Joe: 'She Would Always Bring Joy Into Our Life'

Those who tuned in to the first Duggar special, '14 Children and Pregnant Again!", were introduced to Joy-Anna Duggar at age six. Now, thirteen years later, she's a married woman and expecting her first baby. In this video from last night's episode, you'll be treated to never-before-seen photos of Joy as a young child, as well as old clips from 19 Kids and Counting that are sure to make you smile.

  1. She truly brought joy into my life whenever she appeared.
It's just still so hard for me to watch the show with the same viewing perspective I had before November 2016. It pains me to bravely smile seeing her now married and expecting. I will however wish them the best of life and that God will continue blessing them in every way possible.

    1. Superjames, can't wait for the day that I log on to read comments, and you tell us that God has brought the right woman into your life!

    2. SuperJames526: I mean this in the kindest way, if a reality TV show is causing you so much upset and pain you really need to stop watching it. It is easy to get caught up in a fantasy, and dream but you should try and do something else for yourself, something that WILL make you happy. I wish you good luck and peace in your life.

    6. Nov 16 is when she started courting Austin.

    7. Anon @ 8:19 I think it was Jinger getting married that James is referring to.

    8. Anon. 4:44 - Thanks. I'm sorry if I seem like such a downer everytime I comment on a post related to Joy.

Anon. 5:33 - The show in it's entirety hasn't caused me pain. I was the one who didn't want to accept the fact that I may never meet the Duggars. Ever since I saw their family and learned about their core values, I desired to have a future family like the one they have.

Anon. 8:28 - Truth be told, I didn't have feelings for just someone on TV, I had feelings for a girl who was the perfect example for a future godly wife. Austin had a huge head start, that's all.

    9. God bless you. Your girl is out there dreaming about you too. Patience is so hard but woth it in the end. Praying you get to start your family soon.

    10. SuperJames526 -- Take this energy that you spend pining away over Joy and use it to spend in prayer and reading your Bible, drawing closer to God. Get involved in your church youth group. Turn this into a positive.

    11. Set your own core values and don’t emulate a TV family.

    12. Anon. 10:34 - Truth be told, it was actually the fact that they "rushed" the Wedding, and then crushed me when I saw the tweet that said that Joy was courting.
It was a sudden shock to hear that the Wedding Episode was pushed forward, but to end it with Joystin's announcement was too much for my longing heart to handle.

    13. SuperJames, could you please to listen to the older and wiser people on this board? The Duggars are a TV show. What you see is not reality, yours or theirs. They certainly wouldn't want people they've never met getting obsessed with their unmarried (or married) daughters. Would you?

    14. Anon. 3:52 - Thanks. I really needed to hear that.

Anon. 5:24 - I'm over that season of pining for Joy. However, previous events have hurt me just as much as the night I found out the good news.

Anon. 5:48 - I will set my own core values; which will be based on the Duggars' Values. They've taught me more about being a family than my own family has.

    15. This is getting very awkward.

    16. Anon. 4:44 - I am. I know what they show on TV's not real. I'm not obsessed with them anymore. I never was. They were...just a beacon of hope for me while I was in High School. They made me happy, which is something that is hard to accomplish. I know they wouldn't like it, which is why now I don't tend to comment on every single post like I used to.

      Anon. 1:49 - How so?

    17. How so? It just seems so dramatic and a bit weird to wax poetic over someone you've never met and probably have no chance of meeting. I used to have a huge crush on Tom Sellick but had no delusions we would meet and fall in love. Please try to find a life of your own; you sound a little depressed.

    18. Good grief Anon 2:20, it's perfectly legit that he would care for Joy. She is a real person , you know. She is not a fictional character.

    19. Anon. 2:20 - True. I guess I had a common case of "celebrity crush".
I'll try; and yes, I am depressed.

  3. Typical tomboy fashion, pick your man early (because you spend your time with them, duh!) and have a bunch of kids-sort of the female version of spreading your seed far and wide. She seems happy, and so does her husband! Yay for us former tomboys! :)

  7. I'm surprised no one has commented on how much she (Joy) looks like Amy in this video clip!
