It has been a little while since we have shared new photos of the Dillard boys, and these pictures are just too cute not to post. Hope they brighten up your Friday.
Safety straps. Maybe Jill is reading comments and learning. Good. Keep it up. That's why we mention these things, because we want to see improvement and we want kids to stay safe.
lol. "mention"? some people lately have been super rude about this kind of thing. I'm pretty sure Jill is doing her best to keep Izzy and Samuel safe and the "mentioning" has gotten pretty excessive (and unkind!) at times.
11:55- It's a safe bet that all this "concern' for the Dillard children's safety is a smokescreen for something else- like a feeling of parenting superiority.
Gee whiz I don't even have kids so my comments certainly don't come from parenting superiority. Some of you are accusing others falsely you know, just to have someone to accuse when you disagree.
Anon at 10:28AM, I wouldn't go as far as to say ALL people who express concern are indulging in feelings of superiority, but I certainly agree about the post you replied to.
I'm not saying we should worship any of the Duggars or never question their actions. But anyone who condescendingly proclaims "we want kids to stay safe" better make sure they've never ever broken any safety rules themselves. For as you judge, you will be judged.
I never used the safety straps in my kids high chairs. The tray was security enough since I was never far from them while they ate. I can understand the straps if the chair was going to become mobile but since it's not the tray is fine. Lol
Kids can wiggle and slide down under the high chair trays lickety-split! Those baby & toddler months are full of babies stiffening and arching their bodies, and then...kersplat. I know moms know what I'm talking about. You're trying to change a diaper, and all of a sudden, you have a baby arching up from the changing table, ready to launch themselves. That's why there are straps there, too. You have to use straps and keep them snug! Loose straps aren't any help.
Sam always looked like scared or something, at least here he is looking cute. Israel was always having some bruises and does not seem to play a lot but being a little helper. Jessa's kids are just cute happy kids who play with toys and enjoy themselves. They do look healthier.
They have ivory, fair skin which shows bruises and allergy "shiners" (red or purple under eyes) easily. They might be slim due to genetics or high activity.
He’s cute and his teeth look like many little boys before they grow into them.....Jill had braces as well as Derick....shoot, I had braces too😬 He May need them in the future oh well still a great looking kiddo!
Seriously...is that a dig...I'd say yes...this has got to stop...how are your teeth...post and then lets ridicule and then see how your mom feels about are "opinions" of your smile...what ev.
8:46 You are reading WAY too much into this! Let Ellie decide what is "a dig" and what isn't, not the other posters. Obviously Ellie thought this was a legit comment about hoping that Israel doesn't have to go through what his father went through. Who'd want anyone to go through that??
Just stop the criticisms, for heaven’s sake. This is a little boy you are talking about. Who are you, anyway, to analyze his mouth and teeth?!? Time to “knock it off!)
10:57, I think he was having other problems due to his jaw shape. I forget the exact term for the condition he had, but I do recall reading that it can cause other issues in the head region, not just a cosmetic or "looks" problem. Sinus issues? I forget exactly what. You don't get your palate surgically expanded for vanity alone.
Dear Izzy and Sam, I can't wait to see you officially back on counting on. also with your parents hopefully starting season 9 sometime at the end of this year 2018 or the starting of 2019. I can't wait to see you guys back for good. I can't wait to see Izzy start preschool. My family and I love the show. Natasha B
It's unlikely the Dillards will be featured on Counting On again. Derick said that he chose to remove his family from the show because they wanted to shift directions. TLC then confirmed Derick would not be on after his controversial comments. Derick has also made comments critical of parents putting their children on tv.
We may see Jill and the boys as part of larger Duggar family activities but not like it was in past seasons.
7:03- Why would you wish for minor children to be exploited on TV for your viewing pleasure? Derick has stated that it was their decision to quit the show. BTW, it's a safe bet that Israel will be homeschooled.
Please respect the wishes of the parents. Derrick quit the show. He and his family WILL not be back o, even if the show is renewed.
Yours and other fans curiosity about the children does not override these children's God given right to grow up out of the glare of cameras. These children do not loose the right to privacy just because their parents were on a popular tv show.
Natasha: The Dillard family won't be back on TLC even if Counting On is renewed. Derrick has stated he doesn't want to be on any show TLC airs. I agree with him that children shouldn't be exploited by being on these type shows.
My little sister squints when she smiles too, I think it’s cute. Israel also has allergies, so that could make his eyes puffy and give the illusion that he’s squinting.
Little kids don't know how to smile for the camera! My kids always did a squinty half smile when we would take their picture, and look very unnatural!!!
I don't like the show, but love seeing pictures of all the little kids. Izzy and Sam are adorable and getting cuter every time I see pictures of them. Adorable.
These 2 boys are so precious & adorable, love seeing pictures of all 10 of the Duggar grandchildren, soon to be 11 & soon after then 12,time flies by so quickly, can’t believe that Sam is 11 months old already. Sending my love to all the Duggar family.I would especially like to wish Kendra & Joe & Jinger & Jeremy all my love & good luck for the birth of Kendra & Joes first son & Jinger & Jeremy’s first daughter, can’t wait to see pictures of the 2 newest Duggar grandbabies.I really hope that the births go really well, will be thinking of you all as you take the road of delivery of your beautiful new baby/ies. Lots of love to y’all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Such cute boys! And Izzy&Sam and Spurgy&Henry will be fun little cousins for the newest boy on the way. Cannot wait to hear about Joe and Kendra's baby boy, due in only 8 more days! Hope Kendra has a good labor and delivery
They are absolutely adorable. I have to admit, right from the beginning, I thought Izzy was totally the cutest baby and he has grown into the cutest child. I do miss them. Thanks for the pictures, Ellie.
If Sam swallowed some meconium and it was really as simple as that, that's neither unheard of nor all that uncommon. Why couldn't/wouldn't Jill & Derick, Michelle, or Ellie & Lilly just say so and be done with it? It would certainly have put the issue to rest. Instead, it looks like they're hiding something because the Duggar girls have all been very public with their pregnancies and filmed for TV births. Did they really think their fan base wouldn't notice (much less be asking questions)? While they certainly aren't obligated to disclose private information, they've made a living for years disclosing their private lives (you can't much more private than being filmed by a film crew giving birth for the world to see). By not talking about it, they're just fueling the fire and causing their fans to question their honesty/integrity. People who have nothing to hide have no problem discussing.
Considering the timing of Samuel's birth on relation to the Derrick / TLC breakup, it may be as simple as the Dillards having decided even before the birth that they were going to be private about it and not show it on TV, even if everything had gone according to plan.
BTW I find it ironic that people are questioning the Dillards integrity for not telling all about what happened to Samuel, but are praising Joe and Kendra for being "private" and not mining the birth of their baby for "drama". The two opinions seem quite contradictory, yet I'm sure at least some people hold both.
Honestly, I'd prefer none of the Duggars film their births for the world to see. I'd much rather the moms drop the audience and film crew (no offense Sound Man Jim)and just focus on bringing their baby safely into the world with the least amount of problems/issues, stress possible. If they want to sell their exclusive to People, have at it (personally, I'd put it in the baby's college fund). For my family, Jill & Derick not really publicizing Sam's birth and attendant NICU hospital stay is yet another glaring inconsistency that nobody in the family is willing to address. Let's face it, Michelle and JimBob's whole spiel has been about birthing so many children, and Jessa and Jill were more than happy to give birth on camera until Sam. Long time fans are going to notice when a Duggar deviates from their well-publicized normal...and naturally want to know why...and they shouldn't be slammed for asking.
It is different for Jill. She did everything on tv. Kendra never did. So why not show the birth of Sam. I think becouse she made wrong choices and did not want people to see
Enjoyed seeing these pictures - I (as a fan) was always interested in Jill - then Derick and the boys. Keep showing us their growth progress. How they are interacting with both families = VERY important.
6/11@ 7:04pm....thank you for your post. You said it all beautifully. Yes, this is a wide spread opinion about the Dillards' silence over Sammy's birth events. The Dillards need to explain 'something'.
Thanks for leaving your comments! We answer as many of your questions as we can, but due to the number of comments we receive daily, we are unable to answer every one. Our aim is to post all points of view, but we do not post anything that is profane, insulting, derogatory, or in poor taste.
Thats one of the cutest pictures of Israel Ive seen.
ReplyDeleteyes agreed
DeleteSuch cute boys!!!
ReplyDeleteSafety straps. Maybe Jill is reading comments and learning. Good. Keep it up. That's why we mention these things, because we want to see improvement and we want kids to stay safe.
ReplyDeletePeople who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Let them learn on their own.
Delete*Eye roll* So glad the safety police are satisfied.
DeleteNever strapped any of my children in a high chair. They are all alive and doing well as adults.
Deletelol. "mention"? some people lately have been super rude about this kind of thing. I'm pretty sure Jill is doing her best to keep Izzy and Samuel safe and the "mentioning" has gotten pretty excessive (and unkind!) at times.
DeleteThey have done some really unsafe things with the kids. Nice to see her improve
Delete11:55- It's a safe bet that all this "concern' for the Dillard children's safety is a smokescreen for something else- like a feeling of parenting superiority.

DeleteThese two little boys are so cute and so very precious:)
ReplyDeleteCutie-patooties! I'm reminded of Jim Croce's song, "Time in a Bottle". Before you know it, your kids are all grown up. Savor every day.
ReplyDeleteSo adorable
ReplyDeleteThey are cute kids. Why are some people claiming they're "unhealthy"? They look just fine to me.
ReplyDeleteThey did look differant from the healthy kids of Jessa. These pictures are better.
Delete1:58, they look just as healthy as Jessa’s kids! I haven’t seen any pictures where they look unhealthy.
DeleteBecause those people are shallow and prefer to make terrible accusations.
DeleteSam always looked like scared or something, at least here he is looking cute. Israel was always having some bruises and does not seem to play a lot but being a little helper. Jessa's kids are just cute happy kids who play with toys and enjoy themselves. They do look healthier.
DeleteSam never looked scared, he just has HUGE eyes (not meant in a mean way)
DeleteThey have ivory, fair skin which shows bruises and allergy "shiners" (red or purple under eyes) easily. They might be slim due to genetics or high activity.
DeleteTwo handsome boys. Adorable!
ReplyDeleteJoan,Marion and Marilyn
From my experience with my kids, Izzy will need braces in the future. Jill should saving now.
ReplyDeleteWell Jill and Derick both needed them, so it won’t be that shocking if he needs them
DeleteMy eyes got stuck rolling. Don't you have anything better to do than pick on a toddler's appearance?
DeleteGood grief..let the dentist decide that.
Delete4:38 - that is really a snarky comment about a child.
DeleteGosh these people are terrible. Constantly attacking these kids appearance.
DeleteHe is probably going to have Jill's teeth, his upper lip is not covering his upper jaw.
DeleteAsap very cute!
ReplyDeleteIzzy is looking more like Derick. I hope he doesn't have the upper jaw problems his father had.
ReplyDeleteI think he will as the spacing on his teeth is a bit strange.
DeleteDerick’s face problems were self-caused. He didn’t have any issues until he and Jill decided he needed a different face for TV
DeleteHe’s cute and his teeth look like many little boys before they grow into them.....Jill had braces as well as Derick....shoot, I had braces too😬 He May need them in the future oh well still a great looking kiddo!

ReplyDeleteDerick "pulled his family from the show," remember? You aren't supposed to see them on it any more.
DeleteIt's unlikely the Dillards will be featured on Counting On again. Derick said that he chose to remove his family from the show because they wanted to shift directions. TLC then confirmed Derick would not be on after his controversial comments. Derick has also made comments critical of parents putting their children on tv.

Derick doesn’t need want to be on the show, so I doubt the boys will be on it very much

ReplyDeleteMy little sister squints when she smiles too, I think it’s cute. Israel also has allergies, so that could make his eyes puffy and give the illusion that he’s squinting.
DeleteHe is a child. One of my boys always squinted when he smiled for pictures. It took years before he smiled normally for pictures.
DeleteLittle kids don't know how to smile for the camera! My kids always did a squinty half smile when we would take their picture, and look very unnatural!!!
DeleteI think some kids just do that.
DeleteSuch handsome little guys. Love their smiles.
ReplyDeleteIzzy looks a lot like Jill.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful children!
ReplyDeleteWhat darling children. Beautiful family.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the show, but love seeing pictures of all the little kids. Izzy and Sam are adorable and getting cuter every time I see pictures of them. Adorable.

I don't think they're coming back on TLC. You might have a long wait. It seems Derrick has burned his bridges.
ReplyDeleteDerrick doesn't care. He wanted out and good for him
DeleteYes. Derrick doesn't like some of the programming on TLC and I think they don't like him after some of the comments he made.
DeleteSuch cute boys! And Izzy&Sam and Spurgy&Henry will be fun little cousins for the newest boy on the way. Cannot wait to hear about Joe and Kendra's baby boy, due in only 8 more days! Hope Kendra has a good labor and delivery

DeleteThey are absolutely adorable. I have to admit, right from the beginning, I thought Izzy was totally the cutest baby and he has grown into the cutest child. I do miss them. Thanks for the pictures, Ellie.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious what exactly happened to Sam that he had to spend 2 weeks in NICU, what health issues he had.
ReplyDeleteDon't hold your breath. If they'd wanted people to know what happened exactly, they'd have said something by now.
DeleteI’m thinking he swallowed meconium. He had to wear oxygen awhile after he came home, and it would explain that.
DeleteIf Sam swallowed some meconium and it was really as simple as that, that's neither unheard of nor all that uncommon.
