Baby Seewald is one day old, but his parents have not yet decided on a name. It took Jessa and Ben Seewald five days to settle on Spurgeon Elliot Seewald for their first son.
What name suggestions do you have, now that you have seen the baby (photo below)? Also, do you think he looks like his older brother? (Scroll down for a picture of newborn Spurgeon.)

I think Nolan is an adorable name. I don't see much similarities between the two just yet, but he's only 1 day old so... :D
ReplyDeleteI think he looks more like Jessa. If you are settling with a S name thing, you could go with:
ReplyDeleteSamuel
Spencer
Stanley
Sam
Steve
Sean
Scott
Steven
Seth
Sebastian
Sawyer
DeleteAwesome! I thought the same thing. So many strong S names to choose.
DeleteHere's some more S names..
DeleteSterling
Spencer
Saban
Sawyer
Sanders
Shepard
Simmons
Stokely
Saylor
Seager
Stern
Sasser
Sanderson
I love the name Sebastian❤
DeleteI love Sebastion also!!
DeleteSalmon or Sherlock
DeleteI like Sebastian too! 💙
DeleteHe is precious! I think Asher or Elias are great names for strong boys. We have a Samuel and Jonah, which are great names as well. Congrats on the new wee one.
ReplyDeleteMy son's name is Elias!
DeleteI love the name but some family members even my husband were confused. They're like it's not a family name...
Did Derick paint Jessa's toenails for this picture, the way he always painted Jill's when she couldn't reach her toes while pregnant?
ReplyDeleteJessa isn't married to Derick. Read the post. Ben and jessa seewald.
DeleteBe nice
DeleteWhy would Derick paint his sister in laws toes?
DeleteSon idénticos!!
ReplyDeleteHave they thought of the name Matthew? It is an adorable classic! And maybe a middle name that starts with J to honor her family. So happy for them!!! May God bless that sweet baby!
ReplyDeleteAgree that Matthew's a great, classic, masculine name -- but maybe too traditional for them. They like to really get way out there with names.
DeleteM names are probably off limits. Josh and Anna might use that someday. Max is also cute, but again the M jurisdiction belongs to Josh and Anna.
DeleteCall him Smith, for Smith Wigglesworth.
ReplyDeleteThey would probably go with Wigglesworth over Smith, since they named their firstborn Spurgeon
DeleteBoth are absolutely beautiful and precious and yes I think they favor one another! Although it looks like Baby Seewald 2 has lighter hair. Congratulations to you all!!! Can't wait to find out his name.
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a Mathew or nathiel
ReplyDeleteI think he looks more like Ben, where Spurgeon looks like Jessa.
ReplyDeleteThey are both adorable. Congratulations on both blessings from God.
I agree
DeleteYou'd think it was the same baby! So cute!
ReplyDeleteI have been waiting for this little bundle of joy to arrive. I have watched every episode since this show first began. Jessa you are an amazing momma to Spurgeon and I can wait to see you with this new edition to the Seewald clan.Your family has kept me the most uplifted because I here recently was diagnosed with cancer in my tailbone. I can wait to see you guys and what a beautiful family you all create. (: God bless you and your family.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteWhat I not get that you have no name after 9 months of pregnancy. Maybe Bob is a name? Nice for grandpa!
Especially in this difficult years?
Wilma
Silas, Solomon, Spencer, Stevie, Sawyer or Samuel sound good. But I'm sure you will pick out something cool. Congrats guys. He is a cutie. Can't wait to see this episode. Love you show and your family. Not many shows me and my daughter can watch together. Keep up the great work. Your such a blessing ❤😘
ReplyDeleteLove those !!!!since she decided on spurgeon I'm sure she gonna go the same route with a different name ....I think they know the names just waiting to cash in more money !esp being the first kid they had most people know the names they want as soon as they start expecting .
DeleteCongratz Jessa, Ben & Spurgeon on your little kiddo/baby brother❤
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they go with all "S"-names. If they do, I think Sebastian or Silas would be awesome! But I would like Liam or James better! Excited to see what they'll pick!
Please no more James they have enough of those !
DeleteSamuel Michael or Samuel Robert, he favors Spurgeon a little, Spurgeon had more hair.
ReplyDeleteOh he is precious...what an incredible gift from the Lord! Congratulations, Jessa and Ben...
ReplyDeleteLittle brother has lighter and less hair. I like the names Samson or Samuel. You both are doing great as parents. Proud of you both.
ReplyDeleteElliot, Evan, Eliah
ReplyDeletename him baby Seewald
ReplyDeleteBenjamin
ReplyDeleteSamuel James
ReplyDeleteI think baby #2 looks like his mom more.
ReplyDeleteWhat ever name they decide on will be great for them.
So cute! I was thinking Baby Seewald was a girl, but he's still adorable. And he was born only one day later than I thought! I think he does look like Spurgeon, at least a little bit. Congrats to Jessa, Ben, Big Brother, Spurgeon, and all the aunts and uncles, cousins, grandparents, and any other family members!
ReplyDeleteYes, he does look like Spurgeon! Adorable!
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a Samuel to me. Adorable!
ReplyDeleteEli Elijah Kevin William Hunter Dylan Jake Matthew Elliot James named middle name of his big brother Alan Christopher Christian Stephen Your child name it what y'all want he is looks like his big brother Beautiful
ReplyDeleteLet's call him David. A normal, Biblical name, that doesn't start with JJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJ!
ReplyDeleteHe looks so adorable and the name Patrick came to mind. Such a strong name.
ReplyDeleteI think they look alike. I'm not sure what they should name him. Many of your blog readers in a past post came up with some really great names from the Bible and Christians who have influenced their lives.
ReplyDeleteI do see Jessa & Spurgeon in the 2nd picture. I see Ben in the first picture. Simply precious! A true gift from God. Many blessing!!
ReplyDeleteI love the name Samuel for this one. Especially if they were sticking with S names. He has blonder looking hair but same face as Spurgeon. So cute God Bless

ReplyDeleteI like the Name sebastian
ReplyDeleteHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL !!!!! PLEASE DONT NAME HIM AFTER A FISH........PAUL....MARK DAVID....
ReplyDeleteAre you thinking of sturgeon? Their first son is named Spurgeon after a preacher.
DeleteAre you referring to Spurgeon? The sturgeon is a fish, Spurgeon is a last name.
DeleteSebastian. For baby seewald
ReplyDeleteHe looks exactly like Spurgeon but less hair and lighter coloring. He's gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteSebastian

DeleteSeth
DeleteAdorable! I think he could be a Thomas, Isaac, Miles or Easton.
ReplyDeleteI think he resembles Spurgeon, but definitely has his own look. He's a cutie!
ReplyDeleteNames (trying to go with the unusual Spurgeon vein)... Boaz Lewis, Chambers Lewis, Crosby Chambers, Crosby Newton, Graham Lewis, Livingstone Chambers
They're naming a child, not a band. Sorry but Livingstone for a first name??
DeleteWinston Graham
ReplyDeleteHow's about Sebastian sage seewald
ReplyDeleteSolomon is a name that just popped into my head when I saw the picture. I don't even know where that came from. I don't know anyone with that name. But he sure is a cutie. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteBenjamin Jr.
ReplyDeleteI think he looks like a Gideon! :) Congratulations Ben, Jessa and Baby Spurge. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat about Aaden Nehemiah?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite he does look like his brother except lighter :)
DeleteHudson Isaiah
ReplyDeleteWilliam (as in Tyndale)
ReplyDeleteThey may use Tyndale!
DeleteYes he looks like his big brother I think that the Mom and Dad will find a good name of the baby but since you ask if they want to stay with the "S' how about Samuel.
ReplyDeleteyou can name him Daniel or John they are strong names from the bible
ReplyDeleteThey seem to have very unique taste when naming their kids. However, here are my suggestions.
ReplyDeleteMilo
Emmett
Abbott
Addington
Graham
Milo is the name of my beatyful dog, anyway they do have a name but wanted to keep it a few days for them selfs
DeleteSamuel Micha
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a Spencer ...
ReplyDeleteI think he looks like a Spencer .. I'm sure what ever name you decide on it will suit him to a T xx
ReplyDeleteThey do look a lot alike. But Spurgeon has a lot more hair, so I think baby #2 will have lighter or blonder hair. I have no clue what his name will be! Obviously they like to step out into the more unusual.
ReplyDeleteI think they are different. Mostly in the hair so far. SPURGIE had more hair that was darker and wavy. Their features are different too
ReplyDeleteTozer
ReplyDeleteSeth
ReplyDeletePence
ReplyDeleteSamuel Eli
ReplyDeleteSamuel David
ReplyDeleteThey do not look that much alike different nose and chin look more like Ben. Maybe name him Benjamen Charle after his dad and Chareles Spurgeon
ReplyDeleteScofield (for C. I Scofield) Franklin (for Franklin Graham).
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a baby doll! I can really see their similarities, especially their eyes and mouths.
ReplyDeleteHe's just precious!
ReplyDeleteName Suggestions:
Easton
Charles (Charlie)
Tovar (he's a preacher I've seen Jessa post some things from)
Wesley
I hope all is going well for the Seewalds and that momma and baby are happy and healthy ❤
I didn't see the name Stewart, if you want to stick with S.
ReplyDeleteWilliam Graham for the great Billy Graham!!!! Congratulations he is precious.
ReplyDeleteThey did a fabulous job choosing a name, last time...hope they continue the good job.
ReplyDeleteShaalim..a city or land....1Samuel 9:4..ASV. Pronounced Shaylim. Micah is a great name, also.
This name secrecy is likely just for more publicity, just like keeping the sex of the baby under wraps. I would bet they've had a name picked out for quite some time.
ReplyDeleteSo Adorable. I love the names Kingsley or Quincy
ReplyDeleteJonathan Wesley :)
ReplyDeleteShaalim ...1Samuel 9:4....Saul passed through the land of Shaalim (prounced Shaylim)

ReplyDeleteAsa,I bet they don't use the same letter
ReplyDeleteFindlay
ReplyDeleteCongratulations....another beautiful baby boy. Name suggestions would be, Stephen, Samuel or Stanley(Charles Stanley) if you are using S. or Asher or Ezra:)
ReplyDeleteI think since you named Spurgeon Elliott partly after Jim Elliot that Nathan after Nate Saint would be cute. It really doesn't matter he is a doll.
ReplyDeleteAdoniram, Lidell, Brainerd (inspired Jim Elliot so...?), Saint (maby little to much om the nose), Townsend...
ReplyDeleteI will eat my shoe if they name this baby boy Benjamin jr
Precious gift.
ReplyDeleteHe seems older and wiser than Spurgy and his hands appear larger.
They are definitely brothers with a few common traits but this one has stronger features.
I hope he remains happy and healthy.
I'm also sure they will come up with a unique name. I hope it's a pleasant one this time.
Congratulations Jess's and Ben! I think this baby does favor his big brothet, though somewhat different. Both are adorable! Samuel, Sage, or Spencer are all great names if you are going with an S names, Lance, Gabe,And Nicholas (Nick for short), are all strong boy names. 😊🍼👶🏻 God Bless y'all and your precious little baby boys.

I think Baby boy #2 has fuller lips and lighter hair than Spurgeon.
Both are as adorable as can be.
Congratulations to all of you!
Beautiful baby, looks intelligent. Also notable is that he has large hands. I don't know what is the right name.
ReplyDeleteI like Solomon paired with Spurgeon and Solomon sounds nice with Quincy too!
ReplyDeleteWow. Both Jessa and Jill's first two kids are boys. How funny!
ReplyDeleteSimeon Seewald! So cute! Looks like Spurgeon but with less hair.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! What about Livingston Taylor after two great missionaries? 😊
ReplyDeleteConlan
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you 3. He is so adorable but he looks so big. He looks like a month baby. I think he looks more like himself. Don't really see much of any of them. Blondie! Okay let's get away from the same first letter. I think you need to pick a good strong name like you did for Spurgeon. I really love a strong name like William (Billy) Graham. He is such a great man. William Benjamin. Give him a name he will proud of. Again Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteI am so honored that he shares the same birthday as me. Made my day brighter for sure. Any name you pick will be great. I like Zane
ReplyDeleteHis hair is lighter and his head is more round than his big brother but that could be due to Spurgeon being in birthing canal to long..I do think his lips looks like big brothers. I like the name.....Salomon....what ever they name him will be fine....I have looked for days to see if he had arrived. Congratulations....can't wait to hear details.
ReplyDeleteIf sticking with S names: Samuel, Samson, Saul, Salvator, Seth, Silas, Simeon, Simon, Solomon or Shiloh. Then there's Spencer, Sterling, Skylar, Stephen, or Sydney.Very excited to hear what they decide...
ReplyDeleteChristian James
ReplyDeleteBeautiful boy. Some similarities. Solomon is a good name
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I was really thinking it could have been a girl this time! He is adorable and there is a resemblance :). How about Robert James Seewald?
ReplyDeleteI am wondering if they are anti-girl because it just so coincidental that they all have boys but no girls. Taken that they were so called victims of abuse, they don't want to handle the outcomes if their kid is hurt in a way? These girls need mental help because if they don't it will catch up to them and they won't be mentally healthy. I've seen someone who didn't get help for their abuse and they turned mental. Why isn't anybody concerned about their health? Having kids is not going to curb their past and make them move on because being in denial will have huge consequences. If they choose to put it aside then I hope they seek counseling in the near future.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all you should probably read a book on reproduction. You really are confused about how having a boy or a girl is determined. Second I don't think we need to rehash all this again, but at the time everyone was concerned about the girls' health.
DeleteThis is a joyous time to celebrate a beautiful new life......why did you bring up such a sad piece of the past?
DeleteCorbin Joseph Seewald
ReplyDeleteJackson Ezekial
ReplyDeleteI think the name Shiloh is a good name.
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is this baby is so cute❤
ReplyDeleteI think the two boys look pretty similar, although this one looks like he may be a towhead to me :) Spurgeon had/has much darker hair than his brother.
ReplyDeleteSilas Ezra and or Samuel Ryan. He's absoulety adorable can't wait to see what name they choose.
ReplyDeleteLoving the suggestions of Gideon, Solomon, Samson, & Calvin! Along that vein, Tyndale, maybe? I wouldn't normally suggest it, but I feel like it does fit with dear little Spurgeon's name. Or they could go with a "bridge" name of sorts that bridges the style of Spurgeon's name and maybe a little more "traditional" names. Calvin could definitely do that. It's not an unheard of given name, and it still ties in with the "Heroes of Faith" theme I remember them talking about when Spurgeon was born.
ReplyDeleteI also think choices Hiram, Rockwell, Ezra, Declan, Owen, Oliver, Griffith, Hawthorn(e), Aaron, Fletcher, Malachi, Joachim, Ruben, Wesley (ooh, another one that fits "Heroes of the Faith" theme!), Simeon, Tobias, and Callahan would all be very striking names for this little guy! :) (Can you tell I like discussing names? Ha!)
Very excited to see what Ben and Jessa decide!!
Samuel or Noah!
ReplyDeleteHe looks like he has more blonde hair then Spurgeon did :o
Nathaniel is a cute name! Then, could nickname him Nate or Nathan. Or how about Noah?

ReplyDeleteSmith Wigglesworth - great evangelist. Could nickname him 'Wiggle' ;)
ReplyDeleteHudson Taylor - missionary to China
Billy Graham - evangelist
Martyn Lloyd Jones - Welsh minister revivalist.....
Graham Benjamin. Graham for Billy Graham, another great evangelist and hero of the faith like Charles Spurgeon. Benjamin after his daddy of course, especially since he looks like he has Ben's lighter features. Benjamin also means "Son of my right hand" and has biblical significance. Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteI like the name Graham! Graham Benjamin has a nice ring to it. I agree that both Billy and Franklin Graham both preach the truth and are wonderful evangelists.
DeleteCongratulations. If you are doing s, then I think Sebastian cause it fits for the names not used often
ReplyDeleteJohn Paul
ReplyDeleteBenedict
Francis
All awesome evangelists!!!!
What's going on with Anna and Josh? Are they actually getting a divorce? recent articles have said this is true and that there are a few other civil suits expected to come against Josh. Just wanted to confirm what is actually true or not.
ReplyDeleteHe is absolutely adorable!Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteQuincy , the nickname they had for spurgeon would be really cute for baby #2
ReplyDeleteNathaniel Jacob.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Ben, Jessa and Spurgeon. Perhaps an 'S' name like Spencer or Sterling for your handsome young man. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteIsaiah Dean
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to imagine what follows Spurgeon, but if they want another preacher name, maybe Edwards? Graham? Judson?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to You and your Families! He's precious! My name suggestions are Abel,Gideon, Saul, or Solomon, but of course whatever you decide will be special I'm sure!Bless you all!
ReplyDeleteI think he looks like Alexander or maybe a Thomas
ReplyDeleteLewis (or Louis) after author C.S. Lewis.
