"Joe, growing up, you would fall asleep just wherever, many times when you were eating."
-Jana Duggar
Jana may not be married, but life as the oldest daughter in a family of 19 kids has given her a maturity that exceeds well beyond her 27 years. In this video, she shares stories and insight about younger brother Joseph Duggar, her first interactions with Kendra Caldwell, and what she admires most about Joe and Kendra as a couple.

Sweet video:)
ReplyDeleteJana is the epitomy of grace. Absolutely lovely and well-spoken.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful way to describe Jana! Thanks for the uplifting comment. ☺
DeleteJana is so beautiful and kind! I know there are wonderful things in her future cause she deserves only the best!!! 💕
ReplyDeleteI have been following your family since the very beginning. It has been a total joy watching you and growing with you. Your faith amazes me everyday and I just want you to know how much I admire your family.
ReplyDeleteJana is a beautiful daughter of our wonderful Lord
ReplyDeleteThe video will not play. It actually says "Requested page id does not exist".
ReplyDelete"Requested page id does not exist"
ReplyDeleteJust give us links to where these videos originally appeared. Nine times out of ten, they don't work here! Nice try, but something gets lost in translation.
What does her not being married have to do with anything? It doesn't take wisdom to be married. You may as well have written, "Jana may not be an astronaut, but life as the oldest..."
ReplyDeleteYes, I thought that was odd to include. Also, 27 isn't particularly young - I mean, it's not old, but it's not that young either. I expect a 27 year old to be pretty mature. The comment about her "mature beyond her years" is odd, too.
Deletebut people never feel sorry for her not being an astronaut. ;)
DeleteVideo doesn't work it says page Id does not exist
ReplyDeletePlease post something else, this Joe and Kendra stuff is getting really boring!
ReplyDeleteWhy do you have to point out that she's not married?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. Do people think you can only be happy if you are married?
DeleteIt's just a black box saying "requested page id does not exist". I've always been able to see your video clips until today, nothing but a black box.
ReplyDeleteJana is such a sweet lady! She comes across as so content with her own life and always wanting to build up others. Watching Kendra's face, I could tell that it meant a lot to have Jana speak highly of her. I'm sure she will love having Jana for a big sister (in-law).
ReplyDeleteSomething is wrong with video. "Requested page ID does not exist" is the message that appears.
ReplyDeleteYour videos always work on my phone, so something did not upload correctly.
Would you please reload video?
Thank You!
This is odd. I watched this video last night. It was so sweet I wanted to show it to my daughter today but TLC seems to have taken it down. :(
ReplyDeleteHe'd often fall asleep, wherever, many times while eating? Once in awhile I can understand, but that sounds like a child with no consistent routine or sleep schedule. It isn't funny.
ReplyDeleteNot necessarily. My son's best friend falls asleep in seconds anywhere. He has a normal routine and gets enough sleep at night. He is just one of those people who can sleep anywhere anytime.
DeleteShe said "in your high chair", so I'm going to assume that means when he was a baby, and that's not unusual. I don't know why everyone feels the need to be so critical.
DeleteOr someone who has sleep apnea. They fall asleep within minutes (literally), experience daytime sleepiness, and often at unusual times like when they're just sitting still/quietly. Having two family members diagnosed with this recently, I hope Joe gets a check-up and someone mentions that trait to his doctor.
DeleteI had a baby who fell asleep in the high chair a few times. It wasn't a sign of parental neglect - it was a sign of a baby who played hard when it was time to play and then fell asleep when it was time to sit still. Please - if you have to look this hard for something to criticize, isn't it time to just admit that his parents did a good job?
Delete1:18 PM - BINGO. Our schedule was nap, wake up, play, eat, nap, etc... Sometimes they pooped out right after eating before you could get them into bed.
DeleteThere's no need to point out that she's not married. There's so much more to being a woman than being a wife.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I wonder if Jana doesn't marry because she's so close to her siblings and can't bear the thought of not having them under the same roof as her! Think about it - being the oldest daughter Ive no doubt she played a BIG part in raising them. I have 2 of my sisters that are 10 years apart and the oldest says she raised the younger one, and she did! My mom was I'll back then, whereas Michelle probably had her hands full with being pregnant, breastfeeding, taking care of the house, homeschooling, taking care of cooking, Jimbob... Yes, Jana would no doubt look at the siblings as "her kids"! I notice too that Jill is like that with Jennifer and Jessa is that way with Jordyn too! The ones they took care of and had in their " jurisdiction". No way could ANY supermom, nor Michelle take care of all those responsibilities alone.
ReplyDeleteThe thought has crossed my mind that Jana, being the eldest daughter, is under some kind of obligation to stay at home to help with the younger ones. Maybe 30 is the magic number. when she can find a husband and move out.
ReplyDeleteJana herself has said that she would like to be married, but wants to wait for God to bring the right man along. She has never mentioned waiting for a certain age, nor has she ever mentioned that she feels obligated to stay at home.
DeleteDo you know where Joe & Kendra went for their honeymoon and is there any truth to Jana courting Jacob Wilson, he is a friend of the Duggars, Bates and Austin Forsyth and was a groomsmen in Joy a e Austin Wedding? Thank you......K
