'Who's the Most Romantic' Recap

Counting On "Who's the Most Romantic?"

  • Four of the married couples arrive at Jim Bob and Michelle’s house. Jessa is about halfway through her pregnancy with Ivy. Garrett is eight months old. John and Abbie are enjoying being newlyweds. Josiah and Lauren are still grieving the loss of their first child. “Through this past year we’ve faced some pretty hard times,” says Lauren. “We miscarried. It was definitely heartbreaking and still something I cry about every day.”
  • “We feel like it’s really important for couples to have a date night,” says Michelle. She and Jim Bob are going to watch the grandchildren while the four couples go out on dates, with a little bit of competition mixed in. Who can come up with the most romantic evening out? Each couple can only spend $60 and must stay within one hour of the Duggar home. They will take photos and videos and return after four hours.
  • “I don’t remember the last time we had five in diapers at once here,” says Jim Bob. “We’ll have to get an assembly line going.”
  • Joe and Kendra head out on a penny flipping date. At each major intersection, they flip a coin. Heads means go right, tails means go left. “…That’s kind of like life,” says Kendra. “You can’t really plan your future. So it’s good to just enjoy each moment and to have the right attitude all the time, no matter where you end up.” On their last flip, they end up at a gazebo, where they stop for a picnic.
  • Jessa and Ben spend their date at the KYYA chocolate factory. “We love one another, and we both love chocolate,” says Ben. Then they take a walk outside and sit down by a lake to enjoy the chocolates they made.
  • Josiah and Lauren head to Fort Rock Family Camp, owned by Austin’s family, to ride horses. Horseback riding is something that Lauren grew up doing and that Josiah enjoys, as well.
  • John and Abbie take to the skies for their date. “We play to win,” says Abbie. They stop at a lake to grill steak.
  • “Most of us didn’t really see the romantic side of John, so it kind of has surprised all of us, I think,” says Jana. “I think [Abbie] brought out the best in him.”
  • While the couples are on their dates, they also go through discussion questions that Jim Bob and Michelle gave them to help them grow closer together. The questions spark conversation on topics like finances and romantic gestures.
  • “[Abbie] worked a normal 8-5 job,” say John. “As most of us Duggars do, we are self-employed, so we’re going to go out, and we may tap ourselves out investing in something to get a return on that. So that’s a completely different perspective for her, versus just getting a paycheck every week.” Abbie says they have had a lot of conversation about finances but that she trusts John’s judgement because he has made many wise investments.
  • Back at the Duggar house, Jim Bob is out in the yard running around with some of his kids and older grandkids, while Michelle has the little grandchildren in the house. “My goal when Michelle and I are babysitting the grandkids is to be the fun grandpa,” says Jim Bob.
  • Meredith bites Spurgeon, and Spurgeon bites her back. Spurgeon calls Meredith a bad girl, and both of them end up in tears. Jim Bob explains why biting isn’t allowed and then tells both toddlers that he is going to tell their parents what happened.
  • Jeremy is in Los Angeles for a conference and picks Jinger and Felicity up at the airport when they arrive. The Vuolos are preparing for their move to LA. “I’m really excited about the decision to move to LA,” says Jinger. “I’ve always thought it would be neat to live in a big city. I love hustle and bustle.”
  • “Jinger’s always loved big city,” says Jessa. “Any time we would take a family road trip and end up in Chicago or New York, she was always like, ‘This is awesome. I would love to live here one day.’ And all the rest of us were like, ‘No, I want to go back to the country.’”
  • While the other Duggars love the country, Ben admits that he wouldn’t mind living in a big city.
  • “[Felicity] is going to be a Cali girl,” says Jeremy. But life in LA is going to be an adjustment, especially considering the traffic and high cost of living. “…There will be some culture shock, but I’m ready for it,” says Jinger.
  • After the couples return, Jim Bob and Michelle watch the footage of the dates and announce the winners:
    • Most romantic date: Joe and Kendra
    • Thriftiest date: Josiah and Lauren
    • Date we’d go on: Jessa and Ben
    • Most original date: John-David and Abbie

  1. This was Clearly staged for the show, however I’m glad we got to know the couples more. Interesting that they has Josh and Anna’s kids but don’t really mention them. It was nice to see the cousins interact.
Crazy to think that each of those couples will have another kid in a few months!!

  2. That was a fun episode. It was nice to see Jim Bob and Michelle on there, and it was interesting to hear the couples discuss their relationships.

    2. Personally, I'm just glad they're back. Comparing the Duggars to the Bates is like comparing apples and oranges. The Duggars show more of the grandchildren which I love. The Bates are more and more about Kelly's opinions, wishes and wants.

    3. Also Carlin's opinions, wishes and wants.

    4. You know there's a whole Bates blog just like this one, if you prefer that family.

  5. John and Abbie going in (one of) John’s plane(s) is about as un-original as it can get at this point. It’s their only interest, hobby, engagement theme, wedding theme, photo shoot theme, and otherwise defining characteristic.

    1. Exactly what I was thinking! I’m tired of the plane thing already. I just really hope Abbie actually likes the whole plane thing, and she isn’t just going along with it because “John likes it, so I like it”.

      Delete
    2. I can't believe they won the "most original" prize!

      Delete
    3. It was exciting and romantic to be courted by and marry a young man who flew around in his own airplane. Somehow I don't think Abbie realized that flying around was John's ONLY interest and hobby. Now she's got to go along with it. Personally I consider John extremely boring.

      Delete
    4. The news had a story recently about a near-calamity in a single engine plane. I can't imagine going along with my husband flying all the time in little planes like that. It's like Ok'ing riding a motorcycle, except 10,000 feet in the air. At some point, family and safety need to become more important than flying.

    5. Anon @ 1:58 PM - Fortunately John David is married already and not with you, so you can find for yourself someone who you consider fun.

    6. I am so sick of hearing about John and planes too. I wondering if John will force his kids to be interested in aviation. He will probably make Abby give birth on a plane in mid-air!

      Delete
    7. I think there are some very unkind comments about John and Abby as well. For the brief time "we" have known Abby, she appears to like flying. Remember her wedding vows, "I will fly where you fly"? It's unfair to say that he would not put his family and safety above flying. John has always been a hard-working guy. I am always interested in hearing about the siblings and now their children. Glad you're back, Duggars!

      Delete
    8. Why do you care? John David can have any interests that he wants. I love seeing him with Abby. They are so in love and sweet.

    2. I mean this was obviously set up for the show to be more interesting, all the couples go on normal dates too, but how interesting would that be to watch.

      Delete
    3. I thought I heard JB and Michelle say they were helping them with communication?

      Delete
    4. It’s hard to believe Jim Bob and Michelle feel a need to help their adult children communicate. I think by the time your children are grown, married, and parents themselves, it’s time to stop interfering in their lives. If a couple seeks parental advice, that’s one thing. But to give unsolicited advice is another. They’ve made it this far so they must be communicating just fine. My guess is that tlc Played a major part in the set up of this event.

    3. I think he was talking about Felicity, Gideon, Henry, Garrett and Mason in general, being in diapers, not which babies were there that day.

      Delete
    4. Gideon was not there. Garrett was in diapers. Henry was only 2 years then, and Mason was about 18 months. I think Spurgeon was in diapers and most probably Meredith. Though Meredith was like 3.5 at the time of filming.

  13. We can’t forget that in Jinger’s youth, she said she wanted to move to a big city — and Michelle shut her down immediately. She tried to explain what her daughter really meant — according to Michelle, her daughter just wants to live “15 minutes from a Wal-mart.” “Jinger didn’t mean she wanted to move to New York City,” Michelle said. “She meant that she wants to live closer to a city. We’re talking right near a city, but not New York City.”

  14. So if the older grandkids were there, Anna's kids, were they on a date also? So does Jill and her kids just not visit at all?

    1. The Dillards are no longer a part of the show, as per their wishes. Josh's family isn't filmed either.

      Delete
    2. It's not only being off the show. Jill and Derick haven't been pictured at the big house in quite awhile.

      Delete
    3. What's the difference if Josh and Anna were on a date too? They have 5 grandkids out of 12 the Duggars had then. Joy was not filming at that time, Jinger lives in TX, Jill does not participate in the show. So if grandparents were watching the kids of only couples on a date, there would be just 3 kids - two Jessa's and little Garrett. The point was to see how grandparents can handle more than just 3.

      Delete
    4. Josh's children are filmed, they were on the episode. We just don't see him and Anna is once in a blue moon. I miss Jill and the boys.

    1. 😂😂😂😂 for real. Austin and Josiah are both pilots and I don’t see them base every thing in their life’s around that fact

      Delete
    2. Ha! That is a funny observation!

      Delete
    3. I guess there’s an old joke, how can you tell who’s a pilot out of a crowd of people? Don’t worry, they’ll tell you. Lol

      Delete
    4. That is very unfair to Abbie. I have a friend who is a pilot and he married a nice girl who had never been in a small plane. She loved it so much that she completed the license, too, and they spent 20 years flying together for holidays. How do you know that it is not Abbie who loves being in a plane the most?

      Delete
    5. Anon 10:17. Exactly. I thought Josiah and Lauren were the most romantic because he ensured they did something he knew she would enjoy.

      Delete
    6. I agree, 8:48. Josiah’s choice was special and significant to Lauren. I love all the Duggar’s, but as a loyal fan and viewer, I am really, really over the whole plane theme with John David and Abbie. They are lovely people. I just feel faithful fans have a right to say what they would like to see or not to see on the show, even though our opinions differ.

      Delete
    7. I don't think they should have to cater their interests to match what the audience thinks their interests should be.

      Delete
  17. Why did Joy and Austin not want to join in on the Romantic Date night? Maybe Joy was feeling morning sickness and just wanted to stay home? Not sure when it was filmed, maybe March?

    1. Perhaps they didn't want to be told how much to spend on their night out, provide videos of it and receive a questionnaire afterwards.

    2. If i were them, i wouldn't want to do it. 😂

      Delete
    3. They were in Colorado elk hunting. Please don't start speculating about another pregnancy. Joy was most likely advised to wait six months to a year for another pregnancy considering how far along she was. I would have some fear about another pregnancy I'm sure she will have lots of emotions.

      Delete
    4. It says here Jessa was halfway through her pregnancy. Ivy was born in late May so 4-5 months before would have been January. If this was in January the other ladies (Kendra, Anna, Joy, and Lauren) would not have even been pregnant yet.

      Delete
    5. 11:23AM: This episode was probably filmed in February, Jessa was still pregnant with Ivy. Joy and Austin were elk hunting in Colorado this month, October. You're getting confused with the timelines

      Delete
    6. 11:23 LOL my goodness this episode was not filmed last week! Joy was elk hunting last week and the episode was filmed several months ago.

      Delete
    7. If Joy was pregnant at that time, Kendra and Lauren were pregnant too, but they participated. Maybe producers had time only for 4 couples, and they wanted introduce John&Abbie and also show Josiah&Lauren more.

  18. I wish I could see more of Jim Bob and Michelle interacting with their grandchildren. The romantic contest was boring, they did the same things when they were on honeymoon: eating, kissing… I prefer watching them in their life, jobs, home…

    1. Think of it more of a performance, rather than anything real-life. If they did film them in their every day routines, you still wouldn't get an accurate picture. Having a camera on you changes the dynamics completely. You're never truly just yourself.

      Delete
    2. 7:02, good observation. I wish the term “reality t.v.” would be retired. Very little of what is shown on any reality show is reality. Staged events such as this date night are insulting to the viewers intelligence, IMHO. I would much rather see Jana being creative and the young mothers dealing with the challenges of raising multiple children. As it is the Duggars are untrained actors on a t.v. show. That’s it. TLC is no longer even trying to show the family in a good light.

      Delete
    3. I agree. Mostly it was the younger kids who were watching the grandkids.

      Delete
    4. They let you see what they want you to see.

  19. I'm glad that the show is on for another season but am perplexed as to why they do "filler" material like this episode rather than showing what has occurred since the last season. The shows are so far behind on their actual lives, and there is no need to create some dating game to fill the air time--just show real life events and catch up! How about highlighting the 8 grandchildren so we can get to know them and their personalities? How about showing each of the couples interacting in their own homes in their actual lives? Please skip the "what flavor" nonsense which is meaningless and tells us nothing about who they really are (except that some can't spell, I guess). I am peppermint, by the way-- and now you know all about me!

    1. TLC has to have some kind of pre-arranged game plan to film. Just going into someone's home with the hopes of getting usable "every day" footage would take a lot of time and expense. It may be called a reality show, but it's not on many levels.

      Delete
    2. I agree. There are soooooo many people in that family. There’s gotta be plenty of real and normal life events going on

      Delete
    3. Exactly. Why not gather at one of their own homes instead of back at the parent's house? I want to see the couples become more independent and create their own lives.

      Delete
    4. Has it occurred to you that the Duggars are filming exactly what they want viewers to see? Maybe they don’t want the public to see anything more. If ratings drop, the show might be canceled. Oh, well... that’s the TV game for you.

      Delete
    5. It was the first show of the season. I'm sure they will talk about grandkids when the season goes on. It's actually 13 grandkids now, not 8. They did not even get to talk about their younger kids personalities yet. I'm sure they will.

    6. I don't care I love the Duggars the whole family and will watch and lovw whatever is on

  20. Jim Bob and Michelle assigned the couples discussion questions? Good grief. It's time for the micro-managing of these grown children to end. If they aren't able to carry on a conversation with their spouses without help from Mom and Dad, things aren't so wonderful in this family.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That was obviously just for the show so the viewers can get to learn more about the couples.

      Delete
    2. I found that odd too. My relationship is different from my parents relationship so I can’t imagine them coming up questions to ask my significant other or me filming one of our dates for them to watch.

      Delete
    3. I think it was a great idea to help to get to know their spouses better. I am sure that was the only intent!

      Delete
    4. Maybe the show's producer decided to do the discussion questions and video/contest. Much of these shows are scripted by people other than the families.

      Delete
    5. As a grown woman with a husband and children, I would use my own communication/discussion skills to tell my parents or in-laws,”Thank you, but no thank you,” if they gave me a questionnaire.

      Delete
  21. This is creepy! Jim Bob and Michelle need to let the adult kids have their own lives. It's nice that they babysat so the couples could have a date night but giving them a questionnaire and watching videos of the dates is wrong. Let them have privacy. If they ask for advice , give it. If not, let them make mistakes and learn from it.

  26. Watching the episode I keep wondering what Josh and Anna kids think about their parents not playing the dating game. I mean their daughter is 10 and she must ask questions of why there father is never filmed. Just seemed like a strange game to have when you can not include the parents but the kids are there.

    3. Josh and anna probably did play the game, they just didnt show them

    4. Perhaps Josh and Anna did a date like the others it was just not shown on the show. I'm sure they have explained appropriately what needs to be explained.

    5. She'll soon be old enough to know about her father's unsavoury past, if not already. Let her be ashamed of him in private, not on the air.

    6. How do you know they were not included? Not being filmed does not mean they were not included.

Why would you think that the daughter cares if her father is never filmed? I am sure that she has been told, to the level she can understand, that her parents are no longer participating in the show.

    7. They probably were included in the game itself just not filmed. They seem to be involved in the family activities

    8. Questions should be asked not only of Josh and Anna's kids, but also about Jill's boys. We did not see Israel and Samuel. Did Derek and Jill go on a date and were just not filmed? Again, if they did, Israel and Sam were not at the big house or not filmed.

    1. Me too, Jim Bob and Michelle were uncomfortable, they came off as very fake, ruined the whole episode. I though Counting On, was going to focus on the married couples, and their lives and growing families. Also Josh and Anna's children should not be on any episodes.

    2. If my parents sent me and my husband off somewhere and told us to answer relationship questions, I'd contact my parents' doctor to schedule a check-up for them.

  28. Not my favourite episode, the couples need to go on their own dates. The questions Jim Bob and Michelle had them answer were not necessary and kind of boring. None of the dates were romantic, in my opinion, they were too scripted. Hope they focus more on the lives of these married couples, I thought that was what Counting On was supposed to be about. Jim Bob and Michelle had their time in the spotlight, they should enjoy their lives, away from the cameras.

    1. I agree with you, Jim Bob and Michelle, should not be on any episodes, the show needs to focus on the married couples and their lives. Josh, Anna and their children also should not be on any episodes, it was very awkward having Josh and Anna's kids there. Hope Counting On continues with just the married couples.

      Delete
    2. It was not awkward at all! Jim Bob and Michelle are very kind, loving people. I enjoy seeing them and Josh and Anna's kids. Josh made some bad decisions years ago. He did not commit murder or a number of other evil things. He doesn't have to pay for his sins for the rest of his life. He missed months with his family and had a lot of counseling. Hopefully he has straighted his life out, but regardless people don't need to bring up that he sinned every time his name is mentioned. There isn't a human alive that hasn't sinned. Can you imagine every time some one mentions your name, that they list everything you have done wrong in your life? Let it go!!!!!

      Delete
  29. Having Josh and Anna's children on the episode was awkward. The premise was to babysit the grandkids so the parents could go on dates. Given the situation I don't think they should have been on the episode. Counting On should focus on the married couples, even Jim Bob and Michelle should not be featured. It's time for them to let their adult children, live lives of their own.

    1. It was probably to show most of the grandkids on TV. It was really nice to see Michelle and JimBob navigating through kids biting and screaming. I'm very glad they are back on TV!

      Delete
    2. Originally him bob and Michelle were off the new show, counting on, as was josh. Bringing Josh and Anna kids back on may be an attempt to get Josh back on the show in time. This is not okay.

      Delete
    3. Hey, for some or most of us, living your adult, married life still does involve your parents! And thank God for that, at least in my case.

      Delete
    4. How was it awkward? Not at all, in my opinion.

      Delete
  30. This isn't reality. I can't imagine any married couple letting their parents tell them how much to spend on a night out, providing videos and filling out a questionnaire afterwards. Obviously just a contrived episode for TLC.

    ReplyDelete
  31. This was so fun!! I loved how Spurgeon was like "She is a bad girl!!", about Meredith who bit him. Sneaky little Meredith, bit her cousin Spurgeon! :)

  32. Enjoyed the episode but really want them to show some real life things like their jobs and work projects. I enjoyed seeing the couple's interact but want to see more day to day stuff like the show outdaughtered does. With so many people there would be things to cover without contrived events for the show. Next week they are going on some marriage retry? I don't have problem with the Duggars going on a retreat but just want more from the show. Please producer's, I don't care what flavor of chocolate they would be!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't think it's just the producers making all the content decisions. The Duggars must have some say in things. Maybe they don't want you to see anything "real", but prefer the staged epidsodes.

  33. I may be in the minority here, but I am so glad to see Jim Bob and Michelle back on more. They should not have to be penalized and banned forever. Personally, I'm inspired by their wisdom and values. I like them myself. I know the Josh thing brought in heavy criticism, but EVERYBODY deserves a second chance, including Jim Bob and Michelle. Josh did wrong but why make his parents continually pay for his indiscretions?

    1. No parent is responsible for the decisions that their child/ren make. Children have to decide for themselves to honor the Lord or not. I know a lot of families where one child has gone off and not lived the way they were raised. All of the other children are honoring God. How is that the fault of the parents? All of the kids were raised in the same house. God gave us all free will. Let's quit judging parents by their kids and kids by their parents. Everyone will stand at the judgment seat of Christ by themselves.

  34. Yet another event that the duggars have done that they did only for tv.

  35. We need more of Jinger, Jeremy and beautiful little Felicity who has such an adorable personality!!!! They are much more interesting and love how they explore new places, food!! As a young Christian couple.... they should be couples goals for other young Christian couples😍... They need their show...Really💕💕

    1. I am curious to know what goals you are referring to? I ask simply because I don't think you can get a very accurate picture of someone based on what you see on a staged TV show. They may very well be a wonderful couple, but unless you know them personally, I think it's best to look for good examples that are already around you.

  36. Don't the Duggars realize by now that TLC is using them and making fun of them with these silly questions and silly forced scenarios (date night)? It seems as if making money trumps keeping your privacy and control over your own life, though. Hard to look up to that as a role model any more. It's time to turn the cameras off and get back to their regularly scheduled lives.

    1. It appears to me that the family is so over it. Whatever energy or enthusiasm they may have had for the show at one time has evaporated, IMO. I agree- if motivation in is gone and quality no longer a priority, they should retire and just live their lives. Every show has an ending point. They should've quit while they were ahead.

    2. To use a TV industry term, this show jumped the shark long ago.

    3. TLC is going to introduce a new large family on another show in November.

    4. I must be from another planet; I never heard the phrase, jumped the shark. Please explain. Please, please, please stop watching the shows just to tear them apart. There are many, especially me, who look forward to watching the grown "kids" with their kids. Welcome back Duggars!!!!!

  39. That was so fun to watch. I realized I missed watching the Duggars. Thanks for brightening my day.

  40. I can't stop thinking how differently the older Duggar girls grew up from the younger Duggar girls. The older girls (Jana, Jill, Jessa, Jill, Joy), they lived in a small house and every year had a new sibling coming into their live and grow with them. Their mom was homeschooling them herself.
The younger girls (Johannah, Jennie, Jordyn and Josie) have totally different childhood. They have a lkot of older siblings, and several older brothers living with them. They are the youngest, no more siblings, they just grow and can sort of know the path they can take. looking at older sisters. They also have parents very close and focusing on them only. But also they have much larger community, their parents travel and give speeches, they have a lot of people visiting. They have tons of little nieces and nephews whom they can babysit, but it's not siblings.

Like Jessa was the first Duggar girl to date, she was like paving the way for other sisters... and now Johannah has 4 older sisters married, she knows how it can work.

But also I think for younger girls it was a transition when the older sisters were getting married because they were their "buddies" and now they have just mom. All older sisters had their mom , they did not have another mother figure.

  41. Coming from a broken family, whose parents obviously did not have date nights, I enjoy hearing ideas and the right stuff that should be going on in marriage. I appreciate the date night episode and looking at it from my side of the tracks, the Duggars wisdom on marriage/family is very valuable to me. People like me need this information. So, I disagree and any poking fun is poking fun at me too, I guess. I could care less though. Michelle needs to write a book. I'd be one of the first ones to purchase it.

    1. Michelle has written a book. It's called ' A Love that Multiplies' The older girls have also written a book. You can get all the information on Michelle's website.

    1. Well it is an escape from the real world. I can't imagine Grandma Duggar handing JB and Michelle a questionnaire to "discuss". It's so far fetched I've given up watching it.

  43. I liked seeing the grandkids be naughty. Michelle/Jim Bob made it seem like kids are always good, that part showed realism. Also i would've voted Josiah/Lauren date as Most Romantic, although i did like Joe/Kendra idea of flipping the quarter. And true about John, he always seemed the slightly awkward, dependable and kind of J.B. Junior guy not showing of emotions til Abbie came

    1. No, JB and Michelle did not make it seem like their kids were perfect. Go watch the old episodes and you'll see their kids being crazy, being corrected by parents or older siblings, etc.

      Delete
    2. “We never said we’re perfect” - that is the Duggars’ claim. Yet, they tell people they have the perfect belief system, the perfect religion, the perfect philosophy for raising children, the perfect godly attire, etc. Which - yes - is the same thing as claiming to be superior.

      Delete
    3. Um, they still never claimed they were perfect. They found what works for them and shared it with others.

    4. Anon 12:42. Exactly. And I also think that JB and Michelle are way too involved in their adult children's daily lives. I can see why Austin, Derrick and Jeremy have decided to live away from the "family compound" and not work for JB.

    5. 11:36 Offering their time to babysit and possibly money for their adult children to go on dates is not being too involved. With all these young couples, dating can be expensive especially when you have to pay a babysitter. It is easy when the kids are young to focus on them and not the marriage. I think it is good that their parents remind them to keep their relationships strong. They know how difficult that is in the midst of raising children. Also giving them some things to think about and talk about can be helpful. When the kids are little it is easy to just talk about them all of the time.

Honestly, how involved can they be in their lives when they are still raising several children? Seeing them on film for a few minutes doesn't demonstrate that they are overly involved.

  45. To me it's interesting to see the four couples contrasted. Jessa and Ben clearly recognize the impact of children on the relationship (and how they didn't have very long to grow as a couple before children). Same for Joe and Kendra to be honest. They look really tired and strained - although I think they are just more shy in general too. Josiah and Lauren seem to have a genuine connection and are prioritizing being a couple through good times and bad. John is a little too in love with his plane for my taste - I hope Abbie doesn't mind.

  46. I am so happy the Duggars are back! I missed them! It was great to see Jim Bob and Michelle. John David and Abbie are so funny! I love their humor! I wish I could meet them someday!

  47. I wonder what JB and Michelle would have done if Grandma Duggar had given them "discussion" questions and wanted photos of their night out when she babysat for them.

  48. I am sad to say that I am no longer a fan of the show. I did like watching '19 kids and counting' and the first few seasons of 'Counting On' when Jill and Derrick were regulars (Please, no comments here. I know why Derrick is no longer on the show), but the new 'Counting On' has just strayed too far from the original programming that it is no longer of any interest to me.

If TLC wants to bring back ratings ( or at least gain my viewership again), they need to bring back the original format of the show and re-style the episodes to display more of the Duggars' values and who they are. They need more episodes like the originals- homeschooling, field trips, courting, missions, ect. all of those episodes that show traditional, Christ-like values. That's why viewers initially tuned in to watch this unusual family who marched to their own drum, and who made family and Christ the center of their lives.

That's what I want to see again.

    1. I never watched them because they were Christ followers. I watched simply for curiosity’s sake and the fact that they had so many kids.

    2. This not the 19 Kids (Duggar’s) this is Counting On... with the adult kids marrying and now it’s their families and their family values ... not the parents... I personally like the new version! Jinger and Jeremy are the most interesting and little Felicity is so adorable 😀

    3. I think the show clearly reflects the Duggars values and who they are. It may not interest you to watch their show and if that's true then don't. I think the show is pretty trivial so I don't watch it.

  49. I sure hope Jeremy has learned by now that it's illegal to use a hand-held phone while driving in CA. He was caught on camera doing exactly that in last week's episode.
