Readers have been asking if this season will just be an extended rerun of Jinger's wedding, but we assure you that TLC has plenty of new content in store.
In addition to watching Jinger Duggar choose her wedding dress and make preparations for her big day, the episodes will also feature updates from the rest of the Duggar siblings. Among other exciting footage, watch as Joy-Anna Duggar enters a courtship with Austin Forsyth, Jessa and Ben Seewald take advantage of their last months of life with just one child, and Jill and Derick Dillard talk to a doctor about Derick's health (promo video below). And before Jinger ties the knot and moves away, the Duggar sisters gather for one last hurrah...a bachelorette party!
So glad to hear Derrick is getting checked out! Hopefully the doctor does a full work up on him and not just for the gaggy feeling Derrick described in the video.
ReplyDeleteEver been checked for physical activity asthma. Lots of runners and swimmers have asthma attacks while running or swimming making them cough and gag a lot
DeleteHi Deryck! A few years ago I started choking and gagging when I talked, ate, exercised, etc..after several tests, doctors and specialists..an esophagus specialist from Washington University in St Louis MO told me after conducting my second endoscope and a motility test that I was having severe esophageal spasms. He was not sure what had caused my nerves in my esophagus to get so sensitive...but he warned me to never let anyone operate on my esophagus. He called my condition nut cracker esophagus. Hope this helps. Dina
DeleteI was watching with my boys and they suggested you work with a running coach. They seem to think the running posture they saw could aggravate any other issues you have. Obviously, it won't be a 100% fix, but they seem to think it will help with what they saw during running. HTH!
DeleteI'm excited for the new season!
ReplyDeleteJust one thing. ...Flame???
Again? That concert did not look christian at all. He's a nice guy and all but please no more flame.
Agree!
DeleteWhat does Christian look like exactly?
DeleteA Christian should aim to act like Jesus, whatever they do they should be comfortable doing in front of Him. I love the Duggars, but I personally do not see FLAME's concerts and music as God-honoring.
DeleteGod bless,
Holly
Actually flame is a Christian rapper and I personally got to meet him face to face at a Christian youth convention and he's so amazing
DeleteYes.... what exactly does a Christian look like?
DeleteLike many people in here say, if you don't like it than don't watch it 😊 I do want to watch the concert...
GO FLAME!!!'
As Christians, we are to live a life of holiness
Deleteand purity. The Bible tells us to be unspotted
from the world. We are to be different from the
rest of the world. Even though we still sin,
we are to strive for holiness.
I'd like to know what Christian looks like, also. I think it's probably much different than many of us think.
DeleteWow,look Christian? I am so thankful that my heavenly Father isn't looking for people who "look"....
DeleteJust because you don't like rap doesn't mean it can't be Christian!!! I have heard some very powerful Christian rap and I have enjoyed it. Not everyone was raised listening to harps.
DeletePeople said the same thing about coffee House's in the 70s. It takes different approaches to spread the word and reach different generations.
DeleteWhen my husband and I were first married we were part of a Christian motorcycle ministry called Reborn Riders. Our ministry was to reach out those men and women who were involved in motorcycle gangs, recovering addicts etc. When were out in ministry we were on motorcycles. We probably looked scary but when we shared Jesus people who we were ministering with relaxed. And no because of being on motorcycles we didn't "look" Christian but we lived Christian lives and people knew were Christians by our actions.
DeleteAnd please don't think I'm coming down on you all who were being critical of Flame. I'm just sharing that once upon a time, I used to have ideas on how a Christian is supposed to look.
His message is powerful and can appeal to an urban demographic as well. More power to him.
DeleteThe very first Christian concert I went to, I was about 23 it was a Christian rock concert. I was skeptical about going, but my college Bible group was going. I was raised up on Mahalia Jackson, James Cleveland, and others gospel artists. The group we saw was(I'm dating myself now!) The Darrell Mansfield Band. It was 1984.I have to say, I was impressed and enjoyed this concert. I really believe that God can use non traditional means if you will, to reach people for Christ. Whether that be through loud music or the Christian motorcycle club I mentioned in my first reply which as of this comment hasn't come through yet.
DeleteThose rapper hats are awful, i have never liked them on anyone. But the show looks interesting an fun, glad to see them let loose some.
DeleteAnon@2:48 Religion is great as long as it is taken in moderation.
DeleteAnon@4:47- I suppose you can quote a Bible verse that spells out exactly how a "Christian" concert should look.
Delete"Look Christian"? Thankfully God sees what's in our hearts, right?
DeleteBen is friends with Flame. O well, it is Ben's decision who he wants to be friends with. Don't like it? Don't watch.
Deleteare we going to hear more about John David, Jana, Josiah and Joseph? There wasn't a single word about them in the promo. Seems like you only get air time if you are getting married, in a courtship or having a baby. Please fill us in on the other kids!
ReplyDeleteYes yes yes...I Agree...please more of the rest of the kids.I miss them dearly, we have watched them grow and their significance in the family is just as show worthy as the rest of the married and courting ones, The little ones would be nice to hear from every now and again also, we went thru so much with Josie's path and then we were abandoned some what, you CAN love from a far, we felt connected deep to that whole situation, so yeah, it would b nice to throw us a bone every now and then.
DeletePerhaps they prefer to keep a low profile. If so, I respect them for it.
DeleteThat's just gross Derick.
ReplyDeleteWhat so gross about him going to the doctor
DeleteI think they meant him retching on a nationally-televised show.
DeleteIt's gross? Geez, what you're going to do if you watches workout shows on TV? There be lot of gagging and puking. Get over it..
DeletePraying Derick is okay, can't wait to watch the show, so many things going on with the family.......
ReplyDeleteI hope he feels better, it would be good for them to stay in America until they pinpoint what's wrong :/ He has looked pretty sick, mostly thought it was just from his dental surgery. Hopefully it's nothing serious.
ReplyDeletederick hopeful was tested for microbug viruses after had lived in 2 different countries an few yrs. this is from eating un-washed under cooked foods and drinking dirty water, biten by bugs which all make any1 sick lose weight an bunch other stuff too.
DeleteI agree! You can tell Derrick has changed since he first met Jill and has lost weight.I think its good he is back in America and can get good medical care to see if he has any medical issue that need treatment.
DeleteYes I agree with you. He looks like he has been sick a long time and his jaw looks askew the poor man. i pray he is alright.
DeleteGee, TLC, thanks for the video of someone gagging. :-P Was that really a good idea?
ReplyDeleteThat's a reality show for ya! Man gagging equals more viewers.
DeleteIt's about time Derick went to the doctor. People have been saying something's wrong for a long time. Hyperthyroid, Grave's, Marfan's, something.
ReplyDeleteHe does have Grave's he would be falling down and would be able to walk.
DeleteDo you know what Graves disease is?
DeleteHe could have intestinal worms. Living in a Central American country, you have to deworm yourself every six months because their isn't much sanity in those countries and can easily get worms.
Deleteif he has graves disease he would be able to walk? is he unable to walk?
DeleteHyperthyroidism is Graves disease... and marfan's syndrome? Very doubtful.
DeleteI have been vomiting for a few months and finally a doctor found that I have a lymphoma on the duodenum. Hard to diagnose. He should have that checked
DeletePlease, no more Flame. No more Ben trying to be like Flame. (head in hands)
ReplyDeleteI agree 100%
DeleteTotally AGREE!!!!!!!
DeleteWhat is your issue with Flame? He is a very positive uplifting christian with a great message and such a good friend and a good example for others to follow!!!
DeleteI respect Ben for doing more than following the usual Duggar party line.
DeleteI'd rather listen to chalk squeak on a blackboard than rap music.
DeleteIs it necessary to have Derrick hurling his guts up on camera?
ReplyDeleteTLC must think so....
DeleteThe Lurching Channel?
DeleteI am so thankful they are getting him to a doctor. His recent pictures have looked less healthy than his previous pictures. Prayers for the family.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to know Derick has sought medical care. He really hasn't looked healthy in months! Hoping it's something easily taken care of with a life style change or medicine.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, this promo video makes me really wish I had cable to watch this show!
ReplyDeleteI'm so hyped up for next week! However, they're being rather vague when it comes to Joystin's courtship. I'm still got that feeling it's similar to Josiarjorie's courtship at the end of 19 KAC.
ReplyDeleteFor a supposed fan, you sure seem to have the strange couple nicknames down pat. ??
DeleteAnonymous, they're ship names, never heard of it? It occurres when you create a nickname for a couple by merging the names of the two people together. It's meant in a cute way!
DeleteMaybe you are not the fan? I just thought it was misspelled names due to autocorrect
DeleteIt's the mashed up names, on purpose. Usually used on non-fan blogs.
DeleteJoystin! That's a good one.
DeleteShip names are used by fans too, they usually do it for fictional couples on tv shows.
DeleteSuper James you are starting to sound like a scarey stalker! You might want to consider getting professional help.
DeleteIt's a general cultural meme. Has nothing to do with "fan/non fan blogs". Doesn't any one here remember "Bennifer" (Ben Affleck / Jennifer Lopez)
DeleteSuperJames, you are starting to sound like a stalker, and I think you might need to see about getting professional help.
DeleteAnon. 9:17; TBH, the first "shipped" name I ever heard was in CSI Cyber when they mentioned Brangelina.
DeleteAnon. 12:35; how exactly am I sounding like a stalker when I'm in no way inclining that. Also, due to my circumstances, it's rather difficult to get that kind of help. #ComplexSituation.
I have to agree with no more Flame. I'm glad his music is positive, but it's been enough already.
ReplyDeleteThe Duggars have repeatedly highlighted many ministries, many genuinely awkward moments in serving in and with different cultures and backgrounds. The episodes are about bringing the hope of Christ in unity. They show the greatness of God and the wideness of His Love for all. They also show the beauty of humility and the joy of Christian fellowship. Kudos, TLC, Ben and Flame!
DeleteBoy, reading these comments...Derick sure can't win with some viewers, can he?
ReplyDeleteI love ❤️ the show, and I am glad that you are coming on ,On Monday it take the place of other channel.
ReplyDeletePlease put a warning up about this video! Some people are super sensitive to medical/body noises.
ReplyDeleteUgh. Seriously could do without watching other people gag and barf. Some people are really sensitive to that kind of thing
ReplyDeleteAgreed , that is something that could have been edited out.
DeleteIt's not just about being sensitive: even if you're not sensitive to it, it's just gross. I agree that the scene should have been edited out (or not filmed in the first place: why did they even do it?
DeleteAgree, too! No ne needs to see that!
DeleteWhat really makes it strange is that they say nothing (anywhere, online or on TV) about Derick's health and then all of a sudden, they show him choking and gagging on TV?! They were waiting to make that a story line? Yuck!
DeleteEllie you should have out a warning. My stomach turned when I saw Derick retching.
DeleteI hope that Derek is ok I can't wait till the show comes on
ReplyDeleteFLAME!!!!! Yaayyy...,😊
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Derick caught something in Central America. The doctor might tell he not to go back to Central America
ReplyDeleteI doubt it; he was looking very unhealthy prior to leaving.
DeleteI hope it's not zika!
DeleteI think it is no surprise that there is nothing wrong with Derick, they probably just used this as a storyline as the internet is full of speculations about his health.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing. So often TLC tells us they have a special annoucement or Jessa is expecting twins (how many times have they said that, anyway?) or suggesting that someone is courting when they are not? I wouldn't be surprised at all if there is nothing wrong with Derick but he was retching because he wasn't used to running in the heat. So tired of TLC's lame story lines, sorry.
DeleteI'm praying Derrick is OK. God is a kind and loving God and able to work mightily for those who trust Him.
ReplyDeleteFlame may be more flamboyant than most of us are used to. I see great potential to reach the youth of this country who need the Lord so badly. God bless him and his mission he feels called to.
Looking forward to the new season. DVR is ready to go!
I enjoy the episodes with Flame and Ben highlighting their joint ministry to bring hope, specifically the hope of Christ, to young people of all cultures and social or economic status. Both of these young men are risking the genuine awkwardness that comes from a collision of dissimilar backgrounds in order to inspire unity and fellowship. Thank you, TLC, for sharing and I hope you continue to highlight their work. Bless them both!
ReplyDeleteBen is the only one in the family who has displayed an ability to think for himself. It seems to be rubbing off on Jessa as well. Good for them.
DeleteShow me one young person who was going to be an atheist but changed their mind when they heard Christian rap. I think that's putting a pretty lofty religious goal on something so worldly.
DeleteI don't like Ben jumping around, either, enticing other young people to get so physical with the beat of the music. I thought that was the very thing the Duggars and their friends discouraged?
Anon@10:10 Chill. If that's the worst thing Ben does, I think it's a safe bet that he won't be losing his salvation over it.
DeleteI do agree with you. It does appear worldly and
Deletewe as Christians should not look or act like
the world. I feel the same about Christian rock.
It is taking the worlds idea of music and just
changing the words to sound Christian.
Dancing is totally Biblical. Psalms 149 and 150 come to mind. But it's all over both the Old and New Testament. Why focus on the speck in your brother's eye when you have a plank in your own? Stop criticizing these good families.
DeleteThe "world's version of music". So because you don't like the style you're still against it even though there's a positive message? Unbelievable
DeleteI see in this trailer for the NEW season that they're including Jinger's wedding day and ceremony. We have already seen that, TLC, please don't waste any more new air time with re-running the old. You're loosing your viewing audience by doing that yet again.
ReplyDeleteMaybe his health diagnosis will finally quiet the masses of folks who keep wondering what's up.I hope they get to the bottom of his issues, I really really do.
ReplyDeleteBeing recorded, hopefully they have made some progress. As a viewer we may not really get clear details until the coming season is over.
DeleteI just hope he received the help he needed so he can be a healthy Dad to his children and manage a steady job to support them.
He had a steady job at WalMart and left it.
DeleteWhy would any of "the masses" have to be quiet? If you find out someone is sick, being quiet about it accomplishes nothing.
DeleteI pray there is nothing life-threatening wrong with Derick.. he does not look well.
ReplyDeleteNew season will prolly be full of rewind and stock footage again. And it never really follows the other sugar adult children.
ReplyDeleteThis season looks boring. Same old stuff. We get it: the Duggars court and have babies and go on mission trips. Show us something we haven't seen 100 times already.
ReplyDeleteHope everything is alright with Derick. Prayers for complete recovery from his health problems.
ReplyDeleteJoan,Marion and Marilyn
Derick hasn't looked healthy for quite some time. I'm glad to hear he's seeing a doctor. Hopefully, it's nothing major and it's easily remedied.
ReplyDeleteWhy aren't the younger Duggar children on the show more and the boys??Would love to see the boys take a trip together.
ReplyDeleteThey took the under 18 kids off the show when they brought it back as "Counting On."
DeleteMinors on set have to be accompanied by a parent. Figure out how that would work.
DeleteI like Flame, he likes to joke around and he is funny and he makes me laugh. He's not all serious, he's Flame. Why can't we just enjoy the show.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stupid question Jill asked Jinger (and I think she realized it). You try on as many dresses as you need to till you find the one.
ReplyDeleteWhy do they put rap and retching on their shows? I will not be looking forward to this season and may stay away.
ReplyDeleteThe rap segments with Flame may be in an effort to "be relative/stay current" and gain or maintain viewing numbers. The retching is just coarse, no two ways about it. TMI-too much information. I think TLC is largely determining the direction of the show (sadly enough), judging by: the amount of rerun footage; projects that seem to only benefit the Duggars themselves (like the playhouse); showcasing the ordinary (raising a garden); filming the immodest (birth scene segments); trumpeting the shallow (putting together a fashion "look"/hair & makeup tutorials/weekend getaways). It feels like the Duggars have become servants to the network, rather than the network serving them with a platform for their values. It feels like everything is engineered with ratings in mind-it's lost any authenticity it had. So, the story lines feel either forced or stale and the show comes across as struggling. The adult children getting married and having children isn't all that unique and can only carry the show so far. I think they'd be better served by "returning to their roots" and doing what they did, the way they did, before they had a show. I think they all would be much happier too, individually and as a family. Quite a few of the family members seem very stressed in a lot of the episodes and pictures.
ReplyDeleteMy mother in law had problems with gagging. She had many tests, had her esophagus stretched, went to gastroenterologist, etc. It turned out she was allergic to Gluten and potatoes. At first, her throat would close up just a little bit and would make her gag. She didnt realize her throat was closing up. Later, she was having trouble swallowing. Then she started gagging and throwing up. The food allergy was causing mucus and antiphalactic shock. First, with minor symptoms and more severe as time went on. It was an easy fix once she stopped eating Gluten and potatoes. Problem totally went away. It was amazing to us no Dr. suggested that might be the problem. Her daughter decided to experiment eliminating different foods, gluten first to see if that was the problem. Then, potatoes. People with Gluten allergies often have trouble with potatoes. That solved the problem. Good luck. I hope you find out what's wrong. God bless you.
