A Night of Love

Love is in the air this evening on a new episode of Counting On! While Jinger (Duggar) Vuolo shows her love from a distance by sending a care package to her family back in Arkansas, Jill, Derick and Israel Dillard look forward to a reunion with loved ones, as they prepare to travel back to Central America.

Later, Austin Forsyth proposes to the love of his life, Joy-Anna Duggar, and Joseph Duggar seeks the blessing of his future father-in-law before asking Kendra Caldwell to spice up her love life by beginning an official courtship. Now that's a lot of love!

Counting On, "Joy Gets Engaged," a one-hour episode, airs tonight at 9pm ET/8pm CT on TLC. Below is a promo video from People.com.

  1. Why would Jinger, the one away from home, be sending a "care package" to her family back at home? It's supposed to be the other way around. The family sends stuff from home to the person who can't be there and is far away. Makes no sense the other way around.

    1. Maybe she is sensing them things from her new home that they don't have in Ak.

    2. It was scripted content for the TV show. They wanted to film Jinger doing something at home, and since she doesn't do anything, they came up with that.

    3. I challenge you to ask yourself: "why not both ways?" I certainly hope that when I leave my family to be with my wife, whether 10 miles or 1000 miles away, that we all feel as if someone is missing. While this isn t a homesick care package it is a someone very dear to us is missing care package. I think it's very thoughtful of Jinger to do this.

      Blessings

    4. Care packages don't have to be stuff from home. And if the one away can afford it, it is not unusual for the one away to send things to show they love and are thinking about their loved ones.

    5. Sounds like she wanted to send a box of local stuff as a "Wow, look how weird everything is down here in another country" type of thing. (Although she's not in another country, technically, but only by a couple of miles.)

    6. I'm curious as to which role you have bestowed on yourself? Arw you the one in your family always receiving or giving the gifts? ( I imagine is the answer is " both"? I always thought the love was reciprocal? It is not any one side of the family or other that is "required" to send or receive the gifts. It's a mutual unconditional love expressed in whichever way either side wishes to express it.

    7. Guess you can buy things for your family and call it a care package. At least she is thinking about them. And cares about them

    8. I think it's a thoughtful gesture. Jinger has quite a few younger siblings at home and she likely just wanted to share with them a bit of her new community. I don't think there are any hard and fast rules for care packages.

    9. I don't think it's amusing to take iconic pieces of another culture in the US and send them home for the kids to marvel over, if that's what she's up to (clip doesn't play). She's in Texas, not Timbuktu!

Would you send a headdress and moccasins home if you visited an Indian reservation?

    10. Because a care package shows she cares?

    11. 5:09... Obviuosly you're trolling because your comment is beyond. I was going to write a lengthy reply but thought better of it. Jinger keep sending whatever "iconic" items your family might want to see from wherever you travel.

    12. 5:09 - Yes, if I visited an Indian reservation, I sure as heck would send home something representing that culture. And when I go to Hawaii, I buy gifts representing that culture. It's fun!!

    13. Wow, Jinger sent home Indian-style moccasins for Henry! Someone here is psychic, or knows the Duggars too well, lol!

    14. Why would anyone leave a comment so petty as this?! I do not get the trolls on this site. Sad and frustrating to the real fans. Something as inconsequential as one of the kids sending her family a care package gets a comment like this?! WOW - seems the Duggars can do nothing right in some people's eyes - then again if one is paid to troll this type of site and leave nasty comments then they are accomplishing their 'job'.

    15. Anon that's so funny what you said about sending things from other parts of the U.S. when I lived in Michigan, the upper peninsula was so full of Native American souvenirs, yup, brought some home for the family. You should get out more. The differences between some American states is so great, and varied! I mean, I never wore my bathing suit by the pool on Christmas Day in Michigan like I do in Florida! Big difference in lifestyle I had to adapt to. What in the world are you talking about? Have you ever been to Miami? Better brush up on your Spanish!

    17. Seriously @ 5:09PM?

    18. Well if you want wqtchee he show- you would know the answer. She wanted to share a little bit of Laredo with them. A care package shows you care. And she can care about her family and send them love gifts just as easy as they can reciprocate the love. Sad you've never known that kind of love or shown that kind of love. I feel sorry for you.

    19. These comments about a care package, either pro or con are pathetic! With all that is going on in the world you truly believe this deserves all the rants? Lily and Elie- you add to it by posting so many replies to the same statement. Jinger sent what she wanted to her family back home. I've done it for my sister across the country. No big deal!

  2. Says who? I'm retired military and I've sent many care packages home...to show I care.

    1. If you're retired military, then you of all people should know what the term "care package" connotes.

  3. I agree with you, 10:20AM...Jing should be receiving, not giving the package.

    1. Why are we criticizing Jinger for sending a gift package? I just don't understand the need to second guess what this family does all the time.

    2. Have half of the "Christians" on this blog forgotten," It is better to give than yo receive." ??????

    3. You're clearly more selfish than she is. The gift is in giving.

  4. Maybe it was for the little girls. I am the youngest and my sister still sends me things even though I live on my own.

  5. She is sharing a part of her new life with them.

  6. I think it is very thoughtful that Jinger is letting her family know that even though she has moved away and started her own life she loves them and is thinking about them.

  7. I think it's sweet how she wants to give her family a taste of what her new life/location entails.

  8. I think it's fun to give and receive care packages. Jinger misses her family I'm sure

  11. LOVED the sweet and simple way Austin proposed! Down home country people - love it! Austin and Joy are my new favorites - can't wait for Joy to become pregnant! God Bless them both!

  12. Her new life entails hair bows for some of her sisters? Doesn't make any sense to me. It was nice of her to want to send some gifts to them any how.

  13. Please change the word 'care package' in just 'package' makes more sense.

    1. Why? She sent the package to show that she cared about them.... so care package is appropriate.

    2. I'm offended by that term as much as you'd be offended by some other term. I had friends in Europe who, after WWII, were struggling to find food without the TRUE Care packages my family sent them. So to see the term used like this now, for a package of candy and masks and jewelry, offends me.

  14. In my family, we're only 45 minutes apart, but it's common to get or send something small in the mail merely for the sake of surprising the other person. I've mailed little inexpensive gifts, cards, and letters to my own child on occasion just to delight her when she gets the mail. It's not about how expensive the items are or aren't.

    1. But you don't call it a "care package," as if their lives depended on it...

  15. I love joy she's one of my favorite Duggars, but I have a feeling she wasn't Austins first choice . He asked his father about marriage three years ago and Joy was only 15 going on 16 So I doubt that's the Duggar girl he had in mind at that time . What do you guys think of that?
