Duggars Return to TV in 4 Weeks

Less than 20 minutes ago, we shared an exciting announcement. Jill and Derick Dillard are expecting baby #2 in July 2017! Click here to watch their video message to fans.

"Children really are a wonderful blessing from God," the Dillards told PEOPLE. "Having Israel has been such a delight to us that we know a second sweet baby will only continue to add joy to our family."

Well, we have more big news to reveal. Season three of Counting On premieres Monday, January 16th, at 9pm ET/8pm CT. That's right, the program is no longer on Tuesdays. Between baily life, wedding preparations, babies, new relationships, and much more, season three has a lot of exciting footage in store for viewers (promo video below).

  1. I love how Joy's BF casually was like, "sooooo" LOL

  2. Why is a new season already taking a step back showing wedding preparation? This was an event last summer. Stop with the rehashing the past, and move to new material already....or please, show this terminal TV show an merciful end.

    1. If you remember last season stopped at the engagement and then went to the wedding. There was no shopping of the dress or venues, let alone the shower.

    2. This will be new material - we haven't seen any wedding prep yet.

  3. We already know the news. Courtships, engagements, weddings, babies, birthdays, photo shoots, seasons of life, "mission trips," sweet friends, parties, and more. The real news at this point would be absolutely anything else.

    1. No wonder they make such a big deal of the "gender reveal." It's the only uncertainty, though not to a great degree.

    2. Hahaha lol I so agree!

    3. And maby Anna getting pregnant... Cause Jinger having a baby before the end of next year I would almost bet on that.

  4. Where is this exciting footage? This is all yesterday's news.

    1. I know it's out of the normal order but so many of us are looking forward to seeing the prep for the wedding. Especially the wedding dress choice.

  5. That's quite a different statement that Jill gave People than what she said on TV. She said she "didn't want Israel to think the world revolved around him."

    1. People really bagged on her when she said that. I'm sure she didn't mean that was the main or only reason to have another child, especially given her "babies are a blessing" upbringing.

    2. Why say the same thing twice?

  6. Wow on a Monday and an hour later!!!!! Yipppeeeeeee!!

  7. Is nothing private? She talks so freely about the pregnancy test (you have to pee on a stick). She must be only a few weeks pregnant, why rush to tell the world? Why make these special personal moments so public? Intimate kissing pictures--blek. Don't they have enough to keep themselves busy?

    1. If she's due in July she prob found out she was preg in November as she would of conceived in October..... this makes her three months pregnant which about the time many women make a pregnancy announcement.... I know some make it out to 20 wks but if you start to show sooner/sick that's hard to do. I told close family/friends (no children) at 5 was due to bad morning sickness ... plus why keep it a secret if something goes wrong I.e a mc I'm sure you'd want family support and understanding I know I would!

    2. You can almost not blame them thats the way they were raised, she doesn't know any different..

    3. Apparently not. Nothing is held as precious and private between any of them.

    4. If u don't like it, don't watch.

    5. I believe the pressure for Jill to be pregnant again has been huge.....some of their announcements are driven by TLC and marketing for their show. he's excited and I'm happy for her, Derrick and choochoo!

    6. Anon@12:42,perhaps Jill shouldn't have shared so freely. Sometimes when we ladies get together we do talk about such topics as pregnancy, pregnancy tests and other women topics. It's just something some of us are comfortable talking about amongst ourselves. I think in her excitement Jill might have not taken into consideration that she would be talking to a mixed audience. Blame TLC I believe most people who watch the show are ladies but there are guys who watch the show too. At any rate she did fine and I'm happy for them.
I will say, TLC seems quite controlling on what these families can share. That might be why they haven't said anything about Derick's jaw, I don't know.

    7. Nothing wrong with talking about pregnancy tests etc ... shows her maturity that she's not embarrassed or ashamed of things that are totally normal and natural.

  8. I hope Joy announces an engagement in season 3.

  9. Can you give us an update and pics of Anna and the kid so? She continues to be in my prayers. Also any updates on Jinger and Jeremy? Thank you for this website and your hard work.

  10. Love the fact the Duggars are on TV. It's such a delight to see people like them living a Christian life. (This includes the girls and their husbands as well as the Duggars.) Looking forward to seeing the very young Duggars.

    1. If you're defining "the Christian life" by the Duggars, you're sadly mistaken. Unlike the Duggars, there are lots of people all around you in every walk of life that likely are Christians and living it out in their day-to-day life (the choices they make, the way they conduct themselves and their business, the way they treat their family members and other people, the way they look for people to help and encourage as they go about their day). People who who don't promote it on a TV show. Then again, the Duggars don't talk much about their Christian walk and challenges or God much anymore. The Duggars' TV show has become very superficial with staged busy work projecting/decorating/shopping, an endless round of family social functions (followed by a flurry of "family" video messages), weekend girls' day getaways, clothing/makeup/hair styling tutorials, and parenting tips from first time parents of children under 2. It's not exactly a good representation of Christianity to the world.

  11. If you remember they did not go into wedding prep, only aired engagement and the wedding. There was no dress shopping or picking of the venue. It will be new material!

  12. I know I am! Do have to wonder why they did it this way.

  13. More recaps? Please please pleeeeease ... move on!

  14. People complain when the wedding isn't till the next season... So TLC makes Jinger and Jeremys wedding play almost right after... But this makes it so we miss the prep, so now they are showing it later in the next season and people complain... You just can't win... Love the Duggars and I will be watching as I have been from the beginning.

    1. Beautifully said. I remember how everyone kept complaining about waiting so long to watch the girls' wedding. TLC listened and didn't make us wait months to see Jinger's wedding. It's pretty obvious TLC had already recorded Jinger's wedding preparation in season 3. The wedding was just a Special.

      Delete
    2. Exactly! I guess some people just like to complain. :)

    3. But they could of pleased everyone by airing the wedding planning instead of all the old footage and the all about jinger ep which showed nothing knew. So they could of pleased everyone!

  15. The reason TLC goofed again is because they aired that non-episode a week before the wedding; the one where they "appreciated Jinger". Who needed that? No one. They should have aired the wedding prep episode then, which would have been "in order" timewise and the wedding episode when they did....that next week. Now, all they are doing is stepping back in time, yet again with old stuff. Poor planning and decision making.

    1. I agree, seems like common sense to me but tlc disagrees. Who's planning the show a ten year old? Its all over the place

  16. I hope in the new season one of the boys announce they are courting.

  17. I can't believe some of these comments, so sad. I don't care what the subject of the new shows are I just like seeing the family. I wanna see their search for her dress, even though we've seen her pick. Love this family and pray for them often.

  18. Is jessa pregnant with Twins? Because, jill ears two heart beat.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Probably not, she shared an ultrasound picture and there was just one pictured. She may also have been detecting Jessa's heartbeat which is a common mistake or the baby got excited and it's heart rate changed. I can't see her hiding a twin pregnancy, but she joked about it with her first baby too.

      Delete
    2. Jessa has already shown her ultrasound online so no it's only one. With every pregnancy they tease twin's. Hope they don't do it with Jill.. Getting abit annoying

    3. Jessa has shown her ultrasound showing one baby. Every baby they tease twin's.. I agree that its getting abit old

  19. Sooooo....it appears the new season of episodes will rehash of Jinger's wedding prep, learning Jessa is pregnant with a single baby and Joy is in a courtship. Why tune in; nothing new.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Some of us don't tune in just to see new, exciting, unexpected news. We tune in because we feel a kinship with this family, because it is a safe show for our kids to watch, and we enjoy the opportunity to tag along while they are going about their daily lives. Personally, I appreciate who they are as people, I love the example they set for our own family, and I don't need anything crazy or any sort of wow factor in order to enjoy the show. Then again, we don't have TV, we catch up online, so we are not spoiled by all of the other reality shows with constant new ridiculous drama happening.

  20. How about what Anna is truly up to and a look into the daily lives of John David and Josiah???

    ReplyDelete
  21. Why does TLC really catch us up on Josh's status?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I want to see all the pre-wedding footage. I realize it's out of order but I can't wait to see it. I'll be surprised if Jeremy and Jinger don't have "an announcement" of their own soon.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Instead of doing so many recap episodes and the all about jinger episode which showed nothing new, TLC could of easily aired couple EPs worth of wedding fotage. So what is with this weird setup?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Why couldn't they show the wedding footage instead of airing so many episodes of old footage? Seems like the smart thing to do to me

    ReplyDelete
  25. Jessa has not shared the ultrasound on the internet yet. I would have seen it .
