Happy birthday #9.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY TO JOY! Hope its a good one.
ReplyDeleteHappy 21st birthday Joy-Anna. I can't believe I have been watching you for 15 years since the first variety hour began. I also can't believe Gideon is 8 months old how time flies. I enjoy watching you, Gideon and Austin on T.V. I loved seeing you and Austin in Switzerland making swiss chocolate. I hope Gideon will have a little brother or sister soon. Looking forward to season 9. Enjoy your day! Natasha B.
ReplyDeleteGideon is only 8 months old, there’s no reason for you to say you hope he’ll have a sibling “soon”. Joy and Austin will have another baby when they are ready for one.
DeleteI can not for the life of me understand fans constantly wanting these young women to have baby after baby. Joy obviously had a hard pregnancy suffering from gestational diabetes and having a very large baby after a long labor and c section delivery. Her sisters have also had big babys and emergency trips to the hospital. Why encourage these young women to endanger their health and in some cases lives, just because you want to see it for entertainment, thats just wrong imo.
Delete2:55- They stated that their first baby came as a bit of a surprise. When you aren’t using contraception, babies can come along whether you’re ready or not.
Delete6:02, their parents don’t believe in using BC pills, that doesn’t mean Joy and Austin who are there own separate adult selves cant come to the realization that not ALL forms of birth control are bad.
DeleteYeah. I kind of gathered that Austin was somewhat surprised and a little unsettled with a baby arriving that soon. I’m sure he is totally thrilled and loving Gideon now, but initially starting a marriage and family together seemed overwhelming.
DeleteIf ya wait too long, ya may be sorry! Better to marry the right man now and get busy! Too many women I know are cryin at age 30 because they their career but no kid! Hellooo! 30 is not the new 20! At least on your insides lol
DeleteThe Duggars are more mature (in some ways) than others. Most guy and gals I knew at 19 and 20 were getting drunk and sleeping around. These ladies obviously have higher standards and are mature adults. They're ready for marriage and family
DeleteJoy and Austin have both stated they will have as many kids as God allows. That means a sibling is likely in the near future.
Delete3:05, they said that before Joy had an emergency csection. They may be thinking a little more realistically now
Delete6:15- Did you harbor the same judgement against Michelle when she had children into her 40s? Complications can arise at any age. Michelle had preeclampsia during her pregnancy with Jana and JD. Worry about your own insides.
DeleteAnon@6:18- I think it careless to make broad assumptions that most 19 or 20 year olds are lacking in standards and maturity. You don't have to get married and start having kids at 19 or 20 in order to prove it. My son is 23, has had a steady girlfriend since high school, and they both have secured professional positions since graduating from college. They hope to be married someday, but want to save money first. I call that maturity.
Delete@Anonymous 6:15 p.m. - On the contrary, I have often heard that many women who are stay-at-home moms and even those with kids who work find motherhood deeply unsatisfying. Of course they love their kids, but they find that being a full-time provider of childcare is a very sad existence. It's still quite socially unacceptable to say this, though, so instead we just hear about how much everyone loves it.
Delete@6:15 I agree. If you get into the career mindset, it's much more difficult to switch into the motherhood mindset. Thank the Lord I did though. It's so much more fulfilling than a "career" ever was.
Delete3:17 - It is an untrue generalization that women who choose careers have difficulty transitioning to motherhood or don't feel fulfilled as mothers. Do you think men can't have a career mindset and a fatherhood mindset?
DeleteAnon3:17- I became a mother at 42 and had no problem adjusting.
Delete9:21 You're also making a generalization. Do you have any research to backup your claim? I know many, many women who have had trouble making the adjustment. I think men naturally have a provider mindset and it's harder for them to focus on the family vs the job, but it's definitely important that they do.
Delete9:06- You are drawing conclusions based on your own limited observations, not valid research.
DeleteY'all are drawing your own conclusions based on your own limited experiences. There are women who have trouble adjusting and those who don't. My guess (and yes, it's a guess) is that those numbers are close to 50/50. It depends on their life experiences, expectations, and other many factors. Can't we be happy for those who want to be mothers?
DeleteHappy birthday Joy Anna

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday🎂🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁
ReplyDeleteJoy is such a beautiful young woman! Happy birthday to you Joy!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to wish Joy-Anna a very happy 21st birthday today .may god bless you today and always .
ReplyDeleteHappy Bithday! Is there a special way in which a conservative Baptist celebrates her 21st birthday? It’s regaled as such a “coming of age “ birthday for many with a first beer or off to the casino!
ReplyDeleteI mean if you read the Bible having a drink isn’t wrong, you just shouldn’t be drinking to the point of becoming drunk.
DeleteI am Canadian and of European background. We are given a sip of wine or champagne or beer or whatever from our early teens. That way, when teens were sneaking off drinking outside in the cold or in the basement, we just laughed because it wasn't 'forbidden'. The Americans waiting til the magic age of 21 and then so many getting drunk is just silly.
DeleteThey probably don't drink at all
DeleteI’m curious, too if Joy would have a glass of wine to celebrate this age?
DeleteSame situation exists in Australia .Most parents when I grew up let us taste alcohol with sips when we before the legal age for the same reason as the person from Canada .It doesn't happen so much now but turning 18 is the so called coming of age in Australia .This is when we are legally allowed to drink alcohol ,if not earlier depending on which state you live in obtain a driver's licence and enrol to vote in state and federal elections of which is compulsory in Australia once you turn 18 .My daughter actually turns 21 before the end of the yr and we still often celebrate 21st birthdays basically due to past traditions but turning 18 is the big celebration in Australia .
Delete1:23, in many US states older teens are allowed to have small amounts of alcohol if their parents are present and their consent is given. Really until you turn 25 you shouldn’t be consuming large amounts of alcohol, because your brain isn’t fully developed and become damaged from it.

ReplyDeleteHEY JOY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AND I LOVE U 3!!!!!!! U MADE ONE BIG HEALTHY BOY!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Joy !
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for a new season of counting on. John's wedding should be soon and maybe a new baby announcement for one of the married couple. Can't wait !!!!!
just watched the episode when joy was helping austin with the house he seems very controlling towards her
ReplyDeleteWhile I disagree with many of the beliefs of the (extended) Duggar family, I respect their choices. I just think it's a bit sad that all that can be said of Joy on her 21th birthday is how long she's been married and how old Gideon is. By the time I was 21, I had graduated college, finished a state-accredited vocational training and just started university. Again, it's their choices, but I am sure there's other things that define Joy than being a wife and mother. From what we see on Counting On and social media, she's very active in her parents-in-law's camp and also helping Austin doing house-flipping. So why not mention some of those things?
ReplyDeletehappy birthday joy anna I hope you have a wonderful birthday :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Joy Anna. I hope you got something nice for your birthday.
