Duggar Thanksgiving Photos, 2017

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar hosted a Thanksgiving meal attended by most of their children and in-laws, including Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo, Joseph and Kendra Duggar, Josh and Anna Duggar, Jessa and Ben Seewald, and Jill and Derick Dillard. A few weren't able to make it, and some were present but are not in the group photo.

    4. Definitely looks like it, I noticed it too. Suits her though :)

    5. It doesn't look like she has her nose pierced at all. Not sure where you guys are getting that. Is there another picture somewhere I haven't seen?

      Delete
    6. Ok, now I see the nose ring. At first that picture wasn't showing up on my phone for some reason. I see it now. I wish she had not done that. It is so different for her. That's just my opinion:)

      Delete
    7. Follow the link! There's a picture of her holding Sam and it's clear it's a nose ring.

    8. When I zoomed in, it looked like a scab. As though she had gotten a deep scratch that is healing over.

    9. Why would anyone want to mess up their beautiful face over a "gaudy" thingamajig on their face. I. Just. Don't. Get. It. Beautiful sincere lady is out the door looks like to me. It'll only get worse from here.

    10. Not sure if she's trying to assert her "independence by expressing herself", "find herself", or what, but it's kind of sad that she somehow feels that piercing herself in some way is going to make her "more" of something she feels is lacking in herself. I sincerely hope that being cut adrift from her TV reality show life isn't causing some sort of identity crisis. Not joking in the slightest, this young lady has literally grown up being filmed every week, with a hefty girl fan club following (particularly among conservative homeschooling fundamentals). Now, that's gone in one fell swoop. The "foreign missionaries in Central America" is gone too as they parted ways with S.O.S. in June. I'm concerned about Jill.

I agree I’m worried about her as well. I almost feel like she’s doing these things (nose pierced and wearing pants) to distract from derricks recent behavior. I’ve been worried about her since samuels birth and hope she’s receiving the help and support she needs.

    2. They've been wearing shorts for years now. Even Jinger had the audacity to don a pair this past summer. Gasp!

  9. I don’t understand why Mackenzie always has such a scared look on her face?! I know a lot of people will probably think I’m just trying to instigate something, but I’m not. I’ve noticed it on almost all her pictures from the last year or so. It’s like she’s scared to make the wrong move - and you can see her smile isn’t genuine. Most of the other little girls look happy while smiling, but this poor sweetie doesn’t. I hope everything is ok for her at home.

    1. Haven't noticed that with Mackynzie, but definitely noticed that for a long time with Jennifer, and to some extent with Johannah and Jordyn.

      Delete
    2. Huh? Doesn't look scared to me.

      Delete
    3. You really don't have enough information to refer to her as a "poor" sweetie. You also don't know her well enough to state as a fact that her smile isn't genuine. She is an innocent child. No matter how you feel about her parents and/or grandparents, leave her alone.

      Delete
    4. Huh. I don't read her expression as scared.

      Delete
    5. Yes, I've noticed the same thing. There's something going on with her. I pray she gets real help.

      Delete
    6. I don’t think she looks scared. Some kids just hate having their pictures taken and won’t smile in them. My nephew is like that. He isn’t an unhappy person at all. He just hates having his picture taken.

    7. Me too, but there have been a lot of problems in her family. And another baby means not a lot of attention for her.

    8. NO MARY is right, Mackenzie, was a very happy child, afterwords, she changed, the other kids look sad, but Kenzie, used to have a fun way around her, but now, it seems to have gone!!! I noticed that change when she lived at the Duggar's house, and I HOPE THIS IS GOING TO CHANGE!!!!! Love U Kenzie, I LOVE U ANNA!!!!!!

    9. PS I am sorry, but I said that because I care about Anna, her kids very much, Kenzie, I watched that wonderful girl be born, so it hurts, because I want her to be happy too!!!! Mary cares too, we both love Kenzie!!!!!!!

  18. Now, this is not a hate question, but a real one citing the Duggar inconsistencies in their beliefs and their actions: I thought it was stated that MOTHERS must home educate their own children. If this is so, as Michelle has stated, that the mother of the household is the children's first and only teacher, why, then has this family employed tutors for quite some time now? This is not in accordance with their religious beliefs. Thank you for the response as many are noticing this.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. They don't believe so much that Mother's must educate the children, but now that they just be educated at home. The tutors they have are of the same religious beliefs, so this arrangement does not go against their religious beliefs in any way.

      Delete
    2. There is no biblical statement that mothers along must educate their own children. It makes sense they'd have hired help since the oldest 5 girls are now all married and out of the house. They still have quite a few kids under 18 at home.

      Delete
    3. Please share where/when the Duggars have ever stated that mothers must home educate their children. Please include when/where they have shared religious beliefs against using tutors. All I remember hearing is that they knew some homeschooling families, liked what they saw, and said, "we want that for our children".

      Delete
    4. Michelle don 't have time to teach. Before the older girls where teaching (and not Michelle). But they are out the house. And niet they have a tutor and computer.

      Delete
    5. One of Michelle's famous early stories was about Nana their piano teacher, who became a big help to the family. So this shows they have never been against using outside tutors.

  25. I wonder if the Duggars would refund me for what I spent a few years back on the book Growing up Duggar? This book is about a whole different set of young ladies than the ones I am more and more unfollowing by the day. (Except for Jana) Money wasted.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Wow, seriously? They were teenagers under their parents' rules and now they are adults, mostly married and on their own. They are allowed to grow and evolve and think for themselves.

      Delete
    2. How sad for you?

      Delete
    3. Why is it money wasted?

      Delete
    4. Wait a minute here, that person has every right to feel unset about buying that book and then finding out that what was written was not true. Those girls were not little kids when they wrote and made money off of that book. They also held seminars off of those principles they talked about in that book and made money on that too. If I bought that book I would feel deceived too.

      Delete
    5. Totally right@7:39!!

      Delete
    6. Um, I don't think you're using much logic 7:39. Basically what your saying is that if you right a book you're never aloud to change your opinion. Maybe someday the girls will write a new book, talking about their new principles, but right now I think they're kind of busy raising their kids. I bought Growing Up Duggar, and I don't feel like it was money wasted, even though the girls have different opinions now. If you enjoyed the book and agreed with it, you can continue to do so even if the authors don't still think the same way they did before.

      Delete
    7. Good example of a reason the Duggars would need to refund people who bought their book; The printing company ran out of ink, and your book came blank.

Bad example of a reason the Duggars would need to refund people who bought their book; They no longer agree with everything they originally said in a book the wrote 3 years ago.

3 years ago my favorite color was yellow. Now it's green.
If I were to have published a book 3 years ago and said my favorite color was yellow, but now 3 years later said it's green, and people got mad at me, and told me I needed to refund them, that would be crazy, and everyone would agree.

      Delete
    8. Not to mention that the Duggar ladies are still receiving royalties from that book each time it sells. A book that 3 out of 4 clearly no longer endorse.

      Delete
    9. The Duggar sisters lived by all the rules in their book, and all remained pure until marriage. Their book still has value for young single women trying to honor the Lord.

      Delete
    10. Anon 4:59 if they are still receiving money for that book and have not so much as explained the antics that are going on now with them then they are being deceitful. They should feel some sense of accountability to people who paid money for that book.

    1. She is smiling for a photo op that she knows will be shared online. This family always puts on a happy face. I would be surprised if Anna is happy at all.

      Delete
    2. Anna has been smiling in all of her photos, only she knows if she is really happy, it's not really for anyone to make assumptions on whether she is or not.

      Delete
    3. As Anna put it in the TLC interviews, "Just keep doing the next right thing."- In this case, the right thing to Anna is to forgive an act as though nothing ever happened, to smile in family pictures that she knows will be posted on he family's website, to maintain interest in the family because it contributes to the family's income (her & Josh's, as well as everyone else's). That's how she's been raised, as well as coached by her mother-in-law. I believe that Anna sincerely does love the Lord and is doing her level best to do what she thinks/has been taught to please Him. I pray for Anna that her trust is not misplaced and her faith not abused.

  29. ONE more thing, The Duggars have almost doubled their size when I was watching them with 17 kids and counting, they have grown from 19, on 2008, and now 2017 there's 36, crazy in a good way!!!!!!!

  30. I wonder how Jana, a grown woman of almost 28, feels that her sisters can wear a nice pair of jeans but she cannot choose to. Doesn't that seem to be a silly rule? Do they believe that Jinger and Jill are sinning because they are dressing 'not like a woman'? We know they wear skirts when with their parents, but it's like drinking alcohol when your parents aren't around, but refrain from it when they're together...everyone knows their doing it, but not when they're together. Once again, strange.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. How do you know that Jana thinks a pair of jeans is nice? What if she is personally convicted against wearing them herself, no matter what her married sisters wear?

      Delete
    2. It isn’t strange to respect your parents and their beliefs. As you get older and out of the house, you decide for yourself what your beliefs are. When you visit your family, you should have respect for their beliefs and what you have been taught even if you no longer follow all of them.

      Delete
    3. I would say that Jana prefers to wear skirts and dresses but after seeing her sisters leave home and dress in pants and apparently a nose ring I would guess that Jana will turn around and do the same thing. All is not what it seems with this family.

      Delete
    4. Anon @ 3:08 While I understand what you are saying respect is a two way street. I think that Jimbob and Michelle should accept that their daughters who are over eighteen and married are adults and have the right to make their own decisions regarding what they wear. If they wear pants/jeans in their own lives they should feel comfortable enough to wear them around their parents, and the parents should love and respect their adult kids enough to allow them to do that.

      Delete
    5. @3:08, I would hope that a 28 year old women would have decided what her beliefs were already. When a young person visits or is still living with your parents, you are respectful, of course. But beliefs and customs are different. And the parents must also accept that their daughters could very well not follow the same customs as them (like wearing pants) while still following the same beliefs.

      Delete
    6. I don't think it's strange for the ones who wear pants not to wear them around the rest of the family. The parents still have little ones at home, and they are trying to raise them the way they see fit. It would confuse the younger children to have the older ones wearing pants, and could cause rebellion. It is only respectful for the older married girls to follow the house rules when they go home.

      Delete
    7. My hope is that all of the Duggar children realize their freedom in Christ when they reach adulthood. God does not require women to wear long skirts and long hair, or to be pregnant as soon and as often as possible. God does not require side hugs, or for boys to only wear long pants. And He certainly doesn't tell us we can't go to Starbucks! Those types of rules are created by humans, not God, to give an appearance of righteousness. True righteousness comes through Jesus Christ, not following silly rules.

      Delete
    8. While it's true that righteousness comes only through Jesus, we're also commanded to work out our Salvation with fear and trembling (meaning, use that new freedom from sin to walk in God's ways and live a life worthy of Jesus in all that we say and do). It doesn't mean we can use our new freedom to indulge ourselves in whatever pleases us.

  33. Since many here have stated that wearing pants is a choice the Duggar girls have made and NOT a strict belief, what's the problem for any of the daughters to wear them in front of their parents? They're speaking out of both sides of their mouths...either it's CHOICE and shouldn't be a problem to wear in front of their parents or it is a strict belief that women wear skirts and it's their religious belief. The Duggars should clarify what their positions are at this time.
