Check out this group photo from the Duggars' weekend trip to the ARK Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky, and the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky. The family has been to the Creation Museum three times now, once in 2008--a visit that was documented on 18 Kids and Counting--and once in 2014. The ARK Encounter just opened last summer.
Who can you pick out in the photo below? If you look closely, you'll see Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and the majority of their 19 children; Josh and Anna Duggar and their four (soon to be five) kids; Joseph Duggar and his girlfriend, Kendra Caldwell; Michelle's sister and her grandson, Tyler, who is living with the Duggars; as well as several friends.
Jessa, Ben, Spurgeon, and Henry Seewald, also went along, as did Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo. Ken Ham, founder of the Creation Museum and visionary behind the ARK Encounter, confirmed that the Duggars were not filming for TLC during this visit.

Creation museum is an oxymoron.
ReplyDeleteHow is "creation museum" an oxymoron?
DeleteHow so?
Delete😐
DeleteHow brave of you to post anonymously. We also just returned from the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. You our should visit as well. You need to.
DeletePosting a name means NOTHING. Here, I'll post a name to prove it...
DeleteAn oxymoron is a play on works. Museum is the trick part- it can't be a creation museum- creation is constantly happening. 8:01-some of us do get it!
DeleteHuh? Don't understand these posts. Stop speaking in code, no one understands.
DeleteDo people really think that unbelievers are going to find God as a result of going to a bible-based theme park?
DeleteSo sad that we missed them as my family just went yesterday for the first time even though it is only about 35 minutes from our home. It was a wonderful experience and I hope that they enjoyed it as much as we did.
ReplyDelete😪
DeleteIsn't this what family should be about. Sticking by each other through good and bad times. Love covers a multitude of sins. I sincerely hope Josh has changed. I sincerely hope he never lies, deceives, cheats, or molests again. I sincerely hope Josh comprehends the gift he has in his family. Not many would stand by him year after year like they have. I truly hope in a full restoration of healing for all.
ReplyDeleteThere's Josh again, front and center. How many blog posts in a row now feature Josh and his family somehow? Are you leading up to something??
ReplyDeleteWell, he is a member of the family.
DeleteHAH! Anonymous 12:24! LOL That comment made my day!!!
DeleteI don't understand why the Duggar family thinks that putting Josh and Anna's kids back in the public eye is a good thing. It is not normal for young children to have no privacy. It is especially concerning because of Josh and Anna's present situation, still working through marriage issues. I can't see any good coming from exposing these kids and their parents to public scrutiny.
Delete@8:37. I thought the EXACT same thing, but was to cowardly to say it! Definately preparing the "Josh and Anna" come back tour.
DeleteHe is part of their family. I don't understand the confusion on his being with his family!
DeleteI'm so glad to see Josh, Anna and the kids and hearing more from them. I'm sorry you don't feel the same way.
DeleteWhat is that suppose to mean?? He's part of the family, he aloud to be in photos, it has nothing to do with the show.
DeleteIf you do not believe in forgiveness (regardless of the sin) you my friend will find yourself out of the will of God. Have you never needed forgiveness for anything?
DeleteIt's not like they showed him a million times. If you don't like it than stop getting on here. It's that simple🙄
DeleteThey may forgive but that doesn't mean they want him around. Think about it.
DeleteThey've announced that Anna is going to be back on the show some more when it returns, so yes, this is leading up to something......
Delete9:15, he's not just "here," though. Where do you think Ellie got those pictures?
DeleteWell, you don't have to follow the Duggars if you don't want to see their son.
DeleteYou know, I'm not even remotely religious (atheist actually), but I don't see what condemning Josh for the rest of his natural life for sins he's repented and paid for, will do for anyone. Perhaps you'd like a return to lynching and hanging? Might as well/
DeleteI would love to visit!
ReplyDeleteLove this post. I want to go to the Creation Museum one day....don't know if I'll get there since I live way out west. I love hearing about how the Duggars learn and celebrate their faith. Do they still have their devotional time with the younger ones in the evening like they used to when the older ones were growing up? Do they still read a chapter a day from Proverbs....the chapter number that corresponds to the date on that particular day? Getting tired of hearing about weddings and babies....lets include more about what the other kids are doing.
ReplyDeleteI agree @9:41! I was just thinking about this. My favorite footage from past shows that featured the whole family was when they were having bible study right before bed!
DeleteThe show is not the same without the whole family!
I would love to go to the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum one of these days. I'm glad they all got to go. I'm glad they got to do this.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely worth it Regina. My husband and I took our son (he was pretty young still) and we had a blast. The garden is gorgeous during the summer. We went before the ark encounter so I can't wait to visit again.
DeleteI wish I lived closer to go see it. I've been hearing about it for years.
DeleteOh and I'm glad for once TLC wasn't involved!
ReplyDeleteInteresting that Jana's friend Laura is standing next to Jeremiah again :)
ReplyDeleteA new courtship maybe on the way!😁
DeleteOdd cause Jana is 27 and Jeremiah is 18.
DeleteI love seeing pics of the whole family!!!!....Josh included 😊
ReplyDeleteWow I didn't even recognize Josh.
ReplyDeleteI wish Jana would find a lovely husband and live close to Josh and Anna. I think Anna and Jana have such a beautiful friendship.
ReplyDeleteWhy would Jana need a husband to do that? She could go now, and help with the car business.
DeleteOkay who are the young couple directly on Jana's right side with the 3 blonde little ones. Also who are the couple (or young man and lady) directly to the right of Jennifer and Joy? Also is that Josie sitting in between Marcus and Michael? It doesn't look like her but, if thats not her I don't see Josie in here. If it is Josie she has grown tremendously. Nice to see family photos though!
ReplyDeleteIs that Jeremiah I see wth what looks like a girl next to him in the "courtship" pose? Looks like there's some romantic action we haven't been imformed about. I see Kendra, too, but no Austin for Joy? I'm surprised he didn't take off work to join them...that's what Ben, Dereck, and Jeremy do! Speaking of Jeremy, I don't see him or Jinger - or Jessa and Ben for that matter! I thought this was a family photo... hmmm...
ReplyDeleteI noticed that too!
DeleteMy guess is that Jinger is pregnant...and conveniently absent from the picture. :-)
DeleteJinger and Jeremy live in Texas...
DeleteWhere is Jinger? Someone posted online that she was there.
DeleteJinger and Jeremy were there. They were in other group pictures from that trip.
DeleteJInger and Jeremy live way down at the bottom of Texas, no where near Kentucky.
DeleteShe was there, just in other pictures.
DeleteTHERE IS Kendra Caldwel!
ReplyDeleteI would like to ask a question that I have recently noticed, if I may. Why is it since Tyler has joined the family, we are suddenly seeing photos of Michelle's sister interacting with the Duggars? For 10 years now, we have hardly at all, seen or have heard about them. It was like they didn't exist. Why the inclusion now?
ReplyDeleteBecause she is Tyler's grandmother. She had custody of Tyler but had a stroke and could no longer take care of him. So Michelle stepped up.
DeleteBecause Michelle's sister is Tyler's grandmother. It makes sense to have her included, doesn't it?
DeleteI believe she is living with them right now too.
DeleteI am just another person who comes to this blog from time to time that said. I don't persume to know the answer to your question but did want offer my two cents regarding your question. We don't know all the family dynamics in this very large family and much larger extended family. We don't "know" that there has been an "exclusion" of this sister. The TLC cameras weren't rolling in this family vacation and though its speculation maybe the sister of Michelle has chosen NOT to be broadcasted on television? Tyler is a child and that is his Grandmother. His situation for any child can be heartwrenching and the inclusion of his Grandmother in a vacation like this to me only means more love and support for Tyler. This family has never claimed to live perfectly and I think they have showed tremendous growth and UNITY even when they struggle and when the rejoice. Thats what all families should strive for. You pick up the pieces carry on always looking to the future and thankful for the present.
DeleteMaybe because they are choosing to spend more time with them so they can see Tyler and stay involved in his life? It's very nice that the Duggars have taken him in and very nice that they are supporting maintaining that connection to his Grandparents. I think it's lovely.
DeleteIsn't Michelle's sister Tyler's grandmother? If that's the case, it stands to reason that she would want to have contact with her grandson while he is living with the Duggars.
DeleteMaybe she was camera shy at first? Who knows.
DeleteTyler, his mother, and his grandmother have been included in activities and shown on camera and in photos over the years. It is just being noticed more, now that Tyler lives with the Duggars.
DeleteTyler used to live with Michelle's sister, but her health deteriorated so bad that the Duggars took him in. I love that they try to maintain that connection between Tyler and his grandma, because I'm sure they love each other very much and it was hard for him to leave her side.
DeleteDidn't this sister have a stroke? Isn't that why she couldn't take care of Tyler any more? Maybe that's why she's been absent til now? But I see what you mean, OP. Very little of Michelle's family has been shown on TV since that one birthday party. Much more of Jim Bob's, by comparison.
DeleteNot everyone wants to be on TV. I am sure it was their choice not to be shown as much.
DeleteIt's unfortunate that they believe in Creationism instead of Evolution. It just shows how uneducated they truly are. There's lots of studies to support evolution and they are denying science by believing otherwise. Ken Ham should be ashamed of himself for preaching such nonsense. - I'll probably get tons of hate for this comment, but that's to be expected from people who refuse to believe in science.
ReplyDeleteCould be you kind enough to show your evidence that supports evolution. I think you just might be suprised at how many theories supporting evolution were proven wrong even by scientists themselves.
Delete11:50 am - It is not a sign of being uneducated to believe to Creationism. Evolution has many "theories" but it has never been "PROVEN". One idea that I've been taught through religion is that the explosion in the Big Bang Theory was orchestrated of course by God. God made sure everything was aligned at the right time and the right place to create an explosion. Many very educated people believe in Creationism. Maybe educate yourself.
DeleteAnd you actually believe that the entire ordered universe came into existence from nothing? Do you know what space our universe is in?
DeleteThey is NO proof to support evolution.
DeleteCreationism and other claims of supernatural intervention in the origin of life or of species are not considered science because they are not testable by current methods of science. That does not mean we are not a product of intelligent design or master creator. I am willing to keep my mind open to possibilities for things that cannot otherwise be explained. There is much that I consider misguided in creation science, but I do not disregard it altogether. I also do not consider myself ignorant, I hold a Master's degree in education from a major university.
Delete"Truth in science is never final, and what is accepted as a fact today may be modified or even discarded tomorrow."
- from the National Academy of Sciences
Dear Anonymous, when you die, and you stand before the Lord Jesus Christ, you will know that He created this whole world. Evolution is a lie from the devil.
DeleteEvolution is simply a theory...it is not a scientific proof.
DeleteKen Ham actually called teaching evolution as "intellectual child abuse." It's on record.
DeleteThere isn't any evidence to support Creationism either people. ALL of the explanations for the beginning of the world are only theories. However, a lot of points of the theory of Creationism have already been disproven unequivocally by science. Anon 12:23 has a valid point though. God certainly could have orchestrated something like the Big Bang but no way was the earth created in only seven literal days, nor is the Earth only 6000 years old, nor did dinosaurs live in the time of humans. That is where education comes in.
DeleteI mean an encyclopedia!
DeleteI didn't use the word "proven" - Anonymous 12:23. I said supported which isn't the same thing. It's not total nonsense. A lot of people who believe in Creationism are not educated and simply don't understand evolution. I'm just saying preaching that Creationism is fact is dangerous since people can say Creationism is a theory too. Maybe we should research both sides. I highly doubt the Duggars researched evolution from scientific sources. Religion and science can co-exist.
DeleteAnd you actually believe that dinosaurs never existed despite there being fossils proving that they did in fact exist? - Anonymous 12:27 I know you didn't say that, but you believing that the universe was started in the blink of an eye suggests that you don't believe in dinosaurs when science suggests otherwise. There's plenty of scientific evidence to prove that Earth is 4.5 billion years old. I think science and religion can co-exist. We need science and religion.
DeleteReally wish we could all learn more about Darwin and his theory. Did you know that at the end of his life he didn't believe in his own evolution theory? Did you know he requested a Christian burial? It is the craziest thing to believe every living thing, trees animals etc. all evolved from a big explosion and /or one cell.where on earth can you make any connection between an elephant to a cherry tree.
DeleteYou can easily believe had his hand in creating the universe 13 bill plus years ago and that he started the process of evolution. Let's see whale evolution, apes to humans, fish to amphibians, reptilian to mammals, and dinosaurs to birds have numerous examples of transition. Doesn't disprove God just proves God is much more complicated and beautiful then the simple minded creationist idea. We are mortals we can only deal with how things come about physically. God can use any means to create it. There are trees and coral reefs that are over 6000 years old.
DeleteOk, when you think of evolution you think of monkeys becoming humans over time right? Well, if that was the case how come we only see monkeys as monkeys now and not evolving into humans now? I admit Darwin was a genius for his time and I can understand why he thought as he did. It simply isn't true. Not hating here, but I believe if you want to be truly educated, you'd study both sides. I've been to the creation museum and it has only confirmed my own belief in creationism. Shame on you for judging those when you have not a clue what you are talking about. Classic Liberal troll here. I feel sorry for you and hope you take the time to learn the Truth.
DeleteEvolution is a perfectly nice theory. Emphasis on theory. No proof.
Delete12:28, look up the definition of evolution before you make yourself look ignorant!! we evolve every day by learning & growing physically, mentally & spiritually! in order to evolve, something has to be created first. if we dont evolve, our 'species' will die out. i'm a huge duggar (& bates) fan and honestly admire their tenacity, even if i dont agree with all their beliefs or the way they believe them. i tend to think more 'scientific' and am thrilled when science is actually able to prove something we read in the bible! just the fact alone that we've been given the capacity to think & reason, to be able to prove the bible actually existed, is reason enough to support evolution!
DeleteWow! I am amazed at the number of comments from people who don't believe in evolution. How can you just choose not to believe in facts? Do you dispute climate change too? Maybe you've chosen alternative facts? :) My husband and I were both raised in church going families and our raising our children similarly. About a year ago, National Geographic Magazine had an article about Creation museums and there was a photo of a painting with Adam and Eve standing next to dinosaurs. My then 5 year old took one look at it and said "That's a lie. Dinosaurs were extinct long before humans ever lived." He was 5 and he understood facts. I'm just confused as to why adults continue to dispute it.
DeleteUm.... you're people may come from monkeys but mine sure didn't! o_O
DeleteEVOLUTION HAS NO PROOF!!! only theory, hypotheses, and NO real science! evolution theory continues to change every time a new discovery is made. some evolution points have been turned on its head by the people making the evolution argument! also almost all home school kids test out higher than public and private school students! please know your facts before spreading spin!
DeleteIt is scientifically impossible for order to result from chaos. With billions of years of evolution (per Evolutionary Scientists), don't you find it the least bit troubling that Scientists have yet to find one intermediary stage evolutionary fossil from any of the 7 continents? Not one. Evolution is a theory; Science is a study of provable fact. A hypothesis is a guess or working theory, followed by testing (observational or physical evidence) either proving or disproving that theory. If the evidence doesn't match the hypothesis, the hypothesis in flawed and must change. Science 101
DeleteBill Gates, founder of Microsoft, commented that “DNA is like a software program, only much more complex than anything we've ever devised.” And you think this happened all by accident????
DeleteOH my word.... if you don't believe and don't like them, get a life and go spread your hate elsewhere...
Deletehttp://evolution.berkeley.edu/evolibrary/article/lines_01
DeletePlease tell me how this isn't evidence and this is less than .01% of the evidence that shows the theory of evolution just like the THEORY OF GRAVITY hold true.
Evolution is a theory 'an idea unproven by science' you therefore believe it by faith and not sight..... I believe in creation by Faith and not sight because I know God was there being eternal!!!! If you believe in evolution you call God a liar and deny His eternal attributes. I'm not uneducated and know that science actually proves creation and the flood and that numerous historical evidences prove the Bible to be a solid book of history! Scientists are so dead on proving their theory of evolution that they act as though it already is! Other scientific theories are taught as 'ideas unproven' evolution is the only one taught as a 'fact' because man in sin wants to deny the existence of God!
Delete@OP Science is a method, not a belief system. Unfortunately the very method that is science has been forgotten by a great deal of "scientists" the world round. Science is nothing more than a series of steps to measure the workings of our universe and everything in it. Evolution, like climate change, and carbon dating abandons the principals of science, by putting what you want to be true over what is actually true. Evolution is still a theory at best, it has far too many stumbling blocks genetically speaking, not to mention time issues and lack of observability/repeatability. All this leaves us with are DNA similarities between species. Those pieces of DNA happen to correspond with things such as hair, nails, skin, cell growth, etc and show that we were made by a mindful creator that demands order in His creation. Science and religion are not at war, however some scientists might be at war with religion.
DeleteGod bless and take care.
Marilyn R, think of branching when you think of evolution. Let me give you an example. Take the invention of the engine. From that came cars, mototcycles, boats, trains, rockets, and so on. One machine doesn't continue to "evolve" into another as time goes by. Each branched off and have had their own changes over the years. But you can trace them back to a common ancestor, the engine. Just as you can trace modern-day humans and monkeys back, too.
DeleteAgree with all who are saying that religion and science can coexist, and that theories of evolution do not cancel out a divine hand in creating this world. We can still believe in God but recognize breakthroughs in anthropology etc.
DeleteAnd actually I very much do believe in God. How judgmental of you to think I don't!
DeleteI hate when people say people don't believe in God because they believe in evolution. I believe in God very much even though my beliefs are really personal and don't affect you, so stop being judgmental!
DeleteLily & Ellie - I am sick at how people attacked me saying I will basically go to the bad place for believing otherwise. I very much believe in God.
DeleteI think why so many have an issue with the concept of evolution is because the idea that Jesus is God. God is God-The Creator, All Powerful, Eternal, and He is the One and only. There is nothing in His creation that is remotely close to his likeness. Saying that He is a man, or the notion of Him being to the likeness of man is limiting the entire concept of an all powerful God. God created the entire universe, in all its complexity, from multi dimensional theories and black matter, down to the very ability for each and every one of us to process and express our own thoughts and emotions (and even the repercussions of those feelings). God's realm of creation is a vast and complex concept to mankind's mind. The amount of knowledge for mankind to encompass is so much for a single human to comprehend. Therefore when saying that Jesus is God it is limiting His Being. It is comparing God to ourselves, and our limited capabilities. I know Im gonna get some riled up commenters on here, but it's a side of the debate that is worth, respectfully, discussing. Jesus did not create the heavens and the Earth, it was there before him, and it will be there after him. God was there from the beginning and will be there at the end and eternally. Why must God be associated to Jesus and not God himself? Jesus only came into existence about 2000 years ago. Why is it a sin to believe in the God that is beyond my comprehension who has always existed for those who came before Jesus and for all eternity and fully submit to Him?
DeleteEvolution has NOT been disproven by many scientists! In fact, as a scientist, I can tell you that the evidence is mounting. It is called a theory because we are still learning about the process, not because it is just a hutch.
DeleteEvolution is a very slow process that is still occurring as we speak. And yes, our complex DNA structure is a product of evolution.
Yes, their are religious scientists. The Catholic Church, by the way, accepts evolution. But those "scientists" who do not accept evolution are NOT real scientists. Why? Because they obviously do not accept the scientific process, the bedrock of all scientific inquiry.
Accepting evolution does not negate the concept of a God, far from it.
The "days" of creation weren't necessarily meant to be taken as literal days, but only separate periods of time. As such, dinasours could have lived and become extinct before man was created. Truth is, we just don't know for sure. Evolution could, in a sense, be partially true in that certain species have adapted out of necessity to their climate and/or habitat as the world has changed. But this I know is true: that one specie does not change into a completely different specie, and man did NOT evolve from apes or any other animal. Man was made "in the image and likeness of God", and therefore did not evolve from a lower animal.
DeleteIf Satan could bring about death, disease, hate, and lies why do we not think it possible that he could plant neanderthal and dinosaur bones complete with dna and carvon dating that "disproves" what the word says is fact. It is another ploy to lead pepole away from God and into death.
Deletekristin mills- Excellent post! You made the most sense of anyone on this forum.
DeleteJamie- If God created everything in this world and is the author of all in it, is it not possible He's also the architect of evolution, or varying forms of it? As far as evolution being "of the devil", I think that's quite a stretch.
DeleteNow Ive heard everything, anon 8:36.
DeleteApparently my comment about science and religion being able to coexist
Is nondesirable. I made a comment below but I would just like to remind people here that not all Christians interpret the Bible in a literal way but that does not make mainstream Christians evil or nonbelievers. One can believe that evolution is occurring all the time but know that it is God who set it all in motion. Christians do not need to be afraid of science. Scientific discoveries do not mean that the hand of God can't be in all of it.
Evolution does not teach we come from monkeys it teaches that we both had a common ancestor. Monkeys evolved on one branch and humans on another. I believe God created it all however, the strory in the book of Genesis is just a that a story written at a time when people did not have the knowledge we have now and they tried to make sense of our world.
Delete"AnonymousMarch 29, 2017 at 7:16 PM
Delete12:28, look up the definition of evolution before you make yourself look ignorant!! we evolve every day by learning & growing physically, mentally & spiritually!"- Actually, we do not evolve per Webster's dictionary and Science terminology. We adapt (to adjust, to accomodate/make accomodations for, to conform) to changing situations, events, weather, internal and external belief systems, etc. We anticipate the need for change (intelligence) and make changes accordingly. We respond to change, hopefully by learning what did and did not work and making the corresponding changes-evidencing intelligence. To evolve is to become something new; that which did not previously exist. We adapt through experience, knowledge, learned behaviors, and instinct.
Dawn- Your post is one of well- articulated reason. Thank you!
Delete@Anonymous: 5:13: Exactly. Funny how people say I have no idea what I'm talking about when they don't understand evolution at all.
DeleteActually I believe in The Big Bang theory. God said "Let there be light" and Bang! There was light!😁
DeleteAnon 5:13: its not just a story, its Gods word.
DeleteI agree 4:05!
DeleteThanks anon 8:21. This is a subject I have a lot of interest in.
DeleteLove your comment Regina, and I completely agree!!!
DeleteI think it's ridiculous how evolutionists think that the world is billions of years old and it was created with a big bang.
DeleteWere you there to witness it?
I am a bible believing Christian and I believe the God made the world.
Creationists and Evolutionists look at the same evidence just through different lenses. Creationists have the bible as prove and Evolutionists look to their own theories.
How ridiculous is it to believe that a massive astroid hit the earth and all dinosaurs instantly died. How completely mad to think that dinosaurs evolved into birds. Birds are warm blooded whilst dinosaurs are cold. How did birds get their feathers and develop completely different blood? Does that not tell you something?
Dinosuars did exist with humans, they became carnivores after the fall of man. Before that they were herbivores, what else would they have eaten? Rocks? If you look at a T-Rex's skull it would be hard to believe that it ate vegitation before the fall. But look at a panda's skull, or a fruit bat's. They both have vicious looking jaws that look carnivorious but a panda eats bamboo and a fruit bat's diet is self explanatory.
There is evidence to support my theory about humans and dinosuars existing together, but I'm not able to copy and paste at the moment.
Amber, I think carnivorous dinosaurs ate other dinosaurs while herbivore's ate plants. Humans and dinosaurs did not coexist. If you are using the Bible are proof, I know that's not in there. I'd sure like to see the sources of your proof.
DeleteBehemoth: Job 40
DeleteJob 40:15-24 speaks of a "behemoth." No one is really sure what it is, but read its description.
15 “Look now at the behemoth, which I made along with you; he eats grass like an ox.
16 See now, his strength is in his hips, and his power is in his stomach muscles.
17 He moves his tail like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are tightly knit.
18 His bones are like beams of bronze, his ribs like bars of iron.
19 He is the first of the ways of God; only He who made him can bring near His sword.
20 Surely the mountains yield food for him, and all the beasts of the field play there.
21 He lies under the lotus trees, in a covert of reeds and marsh.
22 The lotus trees cover him with their shade; the willows by the brook surround him.
23 Indeed the river may rage, yet he is not disturbed; he is confident, though the Jordan gushes into his mouth,
24 Though he takes it in his eyes, or one pierces his nose with a snare."
Does that not sound like a dinosaur?
Who is the woman and kids on the left side? :)
ReplyDeleteIs TLC telling the Duggars that it would be good to get Josh back on the show? Up until now Josh has made no personal public statement, it has always been through his parents or his wife. Since he has returned from rehab there has been no communication that he is really okay. I thought they wanted some privacy, but it now looks like they just want to jump back into the show.
ReplyDeleteI agree with 12:58. Josh has made no personal public statement yet, and that's fine. I think he should stop letting others speak for him. I think he should heal in his own time and his own way without the whole Duggar clan hovering and placing upon him THEIR expectations. Josh needs to be honest to himself and as a grown man make his own life decisions. Everyone needs to back off and let him figure it out. It would be far more damaging for him and his wife and children to go one pretending if his heart is not in it. The Duggars should give Josh some space.
DeleteEllie, is it possible for you to just NOT post these divisive, rude comments? I understand why you do, but I wish we didn't have to scroll through hateful comments to see the encouraging ones 😕
ReplyDeleteIt's not Ellie's responsibility to shield you from other people's opinions.
DeleteStarting to see what you mean, especially regarding this "creation" debate. The "tolerance" crowd has a hard time tolerating Christians beliefs. (They do just fine with Muslim beliefs, though.)
DeleteI think it's good that they post "both sides". It's interesting and disturbing to see how mislead so many people are. More importantly it allows true Christians the opportunity to witness to those who have been deceived by satan. I always learned in college that a "good research paper" always presents both sides. However, I do agree that the clearly rude and disrespectful posts should not be posted. No, I think that Ellie and them do a good job weeding out what to/or not to share on this blog! 😇
DeleteI wasn't being rude. It's okay to share a difference of opinion.
Delete1:03 I don't really see any comments that are hateful... passionate maybe, but not hateful.
DeleteMay I just say not all Christians have the same beliefs? Mainstream Christians do not interpret the Bible in the very literal way that fundementalists do. We are all still Christians, however.
DeleteMs. or Mr. 12:47: I am offended by your callous remarks. I have Muslim friends and neighbors. I live near a mosque, where I have visited and been welcomed with open arms. Never once have I heard any of those Muslims say a mean word about anyone...unlike the good Christians who frequent this board. What tests my tolerance most, and it doesn't matter what faith we're talking about, are sanctimonious people. I believe I have just heard from another one, unfortunately.
DeleteI would love to go and meet all of the Duggar family in person...i wish would come to Canada
ReplyDeleteOh this family is so grand! I just can't get enough of them :-)
ReplyDeleteWe are going to the creation museum and ark encounter in May. We are looking forward to the trip.
ReplyDeleteKen Ham and that ark... Look into how it was built, who funded it, and who gets hired there. While you're at it, read some of the things he's declared. It's eye-opening, and not very "Christian."
ReplyDeleteTim Ham should have had those carpenters tighten his loose screws.
ReplyDeleteJinger's back to wearing skirts I see. Wish she would have shown up there in a pair of pants. See if the sky fell.
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!
DeleteI've noticed that Alyssa Bates goes back to skirts too when her parents are around. I think it is just a sign of respect for the parents. I bet Jinger wears pants, among other things, when her parents are not around. Just my observation.
DeleteWhere is her parents' respect for Jinger now wanting to wear shorts (or pants)? Respect has to go both ways.
DeleteI remember when the Duggars went to the evolution museum on the original show. These are the types of shows themes the fans want - TLC bring back the entire family and story lines like this one. Also so good that Josh and family are being shown in pictures again.
ReplyDeleteI wish I even lived in the USA to go to the Ark... maybe one day :(
ReplyDeleteTake care everyone and God bless xx
I'm interested to know how the husbands (with the exception of Ben whom has never held a job outside the home) have so much time off to travel with their wives' family??? When Derick worked for Wal-Mart he was constantly on the RV traveling all over for lengths of time with the Duggars. Now, Jeremy, seems to have the same flexibility even though he is the new pastor at his Texas church.
ReplyDeleteLogically: The Duggar's are millionaires and help support the new families.
DeleteI heard Jeremy lost his pastor job.
DeleteNot a hater here at all, but in fair response to 3/29 @12:28PM...is there evidence of the Garden of Eden and Adam and Eve, serpent and all? The true origin of some things are really unknown because that's the way the Almighty wants it....to believe in Him without physical proof of existence..that's faith. We truly don't know anything for certain.
ReplyDeleteWhat evidence are you looking to find? That's an honest question, Adam and Eve did not die in the garden. All evidence including the serpent that was used, the trees and even Adam and Eve would have rotted away before any preservation could take place. Unless they were properly layer to rest it is doubtful that anything would survive, let alone the two exact humans you are looking for. In archeology we find so little it's usually a very poor representation of the past. Now if you are looking for the garden itself, there are many theories to where it was, as both rivers still bear the same names as when the book of Genesis was written. It certainly is on faith that the garden and what happened there existed. For myself however, I've seen enough evidence for the rest of the Bible to have no doubt.
DeleteGod bless
We know the Garden of Eden was in the Mesopotamian Region, as God defines the rivers in Genesis 2:10-14 (specifically the Tigris and the Euphrates). You will not find evidence of the actual Garden of Eden because of the worldwide flood in Noah's day (Genesis Chapters 6-9). The Book of Genesis in the Bible lay sit all out, including when the continents split apart during Peleg's lifetime (Genesis 10:25). Thousands of years after recorded history, modern Science recognizes that at some time in history all of the continents were actually joined as one land mass and something catastrophic occurred breaking them apart.
DeleteNothing "catastrophic" happened to break apart the super-continent Pangea. It's simple plate tectonics, which is still happening today (earthquakes, upthrusting, subduction, etc.). The Earth's crust has a "squishy" mantle and a molten core layer under it, so things are going to slide around like pepperoni sliding off the melted cheese on your pizza, especially if it was hot and you started spinning the pizza. The heat from the core still plays a part in these layers moving, heat leftover from Earth's formation, along with angular momentum from rotation. I know I generalized and glossed over things, but there you have it in a nutshell.
DeleteThis doesn't jive with the beginning of the Bible, but at some point, you have to put that book down and start believing in everyday science, too. In this case, it's right under your feet.
Anonymous April 1, 2017 at 7:38 PM- Thank you for the geology lesson regarding tectonic plates and the Earth's core for those who may be unfamiliar. I am not- I teach Science. Just because tectonic activity exists neither proves nor disproves a catastrophic event. You failed to address the anomalies in the numerous sedimentary fossil layers found worldwide that attest to a catastrophic flood event, as well as that nearly every known civilization shares a legend/story with a variation or theme of a catastrophic flood. Considering these civilizations were separated across varying continents (with some in complete isolation from any other for centuries), the possibility of a world wide catastrophic flood should, at the very least, be fully examined without personal bias (as you clearly have demonstrated with your closing remarks). A scientist has to be willing to consider all of the evidence even if he/she doesn't like where the evidence leads.
DeleteYour idea of "a" worldwide catastrophic flood (singular) is probably not true. Every strong hurricane or typhoon can bring a flood. Every strong earthquake can bring a tsunami. Every meteor impact can, too. We know about the tropical storm cycle. We've measured earthquakes and witnessed tsunamis. There is evidence of meteoric impact in the past and also the present. They could explain sediment, as well as volcanoes/super volcanoes and the climate changes they trigger. Different events and different floods could have been witnessed by different cultures over time, all of whom could have woven similar stories of watery destruction. There is no need to cling ONLY to the ark story while dismissing the other natural possibilities.
DeleteDon't confuse evidence with wishful thinking/faith. When you run out of evidence you keep looking, not make up a story to explain why you found what you did (or didn't).
I believe the Holy Bible & "In the beginning God...". I believe in forgiveness, redemption & restoration. I've been to the Creation Museum & Ark Encounter, which I enjoyed & is educational & beautiful. Without faith & trust in God, it is difficult to believe in creation. I do not believe anything evolued & changed into something or anything else. I believe that if you can't say kind, loving, gentle, good words to others to encourage, stay away & don't speak evil or hurtful words. No one is perfect & it is encouraging to many to see how a loving family deals with issues in/with love & without hate, cussing, & chaos. They never said they were perfect, the show is reality, which opens it to real situations & the attitude of their heart. I enjoyed The Duggers TV show & enjoy Counting On & their attitude of love has been a blessing to me. God bless all the Duggers & their extended family.
ReplyDeleteSince Michelle stated that skirt wearing is her personal belief, none of her daughters should be bound to wear them. Especially an adult married daughter. Jinger should be respected for HER beliefs too and wear pants, capris, OR shorts when she's around her family. They are not scandalous nor sinful. Respect works both ways.
ReplyDelete"A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on a body of facts that have been repeatedly confirmed through observation and experiment. Such fact-supported theories are not "guesses" but reliable accounts of the real world."
ReplyDeleteMARILYN R - as a biologist i can answer your question. Evolution does not say that apes evolved into humans. It does say that apes and humans share a recent common ancestor. Some species have 99% of the same DNA as humans do and that is because we both are products of evolution and we share a very recent(in evolutionary terms) common ancestor.
Thanks Anon 8:06. Good explanation. Hope it doesn't fall on deaf ears.
DeleteI like seeing Josh and Anna front and center, Anna's grace is so admirable. She has wisdom beyond her years, I would love to hear more from her, wish she would write a book!
ReplyDeleteMaybe when she is older. Now would not be a good time to write a book.
ReplyDeleteWow. Some extreme views here on creationism vs. science. One side is called ignorant and the other called the devil's work. I don't think God and science are incompatible at all; in fact, I don't think you can have one without the other. If you believe in an intelligent Creator, it stands to reason that our human brains have been given the capacity for scientific thinking and reasoning. Mankind has evolved over time in our acquisition of knowledge, much of it scientific. If it hadn't, we'd still be living in the stone age.
ReplyDeleteI choose to have faith that there is a Creator with a divine plan of some kind. I do so for the simple reason that I cannot fathom the alternative, that everything is random, without purpose. Believing as I do helps me put one foot in front of the other every day. On the other hand, I firmly denounce any idea that atheism, evolution or science is a work of the devil. The Bible was written by many different people and has been retranslated countless times. It's little wonder the world has been fighting over it for generations, and it's for this reason I refuse to join any organized religion or church. Instead, I choose to keep an open mind about God and science.
I guess I'm not allowed to defend myself by several people calling me non-Christian simply because I don't believe what they believe. I am Christian, but really that's between me and God. It gives no one the right the judge me. I'm done with this blog.
ReplyDelete3/31 @ 7:24....you are a very intelligent person and I respect your comment. I believe that neither extreme is the answer. It's a combination of both; creator and science. I'm a Christian too and I think believing the earth is 6,000 years old is not true. The literal story of the arc is just a story to make a bigger point.
ReplyDeleteIs there a way to write a letter to both Jinger and Joy? I know they live in separate places now. I was very impressed yet also heart broken for how they handled the double life of their brother. Not only did they have to deal with this pain, the whole world knew about it. I had a very close male family member who led a double life for years. In addition there was continuous covert incest for years. I didn't tell anyone for 20 years after it started because I thought no one would believe me. No one else has ever had any situation similar at all to my experience and finally, there is. I wanted to thank them for helping me know I'm not the only one who has had a family member lead a double life and the pain that brings. If I can't get their addresses (for security, etc), could you let them know they helped someone?
ReplyDeleteThe Duggar home mailing address is public record in their county. I think I've seen both a street address and a P.O. box address given over the years. Did you look on their website?
DeleteDear pro-Evolution Posters: While I may disagree with your opinion, I respect your right to have a differing opinion. You, however, feel no such compunction to extend common courtesy or respect to those who disagree with you (generally speaking). You demand that others respect your beliefs (and it is a belief),yet you are contemptuous and rude to those who disagree with you, treating them as though they lack intelligence and you are far more intellectually superior. Those who disagree with you would respect you far more if you practiced respect for others.
ReplyDeleteI never attacked you. I stated that there's evidence that supports evolution but I also argue that doesn't prove God didn't create the process. Also things aren't a belief if you substantial evidence. Belief is if you can't back up with physical evidence. I'm a Christian but unwavering beliefs can hurt believers. Christians once thought that a literal interpretation of the Bible meant the earth was flat and rainbows were supernatural. Did it stop people from believing when those were disproven.
Delete9:38- Many of the anti-evolution comments are very condescending in that they say this theory is 'of the devil' and dismiss it as a lie. That's hardly respectful.
DeleteI never attacked people on here either but I sure felt attacked. I believe pro evolutioners were called nonbelievers, ignorant of Biblical teachings and basically hell bound. This is a conflictive topic and nobody will change anyone's mind. We will all have to agree to disagree.
