It's no secret that Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell are engaged. Joseph popped the question during Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth's wedding reception, and Kendra said yes!
Kendra shared a statement with People Magazine: “I’m so happy and so shocked. There’s so many words I want to say, but just shocked. I had absolutely no idea. He had the ring in his pocket so when I went to go help myself and grab mints out of his pocket, he grabbed at his pocket and I pulled my hand away. But then I quickly forgot about it.”
The newly engaged couple, ages 22 and 18, say they are considering an autumn wedding.

She was grabbing mints out of his pocket? Lol
ReplyDeleteThat's cute! Lol
HaHa. I thought the same thing!
DeleteRight? Kind of a surprising thing to hear from a conservative couple with strict personal boundaries.
DeleteAt first I thought she meant his pant pocket - which could be pretty scandalous for a duggar!! I'd be willing to bet it was his shirt pocket. lol
DeleteMe too! LOL
Deleteagreed lol
DeleteI'd venture to say we have some new rules in courting! I don't think any of the girls would have done something like that previously. It's nice to see the courting rules a little more relaxed. You can still get to know someone without being intimate. They're a sweet couple and I hope they can get to know each other without the tight constraints the parents are always putting on them!
DeleteI thought the same thing too! They aren't really suppose to be touching each other before engagement. I find it odd, that she would be reaching into his pockets! And for mints? I wonder if these two have already shared a kiss. Not that there is anything wrong with that! I would say, Congratulations! You did it your way. The way you felt was best for you.( Aww...they are sweet!).
DeleteI am sure it was his shirt pocket. There is nothing scandalous about a shirt pocket. Men's dress shirts have their pockets on their chests. It could have been the pocket on his suit coat.
DeleteOh come on, of course she knew, TLC and People mag focusing on them at the wedding was a give away. Mints in the pocket, very funny. Why would people who cant even hold hands be helping themselves to a guy's pocket. If he didn't want her to know why did he have the ring in the same pocket as the mints? She knew which pocket the mints were in. Someone's telling porky pies :)
DeleteMaybe it was his suit coat pocket, and it was hanging on a chair, not on him, at the time?
DeleteI'm sure it was his suit coat pocket! She was not reaching into his pants! Lol
DeleteI see lots and lots of wedding stuff to detract from this family's legal issues that are coming to a head. We all know about them, so why not report on what's factually going on with both of them.
ReplyDeleteAgree, its all over the internet. Time to stop with old news and cover what is actually happening now.
DeleteI agree. Are we not going to talk about the elephant in the room?
DeleteYou have been reading the National Eanquirer.....there us going to be a law suit it's the City that released the info that needs to be concerned. Be positive about and fir the Duggars or take your negativity elsewhere!
DeleteLegal issues can take YEARS to resolve, and the tediousness of all the back and forth lawyer to lawyer, court to court stuff is best left to run in the background, until an end result is reached. In the meantime we can certainly enjoy more interesting things like courtships, engagements and weddings.
DeleteWow! Kendra and Joe have legal problems? The things you hear from untrustworthy news sources. Tsk,tsk.
DeletePersonally, I think it inappropriate for the case to be posted here until the case(if there really is a case with Josh) is over and done with.
DeleteDont need a lot of gossip and false information coming through.
What legal issues?
DeleteAnon at 5:27 are you asking because you want to know how to pray for them? If that's the case, any allowable information will get posted here. And I didn't know (according to you) Joseph and Kendra were having legal troubles.
DeletePerhaps the family are being wise to not give permission to post about it if it really is true about any legal troubles. The best thing to do is pray for them.
This comment is malicious an defamatory. Why is it allowed?
DeletePlease find better things to do than come on this blog with hate and spin. Not a Duggar fan - then just don't come to a DUGGAR FAN SITE!
DeleteMaybe because it's not our business?
DeleteMaybe they don't want it out, it's non of our business. Maybe their lawyer doesn't want them to share!!
DeleteThis article is about what is going on with them. What exactly is it that you want brought up?
DeleteWhy not let them deal with their legal issues and let them live their lives? No one is perfect and all families have skeletons in their closets. They don't need everyone in their business. It appears that they dealt with it. Leave those people alone. It's between God and them!!!
DeleteIt's possible that HAPPINESS outweighs the sadness for this family! If ALL you want to hear is the negative things about this family, than you need a lot of prayers to heal your hurtful heart.
DeleteThe family doesn't have legal issues. One person does. Leave him to deal with it. You are not a party to the case. Just because you are nosy, doesn't make it your business.
DeleteThey did a blog post to inform us about the lawsuit several posts back....
DeleteExactly. There are a lot of rumors and speculation. Would be nice to hear from the family what's going on. They made sure to publicly post about the 4 daughters suing but what josh and his lawsuits? ( identity theft, etc)I also heard josh wants to be included with his sisters and receive compensation for his emotional grief that the release of the redacted police report caused him... but that info came from a rag mag so no telling if there is an ounce of truth to it.
DeleteA fall wedding would be perfect!! Just in time to get new material for a new season. I would imagine a Duggar son wedding would bring in more ratings since there's been 4 daughter weddings back to back. Would be intersting to see another son walk down the isle
Delete? I don't know what you're talking about. I haven't heard about any legal issues since the stuff with Josh.
DeleteThere isn't any legal issues unless you know them personally. Stop believing everything you read online.
DeleteIf this was not true the family would have come out by now to deny, but to date radio silence. They are good at posting at any other time, why not confirm or deny?
DeleteIt was probably his suit coat pocket
DeleteAnon @ 4.53 Josh is due in court later this month for stealing another mans identity so he could cheat on his wife. The girls filed their lawsuit a couple of weeks ago and Joshs lawyer filed an intervention to the girls suit on friday. All if these matters are in black and white in legal documents. While they might have been reported online and in magazines but they are available to read. Not everyone takes what they read online as fact without checking it!
DeleteHasn't anyone wondered why Anna didn't also file in that lawsuit? Wasn't she as "embarrassed" as Josh? Why isn't she allowed to sue, but he and the sisters are?
DeleteNo I didnt wonder. Why would you think she isn't allowed to sue?
DeleteI love this family and am so happy for all of them. "Legal" issues or not they are a great, God-fearing family. If you're not then you need to watch more of what they put forth and listen. A forgiving family with large hearts. Good luck Joe and Kendra!!! SideXXX
DeleteAww.....what a cute couple.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad they are both happy and it seems they compliment each other personality. That's important for the life commitment.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure no matter when the big day is that it will be just lovely.
Wishing them the best for their future together.
How many times can we hear the same quote and pretend this is new? I want to like the Duggars but this is like watching CNN, the same same story being recycled over and over and over. The Bates do a better job. Way more interesting and the family has depth.
ReplyDeleteBut you made the decision to click on the blog in the first place.
DeleteUgh...dont insult the Duggars by comparing them to CNN!! Fake News Network! I understand what you're saying but ...CNN?? That's just wrong!
DeleteI think there's a typo in that 11:01 post. I think it was supposed to read "FOX" not CNN when it was talking about faux news.
DeleteAs is Fox news, and Josh's new lawsuit is plastered all over their website!
DeleteNO -- Fox News doesn't stage fake protests like CNN has been caught doing (and recently). Check it out.
DeleteJosh joining the Duggar girls' lawsuit is neither rumor/fales information/defamatory/gossip, nor a National Enquirer story. Please do your research and homework before you rush to insult other posters. Truth: "Josh Duggar Seeks To Join Sisters' Breach-Of-Privacy Lawsuit"- FOX news http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2017/06/06/josh-duggar-seeks-to-join-sisters-breach-privacy-law-suit.html. It is not a FOX news item, it is an Associated Press item. The Associated Press is a long-established, highly credible news source that vets its sources well.
DeleteIf you are unwilling to read the Police Report for yourself, then you have no interest in the truth. The report is what the victims themselves reported to Law Enforcement, not what someone else said. The truth is the truth. You owe it to the girls to read it in its entirety. Reading the police report is not gossiping/tale-bearing; it is the Duggar girls factual account of the incidences. For the Christians in the room, not reading the report, then accusing others of lying and hate-mongering is being a false witness. King Solomon advises us to gather all the facts before passing judgement on whether a thing is truth or a lie-the facts are in the police report.
There is no way they will wait until the autumn to get married.
ReplyDeleteYes they will. Jessa and Ben waited a while.
DeleteAutumn will be here in a little over 3 months. It's doable.
DeleteJessa and Ben had a long courtship. Their engagement was just a short as the rest of her married siblings.
DeleteNow on to important news. The new Wonder Woman movie came out this weekend! It was SO good. Do they ever go see new movies in the theatre? Everybody should go see the new Wonder Woman movie!
ReplyDeleteThis is the Duggar blog.
DeleteReally? This is for Duggar news's not movie new's! =-)
DeleteI'm of the Marvel universe but some of the DC universe characters such as The Flash and Arrow are interesting.
DeleteSorry I'm a Marvel person. I hate DC comics.
DeleteWatched the Movie and it's AMAZING!!!🤗🙌🏻
DeleteThe new pirates of the Carribean movie was very good too. Love me some Captain Jack!
DeleteGood to know! Thanks!
DeleteThe actress was 5 months pregnant while filming too!
DeleteAwfully bold move, putting your hand in the jacket pocket of the boy you're courting. I've been married a long time and I still don't do that.
ReplyDeleteI don't root through my husband's pockets in public, either. I don't even root through them at home, which is how quarters and keys and handkerchiefs and other stuff end up in the bottom of the washer at the end of the cycle!
DeleteAnon 7:08 maybe your husband doesn't keep mints in his pockets.... I don't see what the big deal is. I have reached into my husband's pockets for his keys or other items.
DeleteDoes your husband root through your purse in public, too?
DeleteOperative word..HUSBAND! Yes, I can see a wife rooting through her husband's jacket. But to root through your boyfriend's that you can't even hold his hand or touch is odd. Especially, if he was wearing the jacket, which sounds like he was. How would he move her hand away so fast? Hmmm..
DeleteYes, my husband roots through my purse at times too. I don't have anything in there that he can't see.
Deleteso sweet. I really love Kendra! :)
ReplyDeleteToo cute! I also help myself to the mints in my husband's pockets. He knows I get dry mouth really easily from some of my medications, so he always keeps some with him. They sure make an adorable couple. :)
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say first of all congratulations on your engagement Joseph and Kendra and second of all you guys would look absolutely beautiful in a fall October wedding and if I were to guess on what day I would pick October 15th through the 20th because it is between birthdays and it would be the only wedding in October so it would be perfect wishing the both of you the best of luck may god bless you and your family and keep you safe always
ReplyDeleteSo excited! Can't wait to see more weddings! Love this family.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Jospeh and Miss Kendra.
ReplyDeletevery excited to watch this new duggar couple! love this family and it will be good to see one of the boys start a new relationship - been a long time since anna and josh's courtship - about time for a duggar male to get engaged...lol.
ReplyDeleteIkr! :D
DeleteIsn't it up to the individual to decide when it's time to get engaged or married? I don't think anyone should script their lives according to the expectations of other people.
DeleteSo excited for them!!
ReplyDeleteLawsuits take months, sometimes years, before they are heard and decided or settled. They are not decided or settled quickly.
ReplyDeleteNice to have a Duggar boy for a change courting/engaged and up coming wedding. I just have to say that TLC REALLY needs to take a page out of UP and how they film...its so much fun to watch the Bates...night and day to Countin On same ole.
ReplyDeleteI see no difference between Duggars and the Bates.
DeleteYes, the Duggars seem to be many more repeats and canned responses. I agree that it would be much more interesting if it more natural, like the Bates's show.
DeleteYes, the Bates kids seem to express themselves using more normal words. They don't use the same phrases over and over like the Ds do (seasons of life, etc.). I wonder why that is?
DeleteTotally agree, Bates look very natural and real on their show it's fun to watch them! But duggars, wow... it's getting si boring to watch them, I used to watch 19 kids and counting and counting on when it first started, but honestly now I only watch the weddings after that BORING!! 😩😔😒 I just don't believe anything they do on the show is real anymore! I'll probably start watching it again when they bring Mitchell and Jim Bob and the reast of the family again.
DeleteTo Joy and Austin, congrats on your wedding may the lord aloud you two to grow old together and happy! 🙏😊🤗
To Jill, best wishes on your delivery may our Lord be with you through the process of labor and delivery!
To Anna, you've been through so much and our lord is blessing you with another beautiful angel in your life many blessings to you and your family! Have a fast and safe delivery!!💕
Yes, I follow the blog and Facebook but the shows are just so slow and repetitive. Their platform is so powerful I wish they would talk more about God influencing all their life choices. How do they discern God's path? How did they discern the call to missions - not just Jill and Derrick but everyone involved in mission. Does Joseph preach? How does he prepare? The walk isn't just marriage and children, there is so much more and I feel certain they deal with these issues but they could share.
DeleteThe Bates look genuine and happy (like they are real) no real show or put on. Gil is funny and they probably need better than UP to corral the bunch. The Duggars are minus Jim Bob, Michelle, Josh and Anna and they were strong characters/people. It wanes now basically. Jeremy, Ben and Derick ...Derrick probably could hold the show if he was so inclined to do so. Derick comes off as genuine. I'm looking forward to Joy and Austin's wedding. The couples from the Bates family glow, it's apparent, that there is magic there.
DeleteHappy for the couple
ReplyDeleteGosh 18 seems like such a young age to be getting married at... I could never picture myself getting married at 18. (Or even 19).. I hope they wait longer than this fall and do it next year or the year after that. But I guess it's up to them. Congrats though.
ReplyDeleteIn this new generation, it's not surprising to see young adults getting married anymore.
DeleteI see no problem with getting married at 18 and after a short engagement . My husband and I were 18 and 20, engaged in August and married in October- will be 48 years this year. This is their decision and if they feel ready then good for them. Congratulations to Joseph and Kendra.
Delete26 years ago I married my husbanf...I was barely 18. Im SO glad we were married young! The Bible talks about
Delete..the wife of ones youth!
Jamie- It's great your marriage has been a happy one, however you have no way of knowing if you'd have been just as content had you waited to get married. Most of my classmates who married right out of high school eventually divorced. I am glad I waited and enjoyed my independence.
DeleteAre Joseph and Kendra's photo going to be up in the heading soon?
ReplyDeleteso glad to see another one of the guys in a relationship! i hope tlc will follow kendra like they did anna & let us meet her some more! i'm so happy for this adorable couple!
ReplyDeleteIt's no secret that the Duggars do not have long engagements. It would not be unexpected if they get married within a few months. Although, keeping the exact date under wraps would not come as any surprise.
ReplyDeleteThat's their choice.
Delete3:29- Sure, it seems to be the choice of all of them. That's why it's silly to speculate on when the next wedding will be.
DeleteI'm not against young marriage but I just don't get the rush to the altar with these couples. I do wish they took a little more time to court before they got married...especially considering she's only 18. But they seem to be very mature so I'm sure they will be fine.
ReplyDeleteIf you are in love, why wait? People back in the old days didn't wait that long to get married.
DeleteWhy wait? Well, for starters, it doesn't hurt to have a financial game plan in place and good job before you get married. Young women should not be under the assumption that a man will always be able to provide for them. There's also something to be said for enjoying some independence before making a lifelong commitment to another person, as well as allowing for more time to mature. Just because expectations may have been different in the "old days", does not mean they were always the right thing for everyone.
DeleteAh, yes! The "good old days"- segregation, only men could vote, no electricity or indoor plumbing... those were great times!
DeleteIn the "old days", plenty of married couples were not happily married. Divorce was less common because there was a stigma attached to it. People just stayed married even if they were miserable.
DeleteAnonymous #3-Agreed! Very good post! Statistically, a lot of young marriages don't make it. One of the biggest issues is finances. It's always a smart plan to begin your married life debt-free, with 3-6 months worth of monthly income in the bank, and a healthy life insurance policy in place. Should a medical emergency or job loss occur, there's somewhat of a cushion to soften the blow. Should a pregnancy occur right away, there's money for OB-Gyn visits and money toward a delivery/newborn check-ups/well-baby check-ups. Should a spouse pass, the remaining spouse is financially taken care of for quite a while (house paid off, any unpaid debt paid off, spouse's income replaced), so that he/she isn't forced to make quick decisions that might not be the best. Most young people aren't mature enough to think all this through, nor do most have parents who teach them this kind of thing. Most young marrieds these days are heavily in debt to start, from college loans, credit card debt, and wanting it all now (expensive vacations, regularly eating out, big expensive fully furnished homes, expensive cars, etc.). Frankly, the Duggar offspring couldn't afford the lives they live, if they didn't have reality TV money. Biblically speaking, the man is supposed to have a means to provide for a wife and children and build the house before he adds a wife and the potential children. Just sayin'.
DeleteMaybe their wedding will be in mid August.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I was thinking or September/October.
DeleteLook alikes, very cute pair! A matched set!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised if they get married this summer. After all Joy was supposed to marry in October.
ReplyDeleteShe wasn't suppose to, someone made a fake account on a bridal website and used her name, and gave the date October.
DeleteNo she wasn't. That was just to get a registry. They said it wasn't the real date :-)
DeleteIt wasn't a fake account. It was their real account. They only used the October date as a placeholder, to create the account. There was a message on the page that it wasn't the real date.
DeleteIt's so hot in Arkansas during the summer though.
DeleteFall seems pretty late for a Duggar wedding :) it's a good season to get married. I would guess late summer
ReplyDeleteCute couple if they are like other duggar couples wedding will be in the next three to six months
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh! I get it now! So she reached in his JACKET pocket for mints. I was so confused there, I was like so she can fiddle in his pockets but can't say I love you too they get engaged?
ReplyDeleteWow, she is carrying very low this time around...she looks healthy and happy...praying for a smoothe da deliveru
DeleteI don't think it specified which pocket?
DeleteYes but he had to be wearing the jacket, to move her hand away. Still kind of weird when they don't have any personal contact except for a side hug. A little intimate and close for a courting Duggar, wouldn't you say? Haha. I think they are cute!
DeleteAww, a fall wedding (or Autumn, as we call it in the UK) would be so beautiful. I'm thinking of all the colours. I'm also sure the bible says to rejoice when others rejoice. I'm happy for them. That is all.
ReplyDeleteDing ding ding! We have a winner.
DeleteI am happy for them!
ReplyDeleteAnother thing about the 'old days'...dentists drilled in proples' teeth without an anesthetic.
ReplyDeleteAmong a lot of other horrors.... Best comment!
DeleteMy husband and I were 19 and 20 when we got married.. and we are coming up on 20 years. We didn't get married in "the old days" and we didn't listen to those who said we were too young. We both have careers and have raised and are raising 4 children. We managed to turn out just fine... when you lean on the Lord to guide your steps, age isn't an issue. If Joe and Kendra are trusting Gods will for their life (and not doing what others think they should or shouldn't be doing), then they are going to be just fine.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Joseph and Kendra! I wish them all the best. I hope they'll enjoy many wonderful days together and hope their wedding is everything they want it to be.
ReplyDelete
