Duggar Ladies in Atlanta

Jana Duggar, Jinger Vuolo, Felicity Vuolo
Jana Duggar, Jinger Vuolo, and Felicity Vuolo
with Laura and another friend of the Duggars

Last week, some of the Duggar siblings, as well as Jeremy's parents, traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, for a conference. After the conference ended, they stayed a few extra days to take in the sights and sounds of the city. They walked through the College Football Hall of Fame, visited Ponce City Market (located inside the historic Sears, Roebuck & Co. building), and enjoyed drinks from Dancing Goats Coffee Bar.

Do we have any Atlanta natives here? Coincidentally, Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium is the location of Super Bowl 53, which takes place on February 3rd.

  1. That sounds like a nice trip for the Duggar ladies and their friends.

  2. Boy Jinger sure changed after marrying Jeremy. Those pants are so tight that they look like stockings. That girl needs to stop selling that book she wrote because that's not right to make money off of something she clearly doesn't believe in. My cousin is a young pastors wife and there is no way she would be dressed in skin tight pants like that. I'm surprised at how these Duggar kids turned out.

    1. I think what probably happened is because she has lived out her life in the public eye she is trying to fit into what others are wearing. She might have gotten a lot of negative remarks in her way she dressed before so being online all the time now that she grew up she probably is just trying to fit in and wear what others are wearing.

    2. Jinger's pants are not that tight. They are very stylish and practical. Not all pastors wives wear long flowing skirts, nor should they have to. Not stated in the bible

      Delete
    3. God loves Jinger no matter what she wears. Maybe the woman who wrote this is jealous because she doesn't have the right nody type to wear these jeans?

    4. A pastors wife can wear what she chooses

      Delete
    5. Jinger looks lovely in her pants. Very stylish.

    6. She looks great! There is nothing wrong with what Jinger is wearing. There is nothing ungodly about dressing in pants. It's how you act and treat others that matters.

    7. Yes. Jinger has changed since she married and got out from under Jim Bob's thumb. It's good to see her blossom into her own person. I think Jeremy encourages her to wear stylish clothing.

    8. I still get surprised everytime I see Jill's nose piercing!! Why? To fit in with her peers at their church.... who knows

    9. For goodness sake do stop being so judgmental, if jinger wants to wear tight jeans then let her, it does not make her any less a godly young woman. I have a friend whose husband is a bishop of the Church of England & his wife who is in her 50s wears all kinds of different clothes, including jeans, no one thinks she is not respecting god or her husband, she is a wonderful woman who does so much pastorally for the cathedral where her husband works, & their 5 children all dress in the same way as other young people, but it does not stop them being deeply religious. I'm sure jinger is also a very respectful woman, but she is only in her mid 20s & should dress accordingly (so long as it's not totally immodest, which it never has been). The way you say your surprised the way the duggar children have turned out just seems very rude & totally uncalled for.

    10. Excuse me Jinger's pants do not look like stockings. She looks fine. It is so rude to knock how she dresses.Nothing wrong with wearing pants.

    11. They are called jeggings. Jeans + leggings = jeggings
      Nothing wrong with them.

    12. You must be new here. If you look on old blogs, before they was even married. Some of the girls do wear pants :)

    13. I think someone is J-E-A-L-O-U-S! Hunger looks fantastic! And FYI, her jeans are a bit bag around the knees so if she was wearing stockings, they would be down around her ankles. Thank goodness she is wearing pants!!!

      Delete
    14. 11:53, or maybe she’s secretly wanted one her whole life but with the way she was brought up she thought that was a sin, and now that she’s married and not liveing under her parents belief system she realized that there was nothing wrong with it?

      Delete
    15. Jinger's pants aren't "skin tight". They're called skinny jeans and the style is currently very popular. Notice the friends in the picture are wearing similar style jeans.

Just as other styles were once popular, skinny jeans are popular now.

      Delete
    16. Well, as long as your deeply religious friend and her family wear pants it should be fine for the Duggars. Please remember though, that the Duggars have promoted their belief system to include women wearing only skirts and not pants. I am glad to see them try new fashion when they are adults, but it is confusing because of the family rules. I wish they would just speak up and explain their new way of thinking so commenters would stop arguing about it.

    20. While I agree that the Duggars have quietly modified their views on some previously held convictions, I hardly think they're on the way to lives of complete moral corruption as your comment suggests. BTW, your pastor's wife's wardrobe is a personal choice and does not make her somehow morallly superior to anyone else.

      Delete
    21. 7:16? Confusing to who? What a weird comment

      Delete
    22. @ 10:12 They only wore pants if they were doing some outdoor activity in cold weather like sledding or skiing. Remember when they were doing EMT stuff on the show and the girls had to wear a skirt over their EMT uniform pants? The Bates girls still wear skirts over their ski pants, too. No it's not moral corruption to wear pants, but it's not good to tell your adoring or paying public one thing and then turn around and do another, with no explanation as to why you completely changed the stance that you were so vocal about before.

      Delete
    23. Anon 6:01 Although what the Duggar s wear isn't my concern. I wouldn't want my Pastors wife to be wearing "jeggings". It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see why. I think a lot of us would be wondering what message is our Pastors wife trying to give wearing them and why? just because we can do something doesn't mean we should. I think a lot of people on this blog are teens and early 20s so they might not recognize the need to be accountable to others and how important that is. It really is God first, others second and yourself last. We want to do all things to the Glory of God.

      Delete
    24. When I am confused about Christanity and women's clothes, I find it is most helpful to look to Jesus Christ's teachings on the subject as recorded in the gospels. For followers of Christ (Christians), it is important that we follow His lessons on this and all matters.

      Delete
    25. Good points @10:43. And just because something like skinny jeans or leggings or jeggings is "the style" now doesn't mean that it's great or that everyone should wear it. I remember when micro-mini skirts and hot pants and halter tops were "the style" too.

      Delete
    26. 10:43- I'm a saggy old lady who wouldn't be caught dead in jeggings. However, if I had a good figure again, I'd have no problem wearing them. (I wore mini-skirts and poor-boy sweaters back in the sixties.) I also wouldn't have a problem with a pastor's wife, or any other woman, wearing them and I wouldn't be wondering what subliminal messages she might be sending. What turns me off most about people is when they busy themselves looking for the bad in others and how they think they may be coming up short in some way.

      Delete
    27. 9:42 - Yes but they wore pants normally. Not just for outdoor activities. This is nothing new. People need to stop acting like these girls just started wearing pants. It makes it sound like something it's not. Like they had no control over what they wore.

      Delete
    28. 10.43 am Woah! Since when has wearing jeggings, leggings or jeans got to do with being accountable to others being a pastor' wife. They can be worn with long tops/jumpers and be decent. y over what she wears.
I'm nearly 50 and I wear jeggings which is far more flattering on my figure than short skirts especially when sitting down! Yes Jana wears leggings with her over knee tight skirts on winter but not in the summer months.
I'd rather the pastors wife seeking God & ministering to the poor & needy daily in jeggings than her worrying obsessively about what she wears. If she's doing that her heart will be in the right place & I seriously doubt she'll be dressed inappropriately.

      Delete
    29. 10:43- Over the years, I've learned that a person's true character is reflected in how they treat other people, especially when accolades are not expected nor attention sought. It matters little to me how they choose to dress or their outward appearances, or if they're a pastor, pastor's wife, the person ringing up my groceries, or the POTUS.

      Delete
    30. Anon 7:34 What we wear when we have many options to choose from does make a statement. I think we need to carry ourselves with respect in not only word but in deed too. So to see a woman, or Pastors wife walking around in "jeggings" is saying a whole lot. I'm yet to see a Pastors wife wearing jeggings and I say Thank God that there are people who won't compromise with the world.

      Delete
    31. Yeah anon 7:34 Yeah because we want everyone to know and see our figure, that's important that people see it, right??

      Delete
    32. Anon 7:34 I don't think it should be jeggings because they are better then short skirts as a reason to wear them. How about wear neither and dress in a more appropriate way. I don't wear jeggings, and I surely wouldn't want my Mom wearing them. My goodness us Christians should set the standard not compromise with the world.

      Delete
    33. @10:43- You question the motivation of a pastor's wife wearing jeggings, yet you prefaced that with not being concerned about what the Duggars wear. That's called being passive-aggressive. We all know Jinger is a pastor's wife. This kind of behavior rubs me the wrong way far more than any article of clothing someone chooses to wear.

      Delete
    34. Anon 12:02 Oh please already, a person should have respect for the Pastoral Office, and that goes for the wife too. God said to who much is given, much is required, so there is accountability, or should be accountability in a high calling like that to dress respectable and lead by example. No one wants to see their Pastors wife walking around in ripped jeggings, Good grief. If someone is being "passive agressive" in pointing that out, big deal.

      Delete
    35. 9:04- I doubt you've surveyed every human being to determine that "no one" would want to see a pastor's wife in jeggings. I, for one, wouldn't care in the least. I'd be more concerned that there are sanctimonious people telling others how they should dress.

      Delete
    36. Anon 4:16 I wouldn't want my Pastors wife wearing them and I have to agree with 9:04 and I seriously doubt most people would want to see their Pastors wife wearing them either. I have a teen daughter and wouldn't want her wearing them so I wouldn't be taking my daughter to any Church where the Pastors wife is wearing them, not a chance would that happen. Nope I'll pass on that stuff. It's hard enough keeping our youth away from worldly temptations let along seeing leaders of the Church dressed like that. How that makes a person sanctimonious is beyond me, I call it concern.

      Delete
    37. I think if more people spoke up about things in the Church maybe the Church wouldn't be moving in a worldly secular way like its moving.

      Delete
    38. @4:16 Thank goodness most pastors' wives have the decency to know what's appropriate to wear and what isn't, so you wouldn't have anything to take an opinion poll about with them. When nuns start wearing jeggings, then I will say that it's OK for anyone connected to any church to wear them.

      Delete
    39. anon 10:11 Thank you, I agree with you 100 percent.

    7. Darlene: It has never been expained exactly what Laura does for the Duggars, if she does anything at all, it is all speculation including the 'homeschooling theory'. She does seem to spend a lot of time with them, organizing weddings, going on mission trips and travelling with them, maybe some day they will explain why she is around so much.

    5. 9:20, a picture of Khloe Kardashian wearing those pants? You realize those are jeans that you could find on thousands of women on social media, that were most likely bought at Kohl’s or Old Navy, they aren’t custom made like whatever jeans you saw Khloe K. wearing.

    6. Anon 10:28. LOL. I don't think Jeremy is picking out tight ripped jeans, he always dresses real conservative and his family dresses real conservative too. No that is Jinger picking out that stuff.lol

  16. For those are surprised to see, especially Jinger in pants... That's not the first time. Jana has said a while go on TV some of them do wear pants but mostly wear skirts and each of them have a different style. If you have time, I suggest looking at past blogs - before 2015 also is good. They are wearing pants, even Joy-Anna. They never said they only wear skirts.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, they have said in the past that they only wear skirts or dresses. If you watched 19 Kids and Counting, Michelle and the older girls said it was part of their personal convictions to wear dresses and skirts. Jill even said that a Duggar girl can do anything in a skirt. The older girls also wrote about this in their book.

      Delete
    2. Times change and people evolve. Even Michelle is wearing shorter skirts and clothes that are more form fitting; i.e., the dresses she chose for her childrens' weddings. I admire these young women! By the way, in the program about Jinger's 1st wedding anniversary, Jeremy consulted Jinger about his clothing choice. Just saying......

      Delete
    3. Style evolution doesn't change the fact that for roughly a decade the Duggars promoted wearing only dresses and skirts as a part of dressing modestly. I'm happy for the Duggar girls, now women, that they are able to determine their own standards and wear what they think is appropriate.

      Delete
    4. 10:44 - That's what people like you see but it's not the case at all. They just wore skirts. They didn't keep preaching about how it's important to wear skirts. People made those assumptions themselves. That's their problem, not the Duggars. Jana put those rumors to rest. They wear pants by their own choice and before marriage. Usually when people dress up for church, special occasions, even being on TV, a lot of women wear skirts. Just because they don't wear pants on the show, doesn't mean anything.

      Delete
    5. The Duggar girls and Michelle didn't wear pants or shorts on 19KC because they said it was their personal conviction to wear skirts and dresses. Those were their own words said on their show and in interviews as well as written in their books. Michelle and the younger girls still don't wear pants or shorts. The Duggars did say that they wore pants or shorts if activities made it necessary like skiing or tubing/swimming. That some wore pants off air only reveals that what they wore in private differed from what they preached to others in public. People believed the Duggars when they told us what their modesty standards were.

      Delete
    3. Oh I wear leggings underneath my skirts. Sooo warm. I couldn’t imagine wearing cold jeans at all. If I had to wear jeans I’d think I would have to put leggings on underneath that yet. My hubby always complains in the winter about jeans so he learned to put a base layer on underneath his jeans and now is warm. It’d be almost the same as us women putting leggings on underneath the jeans. Jean material is not a “warm” winter material and if they don’t hug you tight it’s hardly worth wearing them. (I don’t wear skinny tight jeans anyway). Leggings underneath the right skirt can be fashionable.

  24. Get over it folks. It's just TV. Yes, the Duggars have obviously modified their views on certain things. I'm not sure why it's surprising to anyone that they have. They are, and always have been just human beings. They drew the attention of the media because of their sheer numbers- that's it. That so many fans have put so much stock in what they've said in the past is really sad. There's an old saying that applies here- if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. I don't intend for that to be derogatory toward the family at all, it's just being realistic about human nature in general and their family is no better or worse than any other. The difference is their faults are on full display for everyone to see and question. Don't put people up on a
pedestal. You'll be disappointed in one way or another.

    1. I agree. Being a good Christian has nothing to do with what you wear.

  26. I never saw a pastor's wife, or a pastor for that matter, post so many selfies and posed pictures showing off what they're doing or wearing.

    2. Well most pastors wives didn’t grow up on a reality tv show and Jeremy was a soccer player. They were both in the public eye before Jeremy became a pastor and they got married. Why does it bother you that take post pictures? Social media is a big part of modern American, you don’t have to participate in it, but don’t criticize others for doing so.

    3. That's because most pastors and their wife aren't on reality TV. Just go with the flow.

    4. Many people seem to think they need to post everything they do on social media. That includes pastors and their families. Most aren't as high profile as the Duggars so they aren't quite so visible to people who don't know them.

  28. This is just my opinion, people, but to me the knee-length skirt layered over leggings looks a tad awkward. It's too much. I think a tunic top paired with jeggings or leggings looks more balanced and put together. Oh, to be young and trim again and be able to pull it off!

    1. I agree with you. I thought it made her look bad. I'm not really into leggings. I used to work with a woman who had very thin legs. She wore leggings and they made her look like a spider as her legs were so thin in relation to her body. Some people don't seem to realize that because something is in fashion it doesn't mean YOU should wear it.
