Josiah and Lauren Duggar have been married almost four months. In celebration of fall, they took a trip to North Carolina with the Swansons. Look at those beautiful colors! If you've ever been to the that part of the country during autumn, you know how gorgeous it is. I (Ellie) visited the Smoky Mountains last November, and the scenery was unmatched.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful scenery! That's nice to spend time with the whole family on vacation, such a great time to really bond with each other. Josiah and Lauren look happy. Lauren's Mom sure looks strong and in good shape...great arms from carrying around 9 kids thru the years!

DeleteWell, that even means she is in fact not pregnant or it's still very early but that's their business if she or isn't. Josiah also said in their interview on their wedding they wanted to take things slow and focus on their marriage. Perhaps they might wait a while for children but again, that's their business and decision.

DeleteI keep up with the Duggars styles and a few things I really admire is that they are not afraid to wear something multiple times on TV and they share clothes, I can confirm that definitely does not belong to the Duggars. That is Laurens.

I respect that you said "just kidding" right after instead of leaving it in the air because than it would sound sarcastic or something lol. I personally thought the same thing, the classic hide your early bump behind someone much shorter than you.

DeleteI have hiked in a skirt and I can honestly say it's easier than leggings. I ripped a pair of leggings before trying to hike lol. A skirt that flows is comfortable and easy to move in but a jean skirt isn't, that's the one that is going to cause you to take smaller steps.
DeleteI can barely move in a jean skirt on a flat surface, much less a hill. I don't care about the leggings but if these women have to wear skirts then please allow them one that moves for a hike. I think Lauren's sister has a pleated one on, which makes more sense to me.

DeleteI don’t have a downer outlook on life. I’m a pretty positive person. But I do think the idea of a baby moon is a stretch. But even more than that, I am curious to know when the idea of the husband biting his wife a gift after the baby is born. I have seen some new moms get some pretty extravagant gifts. It just seems like that money might have a better use for a new family, especially with the first born. I honestly am not trying to be a downer about it. Maybe critical, but not downer. It seems like there is someone in each thread, maybe the same one person, making crazy accusations without even knowing the poster.

ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful place and a wonderful time spent with family! Seeing Lauren and Josiah with her family kind of reminded me of Josh and Anna when they first got married and Michelle still had brand new babies. I grew up with an extended family like that- my youngest uncle is 2 years older than me- and it’s a unique, special situation. Plenty of cousins to play with as well as aunts and uncles that are close to your age.

What does Josiah do for a living? I know his wife attended college for awhile. Is he in college? We haven't heard what his job Is. He is working isn't he?
ReplyDeleteAccording to previous articles, Josiah works for Jim Bob in the "family business". I'm not sure exactly what he does. Lauren attended community college while still in high school. She has stated she's "done with school" so I gather her goal is to simply be a good Duggar wife with lots of babies.

DeleteI think that statement he made seemed more like: putting your spouse and marital relationship in importance, before work and other worldly matters, in your heart and mind. He didn't say not to work. I think some people chose to misunderstand it. And as far as being vague on the work titles or places, I think the Duggars are wise to do this, to avoid on-the-job harassment from haters. The Duggars have multiple business interests, from what I understand. I think it's wonderful to have family members fill some of the positions in those businesses. You learn a lot from every job you work, in my experience. And I think a good prerequisite for a managerial role, is to spend time in all the different positions you will be managing people in, that way you could step in to train anyone for any position, from the janitorial on up. And it gives you knowledge and appreciation for the work everyone does in a business. I think Josiah and Lauren are wise to put their new marriage before other worldly concerns,2nd only to their relationship with their heavenly Father, and their Savior Jesus Christ. I admire that, to tell you the truth.

His children and their spouses can work in those businesses, gain skills and experience, and benefit his business as well.I see nothing wrong with working in a family business. Someday these businesses will be passed on to his children and their spouses as well, most likely. Any experience they have in them will benefit them later. If they choose to.

ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun family outing. When I was young, I enjoyed hanging out with my boyfriends' families (and vice versa) too, but thank goodness I was never rushed into marriage.

Awe, Josiah and Lauren are so cute together! I'm so happy the newlyweds were able to join her sweet family on such a beautiful vacation! The more I see Lauren on Counting On, the more I adore her, not only is she gorgeous, she is genuine, kind and has such a fun personality! Perfect for Josiah, plus, her family adores him! So happy inside for these two lovebirds and their families, what a dynamic match! Thanks for sharing an update on them!
