Gracie Duggar
Grace Duggar is almost three weeks old. We are predicting that she and Aunt Jana will grow to have a special bond, as Jana is the twin sister of Gracie's daddy. In the photo above, little Grace is sleeping in Aunt Jana's arms.

Aunt Jana is probably a favorite aunt to all her nieces and nephews. At the end of the day she can give them back to their parents and send them home.Lol.

DeleteI think Jana will absolutely dote on Gracie & do so many fun things with her. I feel unless Jana has children of her own one day, Gracie will be very special to her & I can see her playing fun games with her like dress up & dolly’s, & when she grows up a little she will take her shopping & to the nail parlour to have a pamper session. Jana & John have always been so close & still are, & Abbie is also close to Jana. I bet Jana was thrilled when she became an aunt to John’s daughter. My dad had 14 siblings & there were 2 sets of twins in the mix, my dad being part of one set. He had over 80 nieces & nephews buy the one special one was his twin sisters little girl. He had such an incredible bond with my cousin & as my parents were married 18 years before I was born (a miracle baby myself), Lesley went everywhere with my parents. They took her on holidays & she lived with them all during the long summer school break. My dad adored her, & as she is 10 years older than me they had all that special time with her before they became parents themselves.

DeleteAnon 6.44. My aunt & uncle didn’t mind at all that Lesley spent so much more time with my parents than with them. They were both always busy & enjoyed a very active social life, my parents were much more family orientated & loved doing family things. My parents just loved children & like the Duggar’s thought them such a blessing. I have to say I had the best childhood imaginable, & even though I lost my mum in my 12th birthday, I had a wonderful first 12 years of life with her. My dad always said I made those 12 years the happiest my mum had ever been. I still to this day miss my parents as I had lost both of them before 20 & I’m now a lady in her early 50s.

DeleteFuzzyferet, my sympathy to you for such difficult losses, but your memories sound wonderful and you can play those tapes and smile! I enjoyed reading your family history and I feel Aunt Jana will also have a special bond with precious Gracie!

I hope Jana will stay in Gracie's life not only when she needed for babysitting. I remember how Jana was like the second mother to Meredith and then Anna was saying that Meredith was crying and missing Jana. I feel like Jana babysits a lot of grandDuggar babies and then gives them to their parents once they are older.

DeleteI completely agree! I think Jana will be close to all her nieces and Genuinely loves spending time with them. I also feel like Jana is very loving and protective over her nieces and little sisters. She’s like their guardian angel in the home 🙂❤️
DeleteThere's really no telling how much sitting she has done or with which kids, so I don't know that it's appropriate to speculate that the amount swings so far to one side as to say that she is basically the caretaker for them when they are young.
DeleteAnna and the kids lived with the Duggars when Meredith was a baby (part of the time)so when they moved out they had to get used to not being with her constantly. I doubt Jana isn't still close with the kids once they grow older.
Delete6:04, no she definitely poors a lot of time into her nieces and nephews even when they’re older. The reason she spent so much time with Meredith when she was a baby was because Anna moved in with the Duggars are Joshs cheating scandal came out and he went to “rehab”.
Delete5:29 PM: there were episodes, like Josh and Anna driving from DC to Chicago, with many stopovers, and the filming was of just them with kids, and then eventually some pictures would come on internet that actually Jana was tagged along to babysit their kids. Jana does watch Spurgeon/Henry, they were shown a lot playing in her garden.
DeleteJill kinda separated herself from the family, Jinger does not live in AR anymore, Joe's kids are being babisat by Kendra's family, but seems like Joy started bringing her kid to the Duggars more, at least the last time she mentioned Gideon was with the Duggars, and of course a picture of Jana babysitting him!
4:17. Yep, I've seen those episodes. Didn't see anything that would indicate that Jana is basically the nanny for the younger kids, as the OP was implying.

DeleteAfter her long wait, she'd better get a super amazing guy! :) I would also love to see her start a business using her talents.
Delete10:23, Jana has said many times that she wants to get married and just hasn’t found the right guy yet, which is the only reason why people continue to talk about it. Also let’s be honest, Jana getting married would probably lead to her being more “free” then her current life situation.
DeleteI guess Jana has taken care of so many kids, that she's not aiming for getting baby's of her own soon... Let her please enjoy her freedom as long as she wants!
Delete@10:36- Somehow, I can't fathom any Duggar saying that they don't want to get married and have kids, even if that were the case. I doubt the family would want that information to be made public, as it goes against their fundamentalist beliefs.

ReplyDeleteJohn is such a nicer guy since he met and married Abbie! I really like him now and his family. Before I thought his views were harsh. I really think Abbie has brought out the best in John!
ReplyDeleteBaby Gracie is so ridiculously cute!!! Aunt Jana and her will be close for sure! Thinking about the twin thing, Jana shares genetics with Gracie, too, kind of like Gracue is partially Jana's child/genetics, too, and that is neat stuff!
