Josiah Duggar, Lauren Swanson, Michelle Duggar, Jim Bob Duggar
Another Duggar wedding is in the works. Now that Josiah and Lauren are engaged, it's time to plan their big day. Josiah will be the seventh Duggar child and the third Duggar son to get married.
In the video below, Jim Bob and Michelle congratulate Josiah and Lauren.

Incredibly awkward.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it’s easy to forget that the new fiancés of the Duggar kids aren’t used to being on camera. Add to that the fact that she’s probably giddy over becoming engaged to him and no wonder she seems uncomfortable or nervous.
DeleteCongratulations!! God bless your new life together. It's great to hear from Jim Bob and Michelle. I miss seeing them on the show. ❤
ReplyDeleteThey already announced their engagement. Who are Jim Bob and Michelle introducing Josiah and Lauren to?
ReplyDeleteThat's not a good title to a post. You shouldn't post about a couple eleventy-seven times and then say you're introducing them.
DeleteFor promo
DeleteCongratulations Josiah and Lauren you are such a cute couple.Michelle and Jim Bob you are gaining a daughter and Lauren you couldn't find a more loving Godly family to marry into.Josiah I can see how happy you are to find this young lady to be your wife.
ReplyDeleteJust curious, why do people say things like “you couldn’t find. More loving Godly family” and things similar concerning the Duggars? I’m not bashing the family, I really do like most of them, but I know many families that would be better to marry into than the Duggars.
DeleteI’m sure there are many other families out there that are great like the Duggars. Saying “you couldn’t find a better family” is not meant to be taken literally. It’s just a way of saying they are a good family,
Deletethey said same thing about anna. new a new line. its what is expected of jim michelle .jimneeds to quit saying that what he looked for in a woman this was about the NEW couple
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately these videos from JimBob and Michelle are more about them than anything else. Perhaps they miss being on TLC.
DeleteAW! I loved this! All comments were from the heart. I loved Lauren's sweet response to it all, "How Good God Is!".
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 11:20 I am really sorry but I have to disagree with you. All of these videos are the same, all the same things get said, and Jimbob always brings it back round to him and Michelle. These videos cannot be 'from the heart', when they are obviously recorded not for the couple but for the fans, and have become so repetative, you just know what words a pharses you are going to hear.
DeleteWell, Anon 9:20. If you don't like it, don't watch it.
Deletecongratulations to you both and many well wishes
ReplyDeleteWish I could have heard what Josiah said. I turned my sound up but couldn't hear. I would like to hear from the new couple, instead of just Michelle talking almost the whole time and saying the same thing she says every time. This is kind of awkward. Why do they announce this way? The other half of the couple has never made announcements like this with their parents. I say let the couple do it themsekves. It is their time to shine and speak, not Michelle and Jimbob's. Michelle seems to hog the spotlight quite a bit during these things. Even JB can barely get a word in edge wise. It just comes across as odd to me.
ReplyDeleteI agree that these video’s seem really staged and awkward. I think they’re doing it for their fans. Somehow Jim Bob always brings the conversation back to himself and Michelle. Regardless I wish them all well
DeleteI don't think they're trying to take the spotlight. I personally enjoy hearing from Michelle and Jim Bob.
DeleteSeems like this is Jim Bob and Michelle’s effort to stay front and center with the fans. They need to let their adult children be front and center. Life is not about them.
ReplyDeletecould someone please tell me how long they have known each other? first thing we know about her we see her on a trip to new zealand with them? next thing you know it is a wedding? seems pretty fast to me? Can these kids talk for themsleves and not have people around them? Seems that Mom and Pop do not trust your adult kids? Something is not right here.
ReplyDeleteLauren has been called an "old family friend" but nothing so far about exactly how long.
DeleteHowever, I actually recall that way back in the fall of 2017, one of the episodes (I think it was the 2nd J+A wedding/J+K engagement one) featured the obligatory question of "who's courting next" and there was a pretty solid consensus among the family members that it would be Josiah...even Josiah himself said "Me!"
So I'm pretty sure that even back then, Josiah and Lauren were more than just friends, even if they hadn't officially started courting yet. That would make for at least a 4-5 months relationship, not a 6 week one, before they got engaged. I actually don't fault the Duggars for this discretion. Why drag a relationship into the spotlight too early and have it not work out?

ReplyDeleteJosiah is the first Duggar ever to have 2 courtships the 2nd one works for him. Some people would say they are rushing bit a lot of famous gotten married fast after dating that person. To me Josiah found the love of his life. So congrats to him & The future Mrs D Lauren.
It is very obvious to me that Michelle REALLY likes Lauren. Her happiness while announcing this engagement definitely exceeds some of the other announcements.

ReplyDeleteQuestion.... Do other families in their church announce their childrens' engagements in this manner, like msybe on facebook or youtube, or do the Duggars only do it, just because they are on TV?
ReplyDeleteYes, some do.
DeleteLauren is stunning! So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for him. I do t know what happened with his last courtship, but I'm happy for Josiah.
ReplyDeletePrecious couple! Time passes so quickly and hopefully, they will enjoy each moment.Even the best of marriages go through some trying times. I pray that they have a wonderful life together and lean on each other, learn from each other and forgive when needed. I love my husband. But, after 25 years together. He can do some of the MOST irritating things at times. Like:breathing or talking or taking that tacky fishing shirt back out of the trash(Again!) I'm only kidding but, if you've been together a Long time. You know what I'm kidding about. One more thing to learn when getting married. There is NO brake peddle on the passenger side floorboard. No matter how hard you try to push it while he is driving to fast. Thank goodness for GPS.He won't ask for directions either. Just forgive him. He means well and takes the trash out and grills a mean rack of ribs and he'll also crank your car on those frost covered mornings.I thank God for my flawed(but, perfect for me) Man
ReplyDeleteof MOST of my dreams. It's possible that he might even be able to come up with a complaint about me. I'm just joking because laughter has helped us through some hard times. Bless You All!
Annie thank you for sharing your sweet story and laughter and lots of prayer has gotten us through really rough times.
DeleteThis is hilarious and I couldn’t agree more! Laughter is definitely a wonderful gift to give and receive in marriage. God bless you and your marriage, and please do keep that sense of humour alive :D
