her daughters have issues with pregnancies. Jill has 2 emergency c-sections. Jessa was bleeding after her deliveries and had to be taken to a hospital. Joy had an emergency c-section with her first baby, and then miscarried at 20 weeks.

      Delete
    6. It’s estimated that as many as 25% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage. The numbers may be higher, as they can happen very early, before a woman even knows she’s pregnant.

      Delete
    7. One in four pregnancies end in miscarriage. They aren't having a lot of miscarriages, it's just they share them with the general public

      Delete
    8. I agree. They have a lot of them! I don't think there's any need to announce them. I feel it's very poor taste and should be a private matter between the 2 parents. To glean attention for the sad passing of a little life is nothing short of a sin.

      Delete
    9. 11:39 I don't think I would go so far as to call it a sin. I think I prefer the way Jinger and Jeremy are handling this compared to Lauren and Josiah. Lauren got a little carried away with needing Josiah to carry her due to weakness when she was only a few weeks pregnant and then a cake at the baby shower for the boy they lost (they could not have known gender too early). A loss is painful for sure, happens to many many women and life goes on.

      Delete
    10. 11:12 PM: don't forget that Jinger is a 26 year old woman and Lauren was 19 at the time of her miscarriage. Also Jinger had much more siblings and has to go through more in her life, so she probably has much better life coping skills.

      Delete
    11. Anon 11:12. I agree with you. I think Lauren was so young and under such enormous pressure to have a baby from both the Duggars and her own parents that she sort of "lost it". Jinger is more mature and already had a baby so she handled things differently.

      Delete
  36. Jinger then is like Lauren last year; Lauren had a miscarriage in the Fall and then got pregnant again and had baby Bella in November!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I would say that Jinger handled things a LOT better than Lauren did. Lauren came across as quite immature with all her actions. I think the Duggars did well to pander to her whims and avoid a complete melt down. Jinger on the other hand didn't indulge in those sorts displays no matter what her private grief and disappointment may have been.

      Delete
    2. 12:45, it's not a correct comparison. We have zero idea how Jinger handled the miscarriage other than the few things they told us in their statement. Lauren was on camera a number of times talking about it, so we have a better picture of her experience and reactions.

      Delete
    3. How would we know how Jinger handled things? They weren't around family so she might have had all kinds of meltdowns for all we know.

      Delete
    4. Anon 6:07 & 9:32. I think the point is that Jinger didn't go "public" with everything. There is such a thing as "over sharing" which IMO Lauren did.

  38. Congratulations to them!!!!!!! That is terrible about their loss. I am hoping people don't resort to labeling behavior this time as they seem to in other similar Duggar cases and call this baby Rainbow because it would be a shame for it to live it's life in the shadow of the deceased sibling.

    ReplyDelete
  39. That's nice that Felicity will have a little sister, sister's bond is the best. I wonder how they will name the new baby.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. @1:51 Tell that to my sister, who did nothing but cause trouble for the entire family. There's no guarantee that any two siblings will get along.

      Delete
    2. I also have to disagree on „sister‘s bond is the best“. It can - but doesn‘t have to. My sister is and never was an easy person to get along, so there‘s (sadly) no „special bond“ between us and never was.

      Delete
    3. Have you sought counseling for your obvious resentment over your sisters behavior?

      Delete
    4. You guys who answered that sisters are not such a good thing, you never thought that it is PARENTS who install in their kids that their siblings are their best friends? My guess is that your parents just let you grow as grass not talking to you about values of sibling love.

      Delete
    5. Anon 11:13. Siblings don't always "bond". That's a fact of life. It doesn't mean you "resent" the sibling you don't bond with and need "counseling".

      Delete
    6. I have to agree that sibling/sister bonds are not guaranteed. Different personalities, different experiences even within the same family... sometimes a sister can seem like a stranger. I have stronger bonds with some of my good friends compared with one of my sisters. She and I are just not on the same wavelength about anything. Being around her makes me very uncomfortable, because she's always been a very critical and self-centered person.
@11:13- Your response is rather condescending and patronizing. Counseling with the right therapist may help deal with negative feelings, but it doesn't mean you have to have to try and have a relationship with a toxic person.

      Delete
    7. @12:03 You need to understand that some children run roughshod over their parents and siblings and cause problems no matter how well-meaning the parents are or what discipline they try. Some children take advantage of good parents and learn now to manipulate that to their own advantage. You have to see it to believe it, and I guess you've never seen it.

      Delete
    8. 12:03- There's only so much parents can do in this department. Kids are all different and you cannot force relationships between them. It's like trying to force friendships when there's no compatability. Just because you are biologically related to someone does not mean you are going to get along or want to spend time with them.

and with Mason in there as well.

    2. Now they have 8 girls (grandkids) and 9 boys. With Joy's and Jinger's girls it will be 10 and 9. It's pretty even in general. But like starting with Felicity in 2018 they were having only girls: 4 in 2019 (Ivy, Addison, Bella, Maryella, not to forget Joy's stillborn baby girl) and 3 in 2020 (Gracie, new Joy's daughter and Jinger's daughter).

  46. Pregnancy is exciting and miscarriage is tragic. Both deeply significant life moments. They can announce both or neither of these things whenever they want.

I think the notion that women are supposed to grieve their miscarriage quietly is unfair. Their is no shame in miscarriage and it’s perfectly ok to discuss it openly.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Not always pregnancy is so exciting. Imagine being very sick during the whole pregnancy. Or your pro-life beliefs contradicting your desire not to have this child.

    2. I don't think that people are "supposed" to grieve a miscarriage "quietly". That sort of over generalization is bad. People handle things differently. Some people don't want to discuss their grief and loss with everyone they encounter. Others like to talk freely. I see it as a personal choice.

  47. Why do they sell stores/pics to People or US Weekly, such worldy magazines? Not godly at all. Well actually, neither is TLC now that I think about it. Shouldn't this matter to them? 5. I think they do it for the money and to get attention. What I'm more surprised about is why Jeremy who was a Pastor and moved his congregation to a new Church and then turned around and left the Church for LA and now we only see pictures of Him plastered all over magazines and on a reality show loving the limelight. I would be devastated if my Pastor did that and instead of seeing him in our Church I heard he was "taking some classes"and now on a reality show living it up in LA because he "likes the hustle and bustle lifestyle" Good grief!!!

    6. Anon 7:33 Its a sign of the times it seems, fame, money, materialism. Jeremy always came off as a showman so what he does doesn't surprise me but if my Pastor, or Pastor Piper, or Pastor David Wilkerson etc. had done this well that would be really upsetting. There are still a lot of humble Pastors out there so I wouldn't worry too much.

    7. Jeremy went to California to attend seminary; not "take some classes". Living it up? And, Jinger always said she wanted to live in a big city....from the time she was a teenager. As a Christian, we are not called to judge.............period.

    8. 11:04AM Anon - Show me one person who picked up a tabloid magazine and thought, "Oh how refreshing to see something Christian! I think I'll convert!"
