I love seeing them do things like this. My family makes it a point to visit Washington DC every year and we also try and stay informed of the issues of our Country. It really is very important.

ReplyDeleteI think Michelle must have very painful feet, maybe fallen arches, because she always has orthopedic-looking footwear.
ReplyDeleteShe's even worn shoes like that to her kids' weddings. I'm sure she would not wear shoes like that unless she had to.
DeleteIt's a good idea to wear a comfortable walking shoe when you're going to be visiting DC. Michelle's shoes look like those things my grandmother used to wear. Maybe she has foot problems because of all her pregnancies.
DeleteAnon 12:56. If Michelle has worn that type shoe to the family weddings, you know she has foot problems. I don't wear high heels because I find them very uncomfortable, but there are a lot of nice dressy shoes with a lower heel available.
DeleteMichelle also wore those shoes with black hose while on the beach. I recall hearing that she has back problems, which is understandable after so many pregnancies!
DeleteYes, I noticed it too. Michelle had so many pregnancies, and usually a pregnancy can give this effect, because of the extra weight a woman has to carry. Usually it effects knees and feet, arches, feet balls, ankles. And if she had to catch up with small running kids while she was pregnant, of course that could affect her feet. I always was amazed how after so many pregnancies Michelle had really no health issues. Many women even after one pregnancy get issues with kidneys, vision, other health issues. It's not even about labor/delivery. Pregnancy is what's stressing a woman's body the most.
DeleteAnon @ 4.04 We do not know if Michelle has any health issues after all her pregnancies, she probably keeps them private. So many pregnancies so close together can have a devastating effect on your bones through calcium depletion so she would be at risk of osteoporosis. Also with so many pregnancies and her age gynae problems are also highly likely, including prolapse. I don't think she would make any health problems public for privacy reasons and because I don't think she would want to draw any negative attention to the side effects of all those pregnancies.

DeleteHaving one pregnancy took a horrible toll on my feet. Can't imagine what having 21 pregnancies have done to Michelle's.

DeleteThere was no mention of the White House. I think they met the elected members of Congress from Arkansas.
DeleteGenerally you just meet with the congressmen and senators in their offices or meeting rooms. The White House is not included as part of the Capitol Connection. I was privileged to attend one of the first meetings and some of my family attended this year.
DeleteI don't think they went to the White House. They were meeting with members of Congress at the Capitol building or at the Congressional Office complex.

Over the years, I have noticed, sadly, that Michelle's shoes, although not stylish or pretty, have always been new, shiny and fit correctly. Why didn't she offer her children the same? After all, they had sensitive, growing feet and should have worn new shoes that fit right too. Is there a problem with her feet that she requires certain 'medical' shoes? The ones she wears usually look awful. That's why I'm asking.
ReplyDeleteSince she apparently needs orthopedic shoes she would have to buy them new. They don't have specially fitted shoes at the thrift stores where they were getting shoes for the rest of the family.
DeleteIf someone has been pregnant with 19 children, it stands to reason that she just might have foot problems.
DeleteI believe she does need the medical ones which is why she always wears them.
DeletePregnancy takes a toll on your feet, and she's been pregnant 20 times.
DeleteMichelle has been pregnant 21 times, they lost a baby early on before they had a show. They blamed the miscarriage on the pill, and stopped using birth control after that.
DeleteShe had two sets of twins (John and Jana plus Jed and Jer) so even including the miscarriages she has only been pregnant 19 times.
DeleteJordyn and Josie are less than a year apart, but such a difference in height! Josie is very small for her age.
