Congratulations on your 7 years of blogging! I really enjoy reading all of your blogs π
ReplyDeleteI'm originally from Mexico but now I live in Sacramento California! I started reading your blog around the time when Jill and Derrick were courting and have not stopped. Hope you never stop blogging! Keep up the great work π
Can't believe it's been seven years! I really enjoy reading your blog posts!! I'm from massachuesetts and have been reading since Josie came home from the hospital! I hope you guys had an amazing Christmas!! ❤
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 7 years! I live in Wisconsin. I have been watching the Duggars since the beginning. I just found the Duggar, and Bates blog about a year ago. Since then I have visited the blog every day religiously. Sometimes multiple times per day. Keep up the good work ladies! Thank you for all your hard work!π
ReplyDeleteI am from Maine and have known of the Duggars for most of my life (I'm only 14). But, I have only started watching the blog maybe two months ago. I enjoy it so much!
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog since 19 kids and counting and I am from Syracuse new York since the day I was born
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Duggar family on the seven years of the blog. Congratulations Jill and Derek and jessa and ben on the second pregnancies hope you both have girls
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on seven years! I'm from Chino Valley, AZ and started reading this blog maybe a little over a year ago. You're doing a great job but it's okay to take time off during the holidays. Your families are important so don't worry about delays in posting. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 7 years! I live up north in the New England region. I've been reading and following all of your blogs for just over a year. I first started reading right before the first three specials for Counting On came out! You do an amazing job keeping up with your three blogs, Ellie and its always a joy to see any updates on the Duggars, Bates, and of your family. Keep up the great work, hopefully for another 7 years!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 7th anniversary of this blog. Enjoy reading it. Love the other blog about the Bates Family as well.
ReplyDeleteI live in Bochum - a city in Germany.
Don´t know when I started reading you blog. Maybe in the early years of Josh and Anna´s marriage. Stumpled over your blog randomly on Google.
Thank you, ladies for your work on this site. Although I don't agree much with the Duggars, I am always interested in reading all opinions.
ReplyDeleteI re-visited "Jill's College Plans" post and I'm sorry to say that Jill did NOT become a nurse nor did she attend college. The Duggar family aren't encouraging their children to attend any real college at all. Michelle stated that since she and Jim Bob didn't attend college and consider themselves successful in life, it's not necessary for any of their children to go. She said it herself. Jill has fallen quite short of her original "fantasy" goal...sorry to say.
I want to read all opinions, too, not just the ones that gloss over facts and make this family seem like royalty, which they are not.
DeleteJill has a husband and babies to take care of now. She doesn't have time for college. The only think she'll be worrying about for the next many years are her husband and many many babies.
DeleteYes, they supposedly claim that they're not perfect, so why try to hide anything? This blog should be open to all Duggar discussion, the good as well as the bad that they have done themselves.
DeleteYou have done an amazing job. We will continue to support the Duggar's. Thank you for all you do!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 7yrs of blogging. I am from salamanca ny and I have been watching and reading for about 5yrs. I love the Duggar family.
ReplyDeleteSo we could say that the youngest 5 were born on TV, while Josie has been "blogged" by Lily and Ellie since her birth! #MindBlown
ReplyDeleteI'm originally from St. Louis Park, MN; but now I've lived with my family for over 10 years on the Mission Field in La Concordia, Ecuador. (It's a 4 hour drive west from the Capital.)
I started following y'all back in November of 2013. I've been a firm follower ever since. Ever since I "met" them, the Duggars have been a huge input of joy and hope for my troubling life; but after the #Joystin announcement, things haven't quite turned out so well for me right now...
To put it plainly, put the disappointment aside and move on. It's the only way you're going to make it. Are you old enough to leave the mission and start leading another kind of life of your own, maybe with a relative back in the US? Nobody should be having a "troubling" life. There is ALWAYS help.
DeleteI'm sorry you were upset about the announcement. But always remember God has bigger plans for you than you could ever have for yourself and if you just stick close to and follow Him He will give you the joy and hope you long for ! He loves you so much !
DeleteThere are plenty of "good girls" like us out there who are more than happy to have a chaste and pure and godly relationship with men. Please give other girls a chance too. We may not be "Duggar girl queen" with our perfect hair and makeup. Or be fanatical on whether we touch hands or not. But we do keep the commandments and go to church regularly and would like to not be compared to the Duggar girls all the time. Give us a try - you might find we're not scary and godless at all!!!! :)
DeleteAnon 9:21, it's not as easy as you think. I've harbored my disappointment for the past 5 years, and so far there isn't an easy way to get rid of it. Despite being JAD's age, I'm way much more immature than any of the Duggars. I agree with you, but so far I haven't been able to find the adequate help for me yet.
DeleteAnon 9:40, thank you for the reminder; but I'm afraid God wouldn't want to help a hypocrite. He knows my evil heart won't allow Him to fully enter until get rid of my depression; and it just keeps getting worse.
James, you need to talk to your parents, and if they won't help you, if they are making you feel more guilty, then talk to a doctor or someone who can help. I seriously doubt God is looking down on your in your time of need and saying nope - this one's not worthy. He's not that kind of God! He helps you most when you need Him most! You must know how kind his Son is, too! And may I suggest turning off all things Duggar, this blog after today included, to start helping you get past this problem. The solution does not include continuing to think about them. Think about yourself first.
DeleteGod wants to help everyone. Jesus even says in the Bible that He didn't come to help the whole but to help the sick. The ones who know they're not perfect. Those are the ones God came to help. I'm sorry you struggle with depression. I have a friend that also struggles with it and I know it's a hard thing. God so wants to help you with it though. He loves you so much !!!
DeleteAnon 3:57, I understand what you mean. I'm not shunning any girls out of my "dating life"; but when you live in a 3rd World country like Ecuador, it's not easy to find girls like y'all. I'm not saying that you girls are scary and godless; I'm just saying that the Duggar Girls (JAD in particular) were the first Godly girls I had ever laid my eyes upon.
DeleteThank you for your concern, Anon 11:53/56. But if I ever "let go" of the Duggars, I'd fear that I'd loose all of my hope. My situation is so complex, that I'm afraid of hurting everyone; including the people at my church. This is why I grasp strongly onto the Duggars, because they were my "ticket out" the first time I felt like this.
DeleteIf you're old enough to be dating, then you're old enough to get out of Ecuador. Try going to college in the US. If you want to meet "Godly" girls, then try a Bible-based university (but be ready to follow their strict dating rules). Sounds like it's time to go on your own "mission."
DeleteJames, you've gotten some good advice here (and in other posts you've posted). Heed it.
DeleteIt's very creepy to hear some of these fans talk about how they've hoped to date or marry Duggar girls, as if there aren't millions of other nice Christian girls out there. The fixation is almost scary. If you are obsessing about a Duggar girl, please get help.
DeleteAnon 8:36, that sounds like a good idea, but I cannot afford that. My family is supported via donations, so I'm not so sure that a trip back to the US would fit in our currant budget.
DeleteAnon 8:38, I know that and I treasure it since I rarely can get encouraging help, the only problem is that due to the beliefs here, it's hard for me to accomplish some of that advice.
Anon 2:38, I am not obsessed about a Duggar girl, it's just that they're the only Godly girls I've known in the past 10 years I've lived in Ecuador that actually have a lifestyle that I delight in. Actually, I've based MY standards on theirs. Nearly carbon-copy, you could say.
I had a friend that I didn't realize I was relying so heavily on until they were removed to where I can't rely on them anymore. I think sometimes God does that to make us realize He wants to be Who we rely on. He doesn't mind us counting on people and knows we need that. But He wants, and certainly deserves, to be number 1 in our lives. He alone truly knows us and can help us.
DeleteAnon. 3:42, I know God is supposed to be the Main Focus of our life, but when you don't have any friends to help you with your emotional problems; it's gets rather difficult to see clearly see that.
DeleteHello from West Virginia, I love reading your blog and I look so forward to keeping up with the latest news about the Duggar and Bates families. I can not remember when I started reading it, I think it was about the time of Jill and Derricks Wedding. Congrats on 7 years and heres to many more.
ReplyDeleteAww! I love all of your blogs!! I can't remember when I started following, but I've read every post. And I've lived in Panama City, Fl, Ellaville, GA, and now Orlando, FL! Love you all! Can't wait to see what the years bring!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! :) I am from Maine and have been a regular reader for four years now :) I started reading your blogs and watching the shows when my now preschooler was just a newborn. I really enjoyed reading about how others who were in the same stage of life as me were living their lives and raising their children, especially now that my family has grown. It has been a great joy and comfort to read about others trying to live the best life they can in the eyes of Christ through this blog (all three of them, really). It is really hard to find that these days. Thank you for all of your hard work Lily and Ellie! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 7 year anniversary. Wishing you many more.
ReplyDeleteJoan,Marion and Marilyn

ReplyDeleteI'm Emma from Pensacola Fl. I started reading your blog early this year and I haven't stopped since! I'm still in high school but I'm home schooled online, so everyday before I get on my school website, I have to visit my favorite websites first- The Duggars and The Bates! :)

Your Loyal Reader,
Emma H.
I'm from Alaska and have been reading your blog for over two and a half years! :)
ReplyDeleteLily and Ellie,
ReplyDeleteOne thing I have noticed is that there are some readers that come here seeking questions about faith and the Bible. They are aware that the you, Duggars, and many of your readers are Christians. I really appreciate the way people reach out to those seeking answers and pointing them to the Bible. I think your blog has unintentionally become a "mission field" which is okay. Thanks again for this blog. I know it has to be difficult deciding whether a comment should be posted or not. The Lord bless you both and your families.
I appreciate this, too.
DeleteI'm from South Carolina, and I've been reading (and enjoying) your blog since Anna was pregnant with Marcus (so 4 years!)
ReplyDeleteThx for keeping up with it for 7 years!!!!
Congratulations! :) I'm from the UK and I've been reading the blog for a couple of years.
ReplyDeleteWow! Congratulations! Long time reader, newer at commenting. I'm from Michigan :)
ReplyDeleteIm from northern Ontario Canada! I have enjoyed reading your blog since close to the beginning! I learned over time that your blog was one I could rely on for honesty and integrity. You do a great job of keeping negative comments to a minimum. I love following the Duggars and you make that easy to do. I really love your blogs that come up after a show. We dont have a tv with channels (thanks to the Duggars influence). You describe the shows so well that if I ever happen to see a show via youtube or at a hotel, it feels like I have already seen it because of your summaroes!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the lovely comments. We are very thankful to have such wonderful readers, and it's fun to hear where y'all are from. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLily and Ellie
I am from Canada and got more interested in the Duggars and Bates when I was going through intense pain that led to very invasive surgery. Before everything was diagnosed and I was in constant pain, I found comfort in the Godly way of life the Duggars live. I am no perfect soul myself, and realize that the Duggar family has faults as well but it brought me a lot of peace to watch the shows and read your blog. Thank you for helping me without even knowing it. Now that everything is healed and I am (thank God) healthy again, I still read your blogs and remember how finding distraction in them helped me through the toughest challenge I have faced so far. Congratulations on 7 years and please continue with your great work- you are doing much more than you think!
ReplyDeleteGod Bless :)
Hello I'm from the Netherlands and reading since 2 tears now. Thank you so much.

ReplyDeleteHi Ladies, Thanks for the blog. I started reading while living in Tucson, AZ about 5 years ago. I continue reading now that I've moved to Dallas, TX. I appreciate that I can keep up with the families whose example I really appreciate with all the gossip. I especially like that you know and respect the families. That makes it extra special! Thanks again π
