Jennifer looks so grown up!!!
ReplyDeleteSo does Johanna. Johanna has grown just since Jinger's wedding pictures. They both are growing up.
DeleteI have always thought Jennifer was the most beautiful baby & little girl. She will be a stunning adult. . . .she also "seems" to have a gentle way about her\of course we do not know them well (day by day) but compared to spit-fire/tomboy Johannah she appears to be much more quiet - same as Jana.
DeleteWithout a doubt ALL the girls are lovely.
OH my - how many weddings will they be in as time goes by?
Joy, you are going to be living and working on a farm or a ranch. Time to start wearing jeans, girl!
ReplyDeleteThere is a photo somewhere on this blog from 2015 of Joy wearing blue jeans.
DeleteI she knows if she should wear jeans or not!!!
DeleteMaybe if she chooses. I have been doing it in a skirt! 😊
Delete@ Jola Mochoge
DeleteSame! you can do anything in a skirt! :-)
I doubt Austin will permit it; he strikes me we overly traditional and controlling.
DeleteGorgeous!! Gorgeous wedding!!!! From Maine 😁
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the pictures! So beautiful
ReplyDeleteJoy made a beautiful bride! Austin's letter to her was so sweet. I hope they have many years togethet. Thanks ladies for posting these pictures us.
ReplyDeleteHis letter to her should have been private. It cheapens it by putting it out there for worldwide viewing.
DeleteI disagree. I have a letter from my husband that is framed and out in display. There's.absolutley nothing wrong with the fact that they shared the letter. I think it's sweet.
DeleteI disagree. I have a letter from my husband that is framed on out on display. I think it's sweet. There's absolutely nothing wrong with sharing it.
DeleteThat letter should have been kept PRIVATE. There is no need for the public to have access to this "heartfelt" message. That should have been for Joy's eyes only. Is nothing sacred in this family when it comes to privacy?
ReplyDeleteKinda looks like it's at the wedding. That means she probably wanted people to see it. We wouldn't be seeing it if she wanted it to be private.
DeleteMy thoughts exactly!!!! Keep it private!!!!!!!
DeleteIf the ceremony is shared with family and friends why shouldn't this letter also be shared? It is obviously a day to wed publicly ie making vows before God, the spouse and a lot of witnesses. Sharing ones heart, declaring ones love, committing to it all very openly .... is the point of the ceremony that is the focus of a wedding day!
DeleteMaybe it was Austin and Joy's decision? They love each other and they want to share that with the world, and that is beautiful ^_^
DeleteI agree...that beautiful letter was written from husband to bride...not for everyone to read. One day Austin will regret that everyone read that letter. What a shame.
DeleteI totally agree with you. How much more meaningful this would be to Joy if as you say it was for her eyes only. It almost looks like he is tryin too hard to convince people that he really loves her. To answer your final question, it would appear not unless it suits them.
DeleteI agree on this one.
DeleteAnd why should it have been kept private? Joy is obviously impressed with the note from Austin and wanted to share it,hasn't your husband ever done something for you that you shared with people???
DeleteAgreed, 6:38. Some things are meant to be between husband and wife, period. I don't like it that the letter was shared. What were they trying to prove by releasing it?
DeleteI agree. The letter was so overly saccharine anyway. The public does not need to see that.
DeleteThat's what I don't understand. The whole family does it, if I wrote a note, letter or even a card to my husband I don't share it with my family. It's for my husband eyes only. Anything for hype and advertisement. The love and private message was lost just by displaying it.
DeleteSadly, the letter causes more suspicion of being written specifically with the intent for everyone's eyes to garner more interest in this couple--to gain more fame and TLC time. It has been cheapend by displaying it for all to see.
DeleteThe way the letter is arranged with all of the flowers around it, maybe he put it in the reception area where everyone could see. If he had it put in the room where she was getting ready and placed all of those flowers around it, then I would have taken pictures of it too and shown it off. Either way it was very sweet and very thoughtfully done. There is nothing too personal in the letter that can't be read by others.
DeleteI actually do not think that latter was particularly personal or intimate, and therefore, I do not have an issue with it being shared. It could easily be summarizes as follows:
Delete1. He is grateful to God for bringing them together.
2. He is grateful that Joy is a Godly woman and that they will have a Godly marriage.
3. He loves her and is looking forward to marriage.
4. He also likes a few things about her personality.
The only information that is surprising and/or that we have not heard before are the personality traits he likes about her. It good to know that in addition to her being Godly, beautiful, and good with children, he also likes that she is “fun, enthusiastic, adventurous, and always willing to try new things.”
That is actually the only statement I have heard from him so far that sounds genuine and unscripted. I do hope their personal conversations with each other are deeper in conveying their thoughts and emotions. (Of course, I understand why those same deep thoughts may not be something that is shared with the public.)
Whatever the reason, someone could have at least corrected the spelling and punctuation!
DeleteIt's their letter. They chose to make it public. End of story.
DeleteLol it was a sweet letter that she wanted to share. nothing inappropriate so what's the big deal? I'm pretty sure it's just personal preference
DeleteSo cute photos of Joy and Austin. TLC announced that Dillon and Amy King will have a special on June 19th!
ReplyDeleteCommence the hateful comments!
DeleteAfter that Marriage Boot Camp fiasco, what else do they have to say? That the show was edited to make them look bad? If so, it succeeded.
DeleteUgh, really?
DeleteMaybe they are expecting!
DeleteNOT INTERESTED!!!
DeleteYou are all so forgiving of Josh, cousin Amy is also a member of the family she deserves to be treated as such also. So unchristian of y'all.
Deleteoh my goodness! IT WAS BEUATIFUL!! And I can't believe how grown up Johannah looks!
ReplyDeleteDid Austin have all of those me as his groomsmen? That's a lot! ;-)
I can't get over the décor! Love it!!
I spot Carlin Bates in the bottom right corner of the second to last photo
ReplyDeleteGood eyes, yes she was one of the attendants on Joy's side. There were 12 ladies on Joy's side, some not yet pictured on this blog in the wedding pics so far.
DeleteBeautiful!!! I was surprised that Carlin wasn't chosen to be a bridesmaid? No flower girls?
ReplyDeleteI think Carlin was a bridesmaid - if you look closely at the penultimate photo, it looks like her on the bottom right?
DeleteI think the released photo of Joy and 'all' her bridesmaids may just be with her sisters and sisters-in-law. Also, all the bridesmaids and groomsmen seemed paired up, so it would make sense for her to have more bridesmaids when Austin has so many groomsmen.
I think she may have been. Austin had 12 (or 13 - not sure if the young boy is a groomsmen or ring bearer)groomsmen, and since the attendants are standing in pairs during the ceremony, I doubt there are less bridesmaids. Also, if you read the caption underneath the photo, it says Joy and eight of her bridesmaids - which gives me the impression that there are more. And, if you look at the picture of the ceremony, there's a girl in the bottom right corner that looks a lot like Carlin. I am kind of wondering why they haven't posted a photo of all of Joy's bridesmaids though...
DeleteCarlin was in the bridal party as was Sierra and Austins sister.
DeleteBeautiful wedding! Beautiful bride! Can't wait until Monday!
ReplyDeletebeautiful pictures .Everyone looks so happy and well !
ReplyDeleteAnna looks ready to deliver any day.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing! She looks as far along as Jill! Perhaps they are both due around same time! And its neat they are both carrying boys!
DeleteI thought the same thing. I wish Anna was on the show more. She is so sweet, and I am sure she does a lot with the girls.
DeleteSince when does a season premiere mean you can sell your most intimate thoughts written to your wife on your wedding day? Joy, Austin, and TLC should all be ashamed for sharing that!
ReplyDeleteDid they publish on people magazine?
DeleteI thought they just shared her.
Either way it was a lovely gesture to express sincere commitment.
I hope they earn money quickly to build their forever home.
I also hope they can have some privacy.
When I saw the letter, I was thinking that I would not have allowed anyone to take a picture of a letter like that, but I'm a pretty private person. His letter wasn't so terribly personal and private that they should be "ashamed" of sharing it, however. It's a testament to what Austen thinks of Joy, and is similar to something he might say when giving a toast.
DeleteDon't sweat it! It's their business Perhaps Joy is so proud of the letter that she wanted to share it Her wedding, her wishes.
DeleteI didn't even want to read it. It was too personal. It's weird reading other people's letters.
DeleteI didn't read it, either.
DeleteSomeone should have at least proofread it first before allowing it to be published.
DeleteIf you don't want to know what it says, DON'T READ IT!!
DeleteI'm eager to see Joy-Anna and Austin's wedding. I like to watch weddings, especially when I don't have to get all dress up. The Duggar family are truly a blessing.....Jane
ReplyDeleteOne of those guys is trying to kiss Austin.
ReplyDeleteThat is his brother-in-law, and I assure you, it's in jest. :)
DeleteThat's as disturbing as when David Waller and Josh mud wrestled.
DeleteIts his brother in law I believe, and its staged for humourous effect.
DeleteIf your married.. your wedding must have been really boring. The picture shows love and fun and humor. There's a picture at my wedding with my 9 brothers picking me up and running out of the church. All to tease my husband. It's one of my favorite photos and greatest memories. Good grief. Can this family do anything right!?!?
DeleteWhy wasn't Austins sister a brides maid?
ReplyDeleteWhy would she?
DeletePossible Joy doesn't know her well.
That one photo of the guys goofing off was cute. I'm guessing the elder of the group is his grandfather.
That picture doesn't show all the attendants.
DeleteI think there were more bridesmaids and this pic was just the sisters and sisters-in-law/
DeleteAustins sister was a bridesmaid, so were Sierra and Carlin Bates. There is a really lovely picture of the whole bridal party, and one of Joy and all her attendants
DeleteShe was
DeleteShe was. When more pictures come on this blog you will see that Carlin Bates is one of them as well as Austin's Sister, and even the blonde lady that was always helping with wedding planning and decorating their house and etc. I think her name is Sierra ? All total there were 12 attendants on Joy-Anna's side in the wedding.
DeleteGORGEOUS!!! The colors are stunning!
ReplyDeleteWhat was the venue? It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSo happy for Joy and Austin, but I can't help but wonder (and hope!) if Jinger is hiding a baby bump behind Jill???
ReplyDeleteThat's what my first thought was!
DeleteGood question..she seems to be the only one hiding like that. Who knows lol guess we find out IF they air that anytime soon.
DeleteI definitely agree.
DeleteDidn't you see the congrats video of Jinger? She is as flat as a board. Doesn't mean she's not pregnant but definitely not hiding a baby bump
DeleteI really like the colors. Johanna is so pretty.
DeleteJill J.- They've been married such a short time. I'm sure they do not need outside pressure to start a family.
DeleteIn Duggar time; they've been married a long time!
DeleteNot trying to start rumors here, but if they didn't want fans to be suspicious of pregnancies or want to feed/fuel rumors, they really shouldn't start hiding Jinger practically behind Jill or have been shooting Anna months ago either always holding a baby/behind something/or head shots only. It feels like they do this kind of thing to either increase speculation to raise ratings or to ensure a big People payout with an "exclusive". Yes, it's a great "businessman's move", but not a great example of Christianity (honesty and integrity-wise). I sincerely hope that's not the reason Jinger's literally standing behind Jill. with
DeleteAnon @ 8:59. What I find disturbing is exactly all the speculation from fans everytime they see a picture of Jinger. The photograh you refer to has all the girls standing close together and behind one and other, by your statement Kendra is hiding behind Jessa and Hannie is behind Jinger, are they pregnant too? The fans cause most of the speculation themselves often where there is none. These young ladies do not have to share anything with anyone unless they wish to do so.
DeleteAnonymous @4:03- Actually, if you look at the picture, Jinger is literally standing behind Jill with only one leg and foot showing. There's no reason to crowd the girls on her side of the picture as there is plenty of room to the right of Anna. The girls are obviously not equally and symmetrically placed on both sides o the bride (which is extremely critical to any professional photographer, particularly in capturing the wedding party). There's no way the photographer could not have seen that and been unaware of it. I'm not saying Jinger's pregnant or hiding a baby bump, but it was not a crowding issue to "fit everyone in". No, the fans do not cause speculation; the Duggar ladies and TLC do with little "tricks" like this to increase specualtion = increased ratings. It's a long standing, well-established, well-documented industry practice. Anyone who's watched the Duggars for a long time knows that when they start going exclusively to head shots or hiding the girls midsection behind things (van doors, counter tops, tables, etc.), something's up.
DeleteMaybe the picture wasn't taken by professional photographer ,
DeleteMaybe Jeremy or anyone snapped a pic of the sisters ❗️
June 11. 3:07- here's my response. Who cares. Curiosity killed the cat. If they chose to do it to "spike" ratings, then good for them. If it was an accident or by happenstance- good for them. When they are ready to announce whatever they want to announce, Duggar fans will have their answers. Everyone is so anxious to get the scoop that they can't even just enjoy the moment. Everyone is constantly looking for the next thing to celebrate or gossip about. Like Jill and jessa- no doubt there will be an announcement. If for no other reason, publicity. So use this opportunity to run down Austins letter, complain about Jill's shoes and how big Anna is, how the wedding was too big, how Josh is or isnt in pictures, they chose a horrible place or are lying about their honeymoon. When Jinger announces she is pregnant, you all can complain about that then.
DeleteThank you for sharing the photos. I'm glad everyone had a blessed day to celebrate the marriage.
ReplyDeleteWishing them all the best and hope Austin can build their home before Christmas.
I also hope they can have some privacy and not have to bunk up with family.
Their venue is gorgeous!!! Joy is a beautiful bride. I love the bridesmaids' flowers with the navy blue.
ReplyDeleteWow! Best looking, coordinated wedding party out of all the Duggar weddings!! Great job Joy in picking out the dresses and color scheme. It looks BEAUTIFUL!!! Best coordinated by far!
ReplyDeleteThe caption says "eight of her bridesmaids," implying that she had more than eight. Beautiful wedding, love the colors.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the décor of the altar! It is so unique and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the wedding! These two, Joy and Austin, are my two favorites.
ReplyDeleteNot a very well made maternity dress on Jill the way its shorter in de front.
ReplyDeleteMaybe for Kendra and Joes wedding you can volunteer to make hers.
DeleteI don't find the letter heartfelt or romantic. It's full of Duggar-speak cliches and a listing of some of Joy's traits. This reads like a letter between two people who really don't know each other very well. And why publish it here? This family is truly bizarre.
ReplyDeleteLet me help you out... I know this is complicated- Dont read the blog. Wait, it wasn't as complicated as I thought. Must just be you.
DeleteThat one guy is trying to kiss Austin. Not a great picture to broadcast, given the family values this crowd holds.
ReplyDeleteHis not actually trying to kiss him, its a joke for a picture
DeleteI think that's a fun picture. It certainly shows a playful side to Austin, that he's not just all work and no play.
DeleteYeah..strange picture for sure. Even as a "joke" it's not funny.
DeleteAre you for real? They are just goofing around!
DeleteGet over it maybe as Christians they don't have perverted minds and it's seen as the light hearted fun it is... when I was courting two friends of ours used to wind us up pretending to hold hands etc behind us (they were brothers by the way) and it was nothing but light hearted fun 😂 The kiss here is of a similar nature so get a sense of humour!
DeleteFirst and probably the last time you'll ever see anything like that on a Duggar blog! Even if they were "just fooling around," it's not exactly a Duggar type image.
DeleteI don't think that acting like that is the least bit funny, especially given the company they're in.
DeleteAnon @ 8:49 were you also offended by the ontrageous sight of the boys argyle sock clad ankles? Lighten up a wedding needs some light relief, just to ease the nerves.
DeleteIt's not funny because of the families involved. I am a Christian who has a true heart of compassion and have worked with the homosexual population. First, they are human beings like the rest of us. Their sin is no greater than anyone else. They have a "bend or stronghold" if you will toward same sex attraction. If any of you have sat with a gay person weeping while you talk them out of suicide because they would do anything to stop the pain and hatred they feel about themselves and receive from Christians you would not find this funny either. These families have made it very, very clear how they feel about gay people. So why would they think it's funny anyway? Would anyone on here find it funny if "for laughs and lightheartedness" they showed a picture of Josh pretending to kiss another woman? No. I don't think so. The visual in this picture is just as harmful to those truly struggling with this bend. Not funny.
DeleteRelax people. It is just a joke as well as the letter is 'just a letter'. (Does an eyeroll)
DeleteI know it's a joke, but I wonder if they are okay with joking in pictures about other stuff they consider taboo.
DeleteLook at all the other guys... They are all making faces. Someone commented below that it is his brother-in-law, so obviously he was just goofing around. If they were facing each other, then that would be quite odd.
Delete1:08 PM - Great points, and I'm so sorry to hear what these people go through. We all have our struggles.
DeleteAnonymous at 1:08- Thank you for sharing that perspective. You're seeing through God's eyes. Beautiful perspective.
DeleteNot to make a huge deal out of this: Austin's brother-in-law thought he was being funny and we've all done things we thought/meant to be funny only to find after a little thought that maybe they really weren't. These young men are just that, young, and sometimes young people don't fully think things through behavior-wise (sometimes us "olders" don't either). If the photographer asked them all to "act crazy/silly"- few would find it funny if they portrayed mocking someone handicapped or someone snorting cocaine/shooting heroin/kissing someone's wife/flashing gang signs. So why is pretending a homosexual behavior considered funny and acceptable? Just something to think about.
Probably homosexual behavior---
Deletewas the farthest thing from his thoughts ,,,,
he was being silly...that's all...having fun...
Some people need to cool their jets ,,,,,,,and not jump to conclusions....
What a ridiculous response. There was nothing homosexual about this picture. I can't even imagine what your wedding was like. They were PLAYING AROUND FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. They weren't making fun of anyone- they were HAVING FUN!!!! And the cocaine comment- are you for real???? Are you really making that comparison?? Just ridiculous. Absurd.
DeleteEveryone looks great. Joy is very young, but she did make a beautiful bride. In an upcoming post, I would love to see some side-by-side pictures of Jill's pregnancy this time compared to her first pregnancy...bump comparisons!
ReplyDeleteYep, Jinger still wins for classiest Duggar wedding. By a mile.
ReplyDeleteIt's a contest?
DeleteNo contest at all.
DeleteNo, but she still wins lol!
DeleteLoved Jingers look! The dress, hair, everything!
DeleteThe man trying to kiss Austin is his brother in law. They are all having fun in this photo. Lily and Ellie why are my comments on this blog and Ellie's blog never posted anymore? Eileen
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen,
DeleteI enjoy your comments and haven't deleted any. Haven't seen many from you in a while. :)
Ellie
Congratulations! May God Bless You Both !
DeleteHe Eileen. comments don't usually post right away. When I see a new article come up, I usually check for my comments or responses to them :)
Delete6/8 @8:51...I don't think requesting those photos for your comparison is very modest of you. Not a good idea.
ReplyDeleteJohannah looks so old! Jenny too! I remember when Johannah was a toddler!!
ReplyDeletePlease address this on your blog: the Duggar girls claim they are suing several entities to help protect children's rights but now their brother Josh is adding his name to their lawsuit? Exactly how does this help victims of abuse considering he was their abuser? This is sounds more like a money ploy and much less like they want to help others. More insight would be helpful.
ReplyDeleteI wondered that, too, how you do something terrible to people and then join in a lawsuit with your victims, claiming you were embarrassed or lost money because what you did was discovered by the public via public records, when you were not a minor any more and neither were your parents. It doesn't make much sense, does it?
DeleteAnon @ 2.30. My thoughts exactly. The girls issued a statement saying they were doing this to protect other children, but in my opinion they are sending out a very mixed message by allowing Josh to intervene in their lawsuit. He abused them, but he feels upset that they got sympathy but he didn't, and deserves some of the payout if they win? Incredible, I can't even wrap my head around his thinking. I would like to hear what the sisters actually think about this. Personally I'm disgusted.
DeleteBecause he wasn't a minor anymore, are you saying it is ok to release what happened when he was a young teen? Then why are juvenile records sealed in this country? A lot of teens have made bad choices. They already have to live with the consequences of those decisions. They shouldn't have to worry about the world knowing what they did before they were adults.
DeleteLily and Ellie I really think you need to address this issue with a post like you did with the sisters lawsuit. I realise you are friends with the duggars and may not want to offend them but Josh's lawsuit appears to be being ignored, but occassionally a post like this pops up in an unrelated blog post. I think it shows there is a lot of strong opinions about this out there and it needs to be out in the open.
DeleteHAD a report been taken when he did what he did as a teen, that could have been sealed. Their mistake was not going to the police until they were "outed" by an anonymous person before appearing on Oprah. By then, Josh was over 18. His parents names could not be redacted because they were adults. No way to keep identifying information private at that point.
DeleteSo beautiful 😍
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Bride and Handsome Groom! Just out of curiosity I have noticed all sisters have received a solitaire for their engagement ring. I have sold bridal sets for many years as I am GIA certified and that's my industry. The reason I bring it up is very seldom do sisters all have the exact same taste in their wedding rings. Are the girls not allowed to have input into what they want? Are they told to just be content with whatever their finances pick out? Many couples today shop for the ring together and it's a lovely experience. She has freedom ( I'm always respectful of budgets) to really try on many styles, and he feels relieved he's getting what she wants. Now I love a classic solitaire, but surely at least one of the girls may have liked a halo style, or pave diamonds, or vintage inspired, or even something a bit different such as a sapphire and diamonds?? I'm truly not judging. I'm just genuinely curious. Anyway, blessings to the new bride and groom!!
ReplyDeleteThe boys have taken Jim Bob along, and if it's good enough for Jim Bob, it's good enough for his daughters. Personally, I wouldn't want my father picking out my engagement ring! He wouldn't know a diamond from a piece of broken Coke bottle, and would think solitaire was a card game.
Delete5pm - that's not true, Ben himself designed the engagement & wedding ring for Jessa which I think is so unique & special - Jim Bob had nothing to do.
Deletewith it.
My father in law helped my husband pick out my ring. And it's beautiful. Not all brides are a part of the ring selection.
DeleteJohannah looks so grown up!!! Love the pics!❤️
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wedding and it looks like they had fun too. The letter was precious, while personal it looks like it was presented to be viewed snd who knows maybe they wrote one for each other as part of their special day. The pic of the guys goofing around is them having fun...yes Christians can have fun. Best wishes to the new couple!
ReplyDeleteThe Bridesmaids dresses are classic and simple- Beautiful! I loved Joy's simple, flowing hair style as well- Beautiful bride! Just a personal preference, but I'll take classically understated over glitzy glamour any day. It suited Joy's personality very well.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors, the dresses, and the way the guys' suits blended with Austin's. So pretty!! I love the backdrop!! Joy just gave Jinger a run for her money in best Duggar wedding coordination! Love it so much!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the wedding! It looked beautiful! Austin's letter is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteHoly moly! Johannah is so grown up looking :0
ReplyDelete6/8 @2:53PM...Yay, another GIA person. I worked in the NY lab some years ago and still love the industry.
ReplyDeleteI have wondered myself about why the girls had no experience picking out their ring their guys also.
i see the duggar family are as fashionable as ever dresses ok bit dull and boring but what is it with the brown sandals could be worse could be the brown boots they are all so fond of wearing
ReplyDeleteWhere was Josie? Didn't see her in any picture or in the episodes.
ReplyDeleteNice to hear them recite their own vows; I'm surprised they are the first Duggar to do so.
ReplyDeleteHope that Joy keeps her spirit and sense of fun, it broke my heart to see her so focused on what Austin might like as opposed to her own thoughts. I pray for her every night, as I worry that she will become a drudge with no spirit and sense of fun. I am not sure Austin will care for her as he should, so I will continue to pray that he sees what a jewel he has.
