I was older than 19, but we kissed for the first time at our wedding and had a honeymoon baby. Not a dramatic transition at all. Quite natural, actually.
Can't you people just be happy for them if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!!!!! Ever heard of common courtesy? Apparently not!!!
The original comment was just an innocuous (harmless) statement of FACT, not even an opinion.
It's so bizarre how people get offended and post unkind replies.
What's the matter with some of you who just want to argue, argue, argue all the time with, your multiple exclamation points to make sure you drive your reprimand home?
What! Congratulations joy and Austin!!!! I think I remember one of austins friends saying he really wanted to be a husband and dad. It's nice to see a man with family goals! So happy for you both!
I've had my first child at 22 and I think it's the best age to have children. Your young and can keep up with them. It was right for me ☺ a child is always a blessing.
I am glad that at least one of these girls isn't rushing to start popping out babies before the ink is dry on the marriage certificate. Although I don't agree with Jeremys religious views he has lived in the real world and had experiences and seems to want Jinger to live a little and be a couple before bringing a baby into the world and Jinger has never looked happier.
Yeah, I agree with anonymous 2.49 pm. Me too I'm not a fan of their religious ideas, but J&J seem to be the more modern of all of them and it seems to be doing good for them.
I have to agree with you as well. Im and happy that they are taking this time to get to know each other better and enjoy this life as a married couple before bringing babies into it. Joy is only19 years old. Im sorry but a baby herself.
I am sure Jeremy and Jinger would love to have kids. For whatever reason, they haven't yet. Having children is part of the real world too,(without children there would be no population). They would make great parents!
Joy and Austin really wanted to have kids. I am sure they enjoy life just as a couple and I a know they will be even happier with children. Just because you have kids doesn't mean the end of your life or the end to spending time as husband and wife.Children are a part of living too , you know. Joy and Austin ARE LIVING their life the way they want.
8:22- Parenting is not for everyone. I think it entirely selfish to bring kids into the world if you do not have the means to provide them with a loving and happy home.
Anon 2;16, Whatever way you look at it, it is selfish to think that children are inconvenient or a restraint on life, just as (or as you say) it is selfish to have them if you don't have the means.
But all the Duggar girls are big right away. Jill was big at 8 weeks along, Jessa was also big at 3 months. Joy is probably 14 or 15 weeks along and maybe she's having a boy too! I guess due date will be Feb 23
Lots of people are making the same comment. She has always been fuller figured than most of her sisters, but to be three months along she really does look bigger.
Im sorry but I have to make the same comment. She has a fuller figure and larger hips than her sisters, so she should be showing much later rather than earlier than they did. Women with broad hips tend to have more room and don't stick out immediately.
I don't think it means anything.. at 9 months in my first pregnancy I barely look 5 months...and all of my other pregnancies after that were pretty much the same. I barely looked pregnant ! Everyone is different. š
Anonymous 3:12 I had a 7lb 13 oz preemie. He was 4 weeks early and perfectly calculated as we were tracking and charting etc. I got my positive test exactly the day my period was due. It's possible to have big babies that are preemie, had my son been full term he would have been almost 10 lbs. plus the digger girls have big babies, Jill's boys were both over 9 lbs ( almost 10 I think) so don't presume...
Very true about baby size varying with people. I had a family member give birth 3 weeks early but it was still a little over 8lbs. Unfortunately, the doctor warned her to correct her diet and she didn't. He said it would come a month early or she'd need a csection.
No, Unknown, if everyone waited to have babies until they were ready to support them and love them, the world would be a better place. Fewer abortions, fewer children waiting years to be adopted, less child abuse. No sadness there.
It is not sad! It is a wonderful blessing! They know who they are, they are children of the King! And they are following God's plan for their life and not "man's plan". God says in Isaiah 55:8-9
8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Too many Christians follow man's ways instead of God's ways.
Yes, thank you 10:37. God says to be fruitful and multiply. It is not sad to have babies, even at a young age. To those who think it is sad, do you think that GOD is sad when a little one is born?
Joy has always been a little bigger than her sisters. She lost a little weight before the wedding (possibly water weight) and looks the same. Y'all need to chillout
They went into their marriage with the goal of having children. Yes she is young but by the time I was her age I had 3 children.
She is aware of natural family planning and familar with her cycle. Im sure if it was a honeymoon baby that the wedding date was chosen to make that happy.
Congrats to both of them. I look forward to seeing your little one(s)
Congratulations Austin & Joy on your new bundle of joy! Austin & Joy you both are going to be wonderful parents! Children are a blessing from God, and God has blessed you both! I can't wait to see pictures of your new baby! Hope you have a safe & wonderful pregnancy & delivery! God Bless your entire family!
Has anyone thought that maybe she is pregnant with more than one baby?. Or maybe this is her body being pregnant. Everyone is different and yes she has always been a little bigger than her sisters. Leave them be if you have nothing nice or encouraging to say than dont speak at all.
Congrats Joy-anna and Austin. God has blessed you with a beautiful babe/babies. Love and guide them always to GOD.
Pretty soon we will hear that Jessa and Ben are expecting number three. Henry is over 6 months now. Then Joseph and Kendra after their marriage. And Jinger and Jeremy when they decide when and if they are going to have children. In another couple of years the number of Grand Duggars will exceed their 19 kids. They are just about half way there.
Not everyone's body responds the same way to being pregnant. And if she got pregnant on her honey moon, she could be as far as 14 weeks along, since you go back 2 weeks
Not any doubt baby will be loved by the huge family. These young people were so sheltered right up to marriage. Part of being a good parent is knowing what's going on in the world around you. These young people have no idea. I had three under 5 by the time I was 22. I loved them and was a great mama. But if I had one wish it would be that I could have matured and gotten comfortable in my own skin and waited a couple of years before starting our family. Children are a gift from God. But my God doesn't expect me to keep multiplying. He expected me to raise them well with so much love and guidance. We did. They are wonderful, loving, caring, productive middle agers. So good luck to these young people. They probably will be repeat Jim Bob's and micheles. Congrats on the baby
I wish she would have taken Jessa's (I think?) advice from the after show to just be a couple for a while. There is a huge difference between dating/spending a lot of time together and living together/being intimate. I wish they would have taken time to build a real relationship with each other and learn to be alone together, one day all those kids leave home and you will left with just the person you married. NFP is something the Duggars should start embracing. They are putting the future of their relationships in danger. Having a baby is hard and changes everything. Without a solid relationship behind it, they are setting themselves up for, at minimum, a lot of arguing and harder times than they have to have.
You make it sound like they won't be having any conversations or interaction for the next 25 years! Marriage is about growing TOGETHER. You have joys and challenges, and you learn trust through each one.
When you put another person's needs ahead of your own, it makes life worth living!
Wow, Anon 5:42. You don't have much faith in their relationship. Babies are not a hindrance to marriage. Babies are God's design and a part of married life. Life is a challenge and of course they will have difficult times, but no one said life is easy.
I agree about the waiting part. There's a big difference between couple time not pregnant and couple time during a pregnancy. Both Jesse and Jill have made comments about wishing they'd had more alone time before getting pregnant.
Geesh! Many couples have babies within the first year of their married life, and do just fine. All this scaremongering is just an excuse to put off having children. I dont know when babies and children came to be viewed as such burdens. Our children are the greatest joy of our lives, and seeing them grow up to be responsible, caring adults has given us the greatest sense of shared accomplishment. We love eachother more through the on-going efforts of raising a family.
Yes, Joy is the youngest Duggar to have a baby, including younger than brother-in-law Ben. Ben was 20 years 5.5 months when Spurgeon was born, and Joy will be approx 20 years 4 months when her baby is born.
Thanks for leaving your comments! We answer as many of your questions as we can, but due to the number of comments we receive daily, we are unable to answer every one. Our aim is to post all points of view, but we do not post anything that is profane, insulting, derogatory, or in poor taste.
Congratulations from Colorado!!
ReplyDeleteAnother honeymoon baby. Never been kissed to changing diapers in 9 months' time. And she's 19!
ReplyDeleteI agree, that is a dramatic transition to take place in one day. Never being alone with a boy to kissing to the wedding night. Poor kids.
DeleteI agree, what a shock for her. On one side she's been raised to do that, but still it must be dramatic.
DeleteI can't imagine. I would be scared to death by the whole thing.
DeleteI was older than 19, but we kissed for the first time at our wedding and had a honeymoon baby. Not a dramatic transition at all. Quite natural, actually.
DeleteIt's a lot of changes in a short amount of time.
DeleteLOL, she will do just fine. She is blessed!
DeleteCan't you people just be happy for them if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!!!!! Ever heard of common courtesy? Apparently not!!!
DeleteHer choice!!!! Not yours... I'm sure she's not telling you how to live your life.
DeleteThe original comment was just an innocuous (harmless) statement of FACT, not even an opinion.
DeleteIt's so bizarre how people get offended and post unkind replies.
What's the matter with some of you who just want to argue, argue, argue all the time with, your multiple exclamation points to make sure you drive your reprimand home?
Not exactly unexpected!
ReplyDeleteWhat! Congratulations joy and Austin!!!! I think I remember one of austins friends saying he really wanted to be a husband and dad. It's nice to see a man with family goals! So happy for you both!
ReplyDeleteWhoa!!
ReplyDeleteHow old is Joy?
ReplyDeleteShe will be 20 in October.
DeleteI've had my first child at 22 and I think it's the best age to have children. Your young and can keep up with them. It was right for me ☺ a child is always a blessing.
DeleteCongratulations Joy!!! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Joy and Austinš
ReplyDeleteI wish it were Jeremy and Jinger!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that at least one of these girls isn't rushing to start popping out babies before the ink is dry on the marriage certificate. Although I don't agree with Jeremys religious views he has lived in the real world and had experiences and seems to want Jinger to live a little and be a couple before bringing a baby into the world and Jinger has never looked happier.

DeleteWhy?
DeleteI have to agree with you as well. Im and happy that they are taking this time to get to know each other better and enjoy this life as a married couple before bringing babies into it.
DeleteJoy is only19 years old. Im sorry but a baby herself.
Jonger also started wearing modest pants since she got married. Really suits her and I'm glad she lives a little before starting a family
DeleteI am sure Jeremy and Jinger would love to have kids. For whatever reason, they haven't yet. Having children is part of the real world too,(without children there would be no population). They would make great parents!
DeleteChildren are a blessing and should not be looked upon a an "inconvenience"or nuscience" to life. People who think this way are selfish.
DeleteJoy and Austin really wanted to have kids. I am sure they enjoy life just as a couple and I a know they will be even happier with children. Just because you have kids doesn't mean the end of your life or the end to spending time as husband and wife.Children are a part of living too , you know. DeleteI HATE the expression "popping out kids". It's so disrespectful.
Delete8:22- Parenting is not for everyone. I think it entirely selfish to bring kids into the world if you do not have the means to provide them with a loving and happy home.
DeleteAnon 2:16 I believe it is up to God as to when to have kids. After all He orchestrates everything in our lives. God is provider for all our needs.
DeleteAnon 2;16, Whatever way you look at it, it is selfish to think that children are inconvenient or a restraint on life, just as (or as you say) it is selfish to have them if you don't have the means.
DeleteI wish it was michella bates
DeleteSOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSaw some pictures from People. She is absolutely huge for only being married in late May. Wish them the best.
ReplyDeleteRubbish
DeleteBut all the Duggar girls are big right away. Jill was big at 8 weeks along, Jessa was also big at 3 months. Joy is probably 14 or 15 weeks along and maybe she's having a boy too! I guess due date will be Feb 23
DeleteEllie, can you post comparison pics of Jill and Jessa, so that everyone can see they were the exact same size as Joy Anna and they'll stop speculating
DeleteWho knows there could be twins in there. Just saying....
DeleteYay! So happy for them! I was kinda guessing that would happen soon!š
ReplyDeleteI knew it!! I just knew it!!!!!!! Cheers to Joy and Austin!
ReplyDeleteThis is exciting news!
ReplyDeleteNow it's obvious why they moved up their wedding date. Joy-Anna's stomach looks like she's a lot farther along then just three months.
ReplyDeleteLots of people are making the same comment. She has always been fuller figured than most of her sisters, but to be three months along she really does look bigger.
DeleteMaybe she will Be the first to have multiples?
DeleteAre you saying that she might have a 9-pound "premature" baby?
DeleteI agree, she's showing a lot to only be less than three months pregnant.
DeleteIm sorry but I have to make the same comment. She has a fuller figure and larger hips than her sisters, so she should be showing much later rather than earlier than they did. Women with broad hips tend to have more room and don't stick out immediately.
DeleteWell, she got on the skin-tight top-stick-your-belly-out bandwagon very quickly.
DeleteVery rude to comment on the moving up their wedding date. People made the same rude comments about Jill's pregnancy so soon after her wedding.
DeleteI don't think it means anything.. at 9 months in my first pregnancy I barely look 5 months...and all of my other pregnancies after that were pretty much the same. I barely looked pregnant ! Everyone is different. š
Delete1:43 PM - Get your mind out of the gutter and stop spreading gossip unless you have FACTS. Every pregnant woman's body is different.

ReplyDeleteAll these kids having kids makes me sad :(
ReplyDeleteAgree. It is so bizarre.
DeleteThey have great role models and it sounds like it is something they want. Be sad all you want but you're wasting your time.
DeleteIf everyone felt sad because of babies, the world would be thinly populated. That is what would be sad.
DeleteIm sad too. They have no time to figure out who they are. Im not sure its how they want to live. I think its how they think they have to live.
DeleteThey are not kids and children are a blessing!
DeleteI couldn't agree more that they are great role models.
DeleteWell, they seem to be thrilled.
DeleteWhy are you sad? They probably have their life together more than you people!!!
DeleteNo, Unknown, if everyone waited to have babies until they were ready to support them and love them, the world would be a better place. Fewer abortions, fewer children waiting years to be adopted, less child abuse. No sadness there.

Deletewhat a joy to hear!!! congratulations !!! What a blessing from God,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your baby announcement,what a blessing...Jane
ReplyDeleteJoy has always been a little bigger than her sisters. She lost a little weight before the wedding (possibly water weight) and looks the same. Y'all need to chillout
ReplyDeleteWow! Well, most Commentors on here posted that they thought she was. Congrats to the couple :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! What a blessing!

Three children by 19? That isn't even legal to have happen in most places.
DeleteCongratulations Austin & Joy on your new bundle of joy! Austin & Joy you both are going to be wonderful parents! Children are a blessing from God, and God has blessed you both! ReplyDeleteJessa and Ben weren't trying to get pregnant with Henry, he was a surprise.
DeleteDefinitely 3 months already as we already knew you were pregnant because you gave it away at in the revisit show.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Joy and Austin xx
I was flat as a board at 14 weeks with my first. There's no way she's only 12 weeks along.
ReplyDeleteNot everyone's body responds the same way to being pregnant. And if she got pregnant on her honey moon, she could be as far as 14 weeks along, since you go back 2 weeks
DeleteGood for you but your body isn't the same as everyone else's. We all show are different times. Her sisters both showed early.
DeleteI was showing at 5 weeks but I'm a skinny one so it was absolutely obvious I was pregnant
