Wishing Marcus Duggar a very happy 5th birthday! He's the third oldest child of Josh and Anna Duggar and the third oldest grandchild of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, and he has the sweetest little smile.

DeleteI agree with 5:14. I wanted to do skin to skin and breast feed my baby immediately after birth, so guess what this mama wore during labor? I’ll give you a hint, it was pretty breezy😉

DeleteI love the Modesty - Made some people Don't think of Modesty but others do ! Just like Breast feeding - That is a special bonding time between mother and child ! I can breast feed in public with a blanket over my shoulder in a quiet place I don't need to be an exhibitionist and do it in the middle of the mall !!

DeleteThere’s an oxymoron @1:21. Televising birth is not in anyway modest. I don’t care how long her dress was. Childbirth should be between husband, wife and medical team, and not a spectator sport.

DeleteNope, her kids are usually two years apart which would mean she would announce after the youngest is one, and Mason is only 9 Months old.

DeleteMackynzie was 20 months old when Michael was born. Michael was 2 weeks shy of 2 years old when Marcus was born. Marcus was 2 years and 1 month when Meredith was born. Meredith was 2 years and 2 months when Mason was born. The births are getting a little farther apart, not closer together. Since Mason is only almost 9 months old, it seems unlikely that Anna would be pregnant again this soon. I'm thinking it will be 10-12 months from now before we hear another pregnancy announcement from them.

Second of all, if it really is about timing, with each baby they've been waiting a longer time: if it really was about time, the right time would be in a year.
You do realize there is more to being a woman than having babies, right? They are capable of a lot of other things.
Delete@3:32. Ever you been following the Duggars at all? The Duggars do not use birth control and believe the more children, the better. Anna has not finished having children,unless she has changed her views on the role of a wife or some medical reason intervenes.
DeleteAs for timing, the Duggars say they leave everything up to God which means they do nothing to space out their children. They let nature take its course.

DeleteThanks Anon at 542PM for that trend report. Many women have a decline in fertility with age so subsequent births getting further spaced apart is not a surprise to me. I doubt Anna will wind up with kids in the double digits like her mother in law.

DeleteI can't help but look at those kids and be sad about the fact that someday, they will find out certain things and be confused and maybe crushed. How can you do that to your family? That alone should be a lesson to everyone.
ReplyDeleteI agree, and I wonder what the children were told, and what they think now, of why they suddenly were moving from their house in DC to live in their grandparents house in AK, and why their father suddenly left them for months.
DeleteI hope at least one good has come out of the horrible situation, by providing a warning to others. But I am sure many people look at the downfall of Josh, and of men who have done even worse, and think "they only got caught because they are rich and famous and had made too many enemies who wanted to bring them down."
But it wasn't just Josh whose secret life was exposed in the AM hack. One of the outed men even took his own life. Sad on all levels.
Or maybe they will see an incredible testimony and be thankful for God's grace on their family.

DeleteThey were pretty young when it happened and I'm sure when the time is right, they will sit down and explain what happened. I don't think they'd go into too much detail but I'm sure they will know what to say.

Happy belated 5th birthday Marcus Anthony Duggar. I can't wait to see you start kindergarten. I remember seeing you fall down on all 4's in a store and getting stitches. My family and I love the show. We wish we could see more of you on the show. Natasha B

DeleteAnonymous @ 4:58- You may not be aware of this, but homeschooling can take many different forms. When my daughter was 5, we belonged to a Co-Op of 30-60 homeschool moms. My daughter went to classes every Friday with 8-10 other 5 year olds (group Story-time with crafts, Music, Art, PE, Science etc.), complete with lunch on the playground, and a kindergarten musical at the end of the year. Our Co-Op went from Pre-K through 6th Grade, offering foreign language classes, History, Science, Geography, Economics, Art, Music, and more. Most of the classes were taught by moms with a degree in those areas, moms who were former teachers, moms specializing in that profession, or moms with other formal training (we had a lot of nurses for some reason). It was a well-organized system, rotating roughly 100-150 children through a 5-7 block class schedule each Friday (with the older classes having homework throughout the week to complete for discussion and tests on Fridays). The moms had rotating class schedules and provided nursery childcare for each other's infants and two-year-olds. Many homeschoolers around the world participate in other, more structured cooperative learning homeschool groups like Classical Conversations on a weekly basis, as well as support groups that provide activities and socialization (field trips, enrichment classes/activities, community projects, community bands /choirs, etc.).
