Last week, I was invited to breakfast with our pastor's wife and daughter. We had a great time chatting, and just before I left, they showed me the latest additions to their family: five baby ducks! They were simply adorable. They have raised ducks before, and they plan to keep them until they are full-grown and then hand them over to a farm.
The pastor's wife told me about the ducks she raised when she lived in a different state. When they had grown big enough, they would follow her down to the creek to go for a swim and then follow her back home again. She ended up having to let the ducks go, but several years later, while she was canoeing, a duck came right up to her and followed her the entire time. She thinks it had to be one of her ducks! If we ever own a house with a bit of land, I think I'm going to have to raise ducks. They're just so darling.
Awww! How cute! I love that story. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCute ducklings! Wrong blog..?! :)
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing.
DeleteThe ducklings are always fun to watch grow up.
ReplyDeleteI hope they are not overly socialized if they intend to place on a farm or their lives could be short.
We learned the hard way growing up and transfering ours.
This has to do with the Duggars how?
ReplyDeleteIt's her blog
DeleteHey, Ellie! You may have meant to post this on nashvillewife.com!
ReplyDeleteI think this is posted on the wrong blog...
ReplyDeleteIt's her blog
DeleteHow is this about the Duggars?
ReplyDeleteThis is her blog
DeleteI think "Ducklings" was posted on the wrong blog. Was it meant to be posted on Nashvillewife? Still enjoyed the post though.
ReplyDeleteEllie, I think you posted this in the wrong blog!
ReplyDeleteNo, this is her blog. She can post whatever she wants.
DeleteIf She is going to do a Duggar blog than maybe she should stay to the Duggars and not post personal blogs. Now it might be an accident that she posted it here.
DeleteSeriously guys? It's her blog and she posted about the breakfast she had with her pastor's wife and her experience with the ducklings there.
DeleteHi Ellie, I think you posted this in the wrong blog :)
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteWas this post meant for Nashville Wife instead of the Duggar blog?
ReplyDeletePeople! Seriously! Its her blog, she can post whatever she wants.
DeleteOf course she *can* post whatever she wants but this is very out of the norm. It does seem like a post she meant for Nashville wife.
DeleteShe can, but she always keeps her blogs organized and on-topic. This was such a departure from that, and an obvious mistake.
DeleteCute! What a sweet picture!
ReplyDeleteOh how cuto! But I think you accidently posted this on the Duggar blog when you meant to post on your NashvlleWife instead. Lol!
ReplyDeleteUmm is this on the wrong blog? Totally interesting but just wondering :)
ReplyDeleteEllie how come you but the ducklings on the Duggars page and not on your page.
ReplyDeleteVery cute and interesting. But should I be econcerned that you seem to have your blog post pages mixed up today?! This coming just after the laundry confession post has me wondering if something has got your mind preoccupied else wheres. What could that be?
ReplyDeleteSeriously???!!
DeleteGive her a break..
Yes, accidentally putting a post on the wrong blog is so scandalous.
DeleteDid you mean to post this on your Nashville wife blog? Oops! ;)
ReplyDeleteNo need to publish comment.
ReplyDeleteInteresting post but I think you meant to post it on Nashville Wife and not Duggar Family blog. :) lol. Thanks for your hard work on all of your blogs.
What does this have to do with duggars?
ReplyDeleteThe ducks are so cute!
ReplyDeleteBut have you decided to change your last name from Mrs Handsome to Duggar? 😁
Jk...No worries.
What does this post have to do with the Duggars? I am confused.
ReplyDeletePosted on the wrong blog?
ReplyDeleteEllie, I think you might have posted this on the wrong blog, lol!
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised you posted this on DuggarFamilyBlog and not on NashvilleWifeBlog. But I love ducklings too!
ReplyDeleteWell this is embarrassing! This post was meant for my personal blog. I guess with three blogs, I was bound to make that mistake someday. Lol.
ReplyDeleteFor those who are confused, I (Ellie) am the author of three blogs (NashvilleWife.com, DuggarFamilyBlog.com, and BatesFamilyBlog.com). For five years, this was my only blog, but two years ago, my readers encouraged me to start a blog about my life, so that's how NashvilleWife.com came about. Around the same time, I received the Bates' blessing to start a blog about their family/TV show, so I started BatesFamilyBlog.com.
Ellie
Well good thing you have your sharp-eyed (and sometimes sharp-tongued???) readers to keep you straight! LOL
DeleteWho is Lily and what is her roll in this blog?
DeleteThe baby duckling is adorable!
DeleteSharp-tonged is right!!!
DeleteHow is it that we need 20+ comments about it being in the wrong blog I'm fairly certain she git the point and even posted a reply about it ad well. So no more need to comment on it I think!
Let's move on people!
I don't care if it was posted under the wrong blog. It is the cutest thing I've seen all day.
DeleteI just appreciate the fact it was shared.
DeleteDoesn't matter where it was posted and I found it refreshing.
It's very cute cross-promotion. It's okay to say, I'm putting these adorable ducklings here to attract you to my other blog. :)
DeleteHey, Ellie picked which comments to post, not us! Tell her that no repeat comments were needed, not us.
DeleteLol I thought I might be pregnancy brain, it's real! Lol
DeleteGuys! Stop commenting the same thing! It's fine.
ReplyDeletePeople commented before any of them we them were approved! We didn't know others had commented the same thing.
DeleteYes, the lag in the comments section always throws people off.
DeleteI, for one, was happy to see this post on the Duggar blog. No complaints from me.
ReplyDeleteWe ducks last year. We got them when they were babies and they were so cute. But when they got older they were very hard to take care of, so we had to get rid of them. :(
ReplyDeleteOur Shepherd, cat and poodle use to sunbath with our 🦆 ducks.
DeleteOne especially enjoyed laying on the Shepard back lol
Having sliding glass doors and duck's just don't mix.
They feed their reflection lol
No worries Ellie!
ReplyDeleteRandom.... lol
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how even a non-Duggar post (about baby duckies!) can have some commenters jumping on other commenters.
ReplyDeleteWow. Apparently those feeling the need to comment about the minor mishap has never made an honest mistake. I for one welcome the blog. All good Ellie!
ReplyDeleteI didn't even notice it was the "wrong" blog. I just thought Ellie and the duckling were a lovely picture of Spring!
ReplyDeleteThat really a bad thing to do to the ducklings. The baby ducks are imprinting on you, a human. They think you are mama duck, but you will not be able to teach the ducklings what they need to learn. It might be cute, yet having the ducklings imprint on you hurts them in the long run. Do some research. Not a kind idea.
ReplyDeleteFor the record people, mistakes happen! Especially when you are largely working Independently and don't get feedback on your performance until it's too late. For people who just have to belabor this issue, let it go, Ellie is working very hard to keep us all entertained.
