ReplyDeleteJim Bob has been such a wonderful father - brought up 19 children, everyone is taken care of and happy. He provided for them all, he took them on so many trips, showed them the world. Eight of his kids are now married, and all of them got wonderful spouses. For each of then Jim Bob had wonderful weddings, and each of them was helped to settle in life. Now they are growing their own families. Other kids are still living at home, but there is no doubt they are so well cared for, provided by a wonderful loving community, and will do well in life as well!

ReplyDeleteYesterday may have been Fathers' Day but I think it was not appropriate to 'wish Jim Bob a Happy Fathers' Day" while his mother lay not even buried yet. During these days, there are no celebrations out of respect for someone's passing. Please rethink the timing of future headers.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with you. The family had a tragedy, but they should not go into "suspended animation". Life does go on and continuing with family celebrations helps in the healing process.

DeleteIt isn’t disrespectful to wish someone a happy Father’s Day even if they lost a parent recently. They are sad to no longer see their mother/grandmother, but they are not in despair. Grandmother Duggar had asked Jesus to save her. They know they will see her again in Heaven one day. Christians sorrow but not as those who have no hope.

DeleteI would think losing his mom would make them MORE appreciative of the dads who are still with them and that they would want to express that while they are together as a family. Being constantly sad isn't going to help the loved one who is dead.

ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with wishing him a happy father's day? Grandma Mary is in a better place than we are cause she's in heaven celebrating being with Jesus and loved ones. My mother died a year ago, and I miss her a lot, but she was wanting to go. All she talked about was seeing Jesus. She had been sick a long time. It's really comforting to know my mother was a Christian as Grandma Mary was.
ReplyDeleteGrandma Mary was not sick a long time. Her passing was sudden, unexpected, and traumatic. A shock to everyone. You'd think that would call for some private and low-key Father's Day observances this year, for once.
DeleteI think it was nice that Jim Bob was wished happy Father’s Day. Things need to go on & no one is being disrespectful by wishing JB a special day. It will do him good emotionally to have had a nice day with his children & grandchildren & im sure there wasn’t a minute that passed that he wasn’t still remembering his mother. I know that it won’t just have been this Father’s Day that would be poignant for JB, every birthday, Christmas, Easter, wedding, & birth will all be tinged with the sadness of his mum not being with him to celebrate too. The first time you smile after the loss of a loved one you feel guilt for feeling someone has made you happy enough to smile, but our loved ones would want us to be happy & im sure Grandma Mary would have wanted her son celebrating his special day, let’s face it not many men are dad to 19 children, that’s something in my mind for JB to absolutely smile about.

DeleteI love this family. Jim Bob and Michelle have done a great job raising them. All of the children are well manadored. The ones with children of their own are doing a great job. I just love Jenger and Jerremy.I love all them. Just something about Jenger makes you love her. Please keep this show running can't wait until next season. Love to them all
