  10. I can't put my finger on it, but there's something about Jeremy that strikes me as odd. And by odd I mean insincere. I hope he's a good match for Jinger, she seems very sweet.

    1. It bothered me the way he laughed when the hot coffee fell onto Jinger in the car, after he had insisted that she take the lid off and "nothing" would happen, even if he made a turn. I thought that was particularly insensitive and bossy of him.

  13. judging by the pictures above both jinger and jeremy look super happy still enjoying life as a married couple before rushing off to have a child. double thumbs and hats off to celebrate their choice to wait. GOD BLESS THEM BOTH IN A REAL POS CHOICE

    1. What does "POS CHOICE" mean?

      Delete
    2. I don't think k we need to "celebrate" their choice in not having children right now.We just need to respect their sessions. I know they expressed that they would like to start a family and they will be great parents. I do think it is wise to strengthen their relationship before having kids, but we don't need to "celebrate" it.

  14. Here it comes all the stupid comments like "Oh, they are my favorite couple because they decided to enjoy their marriage first" or "Oh, Jinger is my favorite, she is the smartest one".

I feel sad with people comparing all the sisters, praising Jinger for being intelligent and smart enough to "wait" while accusing the other sisters of being "dumb" for wanting to have kids right away.
That's so disrespectfull and close minded!!! I'm disgusted with those comments.

    1. Andrea: People are entitled to their opinions wether you like it or not. I think people feel that Jinger and Jeremy are a breath of fresh air because they have choosen to not get pregnant straight away which goes against the norm with the Duggars. Every one of her sisters has gotten pregnant straight after marriage, or not long after without stopping to pause and enjoy just being a couple and getting to know each other better after a short courtship and engagement. Having babies is a big undertaking and it can be easy as a new mom to feel very overwhelmed at times (I see this in Jessa sometimes), but if they decide to have children straight away more power to them. I have to say that you are coming across as being very defensive, and are taking peoples comments on a blog about a reality TV show too seriously!

    2. I get annoyed too. I am not saying Jinger and Jerymy should not wait , but I get annoyed when people praise them for waiting , but at the same time they say the other girls are doing something wrong by having babies soon after marriage.

    3. Andrea I agree with you. I think the other married sister have shown much more courage by holding onto the standards and convictions that they have always had. If anything as a Mom I would be concerned to see one of my daughter's get married and when she moved away start doing and dressing in a way that she has never voiced in the past was her desire. Jeremy gave a sermon saying God doesn't Save us or is concerned about how we dress etc. but the Duggars never said God judges on what we wear, they said it was their personal conviction which is what Jinger felt until now. Also the married girls were always excited about having children and Jinger was until now. I don't think it's Jeremy's job to change his wife, but to love and enjoy the woman he fell in love with. I think the other married girls in the family live by their convictions which shows strength.

    4. But 11:10, maybe those weren't Jinger's convictions. Maybe she felt she couldn't voice her own personal preferences while living with her family. Maybe how she is living now is how she really wants to live. She sure looks happy. Actually, I think it shows strength to live life differently from one's family.

    5. Whether you are cheering them on for "waiting" to have kids or not, no one knows if they are choosing not to have children right away, or if they're trying and nothing is happening. In any event, it's foolish to make assumptions.

    6. I think what is going on is Jinger is from the Quiverfull doctrine where Jeremy isn't. The other men married to the other sisters are either from the Quiverfull doctrine or if not they honored their wives and their wives family by being fine with their wives following their God given convictions to have as many children as God would bless them with. The other married men also are happy that their wives stay true to the dress style that their convictions dictate to their hearts. That is honorable if you ask me.

I'm know people are entitled to their opinion like it or not, so that's exactly what I'm doing too, stating my opinion, like it or not, LOL. I totally agree with you that having kids isn't easy. I have three kids and I know how overwhelming it can be, I'm not even questioning that. What makes me furious is that people immediately assume that "avoinding kids"= "inteligent/smart/knowing each other" and that "having kids right away"="dumb/brainwashed/don't enjoy marriage".

Yes, maybe I'm taking their comments a little too serious, but that's just because those people are serious about the insensitive and stupid things they are saying.

Although I'm not a part of the same christian denomination of the Duggars, I chose to have kids right away. My husband and I thought we knew each other well enough when he got married. And even though we decided to get pregnant right after the wedding (on our honeymoon) we feel like we enjoyed our first year of marriage to the fullest. So yes, it really bothers me that people immediately assume that having kids right away equals being dumb and not enjoying marriage. They are entitled to their opinion, I'm entitled tp say their opinion is ridiculous, bahahahahahaha!:)

    8. Yeah, Andrea, I get annoyed too that people are so against babies right away. Having kids is hard work, but they are also a great blessing! I think it is wrong for people to get upset on those who have kids right away , but praise those who don't.

    9. I don't think people should love this couple just because they are not having kids right away. That is so annoying.

  15. I love this couple! Congratulations to you both Jinger & Jeremy!

  16. what a cute couple. So glad to see them enjoying life together as a couple and not feeling rushed to have a baby as every other girl in this family has done. Nothing wrong w/ just being married for awhile before having a family. You can never go back to being just a husband and wife after having kids.

    1. Nothing wrong with having kids right away either. Jill and Joy WANTED to have babies quickly. Jessa actually said Spurgeon was a surprise baby, and so was Henry.

    2. Stop these silly comments. If she is struggling with infertility (and many couples hide this with jokes about “waiting”), your comment could be very painful...coming from someone who struggled with infertility....

    3. It is possible that they are expecting a baby and haven't announced it yet. It's also possible that they would love to be expecting, and it just hasn't happened yet.

    4. I agree! And some people's critics might be very hurtful if they are trying unsuccessfully, after all not everyone is blessed with children.

    5. No, the original poster is correct. They made it clear in an interview that they were waiting several years before starting a family.

  17. So glad to see them enjoying the honeymoon years. They have adorable chemistry.

  18. It is so important that couples start a life together away from family and their sometimes strong influences. They are strengthening their own relationship before having children and I believe that is the best way forward.

  19. Another thing to remember about them is that if they had a baby they wouldn't have the same amount of family support that her other siblings have had living close by (with the exception of Jill when they've gone to SA, but if I recall they were home for a bit after Israel arrived). It might be intimidating to go through pregnancy, childbirth, and infancy without that kind of support system, not to mention in a less familiar place. Perhaps she recognizes that her freedom right now is precious because it will disappear once a baby is in the picture.

    1. Believe it or not, kids can be had and raised without family close by. The Duggars don't seem to understand this concept. But it's done, by many people! If you're in the military, you go where they send you, kids and all.

  20. I can't help but notice too how Jeremy is bent into changing jinger instead of enjoying her as she is...I don't know....maybe that's not how to word it...but what is it? Definitely something amiss or odd but can't put a finger on it. You just can feel it.

    1. I think marriage has given Jinger the freedom to spread her wings and find out who she is. While living at home she followed her parents rules, but part of growing up is thinking about and challenging those rules and deciding how we want to live our lives with our own guidelines and beliefs. Jinger certainly seems happier and more relaxed since she married and moved to Texas with Babe.

    2. What would make you think he is into changing her? A few pictures you saw on the internet?

  21. Who says they have to have kids??? It is a personal decision and there are many reasons couples don't have children, Leave them alone to make their own personal decisions.

    1. I think people find it interesting because Jinger's family has been extremely vocal for many years that when it comes to children, there is no such thing as "personal decisions." Hence, all the "leaving it in god's hands" talk on repeat. I agree J&J should make their own choices, but this is a dramatic departure from what the Duggars have been saying for years. Yes, that makes it interesting. Jinger seemingly is abandoning many of their beliefs and rules.
