Jana's probably courting, and that's the only thing that saved the show!!

DeleteCould it be just because we love the family? I know this is why I watch! It is a peaceful wonderful show! They should let them on more often! Instead they put 300 pound people, Engaged for 90 days and many others for long period of times. To each his own but I don't watch these shows! It doesn't entertain me or bring me peace!

DeleteYou can only watch 'counting on' if you pay or have cable. It is not free online through TLC without having a cable provider.Youtube only advertises the cost of watching the season. |If anyone knows anything else for sure let me know. I have a mi-box. (Android) but not cable.

DeleteThe Bates Family looks like they're wrapping Tori's engagement and wedding all into one episode on UPtv, so it'd be nice to have TLC do the same with the Duggar Family. Too many episodes devoted to every detail of planning a wedding. Wrap it up in one episode and have other story lines for the other episodes (their jobs, hobbies, church life, social life, birthday parties, travel, house flipping, newlywed life, pregnancy, teaching values to the Jill's/Jessa's/Anna's littles, Jana's life, the grandbabies with the grandparents etc).

DeleteI love the show, but the past couple seasons, I have became bored with all the wedding planning that I quit watching. I really hope TLC catches up and cuts out all the flashbacks.
DeleteI don't think the twins...Jana and John...will ever marry. Both are completely shy and insecure. It's sad.
DeleteIt seems every season, we get two wedding episodes - a shortened one to kick the season off and a longer one at the end of the season, then at least one clip show. Considering the seasons are only like 8 episodes long, that averages to 25% of a season being recycled content
DeleteWe have definitely seen enough of all the weddings so far, including Joe and Kendra's. We know it was his first kiss and now she is pregnant. The weddings were all great. Sometimes it feels like we are watching repeats in the off season when really they are in a new season. They don't seem to have a lot of filming time per season other than the weddings. I love the family and would like to see more of their daily lives.

DeleteIt looks like 2018 will be the year of grand-babies! Joy, Jinger, Joe & Kendra... and I bet Jessa or Jill will be pregnant again before the year is out. I SO hope it's courting news for Jana. She is a jewel! I can't understand why a great guy hasn't made his move. John is kind of an introvert and dresses/styles himself like a 50 yr old farmer instead of a virile young man under 30. That could be why he's not courting. Mom and Dad - help the boy out!

DeleteI find it interesting that people become so invested in this family. I live this life but it is my daughter, nieces and nephews that fill up the slots. We don't do courtships, just dating, engagements and marriage. Weddings, Mar 2014, June 2015, Oct 2015, Sept 2016, Oct 2016, Births, July 2016, Dec 2016, Aug 2017, Sept 2017 (2) Pregnancies, due Feb 2018 (2). I feel sorry that their lives are so on sale. Would be nice for them just to enjoy their family without all the scrutiny, but they are all over the internet, so no privacy.
ReplyDeleteCan't be on TV without scrutiny and having every detail analyzed. They continue to be on TV so obviously they accept that. Could be the wealth that comes from it causes them to use poor judgment on protecting their family.
DeleteA lot of people put their info all over the internet. At least the Duggars are getting paid for it. I enjoy my own family, but I also enjoy seeing the Duggars and Bates and keeping up with the their families. It is an encouragement to me to see how God has blessed them.

I agree...TLC needs to catch up and not dwell on every wedding and courtship detail on each marriage. Maybe a couple episodes but not a entire season. Then the flashback get obnoxious. It is not the family, it is whomever is doing the editing.

ReplyDeleteRobin, there are lots of Christians on TV. There are also other networks who dedicate time to "family-friendly programming"- far more than TLC has in its lineup any given season. The are a significant number of Christians, quietly living out their faith on a daily basis, within all aspects of the television industry. The Duggars don't have a corner on the Christian television market! LOL

ReplyDeleteTLC has made the decisions on how they want the show done. I miss seeing the little Duggars and have suggested the family move to UP with the Bates family. I am sure they have a new contract written every season so maybe they should check out another network.

ReplyDeleteDo you know if we'll see Samuel's birth in this season even if derick is not gonna be in the serie anymore ? I'm sad we haven't had more news about him.
I doubt we will see Samuel or Mason's birth. But I hope they at least mention they were born last year. Imagine when they are older and watch all the episodes and they don't even get a mention in their birth year. And for the fans who only follow the family by watching the show is getting the shaft.

DeleteI think we will see Jill and babies occasionally but Derick will not be seen unless in a crowd shot like a wedding etc. Anna & kids will be seen a little also. Josh is too controversial & I think TLC banned his appearance. There is ark till an ick factor about him for lots of people.

Maybe mom & Dad are allowing the twins to move out & live on their own...I mean, John owns a home of his own and Jana owns a business & could definitely afford to rent or buy. They’re almost 30 - I think that’s only fair.
