Thanks for leaving your comments! We answer as many of your questions as we can, but due to the number of comments we receive daily, we are unable to answer every one. Our aim is to post all points of view, but we do not post anything that is profane, insulting, derogatory, or in poor taste.
She definitely looks like her mama, and I see the beginnings of a nose crinkle. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute little girl, not sure if I like the wrap on her head, it is kind of big. I guess it's a personal choice, but I for one like to see a baby's head with nothing on it. Baby's hair will come in soon enough, in the meantime, let the head be free,
ReplyDeleteMaybe in winter you'd want a little hat if outside, but I don't see why at other times there are all those headbands and whatnot, except to make the mother happy. The baby sure doesn't need them. They don't even look comfortable.
DeleteAgree!
DeleteI don’t get people that put their girls on huge bows. Are you so afraid that they’ll mistake them for a boy if they’re not wearing a huge bow? 🙄
Aw, it's super cute on her. I don't blame Jinger for putting it on her.
Delete10:18, why do people always feel the need to say that? The hats are cute! Dressing up your baby is fun! Why does it need to be anything more than that? Felicity does not look sad of distressed in any way, so what Jinger and Jeremy decide to do is really none of your business.
DeleteSome people like the look. Everyone is entitled to put headbands or wraps on their own child if they choose. It isn’t necessary to comment on what you like. Jinger obviously likes it. Felicity is adorable either way.
DeleteI personally like hair bows and there is no2wrong with little girls wearing them
DeleteSuch a happy baby! And I love her fashion style! S. from Holland
ReplyDeleteShe's going to have a bald spot because the hair can't grow with all the head gear she wears.
ReplyDeleteNot how it works
DeleteI was just thinking the same thing BEFORE I saw your comment! Her head always has something on it! And it isn't cold enough for hats.
DeleteThat's a myth/old wives tale. Baldness is a genetic trait inherited solely from the female donor aka mother. There are any cultures that cover there children's heads without inhibiting hair growth.
DeleteYou're assuming she wears it regularly. We don't know the facts, because we only see her in a picture now and then.
DeleteYou can rub a bald spot, especially with fine, downy baby hair.
Delete9:45, babies wearing hats can help keep their body temperature regulated
DeleteAnon 10:49 .they live in Texas so if anything the baby would need to be dressed to avoid sweating. Those head things must be hot. It's not a myth by the way about causing baldness by the constant wearing of hats etc.
Delete10:49 Felicity is old enough to keep her body temperature regulated without a hat now. This is Laredo in October, not Juneau in January.
Delete7:17 AM: True, adult baldness is an inherited trait, but there is baldness in infancy. Fine baby hair is lost temporarily from parts of the scalp being repeatedly rubbed against the crib mattress or car seat. Because this is true, then it makes you wonder if babies can have a ring of baldness around their head from always wearing head bands
DeleteI know tons of babies who wear these and none of them have bald spots, so your comments are unfounded.
DeleteTraction alopecia from headbands can happen to girls of any age.
Deletemiss Felicity Vuolo is a good looking combo of both parents (( there,s no butts about it ))
ReplyDeleteThat baby picture of Jinger looks like Josie! I never really thought they looked alike before!
ReplyDeleteI agree she does look like Josie
DeleteI see a hint of daddy in there. I’m happy she will grow up in a more typical environment, outside the Duggar “clan”. I watch the Duggars on tv most of my interest is in seeing how their lifestyle evolves in the lives of their grown children. I have noticed social and personality implications from a sheltered and behind the times upbringing. Felicity will have an opportunity to exist and thrive hopefully in public or private school not homeschool, to belong to social groups filled with kids from all socioeconomic backgrounds and learn that those who are different are not bad.
ReplyDelete“and learn that those who are different are not bad” yet you are pretty much bashing homeschoolers because you think they’re different. You should probably get to know a few, you’d be surprised by how diverse the homeschool community actually is. The way the Duggar grew up is not typical.
DeleteThere is a homeschool organization where I live, and those children are very socialized. My friend and her family belonged to the group. Her children have now finished college. My children went to public school. Although our kids were the same age, hers graduated homeschool and went off to college before mine. Whatever works for the individual family.
DeleteDon't hate on homeschooling! With good curriculum you can successfully homeschool a kid! I do all kinds of fun social activities with my son and what's awesome is we get to go to museums and other educational places without the crowds :). I see what you mean though, with nearly 20 kids and young ones it's hard to go places on a schedule
DeleteHow are they “behind the times” exactly? And my homeschool daughter is resting after choir practice with 40+ kids today. Tomorrow she has small group and this weekend will be filled with pumpkin patch, corn maze, and church...all with children of different ages and socioeconomic backgrounds. She also managed to get through with all of her schoolwork this morning so her afternoon was free for art, playing, and choir practice. Which I believe are all activities that child psychologists say are the most beneficial to cognitive and social growth. As a public school teacher for 5 years I can say wholeheartedly that my homeschooled child is getting more quality social interaction and an exceptional education based on her needs and developmental age. Plus, there is a difference between being sheltered and having convictions that you believe in.
DeleteYes!
DeleteYou certainly are an intolerant person. It seems like you dislike people who make choices that are different than yours. Homeschooling is a wonderful opportunity for many families for various reasons. The Duggars have been many times to El Salvador so they have seen "kids from all socioeconomic backgrounds". Your comment is offensive.
DeleteI’m currently in twelfth grade and have been both public schooled and homeschooled. Personally I prefer being homeschool, and think it opens up opportunities that public schooling does not. I have never not been able to socialize with peers because of homeschooling, and feel that if anything, I have been able to meet more people because of it. Don’t bash something until you’ve tried it😊
DeleteI am from Holland, we do not have many people do homeschooling. I think (and hope) the discussion will not be about which type of schooling will be better. But there is certainly a big difference in the amount of pupils in the class (and school) Although the Duggars are with many :). Going to a public school means you have to interact and learn with much more different people (and hopefully learn to be tolerant to them and them to you)
DeleteWow many of you have attacked the poster and accused them of saying things they didn’t say. I did not read anything that was or should be considered bashing of home schooling. The poster did say as have many studies of homeschoolers said that the children can be impacted by less socialization and too much sheltering in their up bringing (look what happened with Josh). Many of you have accused the poster of being intolerant, but read your own posts, absolutely intolerant of them. The poster was kind, not disrespectful and not rude however many of you got so defensive you were also rude!
DeleteKathy, once again we can count on you to be the voice of reason. Thank you for your intelligent, well thought out response.
DeleteKathy Borders, no one attacked the poster or accused them of anything they didn’t say. Everyone who commented seems to have had experiences with actual homeschoolers, and didn’t just make assumptions about them based off of one family who homeschooled much differently than what is typical in the homeschooling community.
DeleteKathy Borders thank you for pointing that out. I am so dismayed by the intolerance of Christians on this page who attack comments and tell others how to behave. Makes Christians look bad, in my opinion. It is not Christlike.
DeleteKathy 10:20, thank you! People come to this blog and share their opinions and feelings good and bad about the Duggars, many times people reply or respond with such venom . I think the poster is concerned about children being homeschooled in isolation not about the really organized and connected homeschool families. I am concerned about the ugly replies to this poster one saying “you certainly are an intolerant person” the poster can state what they believe and responders can say what they believe without calling names or getting ugly. As far as the Duggars being behind the times, come on back when the adult married kids were growing up they seemed a bit backward, they seem more up to date these days and perhaps have learned that it’s the values you give them not sheltering them that gets you good results. Let’s make sure we are making room for all points of view and keep the ugliness to a minimum.
Delete7:08, so its ok for OP to say that the Duggars are intolerant, and imply that homeschoolers aren’t socialized, but it’s wrong for anyone else to say that OP is being intolerant? And the poster who said that was literally the only one with an “ugly” reply, everyone else just stated what they know from personal experience about homeschooling.
DeleteThe Duggars seem more up to date these days? All we see is that they dress differently and don't perm their hair any more. Nothing else has changed about their philosophies.
DeleteBeautiful baby. I can see a lot of Jinger in her, but I think she has Jeremy’s eyes.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing! Definitely daddy’s eyes!
DeleteAgreed! I think they’ll turn into beautiful hazels just like his!
DeleteThink we'll ever see a picture of Felicity without something on her head? One of these days, she'll be coordinated enough to pull it off herself. How are those head things safe then, if a baby could pull it down over the nose?
ReplyDeleteThey don’t sleep in them
DeleteI want to know how a baby can hear with one of those things over its ears. Wouldn't it muffle everything? Developing babies need to hear everything clearly. That's how they learn to speak.
DeleteI doubt she sleeps in them. How often do you think the newborn is just left to her own devices without a parent close at hand? If she pulls it down or off they can adjust or take it off. But this is for a picture and quite a few people think it’s cute.
DeleteAll you have to do is take your eyes off your baby for a few seconds (awake or asleep) and all kinds of unfortunate things can happen.
DeleteIt takes more than a few seconds to pull a hat down over both your nose AND mouth, and then to suffocate
DeleteHow many times have you seen babies in those baby carrier seats in shopping carts, with the mothers totally distracted for way more than "a few seconds" by what's on the store shelves? The moms couldn't see the baby's face or know what was going on if they had to because of the way the seat sides are built up.
DeleteIf you're not supposed to put your baby down to nap on its stomach, and you're not supposed to use any soft furnishings (blankets, crib bumpers, pillows) in a crib for a baby that young, then why is it OK to put thick soft headbands on a slippery baby's head?
It's also puzzling why anyone would put compression on a baby's skull bones. The plates are still developing and have soft places between them. You're not supposed to restrict their movement or leave the baby in the same position for too long.
There really isn't a sound reason to use headbands. It's surprising that they're still on the market.
7:45 It doesn't work that way.
Delete@7:45Anon Babies can die of suffocation in different ways. Soft things near the head is one way. In slings or car seats is another. That's called positional asphyxiation. It definitely can happen by surprise, when nobody is expecting it.
Delete11:04, I understand that, however 10:33 is implying that Felicity is going to suffocate herself with her head band if her parents take their eyes off her for a few seconds.
DeleteMany mothers put a bow or head band on their baby girl just for a quick picture or two, or for a short while when going out. They generally don't wear them all day at home.
DeleteWell, if that be the case,Nobody should let there child go anywhere or do anything. It is risky jyst living.By overly sheltered is not living. I think that you are absurd.
DeleteI don't understand why parents who are so careful to babyproof the house, put the baby down on their backs to sleep, and strip the crib of bumpers and blankets, will turn around and put a removable headband on the baby's head! Hello! There's another hazard!
DeleteTalk to any pediatrician in the ER about the things they've seen. There is no such thing as being overly careful. Kids will always try go get into the one thing you overlooked. Pets do the same thing!
She looks like a vibrant little girl with a whole lot of personality, even at this age. They chose the perfect name for her, "Felicity" meaning happiness. I think this little girl is going to bring a lot of joy and happiness to her parents.
ReplyDeleteShe is a cutie pie! I think she has her daddy's eyes, but she has Jinger's expressions. Soooo cute
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful baby & how she has changed already. I agree she is looking more & more like jinger though tbf there is still some Jeremy in there too. Keep enjoying these precious moments with your little girl, they are over all too quick & you wonder where time has gone.
ReplyDeleteFelicity looks like her daddy Jeremy with mommy Jinger's expressiveness, which is an interesting blend; she's very intelligent & responsive! Fun to watch her development! ❤
ReplyDeleteFelicity is so darling!!! Love her outfit and matching headband! :)
ReplyDeleteShe does look like her moma. She is a cutie with that big ole smile.
ReplyDeleteOh she’s a cutie!
ReplyDeleteSuch a precious little girl!
ReplyDeleteFelicity is precious!
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful and so expressive and alert. I don't think people should worry so much about the headbands. They are mostly for pictures or special occasions among the people I know and I am sure with Jinger also. I don't think she wears it 24/7. She will be fine. Its current fashion. Something new will come along eventually. Felicity has a gorgeous smile!
ReplyDeleteFelicity looks more like her daddy. She doesn't look like Jinger at all.
ReplyDeleteFelicity is much cute then some of the other Duggars babies.
Huh???? The baby boys are adorable. Every one of Anna's kids could be models in magazines, they are gorgeous!!! I think all the babies were adorable.
DeleteHaving your own thoughts on which babies is ok and natural but you shouldn't post something like this insulting other babies. I would like to suggest you try not to be so superficial.
DeleteI don’t think it’s being rude, some babies are cuter than others, just like some adults are more attractive than others. Jinger and Jeremy are both gorgeous and have a gorgeous child, and same with Jessa and Ben. That’s typically how genetics work.
DeleteWhat kind of a person compares babies?
DeleteWhat a sweet blessing! I so love the name!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that is one gorgeous baby girl! She is always so engaged and expressive, what a fun little one to to add to their (already joyous) lives! Thank you for sharing, I look forward to each smiley photo and newest fashion statement! This headband is my favorite, the color, the bow, cuteness overload! Baby bonnets certainly were cute in the day when I used them but I am kind of jealous these modern headbands weren't at my fingertips, they sure are fun and fashionable with so many styles and colors, I sure would love to dress up a baby girl again, I bet Jinger is having lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing pictures of Jeremys sister and mother, I think Felicity has eyes to match! such a cutie! not a fan of baby head gear, but shes not mine!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet and happy baby!
ReplyDeleteShe looks just like Jinger ,same cute little nose and the same smile !
ReplyDeleteShe IS looking more like her mom.
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful. All my babies were bald. The girl was always referred to as a him but girls can be bald too. There's nothing wrong with that unless her head gets cold!
ReplyDeleteShe has Jingers nose and chin but the rest is all Jeremy. She really is a beautiful smiley baby, I know you shouldn't compare but I think she is the cutest of all the Duggar babies to date.
ReplyDeleteShe looks like a happy baby.
ReplyDeleteHow about a recent picture of Joe and Kendra's baby? He's four months old and we never get to see him.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing. Poor Garrett and Gideon get forgotten it seems.
DeleteThey can’t post pictures if they aren’t provided with them. Joe and Kendra seem to be more private, you should respect their decision.
DeleteLooks happy and healthy
ReplyDeleteShe’s beautiful and so happy. This is a strong Rosie the Rivieter look she’s giving the camera!
ReplyDeleteThe head gear looks like a towel wrapped around her head and tied in a bow. Why do you keep putting all these big head ornaments on her? Just let her be a baby.
ReplyDeleteWhy exactly do you get to say what Jinger should put on her child? Jinger carried her for nine months. I think she gets to decide what her daughter wears.
DeletePart of the fun of having a baby girl is dressing her up! Let Jinger enjoy this time without the picky criticisms. And she can still be a baby while wearing cute accessories on her head, by the way.
DeletePoor Felicity, she’s seems to be sooooo distressed wearing that headband. It’s not like she’s smiling or anything.
DeleteI think everything Jinger does is for show and is doing the same thing with her baby. No one constantly puts huge things on their babies head, that is all for show too.
DeleteSome day very soon that baby will have the hand coordination to reach up there, grab that thing, and take it off herself. End of headbands. Some headbands are choking hazards, BTW, with flowers, buttons, beads, or other things that can come off in a baby's mouth.
Delete2:07, you must not live in the South, almost all baby girls have HUGE bows on all the time
DeleteAnon 9:17. I have family in Texas and Florida and I am here to tell you that they absolutely do not have huge head ornaments on their babies heads. No where have I seen a Mom doing that with her child.
DeleteApparently this is the favorite Grandbaby because we sure see a whole lot of pics of her in this blog and online. What happened to baby Garrett and baby Gideon?
ReplyDeleteMaybe Joy and Kendra are more private with their babies.
DeleteI think Ellie can only post the pictures that are given to her.
I am sure each grandbaby is equally loved:)
Unknown, what a kind response to an incendiary comment.
DeleteShe is such a cutie. She looks like a happy baby.
ReplyDeleteDear Jinger and Jeremy, I can't believe Felicity is already 3 months old. I'm sure she would like a little brother or sister when the time comes. I can't wait to see all 3 of you on the show next season. Felicity is a beautiful baby. Natasha B.
ReplyDeleteShes not 3 month old yet!! Wait till oct 19 then shes offically 3 months old
DeleteFelicity is nearly 3 months old and there have been no more pregnancy announcements in the Duggar family. Feels strange to not have at least one pregnancy on the go at all times with a family their size. I keep checking the blog for news! Especially since a while back there was a blog post asking who we thought would be pregnant next!
ReplyDeleteCan you just let them be please? If they’re happy with their family’s size at the moment why do people feel the need to put so much pressure on them getting pregnant again. Joy, Kendra and Jinger just had babies. Anna, Jessa and Jill could all use a break from childbearing for a while, and Lauren just got married and should be allowed to enjoy the first months of marriage without carrying a baby if that’s what she wants
DeleteI know! This is the first time there isn’t a pregnant Duggar child or spouse in four years!
DeleteI agree but I believe we will have pregnancy announcements soon. My guess is that Jessa is holding off on a pregnancy so they can adopt. Plus jill and Anna will probably have a baby next year. I predict 4 babies next year including one adopted.
DeleteI think 2019 will bring a baby from Josh and Anna, an adopted baby from Jessa and Ben, a baby from Josiah and Kendra, and maybe a baby at the end of the year from John David and Abbie, if they are wanting a big family and plan to have kids right away since Abbie will be in her late twenties.
DeleteAnonymous @ 12:06 I don't think anyone is trying to push for more babies. There have just been so many overlapping pregnancies the last few years that it feels strange for no one to be pregnant.
DeleteSara & Anonymous @ 5:39 I'm also getting the feeling that more baby news is on the horizon.
Anonymous @ 10:51 did you mean Josiah and Lauren?
Beautiful baby girl. God Bless.
ReplyDeleteJoan,Marion and Marilyn
After all the anticipation over the birth of this baby girl, she is just as cute and dressed as fashionably as I had hoped. I am now happlily anticipating seeing photos of her during the stages of her childhood.
ReplyDeleteFelicity is precious!
ReplyDeleteShe started off a little different looking, but as she gets older looks more normal. Prettier.
ReplyDeleteI’m not sure what you mean, I think Felicity was one of the prettier newborn babies this family has had, like Spurgeon.
DeleteShe looked abnormal before??
DeleteWell maybe not "abnormal", she just looks more like a baby girl now.
DeleteThat's why the headcoverings. Some babies just have lumpy misshapen heads for a few weeks or months after birth. But they straighten out. It's not really abnormal.
DeleteSome newborns are lumpy headed, but I thought Felicity had a beautiful non-lumpy head as a newborn.
DeleteCongrats! Wonder if she will be allowed to wear pants as she grows up?
ReplyDeleteJeremy has said that he believes dressing modestly can include pants as well as skirts. I don't think he and Jinger will have any problem with (modest) pants for their children, if they so choose.
Delete
