Counting On "Jinger and Jeremy's Little Secret"
- Jessa and Ben take their kids to a nearby creamery to pet goats and pick up some goat cheese. “Ben is always looking for local, organic things to add into our regular diet,” says Jessa. Ben’s family is health conscious, and they try to eat plenty of whole grains and veggies.
- Later, Jinger and Jeremy arrive in Arkansas so Jinger can take photos for the little girls’ CD. They are also going to tell the family that Jinger is six weeks pregnant.
- Jinger joins the sisters in helping the little girls get ready. “Being up there in the girls’ room, it definitely made me miss being there,” says Jinger. “I just remember, we would stay up late pretty much every single night and just talk for hours, and I loved that…Being so far away, that’s hard.”
- Several family members come to watch the shoot, including Jim Bob, Michelle, and Jana. “If you’re going to do a photo shoot with a bunch of kids for about an hour, it’s going to get chaotic, and sure enough, it was,” says Jeremy. The five girls (Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn, Josie, and Mackynzie) are full of energy.
- Jim Bob makes sure to snap a group photo of everyone. “Any time that there’s a camera around, my dad always likes to get whoever is there together for a group picture,” says Jessa. “…My dad is really into capturing these moments.”
- Jinger and Jeremy ask Jim Bob to take a photo of the two of them. At the last minute, Jinger pulls out a “We’re expecting” sign, and the family is absolutely thrilled, especially Jim Bob and Michelle. “We had no idea, not a clue!” exclaims Michelle.
- Later, the Vuolos break the news to the rest of the clan during a family meal. Jeremy says the prayer, and he thanks God for “the little one that You have given to me and Jinger.” All the siblings are excited.
- "I cannot wait to talk to my mom," says Jinger. "She has a lot of experience in this field and so [do my] sisters."
- Meanwhile, Joy and Austin are heading out on a babymoon just five weeks before Gideon’s due date. They stay in a beautiful yurt cabin and attempt to fish (on a small boat, in the ice). “Being on a boat in water can be romantic,” says Austin. “I don’t know if, necessarily, fishing is.”
- “But in the ice, it’s not as romantic,” adds Joy.
- After dinner that night, the Forsyths put together a baby book scrapbook.
- "Growing up, my mom was really good at taking pictures, and so we have tons of pictures," says Jessa. "And she would record all of our milestones...in our family calendars."
- One month into the courtship, Lauren trims Josiah’s hair and beard. “Josiah is very talkative, but when he gets nervous, it goes to another level,” says Lauren. “He’s not breathing, it’s just talking, talking, talking, talking.”
Once again there was no voice on this episode on Comcast. I had to watch the program on You Tube on my I Pad. It was a very good 1 hour program.
ReplyDeleteI was shocked to see the ice fishing scene though. That was beyond foolish and so dangerous.
I agree. I guess they didn't care if they put Joy and the baby in danger or not.
DeleteIn 2016 there were 41 fatalities during ice fishing. Most of those were people who were fishing alone and people doing it when the temperatures were too warm. So, not exactly something that’s considered “so dangerous.”
DeleteWhat Joy and Austin did was not ice fishing. Ice fishing is when you fish through an opening on a frozen lake or other body of water. The lake is completely frozen over and the ice very thick to prevent you from falling through. That is why the weather being too warm led to ice fishermen's deaths, they fell through the ice. There is no boat involved. The statistics you reference don't cover what the Forsyths did.
DeleteI would bet that all those exclaiming about "how dangerous" fishing is have 1, never done it, and 2, aren't interested in that kind of activity.
DeleteOf course the kids stay up late every night in the Duggar house - nobody has to get up on time to report to school or work.
ReplyDelete"Report to school or work"; no, they are self-sustaining with home-school & family businesses! The family is God's building block & the backbone of society. ❤
DeleteMy children homeschool and we go to bed early and get up early. So it's not all homeschool families. Most probably have schedulles.
DeleteGetting up before the rooster crows is not even close to being as important as feeding one’s spirit by having meaningful conversations with loved ones. If that can only happen late at night, then who cares if that makes a later start to the morning? Their works still gets gone (and, on average, a whole two years sooner than that of children who DO wake up early to report to public school,) and they lead very productive and enriching lives. Being nasty towards others choices will never make you feel better about your own.
DeleteThe kids are on no schedule anymore. I miss 19 kids and counting. They were so organized back then and really involved with their children. Seems like the more famous and richerthey became they lost touch of family.
DeleteSounds like your jealous!!! Perks of homeschool! You can set your own schedule as long as everything gets done!
DeleteHow would you know if they are on a schedule or not? Such negativity
DeleteAnon 3:53 I know lots off people who homeschool and teach their children to get up early to start their lessons. There is nothing productive about laying around in bed with no set life schedule or no responsibilities. In the real world we get up and go to work and so we teach our children not to be unmotivated but responsible for themselves and others. These life lessons are taught early in life.
DeleteHomeschool is illegal in my country.
DeleteI think this has nothing to do with home school or keeping a schedule. Put a bunch of teenagers in the same room and they are going to talk late into the night regardless of when they need to get up.
Delete9:55 - What country do you live in? I think in our state, homeschoolers have to meet certain criteria of learning that is the same as public school students.
DeletePlease don’t post the recap before the show airs on the west coast.
ReplyDeleteJust don’t read it
DeleteOr you could just not read it 😄
DeleteEasy. Just don’t read it before the show airs!
DeletePersonally I like to read the recap before the show airs.
Don't come to the blog and read it. As for the rest of us who live in other countries we appreciate the recap as this may be the only way we can get to "see" the show
DeleteDon't read before you watch the show. Simple. ❤
DeleteWhy don't you just not read it if you haven't seen it yet?? I can't see the shows at all so I love to read the recap as soon as it's posted.
DeleteYou don't have to read the recap before the show airs...
DeleteWhy not just don’t read the recap before you see the show.
DeleteJust avoid going to Lily and Ellie’s blog before you watch the show
DeleteYou dont have to read it!
ReplyDeleteWe have seen a girl named Laura in a lot of episodes. All we seem to know is that she is Jana's friend. Was she adopted by the Duggars? Lily & Ellie, would you do an excerpt on Laura? Who is this mysterious additional Duggar girl? :)
ReplyDeleteWhat role does Laura play in the Duggar home? Seems pretty strange having a random grown woman living in the girl's dormitory.
DeleteAdopted, haha. She is a grown woman in her late 20s.
DeleteLaura is an old frien of Jana's from Journey to the heart, the IBLP organisation for young women which most of the older Duggar girls attended. I noticed Laura started turning up more around the time Jinger was getting married, I sometimes wonder if she is there to help Jana with her little siblings and keep her company now she is the only adult sister left at home?
DeleteDoes she help tutor, perhaps? They wouldn’t have somebody around the home just to keep Jana company.
DeleteSo great for the Vuolos! And the young girls doing a CD so cute.
ReplyDeleteThese events are so old now. These babies have already been born and are months old. Really, just too much time lagging.
ReplyDeleteThe Duggars are partly responsible themselves for this. They post about their lives immediately and it's already all over their sites. It doesn't help their situation at all. TLC does need to catch up in time.
TLC seems to be on a good role with this seasons episodes so far! Another good one last night.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: why does Michelle carry a Thirty one lunch thermal as a purse? I’ve seen it in some episodes in the past and she had it in last niggt’s episode, too!
Maybe she has to keep snacks or supplements cool?
DeleteMackenzie is very pretty and bright!
ReplyDeletePlease refrain from having any Duggar try new foods in the future. They come off as rude.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, a show that was supposed to be about the "adult" children, because the other show was taken off the air, includes everyone else. Will anyone who still lives at the Big House who WASN'T on the show last night please stand up?
ReplyDeleteTLC, you're not fooling anyone. You still want the entire family on this show, just not those who caused problems for your network.
Some of us like seeing the rest of the family.
DeleteI'm mad about this too, OP. Nothing changed. How much more has to happen before you're off TV for good?
DeleteThis is like telling a child they can't have cookies before dinner and then giving them cookies. You can't "take a show off the air" and then put it right back on, hiding under another name, and start slipping those cookies in the form of everyone on the old show still allowed on the new one. It's a bad example of how to discipline anyone.
DeleteI would say there are more comments about wanting to see the rest of the family than not seeing them. What happened isn’t discipline nor did it have to do with viewers wanting them off. TLC lost commercial sponsors. The show now has sponsors and I’m sure they have the approval of the sponsors to include the rest of the family.
DeleteAn average of 4 people die each year in North America from ice fishing. How is that “so dangerous?”
ReplyDeleteThey didn't truly go ice fishing. Ice fishers don't take small boats out on a frozen lake. Austin didn't know the conditions under the water when he used the boat to break the ice.
DeleteDeath was not the danger, but the distress to her pregnancy had Joy fallen into the icy pond is what I was concerned about.
DeleteA pregnant woman falls in an icy lake. She's pulled out right away, but she's freezing cold and shivering. Her body produces an adrenaline rush, her blood pressure shoots up, her temperature has fallen, and her heart is racing. Now think what secondary effect this has on the baby, and tell me again how going ice fishing while 8 months pregnant is such a great idea.
DeleteIts dangerous if your one of the four or their family!
DeleteA car cuts in front of a pregnant woman on the freeway, and there is a collision. She's pulled from the car immediately, but she's injured. And there's a secondary effect on the baby. Going to the grocery store was such a bad idea!
DeleteLet's just realize that there's risks in everything you do. Some of us women like fishing! And if one hasn't done it before, I think the danger is exaggerated in one's mind.
At least that car has airbags and other safety features. I didn't see Joy's airbag anywhere.
DeleteThe timeline on this show was confusing, making it seem as if baby announcements and babymoons and anniversaries all happened at the same time.
ReplyDeleteRight? Jinger and Jeremy announced their pregnancy to the family around November, Joy and Austin’s baby moon happened 5 weeks before they were due so in january, and Josiah and Lauren had been courting for a month so it was February. Plus, next episode is Jinger and Jeremy’s anniversaries which was in November, and Joe and Kendra’s reveal which was in January. It’s pretty confusing
DeleteDisjointed and annoying to watch. It seems like TLC is trying to show some real time and some 9 months ago happenings at the same time. It used to be they were about 4-6 months behind and now it is at least 9 months. TLC needs to realize that the viewers are going to stop watching if this continues because they can get all the Duggar real time updates online as soon as events happen.
DeleteI just enjoy watching and try not to let the disjointed time frame bother me.
DeleteWhat were the producers thinking... Giving two pregnant ladies unpasturized goat cheese
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing. Did they say it was unpasteurized? I need to watch again. Some goat cheeses do go through the pasteurization process at least in the US.
DeleteActually some people (myself included) are firm believers in the benefits of raw dairy products. Of course, you should know where the cow or goat has been! But raw milk and cheese and butter straight from a farm is really great. Pasteurization actually kills many of the benefits.
DeleteYou don't eat unpasteurized products while pregnant! Or very young, or elderly, or immune compromised...
DeleteCheese is preserved with salt and is not usually pasteurized.
DeleteThe baby moon is ridiculous. I have never heard of such. Spouses have all the time they want to spend together before children are born. Maybe it was due to her getting pregnant on her honeymoon.
ReplyDeleteI think the babymoons are adorable
DeleteSome are just jealous because they never got a babymoon. I think it's sweet.
DeleteBabymoons, gender reveals, over the top engagement videos, all seem to be part of a “ look at us” syndrome for the last few years. I know, to each his own!! Does add up to extra expense for those who don’t have their lives televised though.
DeleteI know many couples who have gone on babymoons and personally think it’s sweet. How is going on vacation with your spouse before having your baby ridiculous?
DeleteI agree with you, seems like people are becoming more and more attention hungry and need every moment acknowledged in their lives.
DeleteThere's a difference between having a babymoon and having a "look at us" mentality. If a couple can manage it, I think it's an awesome idea to have a special getaway before the responsibilities of parenthood set in.
DeleteIt's time to BAN the word JEALOUS here. Unless a poster has proof positive that someone is jealous, it comes across as a ridiculous statement, and one that insults the other poster.
DeleteI was thinking the same thing, 3:36. Anytime anyone questions or disagrees with something the Duggars do, someone blogs that they are just jealous. If I disagree with the idea of a baby moon, please don’t assume I am jealous of ice fishing and sleeping in a yurt.
DeleteThen it must also be time to BAN all the hate comments. And that's what they are. They're not constructive criticism by any means.
DeleteI think the term "babymoon" should mean the period right after the baby is born when you and your husband bond and fall in love with your baby and establish yourselves as a "family", just like the term "honeymoon" is the period immediately following the wedding when you and your husband bond and love and establish yourselves as a "family".
DeleteI agree with your definition of babymoon, 11:30. That’s a much sweeter and more accurate way of looking at it, comparing it to the honeymoon period. Good observation. Thank you.
DeleteJinger and Jeremy are the sweetest couple. You can tell how much they love each other.Their daughter is a cutie pie.
ReplyDeleteLove the show. A lot of stuff happened last night. Can't wait for the next one also John David and Abbie's courtship, honeymoon and wedding. Natasha B.
ReplyDeleteWhy all the judgement? They are homeschooled and they all graduate. It's nobody else's business what time they go to bed or wake up. Some people only reply to this blog to be critical. Very sad. If only all families could raise their children with the duggar values, this world would be a much greater place
ReplyDeleteAgree
DeleteIf everyone raised their children like the Duggars, we would have no doctors, lawyers, teachers, nurses and the list goes on and on.
DeleteMore families than you think raise children with better values than you think, and there's no Duggar system involved. The difference is, the other families do it quietly and not on TV.
DeleteAnon 5:54. I think you are underestimating a whole population of people who raise their children with Godly principles and who have a sense of service to family and others. There are a whole lot of us who have raised our children with excellent qualities and impeccable work ethics who are out in the world being a witness. No offense to the Diggers but it's not that hard for their kids to hold no jobs, film every so often, live on social media, and nothing else is required. Try doing what our kids are doing, working, raising families, witnessing to people in the real world. Let's not sell our children short, because our children are an example of what it means to walk in faith everyday of their lives and bring Glory to God.
DeleteI truly admire the Duggars. I have learned so much from them and have put into practice their daily living habits and have a much more peaceful life than i ever did before.
ReplyDeleteThe Duggars are a wonderful example of how to be Christ's servants.
ReplyDeleteThey used to show how they were an example. Now they don’t even mention God’s name.
DeleteThink about what you said 5:46. Then think about all the things we've seen and heard.
Delete5:46- I'd honestly like to know how they are being servants of Christ. Maybe they are, but I just don't see this reflected on their show. It's mostly filming of their various personal interests... weddings, honeymoons, childbirth, manicures, travel, dining out, etc. I'd rather learn about the ways they are contributing to the greater good of their community. I know they've taken short "mission" trips to Central America. Do they have ongoing philanthropic projects with the people they visited? I'm not really impressed with those who preach the gospel and try to save souls. I'd rather hear how they are helping to meet basic needs of the suffering, at home and abroad. It's easy to quote Scripture, prosthelytize, hand out tracts, and feel good about yourself for doing so. It's quite another to invest in the daily survival of those in need. I
Delete4:13 - I agree with your comment 100%. I will say though that Diana Vuolo's SWAN4kids does positively impact vulnerable children.
DeleteIt use to be about God but now it's only about the Duggar family.
Delete4:27 - If you listened to the girls' new CD, you'd hear a lot about God, actually.
DeleteI enjoyed Ben and Jessa at the goat farm. It’s nice to see them embrace new food choices. Spurg is so cute, love this stage.
ReplyDeleteWhen will they update the header thing to include Abbie, Garrett, and Felicity? I figured they were waiting till all the babies were born so they didn't have to redo it a bunch of times but its been awhile and no one else is courting or pregnant so when is it gonna be updated?
ReplyDeleteMaybe you’d like to volunteer since you seem to think it’s so simple to just update the header.
Delete
