Duggar Videos: Joe and Kendra

Happy Wednesday to our lovely blog readers! We want to share a few Duggar videos that TLC recently uploaded to YouTube. For those who are new here, we do this every several weeks because we know that some of our readers are unable to watch the clips that we share directly from TLC.com.

  1. Lily & Ellie It's best to call Kendra Mrs JOESPH Duggar now not Caldwell that's her maiden name. They are a good couple Kendra reminds me of Anna Josh's wife. I don't like reading the articles about the sisters maiden names since they are married to their husbands It's Jessa Seewald Jill Dillard & Jinger Vuolo & Joyanna Forstyh.

    1. Actually, Kendra Caldwell Duggar is correct form unless you're addressing her formally (as in a formal written invitation in which you'd use Mrs. Joseph Duggar). Most states allow the woman to determine whether her legal documents will specify her as Kendra Caldwell Duggar or Kendra [her middle name] Duggar. Many women choose to retain their maiden name as a surname to preserve the genealogical record of their family name. As for the blog, Ellie and Lilly identify the Duggar daughters by surname and married name because it makes it easier to find the site for others using search engines on the internet (Bing, Google, Yahoo, etc.). Someone may forget Derick's last name or grossly misspell Jeremy or Ben's last name, but it will come up under Duggar. It's actually a very thoughtful gesture and intelligent use of search engine protocol...not a radical feminist statement.

    2. If someone called me "Mrs. Someone Else" I'd think they were either 100 years old or nearly braindead. How rude.

    3. Don't criticize Ellie. She is a friend of these people can call them whatever name she feels comfortable using.

...or Kendra Caldwell. Women are not required by law in any state to change their name upon getting married. Neither are men.

    5. I'm happy to be called "Mrs. My Husband's First Name Last Name"

    6. It's best to call her Mrs. JOSEPH Duggar? That may be your opinion, but there are no hard-and-fast rules. A woman may use whatever name she chooses, including keeping her last name and forgoing taking her husband's.

    7. This really shouldn't be up for debate. It's best and most respectful to call a person (Kendra or anyone) what SHE wants to be called.

  3. Please advise how to visit this blog without several videos playing and competing with each other at the same time.
It is so annoying and unpleasant to browse.

    1. Hi Margaret,

Unfortunately, the autoplay function is out of our hands. We have asked TLC, and due to the format of their website, they cannot turn it off for embedded videos. We try to keep it to one video per page, but you can always mute your volume so you don't hear them.

Hope this helps! We are blessed to have you as a reader.

    2. Margaret in Canada- I can relate. I always feel like I'm being yelled at or bombarded. LOL I've found it useful to turn off my sound (or turn it all the way down) before I open the blog page. Then I just systematically scroll down the page and click the = (Pause) on each video box. Then I turn my sound back on. That way, I can choose which videos I want to listen to, as I read down the page. Problem solved. :)

  4. Does season 6 end after "Joseph's wedding"? I noticed that was the last episode listed in showtimes.

  5. I'm going to avoid watching the Joe/Kendra wedding next week and watch the shows in order. I still plan to record like all of the other shows, but I want to see Joe and Kendra's relationship grow before seeing the wedding. I enjoyed Joy and Austin's wedding more after seeing their relationship progress. I really don't like the back tracking that TLC does after showing the last couple of weddings.

    1. I love it, and I don't blame you at all. This family is so similar to the Kardashians it makes sense you'd mix up their names.

    2. 2:34 just how are they similar to Kartrashians?? You are a rude troll! It's also called typo

  9. I was hoping to see the reception. They invite thousands of people from across the country, but don't have food. Root Beer floats is ridiculous, maybe as an extra but not instead of cake. It seems like they only provide food at the rehearsal. Surely then can afford a real wedding reception !!!

    1. I'm surprised at how many people want a big meal. I admire this family for not being obese and not wasting money on a huge dinner. Marriages that last the longest don't have to cost the most. A simple luncheon or snacks or nothing at all is fine. I have a couple cousins who didn't want cake. Just because someone's wedding does not fit into your idea of what it should be does not mean it isn't special to that couple and that family.

    2. I really like Kendra. Seems like a nice girl. Happy for her and Joe. Maybe TLC can show the different jobs that Joe does. Would be nice to get to know their hobbies, too. I wish them well.

    3. I agree. And...a real wedding reception would still be inexpensive because there would be no alcohol, and no band/DJ.

    4. I do feel that if you have people coming from various places, it is hospitable to serve food for them. It's just common courtesy. It's also quite symbolic to all "break bread together." Scrimp and save money somewhere else and serve your guests. They made the effort for you.

    6. I agree with you, but it's obviously not important to them. It's a shame, really, because they've made a big deal in the past about being hospitable to people. If you invite someone to an event where giving a gift is an expectation, the least you can do is provide more than just snack food for the guests.

    7. I think the type of reception is up to the couple. Formal dinner receptions are usually for weddings with guests under 400. It would be nearly impossible to seat 1100 people for a sit down meal in most churches, which is where the Duggar weddings have been held. Cake and snack foods are perfectly fine. Gift giving is optional for any wedding, I don’t know of any invitation that has ever said “gift is required to attend. Still don’t understand why people look for reasons to find issue with everything this family does.

    8. I agree with both of the above comments. Food at any event is VERY important. My former boss told me that for all-day meetings, he made sure to get good food for the attendees because the last thing anybody wants is to feel deprived while trying their best to work/attend an important event. If that advice can be taken seriously for a work-related situation, then it should certainly be heeded for Weddings!

    9. I agree. Only Zach and Whitney Bates had a sit down dinner out of all the weddings in these two mega families. They had 400 people I think.

    10. @ Anonymous October 19, 2017 at 7:52 PM . I also agree with you. They should provide food with everyone who have come so far, and I feel they need some type of music even if they don't dance. Maybe some violin hymns, or something simple would've nice. That's watcha do at weddings. I feel bad, they don't get to have there first dance. So sad

      Delete
    11. If you go to a Duggar wedding, you know that a sit down dinner will not be served. Can you even imagine how much time it would take to serve 1,000 people? Also where could you serve that many people? Most guests to weddings live locally. When did weddings become all about food? It is ridiculous to expect the bride’s family to pay for your meal just because you came to see the couple exchange vows. We all know caterers and restaurants charge about three times their normal prices for weddings. There is no reason to spend that kind of money. I am sure the Duggars feed the family members from out of town who come stay with them for a wedding.

Anon 7:01. Comparing a wedding to an all day work meeting is ridiculous. Wedddings last thirty minutes to an hour. I think people can make it without food for that long. The Duggars always provide some kind of snack or cake for those who need to eat every hour.

      Delete
    12. They obviously don't feel bad about it, so spare your feelings. Guests know the drill by now at these weddings, they are not expecting a full spread. I'm sure those who expect a formal dinner do not attend so they can enjoy a full course in the comforts of their homes.

    13. Weddings don't last 30 to 60 minutes. It takes hours to go to a wedding, sometimes most of the day. You have to drive to the venue. That could be a long trip for some. Sit and wait for the ceremony to begin. Ceremony itself. Drive to the reception venue if not the same as the wedding. Wait for the couple to arrive after photos. By then you'd be at least thirsty, if not hungry, too. I've never been to a wedding where food and drink wan't offered immediately upon arrival at the reception, even before the sit-down meal or the buffet service begins. Why even bother having a reception, if you're not going to provide appropriate food? Have the church ceremony, have a receiving line, and then throw the rice. Bye-bye! But at least let the guests know in advance that it's a ceremony only.

    15. Ok the Duggar weddings are HUGH where can you find that big of space. And it's not about the guest it's about the Couple! And they do house, and feed the out of town guest. We saw it at Jessa Wedding. They had lots of people who stayed in different places the Duggar own, and they feed them.

  10. If one is serving pickles at their wedding reception the decent thing to do would be to serve something that goes with it...like chicken salad finger sandwiches. Sorry, pickles do not belong on a table with pretzels, etc...as the MAIN FOOD.

  11. I don't go to weddings for the food. I would give the couple a nice gift even if they were serving nothing. Than I would stop at McDonald's on the way home.Lol Jane
