We had a busy day yesterday and were unable to post, but we want to wish Kendra Caldwell a very happy 19th birthday! She's a godly young lady who lights up the room with her smile. She and Joseph Duggar are counting down the days until they are husband and wife.

ReplyDeleteEllie the peoples comments on your blog are getting bad. It's gotten worse and now to the point where each time I look there are plenty new rude upsetting remarks. You used to spend more time sifting through and blocking the out right nasty comments, why not anymore?
ReplyDeleteIf you think about it, she's darned if she does, darned if she doesn't! Either she has people mad at her about her posting comments from all points of view, or she has people mad at her about her not posting their comments. I also think comments in general are just getting worse lately, not her failing to sift through them. Ellie, I love your blogs, and admire you for it. It can't be easy to read some of the nasty comments that are made about your friends. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to your friends and your readers!
DeleteEllie is doing a fantastic job. She has a degree in journalism and probably learn that you have to be fair. Most readers have a honest opinion from the heart and have a right to express it. Disagreeing with someone is not bad, just food for thought..Jane

ReplyDeleteY'all need to update the family banner to include Sam, Kendra and the 5th M kid. Maybe some more recent pics of the younger ones too as they're growing up fast.
ReplyDeleteOk. This is not aimed at you specifically, but I wish people would stop obsessing and harassing people about the family banner. It is painstaking work to create that, and at the rate the Duggars marry and have children, it's difficult to keep up. I would be willing to see the banner dropped if it would eliminate these petty complaints!
DeleteThe blog banner has grown to the point, with the rapidly expanding family, that Ellie and Lilly are looking for an outside person to manage that aspect. It will be updated as soon as they have everything worked out. :)

ReplyDeleteSeveral people on social media just about let the cat out of the bag that it's another Duggar. There was something big going on at Renee's, and also at an airport, with a certain pilot....
DeleteThe only other Duggar of marrying age who could be at a bridal shop is Jana, Kendra is still a Caldwell. Joe was seen on a domestic flight, but he shouldn't be seeing the dress before the wedding!
DeleteJoe was spotted flying a private plane, with TLC filming him take off......
DeleteIn one of the episodes prior to the After show, I think it might have been the one with Jessa giving birth to Henry, Si was asked if he was courting, his response was not no, it was not yet. Plus I don't think John is "seeing" anyone from Texas, Jinger and Jeremy live there. I think he is in a courtship with Laura DiMasie. Look at Joy's weeding. In 2 different instances he is near her. 1. When Laura comes out to get Joy while the guys are being pinned. Out of nowhere John walks in front of the camera after Laura when she headed back too. 2. He is standing with his Dad, Joe, Kendra and Laura and Austin's friend Aaron before Joe and Kendra got engaged. Check it out. I am thinking there is something there. We have never seen John in situations like that. I personally think that Jana is waiting for John to court and she has a guy waiting for her. They are so close, that she said she'd have to like the girl before John could court her. Laura has been a friend for a long time. Food for thought

ReplyDeleteI worry about the Duggar boys flying around in (used) planes, starting with the minimum of training and experience (not like they have any have military flying experience or training from a commercial airline). I sure hope whoever maintains these planes also has more experience than the Duggars got hanging around a garage, watching work done on cars. I really don't want to hear of any of them making the news someday because of a plane.
ReplyDeleteAviation mechanics is not something you 'tinker' with. I hope they pay trained mechanics to look after their planes and keep them air worthy.
DeleteMost private pilots belong to Flight Clubs which have mechanics on hand. The planes are well maintained. They may be used but so what?
DeletePlus, pilots also have a check list they have to go through every time they go flying. Part of the training is to know what to do if there is a problem in flight, like landing without power.
By the way, many commercial pilots actually get their start flying small private planes. You do not learn to fly on commercial jet planes.
Yes, accidents happen but theare far less than those involving cars.

Yes, there are a lot of people who marry young and have had successful marriages. Unfortunately, divorce rates are highest under the age of 25 and financial woes are one of the leading causes. There is a not-so-subtle message being sent by the Duggars that women should rely on a man to support her. Now if your husband has a reality TV show, this may work out for you. However, unexpected stuff happens to all of us: job loss, sickness or death of a spouse, divorce. A young woman is doing herself a favor, and any future children, by having the skills necessary to be financially independent before she considers getting married. This means having some kind of post-secondary training or education that would be leg-up in the job market. It stands to reason that maximizing your options is a good thing. A woman should never assume any man can or will support her indefinitely. I hope young Kendra has considered this.
ReplyDeleteI agree that a woman should know how to support herself in case something goes wrong, but I don't believe a woman should be career minded . I believe God has made women to take care of the home and nurture her children. People believe this to be narrow minded, I know, but we should really take a look at what God says about the role of woman and not make our own interpretation of it. I also know that there are exceptions because there are some God had called to be doctors and nurses, and there are families where there is no father to provide.
ReplyDeleteWhy does the URL for their Amazon registry say September 2017, but the date on the registry was put down (by the couple) as October 7, 2017? Their own registry may have given away their wedding date secret, at least which month.......
