    1. Yay for bows! I'm sure Kendra is excited to have a girl in addition to her boy.

    2. Like on most girls... So what?

    3. Isn’t it cute!?

    4. It was a modest bow....I don't like the gigantic ones, this one was small and sweet.

  7. Next year, she will have another one when Addison is a year old, just like her mom.

    2. That would be sweet! I love having siblings so close in age

    3. Maybe next Christmas. It's nice to have kids close in age, they become good friends.

  12. Congrats! They seem to love double letters: GaRReTT, ADDison RenEE. I really like the name, seems like they don't have any name theme though.

    1. They name their children starting with the same first letters as Joy and Austin. That's my observation anyway.

      Delete
    2. I'm glad they don't have a name theme.....I never understood why people make a game out of what they name their children....once you start you can't stop or you might slight a child. I like the names they've chosen.

      Delete
    3. A theme is not the same thing as a game.

      Delete
    4. I don't think it's a game. They have several children and want each child's name be a testament to something. Like Lauren's parents have a theme that all girls names start with the letter L (first letter of their mother's name, Lana), and all boys names start with D (from Dwayne, their father).

      Delete
    5. 7:44 I think I get what the commenter was saying, if you are just picking names with the same letter or some other theme are you considering the child as an individual or just another m or j.

    6. The spelling of the name is Renée, not Renee. I wish that, when people use names not of their own culture, they at least spell the name correctly. Renée is French. The accent is important. The name, like the male version René, is pronounced ending with a long A sound. The send e is Renée is silent.

      Delete
    7. 10:10, the spelling of Renee has been americanized.

  16. Congratulations on the birth of Addison Renee! She has a beautiful name. So now there are four Duggars with the middle name Renee: Anna Renee, Mackynsie Renee, Kendra Renee and Addison Renee. Who is nextto give birth? Anna, Lauren and Abbie are expecting. I don't usually do this because there are so many names to choose from, but some names stuck out for their three girls. I was thinking for Anna, it might be Mary Suzette, for Grandma Duggar and the M theme and Suzette for Anna's mom. I thought maybe Bailey Milagro for Laurne's daughter. Since they named their first Asa, I thought maybe the second might begin with a B and continue the alphabet. Milagro is Lauren's middle name and seems appropriate for a rainbow baby. For Abbie's girl I thought maybe Amelia Johannah. Amelia was suggested by another poster and fits their love of flying. Johannah is the feminine of John, after John-David and also Abbie's father. On a sad note, it is interesting that Kendra and Joy-Anna's boys have names beginning with G - Gideon and Garrett and their girls have names beginning with A - Annabell and Addison. Sad that Annabell and Addison won't be able to grow up together. The next three Duggar girls with possible pregnancies are Jinger, Jill and Joy-Anna. I think it will likely be Jinger. By the time a second baby arrives she will be well adjusted to California. Jill maybe after that. Joy-Anna still has a lot of healing. I hope Jana is the next courtship and any of the three boys: Jed, Jer or Jason could follow closely. Jed seems to be coming into his own with his political candidacy and growing business.

    1. Anon 6.38. I don’t see Jill having a baby anytime soon, in fact I don’t see Jill having anymore.

    2. Sad Annabelle, Asa and Addison won't be able to grow up together... Lauren first was an A name too.

    3. Fuzzyferet, Jill said that she and Derick plan to have more biological children in the future not to long ago, so I personally would guess that they’ll start trying again within the next year.

      Delete
    4. I thought Amelia Jo for abbies baby and love the idea for Anna's baby thought of Mary-Anne. For Laurens Atummn Lydia or Violet Jean as being a rainbow baby. I am sure the names have picked out already but nice what people are coming up with

    5. I believe Michelle's middle name is Renee too.

      Delete
    6. Oops I was wrong, its Annette.

    7. Thanks 8:00PM. The names do all begin with A. I missed it. I was thinking the Joy and Kendra's boys names begin with G and the girls names begin with A. Asa was the first for Josiah and Lauren. There was no big brother and I missed it.

    8. 5:42, Anna already has a daughter named Meredith, Mary is too similar of a name, especially since some of the Duggar grandchildren call her Merri, ie, Spurgeon saying “Merri is a bad girl” lol

    9. Just saw the announcement for Josiah and Lauren’s baby and I immediately thought of this comment- you were right!

  41. Addison sounds like the girl is called Add a Son. Which is weird.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Haha, I never would have thought of that. I'm not big on using last names as first names, especially for girls.

      Delete
    2. You've never heard the name Addison before? The name has been quite popular for girls for several years now.

      Delete
    3. Addison's meaning (the name) is "Adam's son". Eventually it became more popular among girls. Those "son" names are very popular among girls: Madison, Emerson.

      Delete
    4. You’re pronouncing it wrong, it is Add “i” son, with an I like “igloo”.

    5. Addison is a lovely name and is also my daughter name its simple and classy and fit well with big brothers names Niklas and Bradley had Addie been a boy she would been named Garrett after my dad who died 3 months ago of cancer

  48. Kendra and Joe should smack Garrett's hands out of his mouth. It is so unsanitary. It doesn't have to be a hard smack, just a light one. My mother did that to me and I learned very quickly not to put my hands near my face. Sometimes physical discipline works best.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. @8:59 Your mother was wrong. It is a natural thing for a child that young to put his fingers in their mouth. There are other ways to guide your children without resorting to smacking them. I've raised two kids of my own and was a public school teacher for 35 years. Not once did I ever use physical discipline.

    2. Maybe they were smiling at the camera and not looking at Garrett.

  49. Congratulations Kendra and Joe! Addison is just beautiful!
