Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar on their wedding day
Did you know that Michelle Duggar wore Grandma Duggar's wedding dress when she married Jim Bob in July 1984? As a gift from their mom and grandma, both Jill Duggar and Jessa Duggar had a piece of that gown on their person when they walked down the aisle in 2014.
In the deleted scene below, dress designer Renee Miller suggests doing the same for Jinger Duggar. She asks permission from Michelle to sew a piece of the vintage wedding gown into the lining of Jinger's dress, right next to her heart.

Although that's a nice thing to do, I don't think it's worthy of a full headline here. Let's PLEASE move ON from Jinger's wedding dress already. Why post a picture from her parents' wedding that we have seen multiple times already? New content, please.
ReplyDeleteNobody made you click on this post. If you don't like it don't look at it! I enjoy all the posts here as well as many others. I don't understand why people think it's ok to come to come to this blog willingly and then complain about it. They can post whatever they want and if it's on a subject that you are sick of hearing about then just don't click on it. Easy enough!
DeleteJust move on if there's something your not interested in that cause I can't get enough of them . Helps me think of special things in life instead of my boring life. But it's all good
DeleteThank you! I am so sick of hearing about wedding stuff.
DeleteI've never seen that picture and I enjoyed getting to see it. Beautiful dress. A little bit of an inspiration for Jinger's choice, perhaps?
DeleteAgree!!!!!!!!!
DeleteAgree; except what is there to "move on" to?
DeleteWhy not anything from Mrs. Vuolo? She has only ONE daughter. Perhaps there would have been something nice for Jinger to incorporate from HIS family when walking down the aisle. The Duggar pickles found their way in to the GROOM'S family's rehearsal dinner, didn't they? Michelle has 6 more girls to go.
ReplyDeleteTo word it that way implies that you know for sure, absolutely, 100% that she didn't. ...and unless you are Mrs. Vuolo, you don't. We don't have every detail and we didn't hear every discussion.
DeleteMaybe she offered something?
DeleteThat is just so neat.....
ReplyDeleteVideo freezes after she says "ask a couple of questions" and then it says content is currently unavailable. Not sure that it's my computer, because YouTube videos play OK right now. Not the first time I've been unable to see videos embedded on your site.
ReplyDeleteI can't get it to play, and it won't play on TLC's site, either.
DeleteThe same thing is happening to me and it even does it on the TLC website also
DeleteI notice she calls her Miss Renee. Do the adult Duggar kids continue to call other adults by Miss and Mr even into adulthood? I realize it's a form of respect.
ReplyDeleteLiving in the deep south, I can tell you that any adult who permits you to address them by their first name, you ALWAYS put Miss or MR ahead of it. I was taught this and my kids were taught the same. It conveys respect. Common here. Also, we ALWAYS use ma'am and sir reguardless of age. All adults are addressed in that manner. The Miss used instead of ma'am just shows familiarity along with respect.
DeleteThat's a southern thing. I still refer to my childhood best friend's mom as Miss "first name" and her dad as Mr "last name" and I'm in my 30's.
DeleteWhy would you put "Miss" in front of a married woman's name? That's crazy. And a little demeaning.
DeleteIts not seen as demeaning to use Miss in front of a grown woman's name. That's how its done in the south. If you're not from the south but maybe visiting? You know what they say, "when in Rome.......
DeleteI'm called Miss Regina and I'm not from the south. I don't find it demeaning at all. It is a sign of respect. We were taught as children to always address adults as Ma'am and sir as well as my parents were from the south.
DeleteThat is so beautiful! What a nice way to honour and respect your mother and grandmother!
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet! I think it would be great to make baby dedication gowns with some of the fabric. They would be very pretty!
ReplyDeleteMore stuff about the wedding dress? Enough already!!
ReplyDeleteI know, right?
DeleteBeautiful dress!!
ReplyDeletehow sweet and wonderful for the duggar ladies to share in grandma's wedding dress. for michelle, jill, jessa and now jinger to all have a piece of that dress in their dresses is beyond beautiful. what a Godly great family!!
ReplyDeleteIt is all so over the top it seems more staged then realy genuine :(
ReplyDeleteI respect your opinion, but I think your wrong. I truly believe this is the way this family is. The children are raised to treat their elders with respect and to treat each other with respect, and that it's nice to go out of your way and do something nice for someone. It's so heartwarming to see this family interact with each other. God Bless
DeleteIt's very staged and over the top.
DeleteIf the comments can't be updated in a timely manner, please pass the maintenance of this site to someone else. We wait for days at a time for comments to be posted. Are you doing this on a voluntary basis or are you employed by the Duggar family to maintain this site?
ReplyDeleteAnon@7:24 these ladies have lives beyond this blog and the other blogs they run. We are blessed to have them taking the time to do this even if it means waiting for a few days to see comments. With all the negative comments that come in, it's a good thing they haven't gotten discouraged and discontinued the blog.
DeleteHow incredibly rude! Lily and Elie run this blog on their own time; they are not employed by the Duggars. While there have been a few delays in posting comments due to things going on in their non-Internet life, I feel they do a great job of getting things updated quickly.
DeleteAgree that it's not fun to come here and find no comments, when you know people have left them.
DeleteThe author of this blog does it on her own and runs two other blogs. She does a fantastic job and she does good at updating comments and articles, but she does have a personal life and can't always get to it right away.
DeleteThey are friends of the Duggars and are nice enough to do this blog as well as their own and the Bates. They are extremely busy going through all the comments on all 3 blogs. Give them a break! Patients is a vertu!
DeleteThey run two blogs, however this is the priority. Plus they do have lives of their own.
DeleteWhy is it so imperative to have your comment posted so quickly? Is it the end of the world? They are fans and run this as such. Not as employees. A little grace and patience may be in order.
DeleteI believe, I mean by that as far as I know, that it is on voluntary basis. Although since there are adverts there is some pay. And it takes so long because they screen and are very strict on there rules. Maby to strict but that just might be my opinion.
DeleteHow spiteful! I am sorry your comments may take a while to post, though please know that to my understanding this is a family friend blog and done as a hobby, not a full-time career. It's a blessing in itself someone would take time out of their busy lives to keep us updated on the honest and interesting Duggar news. We should encourage, not tear down.
DeleteYikes!
DeleteOuch! What a slap! These precious women give of their time to keep (fans) updated. God bless them and I pray their feelings aren't hurt. You can't please everyone all the time.
DeletePlease don´t be rude! Lily and Ellie do a fantastic job at sharing Duggar updates with us. I am very grateful they take time out of their busy schedules to keep us informed, especially since this is a hobby, not their job.
DeleteThank you, Lily and Ellie, for all the time and energy you invest into both your blogs, I really enjoy all the posts you share.
I've said it before I'll say it again. This sight is a fan sight run by family friends of the Duggars. Lilly and Ellie owe you nothing!!! You don't pay to read this blog and they aren't paid to run it. You are in no position to make demands. They are simply volunteers and they can post what they want, when they want!
DeleteThey voluntarily run this blog. Please be patient, they have busy lives just like us.
DeleteI don't believe anyone is tearing down anhthing. If they wear then the comment wouldn't be printed. Everyone was voicing their opinion and I think most agreed on what has been stated thus far. It had been stated before that pieces of Mitchelle wedding dress would be given to each daughter. And people do check in to see updated news not the same news restated. We are interested in the family and would like to know how they are. How is Josie doing? How is Jennifer and Jordon and the others doing? What has Jackson been up to? Give us updates.
DeleteWhat good is a blog without posting the comments in a timely manner? Otherwise, it's just a bunch of headlines.
DeleteI tend to agree with 1:32 PM, though I do understand that posting comments takes time. The problem is that comments need to be screened before posted, because I'm sure there are some nasty comments that have to be screened out
DeleteThe Duggar brides are not the first brides to have a piece of something sentimental to them sewn in their wedding gowns. Many brides have done it before. Why act like it's an original "Duggar thought"?
ReplyDeleteThey weren't acting like it's an original thing. They were letting the viewers know what else was added to the dress.
DeleteWell said Caitlyn Pray. I couldn't have said it better.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet thing to have included in her dress!
ReplyDeleteJessa says "my grandma's dress that my mom had wore", but the word should be "worn". It is "that my mom wore" or "that my mom had worn".
ReplyDeleteWow! How precious
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this. That's so special!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet gesture! That makes the dress and wedding that more special. I didn't realize that lace from their Grandmothers/Mothers dress was used in Jill and Jessa's weddings also. I love watching the days leading up to the wedding! I can't wait to see tonight's episode! Thank You Ellie and Lilly for your blog.
ReplyDeleteI think the poster meant all the comments in general, not theirs specifically. All posts are important, not just one person's.
ReplyDeletehow precious
