Many of you have asked for more information about the work that Jill and Derick Dillard have been doing in Central America. The couple just released a video with dozens of pictures from their first year of missions (summer 2015-summer 2016) and captions explaining how they ministered to the people of Central America during that time. so happy for Jill, another baby!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope this helps all the negative people out there that said the Dillard's didn't do anything while ministering. Now they have proof how much the Dillard's really helped so many people! Such a wonderful family!
ReplyDeleteThey are a wonderful family! Its unfortunate they get to much criticism, but Jesus never said the road to following Him would bring acceptance in this world. So grateful for the example the Duggars, Dillards, Seewalds, and Vuolos have shown us through the years. God bless them!
DeleteNot hating but taking a dozen pics doesn't mean they helped
DeleteYes, but are they going back now that Jill's pregnant AGAIN??
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about ministry/evangelism. Am I correct in understanding that they are trying to convert people? Most people in central America are Catholic, right?
ReplyDeleteIt may be true that most are Catholic but there are still people there who still need to hear the gospel. There are are some who never even heard the name Jesus and those are the ones they and the missionaries there are trying to reach.
DeleteRegina- Ah, yes... SOS ministries, Seekers of Souls. It never ceases to amaze me that there are such audacious folks who think they have the sure path to salvation and it's their duty to recruit others, despite the fact that those others may already have a faith. It defies logic that a loving divine Creator would write people off who don't worship in a certain way, especially considering the Bible has been a source of dispute and conflict for eons.
DeleteThe purpose of evangelism is to lead people to Jesus. Just because people know who Jesus is or call themselves "Catholic" or "Christian" doesn't mean they follow Jesus.
DeleteThe majority of people over their are catholic and they're trying to concert yo Christians, which is almost the same anyway so I don't get why they don't focus more on helping then physically
DeleteThanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI hope that is a chapter that is over with another child on the way.
Jill didn't seem to fend well with the emotional stress and risks they experienced despite their serving hearts. Derrick should recognize those tears shed during the interview belong to his loving wife and mother to his children.
I was also very concerned for Jill. It truly seemed like a thousand bricks were lifted from her shoulders in the newest episodes, those airing once her little family had returned stateside. I get the strongest feeling this overseas mission lifestyle is something that Derrick loved in his single life, but that the lifestyle may not be the best pathway for his sweet family. Poor Jill. After all, there are times you don't know if something is really for you until you try it. I love her servants heart for the Lord though.
DeleteIt just continually frustrates me how that certain Christian's think that you can only "save" lost people overseas. America has plenty of souls that are "lost" and many more people in need, and sadly a lot of today's Americans have never heard the name of Jesus. I guess it's just not as "glamorous" to talk about or film trying to save fellow countrymen. Not that I think glamour was why Jill or Derrick were in SA, I think they had good intentions!👍🏻
From what I can gather, the money goes to supporting them in their mission of sharing their knowledge of Jesus with disadvantaged peoples.
ReplyDeleteThey shouldn't head back there with Jill being pregnant and with Zika. That should be a concern of theirs.
ReplyDeleteFantastic. Bless them! And lovely that Israel gets to experience another culture as he grows up.
ReplyDeleteLike the music in the above video, does someone know where it comes from ?
ReplyDeleteHi Readers,
ReplyDeleteFor those wondering, the song playing in the video is "Carry Your Name" by Christy Nockels.
