DeleteIf the Dillards don't want to be in the public eye anymore, we should respect their wishes. Although, it would be nice if they would issue a parting statement to their fans.
DeleteI, too, pray the Duggars and the Bates will move to a Christian television network, like CBN or one of those. UP by the definition on its own website is not Christian, simply a station providing "positive programming" about families.

ReplyDeleteWe just love Jim Bob and Michelle!! Out of all the Duggars these two are our favs! The pictures with Jim Bob and the grand-kids is so very cute! He is a blessed man but he is so because he has followed God's will in his life. Jim Bob and Michelle are such a Godly witness to us all. Still praying that the Jim Bob, Michelle, Josh, Anna, little kids, and Grandma Duggar (Super Grandma) will one day have a show on another network. They all are very missed. Thanks for these pictures and please more on Jim Bob and Michelle!
ReplyDeleteI agree. As another poster stated, I wish the Duggars would cut ties with TLC and go with UP, like the Bates have done. I think the show should return to being 19 Kids, too. I miss seeing the everyone on the show. I'm very sorry for what happened with Josh, but I never felt it was right the way TLC punished the whole family and we had to go with Counting On, centered around just Jill and Jessa, principally. Bring the family back.
DeleteAny network has to make money and no network will air a show that has few viewers or is in competition with another show they air. I seriously doubt that any other network would pick up the Duggars because the same issues will exist-low sponsors interest and declining viewership. TLC is trying to keep the Duggars on the air by concentrating on the young couples,where the interest lies.
DeleteUnless the Duggars are on a private network,supported solely by donations from viewers and by no sponsorship and the Duggars appear for free, the show will not go back to its former format.
Josh is not missed by everyone. And until a few more years have passed, and we KNOW that Josh is done with everything he was doing, then maybe he can come back into the public eye. But TLC has already said that Josh will never be returning to the show, and I doubt the Duggars will ever move to another station.

DeleteIf someone kicked my Mom and Dad off a show we were on together because of something one of my siblings did, I too would be gone. If there was a contract then I would fight to break it. There is no way that I would ever let someone treat my parents like that and then turn around and make money off of me their child. I love my parents and I have their backs.
DeleteThe Duggar parents and the other kids have been on Counting On more times than you can count. All they did was change the name of the show. The cast hardly changed at all. Apparently the parents are OK with that, or there wouldn't be a show and they wouldn't be on it.

DeleteAnon 4:46 The parents don't play any major role in the new show. The new show isn't about the parents or the younger kids. TLC kicked their show off but allows them only to show up to wedding dress shopping etc. It's not ok for anyones adult children to allow that kind treatment to their parents. If the Parents are ok with that kind of treatment then perhaps they have come to except nothing better from their adult kids.
DeleteBeing on a Reality show is not the only way to earn money. This is the land of opportunity and so you don't have to betray a Godly conscience in order to make a living. There are lots and lots of people who have left lucrative jobs rather then to be a part of a corrupt business organization. God blessed them for doing it too. TLC network has not only betrayed the Duggar parents but has become so depraved in their choice of shows that it's unhealthy and immoral to even want to be a part of it. God warns us about the love of money being a root of evil.

DeleteSilly comment, @3:00pm. My in-laws have 46 grandchildren, and they have no trouble remembering any names! My mother-in-law remembers every single birthday too. When they're family, and you love them, you don't forget.
DeleteMy inlaws always flubbed their own kids' names. It got to be a family joke. If they were hollering for one kid, three or four other names would come out first.
DeleteWell mostly/maybe: my dad had 3 kids and he never had our birthdays right. There was no question that he loved us as demonstrated by his parenting and involement with us as a family and individually.
Delete7:49- I don't agree. Names were mixed up at times by both my parents and grandparents in our large extended family. I never doubted their love for all of us.
DeleteI have five kids, 1 girl and 4 boys, my husband and I mix up our little boy's names all of the time. But we love them very much. And it does not help that they all look alike from behind. And people at church mix up their names too.
Delete7:49, my parents had 8 kids and they mixed up our names a lot, especially in a stressful situation. I never doubted their love for any of us. So yes, it is possible to mix up your kids names from time to time even when you love them

ReplyDeleteJill has to follow her head of household's decisions. Derick said his "family" wouldn't be appearing on the show any more. So if Jill and the boys are on, then Derick statement wasn't true.

ReplyDeleteHe may, but what does it matter?? My husband irons his own shirts and our Rowenta steam iron makes sharp creases just like that though.
