Nope they don't at all look alike, different features.
ReplyDeleteBoth are very adorable. They look different from each other , but maybe they will look more similar later on. Very precious!
ReplyDeleteAw, Samuel's a cute little peanut! I don't think the two look alike. Samuel reminds me of both Jessa and Derick.
ReplyDeleteJill not Jessa wrong sister
DeleteJill?
DeleteNo, I meant Jessa. He resembles Jessa, not his mom Jill.
DeleteTracey and Anon a lot of people have been commenting that Samuel looks like Aunt Jessa, I think that is what original poster was referring to.
DeleteSamuel's hair appears to be darker. A little hard to tell at only a month, though.
ReplyDeleteI think they look very similar. Little Samuel looks so sweet.
ReplyDeleteThey have the same nose.
ReplyDeleteYes they do look a like at one month old
ReplyDeleteIsrael seemed to be a lot more chubbier lol!
ReplyDeleteThey look a lot alike outside of Samuel being darker.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they look alike at all but are both super cute. Samuel seems to have darker hair and skin.
ReplyDeleteNo, not really
ReplyDeleteSamuel looks like his aunt Jessa
ReplyDeleteLove the OSU!!! Cute sweet babies
ReplyDeleteThey do not look alike.
ReplyDeletesamuel is changing every time i see a picture of him he,s getting more lie his mummy now then his daddy
ReplyDeleteHi from Sharon in Chico, CA. I love your family. Samuel looks just like his daddy! What a precious little gift you have been blessed with. Both beautiful baby boys!
ReplyDeleteSamuel looks more like Derick - Israel is more Duggar. Both are adorable.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's just the angle of the camera and that there's not something wrong with his right foot. Hard to tell.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it's fine. I was looking at pictures of Henry in an earlier post, and his feet were a little "funny" looking in some of them too.
DeleteSamuel and Israel have very similar features ,the only difference is Israel has lighter hair and eyes.
ReplyDeleteSame nose, different eyes! They'll change so much over the year!
ReplyDeleteI don't think they favor a whole lot. Samuel does like like Jessa to me. My cousin looks more like my mom than I do. lol Samuel is a sweet looking little guy. Lots of hugs and kisses for him and for Israel.
ReplyDeleteNo, I do not see a whole lot of resemblance. Both are cute babies!
ReplyDeleteHis skin is darker
ReplyDeleteOh my! What a little cutie! Both boys are adorable.
ReplyDeleteBoth boys look a little alike. I love those onesies and Izzy's what we used to call "boxing gloves".Those things were a life saver(or face saver!) to keep the babies from scratching their faces.
ReplyDeleteSame nose.. Israel seems to be bigger. :)
ReplyDeleteSamuel looks like Jessa's Spurgeon
ReplyDeleteNoses look similar but that's it.
ReplyDeleteI think Sammy's hair is darker but their noses seem to be similar. Anyway, I think the first photo is absolutely precious. He's such a cutie.
ReplyDeleteThey are both such cuties.....Israel is so special to us because he looks just like our God son at that age. Our God son killed himself at 16 so seeing sweet Israel is like going back in time - a better time. God bless both these sweet boys.
ReplyDeleteCuties
ReplyDeleteThe nose is similar 😊 the rest appears different so far.
ReplyDeleteThey look different, only time will tell.
ReplyDeleteThey have different eyes but both have piggy noses like my youngest. So cute.
ReplyDeleteI always heard it called-- a pug nose,,,,,,? ? Different region,,,north,south-----who nose 😬😜 ❓
DeleteI think they look similar, kinda like "yeah, they're related", but I agree that it's too early to really question,
ReplyDeleteThey are both handsome boys! What is with the mittens? Wonder if it is to keep them from sucking their thumbs? I don't remember Jessa putting them on her kids.
ReplyDeleteTmayb so they don't scratch their faces ? 😬
DeleteThe mitts are to keep them from scratching their faces.
DeleteIt's to keep babies from scratching their faces :)
DeleteIt's to keep them from scratching themselves if their nails are not kept trimmed short.
DeleteSome people use them to keep very young infants from scratching themselves.
DeleteNewborns tend to scratch themselves with their fingernails which are very sharp! My first son scratched his little face and was bleeding from the scratch. The mittens protect the baby. It is hard to clip their fingernails when they are on little.
DeleteNo its time keep from scratching their faces. Those nails even trimmed can cause problems
DeleteKeep them from accidentally scratching their faces, but I never used them, I kept the nails trimmed.
DeleteI never used them, either. I didn't want them to have that feeling of being in mittens. I kept their nails trimmed and had no problems.
DeleteHas Sam lost weight? He was the same weight as Israel when born but looks a lot less plump.
ReplyDeleteAll newborn babies lose their birth weight. But normally gain the weight back within a couple of weeks. He could be taller and that makes him look not so big.
DeleteCould've been fluid retention from when jill had surgery the fluid goes to the baby. So they look chubbies than they actually are. Mine lost a whole pound because of that
DeleteSamuel will have to grow into good looks, Israel was a little cuter. They look very different. Samuel looks like he belongs to Jessa and Derick.
ReplyDeleteI actually feel just the opposite. Samuel is cute right out of the shoot.
DeleteNo, I don't think they look alike.
ReplyDeleteThey look like twin
ReplyDeleteI think they look just alike! I guess I see something different than others, but to me they are SO similar.
ReplyDeleteIsrael was adorable and Samuel is adorable too! Such little cuties! It does look Samuel's going to to have darker hair. I'm guessing he'll favor his daddy more. :)
ReplyDelete....Awfully quiet around here lately. Are you perhaps in Arkansas for a wedding?
ReplyDeleteKentucky for a dress fitting?
DeleteWhy would Ellie be at the dress fitting, she isn't the one getting married?
DeleteBoth have the same nose and features ,the only difference is Israel's hair is lighter.
ReplyDeletehe looks a lot more like Derrick
ReplyDeleteThey are very different! Samuel looks much smaller- he does have a cute button nose though.
ReplyDeleteSame eyes & lips! Beautiful boys!
ReplyDeleteSamuel is so precious.....I love the pic with blue shirt with elephant on it...
ReplyDeleteJust zoom in on that cute face...💕💙✨
Can't wait to see what Samuel looks like when he gets a bit older. Both boys are just adorable, could just squeeze them..Jane
ReplyDeleteSamuel definitely looks just like
ReplyDeleteAuntie Jessa!!!!
Question,
ReplyDeleteDid Jill get a page at PEOPLE magazine? Did I miss it?
3:36 I was wondering the same thing. I have not seen one. They did a big one when Jessa had her second child Henry.
DeleteI don't remember hearing about one. Something else was going on about that same time with the missionary "decision," so I don't think Derick wanted any interviews.
DeleteNo, no people interview. That also added to peoples curiosity because the Duggars always sell their story to People magazine. I think it was more because both Jill and Samuel were not well following the birth.
DeleteJessa looks like Michelle. I would say he looks like grandma more. More of his features from Jill's side, but he is absolutely precious. It's always too early to tell when they are so young. What a sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteJessa looks like Jim Bob's father. She has his facial features. So, this baby looks like a Duggar, since he resembles his aunt more.

DeleteI'm not wanting to seem to complain, but there seems to be so much talk of comparisons the moment a child comes into the world. How much he weighs or length or facial features as compared to everyone. Let's all celebrate our uniqueness and shun the constant comparisons to physical features. I feel it diminishes the great magnitude of God's handiwork. He created us all different with infinite possibilities of genome combinations and its so marvelous. This may be my soap box, sorry readers, but I hope you can see this point of view as well. A baby will always bear resemblance to mom or dad or grandparents or siblings because of genetics but is this all we can think of to talk about? And if we can go beyond this conversation then what can we say about a newborn that will really matter?...maybe earnest prayers over their life or time glorifying God for this great miracle of life that God could form this amazing child from just a seed and egg? Just an idea. I feel this may be a stumbling block and a consistently shallow perspective to always be focused on physical attributes, like whose nose he has, and other comparisons . I've said my peace. It's something I'm equally guilty of because I've done it too and I just often wonder why we as a society do this when God doesn't want us comparing ourselves one to another because its unwise. And it always bothers me when I have a new child and thats all people can talk about is who they look like, "who cares" it matters nothing at all who they look like. Who ARE THEY AND WHAT WILL THEY BECOME is what i'm curious to know.
ReplyDeleteAs an adoptive mother, I agree wholeheartedly! Appearance are inconsequential.
DeleteGood points, but there's not a lot else to comment on with a newborn than their physical features. :)
DeleteVery good points! For whatever reasons, there's a passive-aggressive competition among many when it comes to their kids. Comparing is the favorite way to accomplish this. I guess it makes some parents feel better if they can point out to others that their child stands out in some way- is at the top of the growth charts, looks just like Grandpa Ralph, is reading at age three, or scoring the most home runs in little league. I think it harms children in the long run to be compared to anyone, for any reason.
DeleteBRAVO! Great comment, and I agree.
DeleteI absolutely LOVE your comment and heartily second it! I too feel it's sort of like we're judging God's workmanship when we weigh one child or person against another. Maybe most people just don't stop to really think about that, but that is what we're doing when we compare. I think it's beyond amazing that each new human being is uniquely created (even "identical" twins have uniquely identifying physical and psychological aspects). If you think about how many people have been created in 4000 + years, that's mind boggling. Thank you for the beautiful reminder! I love seeing every new baby's personality emerge. We should be celebrating each one for who they are. <3
DeleteAnon 5:44, very well said! I too get tired of the constant comparisons. It gets a little tiresome.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they look similar, but it could be the angle. But both are as darling as can be.
